How long can I expect to be taking lessons?

Many many years ago when I was learning to drive, I was occasionally frustrated in not knowing when all these lessons would be over and I would finally be on the road.

I still remember that feeling. Therefore, on the first lesson, I give an outline of tasks that must be completed, followed by an indication of how many hours to complete the course. You can then inform me over what period of time you would like to be training.

For example, if you required 30 hours and chose to take a 1 hour lesson per week, then of course it will take 30 weeks.

Alternatively, you may choose to do an intensive driving course, or a semi intensive driving course. This could be 5 hours per week finishing in 6 weeks, or 10 hours per week finishing in 3 weeks and so on. I am flexible, so can fit around whatever you choose, and of course can recommend what would suit your individual needs.

There can also be a waiting list on tests, so it makes sense to book the test as soon as your Theory test has been passed.

Discounted Driving Schools (Caution)

Please be wary of heavily discounted driving schools, as these are gimicks and can lead to inflated prices after the discount period or be priced per lesson (45 minutes). You may also find you end up taking more lessons than you need leading to higher costs overall. For the fairest price, get an estimate of total number of lessons required and multiply by costs per lesson. Remember, you don’t have to stay with the same instructor, so if you aren’t seeing the results you want in a reasonable time, give me a call and I can give you an estimate in your first lesson. Top Grade 6 Instructor

When sourcing your driving school, one of the important questions to ask is ‘what grade is my instructor?’ In other words, how good is the instructor. All DSA approved instructors are check tested every 4 to 5 yearrs by an accredited DSA supervising examinor. These check tests are graded depending upon knowledge and ability to instruct.

The grades are 1 to 6. Grade 1 being extremely poor (should not even be allowed to drive, let alone teach). Grade 6 being extremely competant and to a high standard.

You can rest assured that I am currently grade 6 and have been since 2000, and will ensure you have a safe and effecient learning experience.
