It Looks like VANS is opening a PopUp shop at London’s Old Spittalfields Market just in time for the VANS Downtown Showdown.

Picking up on the Victorian era Pub and Jack the Ripper theme from the contest the store has the look and feel of a pub. A baby grand piano (I hear it actually plays!), travel cases and real wine barrels are all used in the shop to show a full and exclusive collection of VANS products.

The shop is open now for 4 weeks.

The American design collective Object Design League is currently on exhibition in the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. The group is producing balloons as a way to “demystify” the balloon making process and expose it to the public by their own means of research and exploration.  The week-long factory is part of the MCA’s current exhibition We Are Here: Art & Design Out of Context in the 12×12 gallery space of the museum.

3D has become influential in the entertainment industry through Cinema, Television and Gaming.  Vista provides unique, vibrant and personalized eye wear to this industry internationally.

Vista jumped on a niche market with a fast response to the growing need for private in home 3D accessories. A variety of colors is a nice start but I would love to see these guys innovate frame sizes and shapes.
What about customization for fans and theme parties? Imagine having a 3D watching party for your favorite event or program…why not hand out ‘branded’ Vista glasses? This can be a useful tool for event managers, promoters and producers who have any contact with 3D.

Looking forward to seeing more out of Vista.

I started this site to bring together different creative and professionals to give them a space to share their interests and showcase their own work. It has been a struggle at times for me to put keys to board so a big THANK YOU Sophie and Neva, you both kick ass! Keep the writing coming and keep up all of your amazing design work.

Looking back on 2010 I see a wealth of experience and motivation towards the future. So many good trips, lucky me lucky me!

MIMOSOPOP on the road…

Long time I know, but in that time I have been having an excellent time keeping busy with work, Christmas/Hanukkah lead up, and visiting friends new shops. I know people opening shops is a tad crazy but that’s the way I tend to like people.

The first shop opening was my favourite, truly British shirt brands, second shop opening on the Kings Road : http://www.blaqua.net/ It was a fab night, their son ( well one half of Blaqua, Debbie and Simon, not Phillip) Luke was playing some excellent Northern Soul, and classic Rhythm and blues. One of the things I love about Blaqua is the British eccentricness, and a good example of this are their cufflinks.

This is a friend from University, Julia Crew who has focused her designs on ethical fashion, in particular men’s bags. I love her designs, (not in a biased way) and the creativity with recycling leather jackets, but making something tasteful and really desirable!

If I could buy anything for a certain someone this Christmas it would be one of these bags and I’m not just saying that.

Anyways enjoy, and if you happen to visit why not pop into Dalston superstore for lunch. I’ve only been in the evening but the other day I went for brunch and it was super yummy!

Other than that I’ve started designing and sourcing my own range of accessories so, hopefully, keep your eyes peeled for the new year, fingers cross everything goes smoothly I will have a completed range in the shops! Exciting and quite frightening : )
