It’s that time of year again. Many of us have created new year’s resolutions. Some (or more) of us have already broken some (or all) of these newly created resolutions. It happens. We had the best of intentions. We had drive and focus. We maybe even had an outlined plan on paper.

If you did fall short on your goal accomplishment, this year let’s do something different. Let’s look at these goals again. This time look at them carefully. Ask yourself some really direct questions such as “is this realistic, is this in my best interest, could my energy be better spent elsewhere”….. and answer yourself as honestly as you can. Base it on YOUR goals for YOURSELF. Do not take others into consideration for this part of the exercise.

Secondly, depending on your answers, its time to either just let it go or to again pick up the ball. Either decision may be difficult as sometimes its very hard to “just let it go”.

If you chose to again “pick up the ball” you will need to continue to re-evaluate it everytime you drop it. Again, ask yourself why you chose this goal and why you chose to continue to keep and work on this goal. Why is this process important? This is important because dropping the ball is not failure. Wasn’t it Thomas Edison (the inventor) who did not define failure as the amount of times his experiments failed? Instead, he believed that his “failures” were all a learning experience —letting him know what works and what doesn’t.

Let’s chose to not give up for as many steps we take backwards we will undoublty still achieve some forward movement. Yes, it may not happen in our ancipated time frame, however if it doesn’t, that’s not failure. Personally, I define failure as not trying at all.

This belief may be valid however; there is another paradigm that has been around for many years that unfortunately does not get equal consideration. This contrary concept was developed by, Dr Ralph Steinman, a well respected dentist and researcher who has looked over 40 years at the interactivity between the oral cavity and the metabolism of the body. Teeth are not solid, but consist of a series of dentin tubules and parallel enamel roads. Dr. Steinman proved that substances moved from within the body through the tooth and into the mouth.. He did this by injecting a radioactive dye into the gut of rats and found that it took only 6 minutes for his dye to make its way into the tooth. He proposed that this movement of the dye is associated with normal flushing that occurs constantly in a tooth to provide essential nutrients, and prevent bacteria from causing damage to the tooth. This movement within the tooth is called dentinal fluid transport.

Dr Steinman also worked with an endocrinologist John Leonora to search for a hormonal source for regulating the dentinal fluid transport. They found the mechanism was regulated by the hypothalamus, a structure within the brain responsible for a large number of normal functions throughout the body, including regulating sleep, temperature, eating, and sexual development. The hypothalamus also regulates the functions of the pituitary gland by directing the pituitary to stop or start production of its hormones.

Their collaborative studies led to the discovery of a new endocrine system: the hypothalamic-parotid gland endocrine axis. The parotid gland is a major salivary gland located on either side of the cheeks within our mouth, and is the only salivary gland that communicates to the hypothalamus. This communication occurs with the parotid releasing factor and these researchers were able to isolate this hormone in a pure form, and showed that it stimulates dentinal fluid flow. They demonstrated that a high sugar diet suppresses the function of this endocrine axis and consequently dentinal fluid flow. They went on to demonstrate in rats that they could physiologically prevent the suppressive effect of the high sugar diet on dentinal fluid flow and prevent dental decay 80 to 100 percent of the time.

Extrapolating the work of Dr Steinmans and Dr Leonora the body essentially tells our teeth to decay. The body makes this decision based on its analysis of our blood chemistry which is performed in the pituitary gland. When this occurs then vital nutrients as well as substances within our mouth or on our teeth start getting pulled inward through the three miles of microscopic dentin tubes in each tooth. Thus a clean tooth may decay less, or hurt less while it is decaying, but it still will decay.

The bodies message controlling whether your teeth decay are influenced by the health of the person, and primarily what the person is eating and not eating. Drugs, vaccines, smoking, drinking and other stimulating activities can influence or even cause cavities.

For a brief introduction to Constellation Work please click here..

Fractal Image: Fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is a reduced sized copy of the whole. This depicts the holographic / holistic nature of the human being & the universe. The 5 levels is also based upon this principle

At a recent workshop of mine a young lady in her early thirties had signed up to do a constellation. Natasha (not her real name) was an immigrant from Poland (I changed the country). She had a very strained relationship with her mother, as a matter of fact, she couldn’t stand her. In the constellation, the representatives of both women stood far apart, facing in different directions; her representative could not even look at the person representing the mother. Upon my asking, the real Natasha verified that this behavior was congruent with her feelings.

In a short conversation at the beginning of the process, Natasha shared that her grandmother had been violently uprooted and forced to immigrate to Poland under horrible circumstances from her homeland, Serbia (not her actual homeland). I therefore had Natasha also choose someone to represent Serbia.

The dynamic of the constellation was complex and I will only describe one, yet central, aspect. The grandmother was a stoic woman, stiff and quite unable to access her feelings. The process revealed that she had a strong bond and yearning for the homeland. Yet she was unable to ‘live’ that connection since it was too painful. Natasha had a strong personality with vibrant energy but was also deeply identified with Serbia and considered herself more Serbian than Polish. She also felt much more connected to her grandmother than to her mother. Her mother, on the other hand, was frail and despondent with a ‘victim-like energy’. She felt alone and ostracized from the family and experienced no connection to Serbia.

In the ensuing process I had the person representing the grandmother ‘face’ her pain caused by the loss of her homeland and ‘work through it’. This resulted in a deeply emotional physical embrace with the person representing the homeland. As this happened a pronounced shift in the mother’s energy as well as the relationship between mother and daughter occurred. The mother was suddenly revitalized and her energy transformed into a much more empowered state as if a new personality had appeared. The person representing Natasha emitted a huge sigh of relief and started to relax. She also spontaneously turned and started to look at her mother.

I then had the person representing the homeland stand behind the mother and hold her by the shoulders and asked the mother to discover and embrace her connection to the homeland. As this happened the real Natasha walked over and fell into a deep, heartful embrace with her mother representative.

So what are the dynamics of family entanglements that this constellation process revealed and healed? This was an example of probably the most common form of entanglement: taking on a parent’s burden. Children very often try to relieve their parents of their burdens by taking these burdens on. The grandmother did not deal with her pain, so the daughter unconsciously “tried to do it for her”, and therefore lived a despondent life. The grandmother also failed to ‘live’ her connection to the homeland which would have provided her with an important source of strength. She was not able to pass this connection on to her daughter, thereby strengthening her.

Natasha, on the other hand, did find her connection to the homeland (for whatever reasons) and was able to derive much strength from that. This huge burden, carrying the connection to the homeland for everyone else, which she had unconsciously taken on, caused issues in her life – she became “the strong one” for everyone else in the family. This caused her to resent her mother – she had actually shared that her mother was a “wimp” and “not one of us Serbs”. However when grandmother and mother took ownership and resolved their own issues, Natasha felt unburdened and the entanglements that had stood in the way of her relationship with her mother were released.

This process demonstrated two very important facets of our psyche: that the connection to one’s homeland is an important, although often unthought-of, source of life energy and that people often unconsciously take on a parent’s burden. Family Constellation Therapy is a powerful tool to uncover these dynamics and leave a person free to experience more intimate relationships, among other benefits.

I am frequently asked how I as a biologic dentist differ from a dentist who provides traditional care. This need for a distinction gave me pause to consider why indeed?

Biological dentists recognize the impact of dental materials and the relevance of dental procedures to our patient’s health. These dentists are concerned with the integrity of the oral cavity and the resulting affect on the body. Holistic Dentists see how each tooth lays on an acupuncture meridian, and chooses care that doesn’t violate that relationship.

At the core of what has divided traditional, holistic, and biologic dentists for at least the last 30 years, is the question of safety of amalgam fillings. If we can set aside this issue for just a moment and look at the role of dentistry in health care one thing becomes clear to me, all dentists do biologic dentistry.

I say this because dentists play a huge role in our health care system. At the core of our dental training is a thorough review of the patient’s health history. When we look at the medications the patient is currently taking, and adjust our care accordingly then that care is biologically based.

Dental Hygienists play a unique role since they spend the most time with patients in the dental office setting. Not only do they review the medical history but they often times see the patient more frequently than does their physician. This relationship allows for possibly not only early detection, but more importantly an opportunity to coach a reluctant patient who has been postponing needed medical care.

Dental research that arose in the 1990’s, even hit the main stream media, about the harm caused by periodontal bacteria to the rest of the body. Several studies showed how Periodontal bacteria had been found as at least a contributing factor to heart disease, preterm low birth weight babies, diabetes, and even MS. Most, if not all dentists address this issue.

So as a profession shouldn’t we focus more on the common ground and spend less time making distinctions that divide. This isn’t good for our profession and especially for our patients.

Yes, I’ve always loved Christmas too. Growing up in a modest family, our Christmas’s were often centered around our church family and a chance to participate as an Angel or Sheppard in the living Nativity. With 4 siblings, the presents were piled high and my mom always made the best egg nog in town.

Yet, it’s Thanksgiving that I love most. My memories of mom placing the turkey in the oven, preparing the homemade stuffing together the night before and the family prayer as we sat to a table so beautiful it would take your breath away.

Then my Mom became sick and couldn’t quite muster the strength to get the turkey in the oven and some years passed that are so hazy in my mind….it’s as if they didn’t even exist.

Ten years forward, Thanksgiving1985, my 6 year old son and I were spending Thanksgiving in Disney. For those who have been there you know that once you step on Disney property….you leave your cares behind. Each moment is filled with castles and characters and parades and palaces from around the world. For many, it’s the only chance they will ever have to visit Germany, France or Holland. It’s truly magical.

When the phone rang and my brother was calling from New Jersey, it completely disrupted my blissfulness. In a moment I switched from childlike wonder to a place I’ve only gone once in my life and that was an internal hell where every cell in my body screamed NOOOOOOO PLEASE DON’T LET THIS BE TRUE!!!!!! when I heard my brother’s words….”Daddy’s dead!.”

I clearly recall the Thanksgiving that followed the year after. I was in the kitchen alone aching for a connection; a voice, a touch, a sound or the smell of my father’s aftershave.

There was only silence.

The following year, my son and I decided to winter in Vermont and arrived late October for the season. As Thanksgiving approached….I could feel a sense of dread, great sadness and an ache for the early days. I looked at my son and I knew he deserved something more.

I called the local family shelter. I asked for the director. “Director”, I said, “Do you have a family there….maybe a mom and dad with kids who are down on their luck this year and maybe would like to share Thanksgiving with me and my son?” He replied, “In fact, we do. Tom lost his job and Mary has cancer and they haven’t been able to meet their medical bills. They have two great kids and we’ve been keeping them a float while they get their life straightened out”. I replied, “Great….I’ll pick them up at 2PM.”

Then I called the local School for Advanced International Studies and asked if they had any students who would not be going home for the holiday. I found two doctors, one from Brazil and one from Argentina who had never even celebrated Thanksgiving and they eagerly said they would love to come.

I invited my only two friends in Vermont and we gathered for a holiday that is forever etched in my heart. My son read them the story of the pilgrims of Plymouth colony and how they suffered through a devastating winter in which nearly half their number died. Without the help of the Wampanoag Indians, all would have perished. And, then we began with a prayer. Tom and Mary gave thanks for being able to keep their family together despite their hardship, the Brazil doctor gave thanks for America and the chance to understand our tradition, my son gave thanks for our Thanksgiving family we had gathered and I bowed my head with a grateful heart for the chance to celebrate life, bounty, humankind and resilience for isn’t that what we learned from the early settlers?

That despite all odds, plagues, weather, loss and despair…..they found comfort in their new friends the Indians who offered them the teachings of this new land…our America. Thanksgiving will always be my favorite holiday. It embodies all that I know to be true for humankind. We are kind, giving, helpful, resilient and strong in our faith. We are inherently good and we strive to be better. We love our families, our friends and our neighbors and we will always offer our help to someone less fortunate. That’s who we are at our core. It’s my favorite holiday because it gives us all a chance to embrace being both “thankful” and “giving,” not only for each toward each other but also toward ourselves.

“Is being afraid bad” I was asked by an 8 year old client. I looked at them and wanted to just offer comfort and let them know that everything would be OK. However, that was both unrealistic as I can’t predict the future and my need to comfort came from my own want to protect this young client. They were asking me an intellectual question. Their question was not one of “I need comfort”. It was a question of “I need an answer”. As such, I needed to respond in kind.

I explained that fear could be seen as neither good nor bad. Fear was a tool. Feeling fear or thinking about fear was an indication that something was present that we needed to be wary of. It was our built-in-alert-system to warn us that something was wrong or that something had the potential to go wrong. So, in a way, fear was very helpful to us. It kept us safe.

Then my young client asked “So why does it feel so bad and yucky?” Again, though I wanted to hug them and make their boggy men go away, I simply answered the question with a question in order to attempt to provoke a connection for them. I asked “Do you think that fear feels ‘bad’ to help us pay more attention to it? And Do you think it gets us to more quickly change our situation?” This 8 year old insightfully answered “I guess I probably wouldn’t pay much attention to it because I’m always so busy with stuff… Like when my mom keeps calling my name. I may have heard her the first few times but it also may not have registered in my brain…so I didn’t respond until she yelled…I guess fear is like that” After I got over the shock of them using such a big word as “registered” I sat their full of pride for my young one. They got it.

Fractal Image: Fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is a reduced sized copy of the whole. This depicts the holographic / holistic nature of the human being & the universe. The 5 levels is also based upon this principle

A gentleman in his early sixties had signed up to do a constellation at a Workshop in the spring of this year. To protect his identity, we’ll call him George. What had brought him to the workshop was a critical state of health; it was not clear whether he would survive beyond the next several months. Aside from diabetes, partial kidney failure, congestive heart failure and a few other issues, he had broken a leg over a year ago and the broken bones would not heal and grow back together. Needless to say, he was chronically fatigued, felt depressed and despondent with little life energy left in him.

At the workshop he set up his inner picture of his family using representatives from the group. The resulting constellation revealed a rather dysfunctional large family. A divorce of the parents had ended an unhappy marriage. This and other factors had resulted in several rifts in the family where relationships between the siblings were still strained.

In constellation work the dynamics of the energetic bonds between the family members become visible and in this case it was apparent that everyone in the family had been suffering from the disjointed situation. The dynamics surrounding the person who represented George revealed that he had suffered greatly through the family dynamics in an added way: from when he was a child he had a strong and semi conscious desire to “save” the family and expended much heartbreaking energy in the attempt to do so. He felt that he constantly struggled to bring his siblings together – with no success.

During the course of the process, I sensed that there was an important energy on one side of the constellation that was not being represented. This “spot” happened to be next to the mother. As soon as I placed a group member on that spot, the person representing the mother broke down and nearly fainted. I asked if anyone had a sense of who or what this might be. Suddenly one of George’s real sisters, who was present, cried out: “that is our mother’s life long sweetheart whom she passionately loved, yet the two of them never had the chance to actually come together”. The person representing George started to shake – obviously he was strongly affected by this relationship.

The dynamic in the constellation process which then ensued showed that, while the father was still alive, George identified with him and internally “stood up for him” since the boy sensed that his father had never had a chance to receive the kind of love from his wife that she had for the other man. After both his father and his mother’s sweetheart had passed away, George unconsciously took on a different role. Feeling the unspeakable pain and sorrow of his mother, he attempted to be a surrogate husband to his mother – a very common dynamic. Driven by her pain, the mother unwittingly welcomed her son’s “advances”, which were not erotic in nature, and entered into an unhealthy bond with her son.

In summary, the constellation process revealed that George had unconsciously taken on three kinds of energetic burdens called “entanglements” and carried them from childhood to the present time. First, he felt responsible for the disarray of his family and expended endless energy to fix it, without results. Second, he got involved in his parents’ unhappy relationship, trying to make things right by identifying with his father. Finally, he tried to alleviate his mother’s pain by ‘partnering’ her.

This was all clearly far too much for this boy to carry and since such energetic entanglements remain in one’s field for a life time until they are released, they had a profound effect on the adult man’s well-being and health – without him ever having a clue about their existence.

In the final phase of the constellation process, called resolution, I asked George to step into the constellation as himself. The entanglements were one by one released primarily through two facilitations. In the first one I set up a new and healthy constellation according to what is called “the orders of love”. Alone through this new and systemic configuration of the family members, entanglements are released. In addition, George was given the opportunity to actively release his burdens by engaging in a certain dialogue and energetic interaction with all of the family members.

A shift in George’s energy, vitality and well-being became immediately apparent. Several weeks later, his broken leg was almost completely healed and all the other health issues markedly improved (which was clearly also a result of the work of Dr. Sharon Rasa of MKS). Today George feels like he is a new man, well on his way to full recovery.

Except for the one sister that was present at the constellation, none of the other siblings had any knowledge of the constellation process that George had done. Yet only a few weeks later, all of them started spending time together without any conscious initiative on anyone’s part. I have been told recently that all siblings have shifted into a new relationship with one another.

A simple test we’ve all had at the doctor’s office is having our patellar reflex tested. This is when the doctor takes a reflex hammer and taps our knee. Instantaneously, our knee jerks and the degree to which the knee “jerks” provides valuable information for the doctor as part of his/her exam findings.

We can think of this simple test as Bioenergtic testing. Bioenergetic simply means (bio) body (energetic) autonomomic nervous system, which is what we are tapping into. Muscle testing is another form of bioenergetic testing which was initially developed in the United States by a chiropractor, Dr. George Goodheart, who developed applied kinesiology in 1964. The journal Chiropractic & Osteopathy published a review on the reliability and validity of manual muscle testingin 2007. (Scott C Cuthbert and George J Goodheart Jr, Chiropractic & Osteopathy 2007,15:4doi:10.1186/1746-1340-15-4).

I first became certified in Applied Kinesology and later moved to a more complete system developed by Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD., known as Autonomic Response Testing (ART). ART is a comprehensive diagnostic system that uses changes in muscle tone as a primary indicator; click here to see us demonstrate it on one of our patients. Dr. Klinghardt has since taken muscle testing to an entirely different level, to where ART can be used to understand and gauge how different interventions can influence a person’s pathology.www.multiplekineticsystems.com

After years in practice, and relying reading lab tests, it quickly revealed the inconsistencies, unreliability and incompleteness of only conducting blood, urine or hair labs. Many books written by highly credentialed individuals have been published about this subject. A good example of this is thyroid disease. It is one of the most missed diagnoses in the U.S. because the current method of testing is so unrefined it often produces many false positives or completely misses the diagnosis. This is true for Lyme disease as well. In fact, doctors who specialize in thyroid disease will often treat only on the clinical picture and dismiss the negative lab findings and see remarkable improvement in their patients.

When I was first introduced to Dr. Klinghardt’s 5 levels of healing model and his diagnostic method called ART, I decided to learn as much as I could and become as proficient in this method to help my patients achieve greater results. That is where my journey began.

Patients with Lyme disease are often not only dealing with the borrelia burgdorfi but also the underlying infections that coexist with chronic lyme. After attending the recent ILADSconference, the premiere medical conference for lyme literate doctors in the world, it was clear they did not agree on which lab test was the gold standard for Lyme disease. In fact, the one thing they could agree on was the Western Blot and Eliza was basically useless.

One of the greatest challenges in treating chronic Lyme disease, and chronic illness in general is discerning not only the infections that are present in the body, but also the cogs in its biochemical wheel that are missing or broken.

ART Definition: When a substance is placed over an area of your body that contains this identical substance, a stress signal is elicited, which makes a strong indicator muscle go weak.

ART can reveal not only all of the infections present in the body such as: bartonella, babesia and mycoplama, it can also detect which body tissues it is stored in. Lyme will often present with a body burden of heavy metals, solvents and unresolved emotional trauma. ART helps the trained practitioner assess this burden and create a custom protocol unique to each patient.

ART testing enables the practitioner to discern where infections are located in the body and whether specific organs, tissues or systems are being affected. By understanding the pattern of dis-ease, it illuminates for a trained practitioner not only the body burden, but how to develop a 3 tiered treatment protocol to include not only the infections, but treatment to address the environmental toxins as well as unresolved emotional trauma.

Supporting and repairing the body is just as important as eliminating infections and ART can determine the priority. Having this information eliminates the need to play the “trial and error” game on a patient, thereby accelerating the healing process. Much time and money is wasted on remedies that simply don’t work or even worse are causing blocked regulation of the autonomic nervous system.

There are many other applications of ART, including dental testing, hormone balancing, allergy testing and food allergy elimination, detoxing from drug residues, testing for and eliminating neurotoxins, determining and treating for microorganisms and stealth pathogens, eliminating infections, determining and treating underlying psycho-emotional issues and much more.

Why don’t more doctors use bio-energetic testing? For one thing, it requires time. Time is something most doctors don’t have. In my office, the minimum visit is 30 minutes and most patients are seen one to two hours; my experience has shown that’s what it takes to provide health care that is patient centered and customized.

For a deep cut get the stitches, for a broken limb go to the emergency room. For true wellness care, go a practitioner who embraces a broader view of what whole body health is and is willing to spend the time with each patient to provide it.

The following are my thoughts about a recent newsletter I have read from Bill Gross managing director of PIMCO, one of the worlds largest bond companies. Bill Gross does not publically have any thoughts on integrative or holistic health care, but his latest newsletter Run Turkey Run shines light on the bigger picture. This post shares excerpts from his latest post

http://www.pimco.com/Pages/RunTurkeyRun.aspx

Mr. Gross starts his newsletter with the following. . . . .They say a country gets the politicians it deserves or perhaps it deserves the politicians it gets. Whatever the order, America is next in line, and as we go to the polls in a few short days it’s incumbent upon a sleepy and befuddled electorate to at least ask ourselves, “What’s going on here?” Democrat or Republican, Elephant or Donkey, nothing much ever seems to change. Each party has shown it can add hundreds of billions of dollars to the national debt with little to show for it or move our military from one country to the next chasing phantoms instead of focusing on more serious problems back home. This isn’t a choice between chocolate and vanilla folks, it’s all rockyroad: a few marshmallows to get you excited before the election, but with a lot of nuts to ruin the aftermath.

Now I am a dentist not an economist, but this message impacts me and my patients for the foreseeable future. For the last two years I have seen how the banking and liquidity crisis that we all have lived through has affected my patients. It has created dental anxiety! Not the kind that most people normally associate with dental treatment. The fear and anxiousness that I have seen my patients grapple with has more to do with the uncertainty of the future, specifically how their health care dollars spent today may be needed tomorrow in other areas of their life.

Bill Gross goes on to infer that the fear created by our present two party system distracts us from the salient issues our government needs to address. He says was it relevant in 2004 that John Kerry was or was not an admirable “swift boat” commander? Will the absence of a mosque within several hundred yards of Ground Zero solve our deficit crisis? Is Christine O’Donnell really a witch? Did Meg Whitman employ an illegal maid? Who cares! We all are being conned, folks; Democrats and Republicans alike.

His solution is to vote No, as we have the power. These politicians work for us don’t they? He suggests that a collective rejection of the status quo will bring about a true third party, and true change.

As I alluded to in the beginning of this post this may seem to be slightly off topic for a holistic health forum, or is it? I have always focused my attention to what I can do to help my patient’s care be easier both from a treatment and financial perspective. When my care is being interfered with either by a distraction within the office or from the powers that be, then it becomes my problem. I guess this newsletter from Bill Gross was my tipping point, what will yours be?

Wasn’t it George Washington who said when people rule we have liberty, but when government rules then it is tyranny.

Let us know what you think? Are your health care decisions affected by outside forces? By creating a conversation, and local interest we can work together to overcome.

This depicts the holographic / holistic nature of the human being & the universe. The 5 levels is also based upon this principle

We have all by now heard of Lyme disease or at least know someone who has health issues they say are related to lyme. People present with a plethora of symptoms:

Extreme Fatigue, Headaches of all types, recurrent fevers, chills, night sweats, myalgias and arthralgias, muscle weakness, joint pain, sleep disturbances, cranial nerve dysfunction, panic attacks, depression, irritability, ADHD, mood swings, loss of math skills, and language problems, visual impairment, rage attacks, OCD, mental processing and concentration problems to name a few.

So why are more and more people being diagnosed with Lyme disease? There are many theories, but my observations tell me it is more than just being bitten by a tick, flea, bed bug or sand fly…it is about our immune system and its lack of ability to keep these pathogens down and under control. In fact, recent research shows Borrelia Burdorfi and its co-infections can be transmitted through the placenta and by other vectors than just ticks.

The Lyme pathogen, Borrielia Burgdorferi has been around since the beginning of time and has become the most common vector –borne illness of our time. Why is our immune system not able to keep Lyme disease and other infections at bay? Our immune system appears to be working on overtime…trying to clear too many issues at one time. In this state, something is bound to give! Our internal and external environment is loaded with many foreign substances that our immune system is working on identifying and eliminating. Our bodies end up in a chronic state of inflammation, as a response to this build up of toxins. It’s just not all Lyme!

Just add a few toxins, some preservatives and chemicals in our food, a few immunizations, chemicals on our skin and hair, lets drink some plastic with our water, add a few bites of hormones in our meat, breath in some chemical scented air fresheners, and add some electromagnetic frequencies of a microwave, cell phone, modem, computer to stir the pot…and test our immune system. Then add one little tick bite or a major emotional stressor and watch the house tumble down or possibly shut down!

We need to understand our bodies and learn when we are under attack internally and externally and know what to do to bring down the body burden and support our organs and body systems. This is the preventative measures we can incorporate into our personal health care.

We cannot live in a bubble but need an arsenal of ways to counteract the attack we are under daily.

Last week MKS was represented at the ILADS, International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society Conference, held in Jersey City, NJ. Participants included world renowned Lyme literate medical MD’s, researchers and patients to come and share their experiences and insights with testing and treatments for Lyme disease. Although much has been discovered as far as treatment options, we observed a major gap in the “experts” current medical model of health care in understanding how the “terrain” or our environment both internal and external, effects how our body can deal with Lyme effectively. Our immune system is designed to fight off this bug, but why are we not able to combat this naturally? What has changed?

For us at MKS we understand how emotions are tied to pathogens are tied to bacteria and viruses, related to our environment. We understand the importance of clearing the path for our bodies to rid itself of these issues. Our patients have success with this approach.

What can we do to clear the effects of chronic Lyme disease once we have it and balance our bodies? Contact us at MKS and we can guide you along this path.

We are hosting a screening of a documentary film, “Under Our Skin”, about the controversy, and issues our society is now facing with Lyme disease. We invite you all to come and learn with us next Tuesday evening at 7pm. A lively discussion will follow the film and we can discuss options to help clear your terrain. We look forward to your input!
