While Williams' footwork and head movement certainly could use improvement, it was her, not Ducote, that was the counter-striker in this fight. As far as taking damage, Ducote took the brunt of the damage in this fight as well. With so many fighters with good records but relatively untested in Bellator's flyweight division, it will be interesting to see how Williams does against them. I'm not sure if Ducote rates being called "the perennial number two flyweight in Bellator" when she has yet to fight any of them.

As an aside, does anyone know what's up with 5-0 Anastasia Yankova? It's been nearly a year since she last fought and I see nothing even scheduled for her. You'd think they'd be lining her up for Ilima-Lei.

"Bust" seems way too strong a word. Also, it would depend on what scale you're using: Bang for the Buck - ok, he might be a bust on this criteria, Attention drawn - based on the placement of his fights on cards I'd have to say he's done quite well, Personally - he leveraged the exciting Diego win into a lucrative Bellator offer and 2nd UFC contract so I'd say he did pretty well for himself.

Also Gilbert's situation is a good example of what's wrong with MMA judging/scoring (although I HATE when they refer to "scoring" or "points" as that is the pathway to destruction for MMA. MMA judging is an opinion so will always be subjective and using Boxing as a template is a terrible idea but the ABC seems to be on the way to making it better with the report that they're going to change the language of what 10-8 rounds should be. The bottom line is that close fights should be looked at in an entirely different light than one-sided decisions, of which Gilbert has never been on the losing side of one. While it's nice to see a winner, the "FightFinder" syndrome causes opinions like these imo. Having only been finished once in his career, winning 2/3 of the Thomson trilogy, and the quality of opposition of the opponents throughout his career should be more than enough to ensure that until he experiences a Hendo-like obvious decline, he is constantly mentioned among the best LWs in the world.
