The life of the Church;

The Church will be open for quiet individual prayer between 5.00pm and 7.00pm.

At 7.00pm there will be a time of introduction, praise and worship, reading and a brief talk before we get down to further intercessory prayer.

The last hour (10.00pm to 11.00pm) will also include some worship as well as an opportunity for people to share anything they sensed the Lord may have been saying to us as a Church.

We want this time to be as much about listening to the Lord as sharing our concerns with Him.

We are delighted to announce that The Hope Centre, at Minehead Baptist Church, has been awarded for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Reducing Re-Offending’ at the 2008 Avon and Somerset Criminal Justice Board’s annual awards.

The Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, 2nd December.

See an article from the West Somerset Free Press.

The Hope Centre volunteers provide advice and support, as well as hot meals, drinks, bathing and clothes washing facilities.

They also help to make doctors appointments, speak to housing officers and source furniture for those that have made a fresh start in accommodation of their own.

Visitors to the Centre can also take part in constructive activities, such as crafts, games and trips out.

The impact that The Hope Centre has on the Minehead community has been huge. Not only do many of their visitors now enjoy a better quality of life, but the level of calls received by the police in relation to these people has dropped considerably.

Ian McCormack, also known as ‘The Jellyfish Man’, will be coming to Minehead Baptist Church to tell us his amazing story and about his work.

Ian was night diving off the island of Mauritius when he was stung multiple times by Box Jellyfish, which are among the most venomous creatures in the world. His testimony relates how he clung to life while getting to hospital, was declared clinically dead soon afterwards, and how during this time he had an encounter with God, which radically changed the direction of his life.

Come along and here this amazing story!

Jennifer will be at the following meetings:

Ladies Breakfast – Saturday, 27th Sept 8.30 a.m. Tickets £5.

Celebration for all – Saturday, 27th 7.00 p.m.

Baptismal Service - Sunday, 28th 10.30 a.m.

Big Issue; Does God Heal Today? - Sunday, 28th 4.00 p.m. (followed by a cuppa & cake)

Evening Healing Service - Sunday, 28th 6.00 p.m.

From Jennifer’s website, Beauty from Ashes:

Jennifer has a fruitful and long-established prayer, healing, speaking and writing ministry. After becoming seriously ill in 1982 with a virus that confined her with constant pain to a wheelchair for eight years, she was healed through the prayer of a new Christian at a meeting at which she was speaking. She has also experienced a broken marriage. Since then the Lord has focused her ministry on helping people adjust to pain, loss and trauma.

Please come along to the events, we’d love to see you!
