Relais International is pleased to announce sponsorship of one annual Rethinking Resource Sharing Innovation Award for each of the next three years. The Rethinking Resource Sharing (RRS) Innovation Award recognizes and honors an individual or institution for changes they made to improve users’ access to information through resource sharing in their library or consortium, locally, regionally or even internationally. It is hoped that the award will encourage libraries and librarians to make changes in how they do resource sharing to improve service to users. RRS looks for efforts where people didn’t wait for the profession to provide better services for users.

Clare MacKeigan, COO of Relais International, says “we are extremely pleased to sponsor this award. It is important that we recognize leadership and innovation in the resource sharing library community.” Relais International will sponsor one award each year for the next three years.

The Rethinking Resource Sharing Initiative is an ad hoc group that advocates for a complete rethink of the way libraries conduct resource sharing in the context of the global internet revolution and all of the developments that have arisen from that. The group is advocating for a revolution in the way libraries conduct resource sharing.

Credo Reference’s Company Mission is “To bring to worldwide learners and librarians electronic reference products that they simply cannot live without.” Credo takes this mission seriously and was extremely pleased when Library Journal’s 2009 E-Reference Ratings awarded Credo the highest score in the general reference category! (And the only perfect score among all 176 electronic reference resources evaluated.) In these times of difficult decisions, Credo has recently introduced a new subscription level – Credo 250. This packaging option allows customers to select 250 titles from our entire General Reference collection. This new option provides flexibility to libraries looking to maximize their resource investments in a challenging budget environment.

OUP is pleased to offer a sale on one-time purchases of Oxford Digital Reference Shelf titles, valid until March 31st. OUP is also offering 50% off a new subscription to Oxford Reference Online Premium. For a new library OROP subscription, libraries can get either a 4-month sub or 16-month sub, in order to stay on the normal renewal cycle. Remember that the DRS titles seamlessly integrate into the OROP database. For libraries that don’t have a sub to OROP, each of the DRS titles will be accessed individually through their URL (they wouldn’t cross-search).

If any MLNC member would like to take a look at DRS, OUP has set up a “sneak peek” trial for a few of the titles. You can use “sneakpeak” as both username and password for accessing:
