The momsunitedinbusiness.com domain is in transition to a new site featuring all things MUIB. Things have grown so much, that we needed a separate site for updates, info on all the sister sites, plus an area for spiritual, personal and professional support and articles. A New Beginning

Dear MUIB Family and Friends,

As I sit down to write everything in my heart, I realize this may be a bit long. I would apologize, but my friends, this has been a long time coming.

I have cried so many tears of joy. After years of searching, after hitting my knees over and over, God has set my heart and spirit on fire. I finally "feel" it within. I thought God had stopped talking to me. I thought He had stopped listening. In His infinite glory, in His perfect timing, He was preparing me for this. I now REALLY understand, not only with my mind, but finally with my heart, He loves me! The love and acceptance I have searched for my entire life has been there all along, within me, for God's spirit has been, and will always live within me.

I had come to a place where I could not stand my own hypocrisy. The motto of my life had become, "Do as I Say and Not as I Do." What do I mean by this? My parenting is a prime example. I was asking from my children what I did not do myself. In my business, I encouraged women, I motivated them, I "preached" to them all the time to seek God's purpose for their lives, yet it had become words. Words of what I wanted. Words of who I wanted to be, not who I had become.

We recently took a vacation to the mountains to visit and spend time with family. Prior to this, I had become stressed to the max. I had been looking forward to this trip, looking forward to the peace that always seems to fill my heart each time we visit. I was looking forward to quality time with my husband, and my children. Time to breathe.

A few nights before we left, I just let go and cried out to my sisters. I told them how I had been asking God to come into my heart. I wanted that "something" that I knew I was missing in my life. I knew I could not keep going the way I was. I felt like I was running around in circles, expending an abundance of energy, yet getting nowhere fast. I did not feel His presence, and I felt as if He was ignoring me...once again I felt "not good enough". I went on to share with my sisters how I had always longed for a Christian lifestyle, that spiritual fire, that passion for God that would exceed my own fear of what people think of me. I wanted us to pray together, to have a God loving and God fearing husband. We had begun the journey, and things went well, but somehow I felt we were just going through the motions, because we were suppose to....the fire and passion I needed was not in my heart, as much as I craved it.

With a heavy heart, we packed for our mountain trip. I hoped getting away from the fast pace of our lives that I could find the connection, the peace and relationship I was so desperately seeking with Him. The mountains have always had a spiritual effect on me. It was as if that was the one place I could really feel Him, to reconnect.

We had a nice visit with our family. However, the peace I had been seeking was not found. I was short tempered with my husband and my children. I still felt stressed out, exhausted and spent. I had hoped our trip would renew my spirit, soften my heart and get me closer to what I needed. My desire to have relationship with God had become an urgent NEED. It was no longer a desire, a want. I needed Him.

As I was packing for our return trip home, I felt a sense of dread, and dashed hope. I felt defeated. Something obviously was lacking within me, and though I had cried out to God, and had even shared the true feelings of my heart with my own sisters OUT LOUD (not easy for me seeing as I am so worried about what others think of me, and thinking they may have thought I had finally lost my everloving mind, that I had indeed gone off the deep end, as expressing my Christianity with such emotion and desperation has not been "me"...all other areas of my life, well I live out loud!)... I did not find what I was searching for in the beautiful mountains. I was not looking forward to returning home, to the chaos and stress, to the absence of peace.

Then it happened. We were riding down a mountain road, headed home. I felt a bit numb at this point, and IT happened. God spoke to me. God spoke to my heart.

"You are not grateful. You will not find the peace and abundance you seek until you have a grateful heart. I cannot give you what you desire until you are grateful for what I have already given you."

I laughed out loud. Tears filled my eyes, and I felt His spirit in my heart. My husband was driving, and he looked at me puzzled. I just looked at him and said, "I'll talk to you about it later."

I needed to process this. God WAS talking to me!!! How do I know? Well, for those of you that know me, know I speak ("preach") of gratitude all the time. As far as I was concerned I was the most grateful woman on the face of the earth. As far as gratitude was concerned, I had that covered! As I write this, I know God is laughing. The irony with all of this does not escape me. NEVER in a million years would I have even thought this about myself, NEVER.

God put me in my place. He showed me what was in my heart, that true gratitude was not living there. Talk about hypocrisy! Leave it to the Lord to reveal to us, in His perfect timing, what we do not and cannot face about ourselves.

I felt such joy in my heart, that God was talking to me it took a few minutes for His words, His truth, to sink in. Not grateful. Me not grateful......Me? Wow, me. He's right. Not one part of me even had the audacity to argue with Him. The truth was out. I have been ungrateful. I have not appreciated what I have. I have taken everything in my life for granted, EVERYTHING.

It was as if at that moment, I had a new set of eyes. The view of my world, my life was in clear and perfect focus. It was as if I had been given an otherwordly gift of sight. I saw my home in a different light. I looked at my husband and my children in a new light. I was seeing my life for the first time with gratitude. True, real, spiritual gratitude. The feelings of "gratitude" I thought I had, the words I had written up until this point had no meaning. They were words without real substance. Words without the overwhelming emotion of true and real gratitude. For the first time in my life I was grateful.

My heart was not only overflowing with gratitude that God was talking to me, but with love and gratitude for all He had given me. I no longer saw the lack in my life. I began seeing for the first time the abundance that had been there all along.

I came home and shared this with my sisters. This right here could be a book in itself, but let's just say God has not only began working in my own life, but has made His presence known with my sisters too. My middle sis and niece are home while my brother-in-law is serving his second tour in Iraq, and our baby sister and her husband are expecting their first baby. Let's just say some awesome, amazing, spiritual things have been happening with all of us. I cannot even write about the gratitude I feel that my sisters are sharing this journey with me. We are all in different places spiritually, and God is using us to help one another to move forward and become closer to Him.

Now, as a lot of you know, we are in our very first year of homeschooling. We did not decide to homeschool solely for religious reasons. Do you hear that? That is God laughing again. WE did not decide to homeschool for solely religious reasons, but HE led us to the path of homeschooling for religious reasons. We are homeschooling with Christian curriculum and Bible study, and my daughter had begun to feel the spirit of God in her own heart, yet I felt once again like a hypocrite, going through the motions yet not feeling that fire I craved and longed to share with my children.

We joined a local homeschool organization. The first meeting we went to, the prayer director opened the meeting with a dynamic prayer. My daughter leaned over and whispered to me, "Mama, I want to learn how to pray like that!". I told her I did too. I knew then and I know now, that prayer like "that" comes from a spirit that is on fire for the love of God, a heart that is filled with passion, and the Spirit. That is something that cannot be taught. Now, I don't believe there is a right way or a wrong way to pray. What I do know, is that I want to have that same fire and passion within my own heart for my own prayers to light the fire of spirit in others. Me? Well, I am not there yet. I have to "unschool" myself. My upbringing in the church was that of reverence. Again, there is nothing wrong with that. Yet, it just didn't feel right for me. Yet, I have a long way to go before I can let go and stop worrying about what others may think of me. I do believe I am on the right path, and as my spiritual fire grows I will no longer be able to hold back.

Our second meeting was Tuesday night. My husband, my life partner and homeschool partner went with me. Knowing this group is mostly made up of homeschool moms, I was worried what others would think of me bringing my husband along. Again, worried what others think of me. I know now God wanted him there with me, and that my husband is to share this journey with me.

I had volunteered to be a "greeter" for Tuesday nights meeting. I am so incredibly shy. I was so nervous. My hands were sweating, and I was so afraid someone would want to shake my hand and walk away wondering what in the world was wrong with me. I mean, this was only my second meeting, being such a newbie, how foolish would I look if someone had questions and I came across as clueless. So, I prayed. As I got out of the van, I felt that sense of peace. I felt courageous and just knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Being a greeter went well. It has been a long time since I have been out in the "real" world, and had to be face to face instead of behind a computer screen, but I met new people and everyone was so nice and friendly.

Then the meeting began. The topic of the discussion was, Help! I'm a Homeschool Mom! Let me tell you, I felt like her entire message was directed at me. Now, I know everyone else was there for a reason, and felt the same way. I witnessed a candid, tell it like it is, kindred spirit. It took me hearing her to finally understand it is ok to be me. It is ok to not be like everyone else. It is ok to have a dusty house, messy and such (wow, I was feeling validated!). I could go on and on about her words and how they really reasonated with me. I will tell you that meeting changed me. REALLY changed me. I came home knowing I can do this, I was able to see my children, my home, our journey in a whole new light, a new perspective. After the meeting I did tell her that she made a difference in my life and the life of my family. I knew it before I walked out the door, but I had no idea the impact until we came home. God is working. He has changed me, my heart, and has placed me in the path of others that have been able to teach me things I needed to know. My spirit is on fire.

Now, God has asked me this, "What are you going to do with it?"

I do not want to lose this, this fire I have searched for my whole life. I will use my life, my gifts, the talents God has given me, and I will use them to glorify Him. I will no longer be quiet about my faith, worried about how others may perceive me. I will use everything I have to keep the fire alive within me, to share this journey with anyone and everyone who will listen, and pray that I can be used as an instrument to help light the hearts of others on fire for Him.

On that note, my organization, Moms United in Business LLC, has been a business with a lot of Christian undertones. Yet, out of fear, I have not used it for the purpose it began. I have said it over and over again that God planted the seeds in my heart for MUIB.

Notice to all MUIBers: Our organization from this day forward will be used as a ministry, an avenue of Christian women to grow their businesses for the glory of God. Now, I understand that some of you may be saying, I did not sign up for this. I realize that I may lose a lot of members over this. Some may even become angry with me. That's ok. My hope is, that no matter where you are in life's journey that you choose to stay with us, and travel with us in this new direction. Until now my fear and need for acceptance worried I would turn people off, or away from MUIB (that I see now, I viewed as an extention of me, my ego and my need for validation). I am no longer afraid, or fearful. The spirit of the Lord is leading me. I will not apologize for that. This is no longer about me, my ego, my need for acceptance and validation. I do apologize that that is what it MUIB become.

Happy Anniversary MUIB!

Dear MUIB Family and Friends,

MUIB started 3 years ago this month as merely an idea, a passion and a personal need to connect with other moms that understand the unique lifestyle of working from home, while making family a top priority. What was only dream, a possibility has become a reality. What amazes me, is that MUIB has not only had an impact on my own life, but has been an avenue to make a difference in the lives of others. I could not be more grateful!

We have had many members just starting out in the world of working from home, that are now generating enough income to replace their former work outside the home salaries. Many business connections and friendships have been made and lasted and continue to flourish.

The personal support and connection through MUIB has helped yet other members find the strength to get out of unhealthy domestic situations and make a fresh start for their children and themselves. Members have shared and found support during the most trying times of their lives as they have faced many medical illnesses, including cancer. Others have banned together to offer support and encouragement through marital issues, depression, addictions, etc.

Then there is the humerous side of our MUIBers! Life gets a bit serious at times, but it never fails, even those facing very dire life circustances have been able to find joy, humor and share the lighter side of life...

We have learned so much for one another! We have grown. We continue to grow, overcoming obstacles, and then facing new ones. The spirit of our members, our sisterhood, the MUIB family is one of support, passion, understanding and a true desire to not only have personal success, but to help others do the same.

With over 1,300 members of the MUIB site, and over 770 members in the MUIB yahoo group (that we recently re-opened due to member requests!)...with new members every day, I can only say without hesitation...I am amazed!

Dream BIG ladies! Never give up. We are just getting started! If I can take a dream, and begin it as a yahoo group and turn it into what MUIB is today, there is no doubt you can make your own dreams a reality!

What's my secret? MUIB could never have even taken off, had I not had the love and support of the original members of the MUIB yahoo group...and they are still my support system today. Lori Homeyer, Angie Vinez and Julianne Wish have supported me from day one. Without each of these wonderful members that I now consider my dearest friends, MUIB would have not been possible!

Let MUIB be your support system, both personally and professionally. Support and true friendship is really the ultimate key to success!

Things have been hectic here, but wow! After only 3 days of homeschooling, I have already seen more improvement than in the last 3 years. All doubts as to whether or not this was the best decision for our family have been put to rest!

I am not working during the week, but am making time to work on the weekends....publishing ads, marketing, advertising and all things MUIB. Dear MUIB Family and Friends,

Summer is coming to a close, and the holiday season is fast approaching! Can you believe how quickly the last few months have passed? Before we know it, 2009 will be merely a memory and 2010 will be here!

There is never a dull moment here at my house. Life with a tween, a 2 year old, a 3 year old and a 7 month old is definitely an adventure. Balance still escapes me, but you know.....that's ok! I can honestly say I am happy and content with my life as it is (most of the time), and even on the craziest days I would not trade this phase in my life for anything (ok, well maybe an occasional day off, being able to go to the bathroom without an audience, and a yearly vacation!). Balancing motherhood, marriage, business and homeschooling is challenging, but it beats having a boring mediocre life.

Where are you in your own life? Are you trying to be someone you are not, attempting to be a carbon copy of what you think is expected of you as "Super Mom" or "Super Woman"? Or...do you accept and celebrate the woman you are, knowing deep down you are unique and beautiful accepting your faults but focusing on your strengths?

This is my daily (life's) journey. I am getting closer to complete acceptance, but I do succumb to the pressure of what is "expected" and those negative voices still creep up every so often. The irony is, thanks to my sister having an honest discussion with me recently, I realized the pressure of what is "expected" of me is my own doing.

Meaning? Meaning that I expect more of myself than anyone else does. My expectations at times are so high that no one human being could even come close to what I expect of myself. You know something, I am a pretty amazing woman. I am an awesome mom and wife. I have been given a gift to use my own talents and my own personal journey to make a difference in the lives of many many women. So, the laundry gets behind. I really do need to tackle some projects here around the house. But you know, life is short, and when it comes to priorities I think I have done a fabulous job. I have happy, healthy kids. I have a really strong marriage. Blessings abound. I do need to make more time for myself...working on that too!

Yep...I am not perfect, but still I am pretty amazing...

Let's take a look at how this can benefit you.

1. Customer Service - When you purchase products from a work at home mom, 9 chances out of 10, you will receive one on one customer service. You won't have to call into a switch board and talk to someone who really doesn't care about you.

You will find that the majority of women who have a home based business, really dedicate a good portion of their business into providing you with excellent customer service and one on one attention.

2. Convenience - You don't have to waste your time driving to a local department store, fight for a parking space and worse yet...fight the rude crowds and sales clerks that are in the store.

You can have your products personally delivered to you by the seller herself or via a alternate shipping method. Shopping from your 'seat' is more convenient than spending a day running around from store to store to find something that you need.

Cheap Ideas to Market during Down Times

It’s not just you, but everyone is tightening their belts during these times. And it’s not even related to your newfound resolve to save as much as you can; but it’s a result of what’s occurring right now to our economy. Yup. We’re in recession. And this would be a very good time for you to practice prudence when advertising your business.

More than ever, now is the time that you need to make certain that you get the highest return from your investment. The economic crunch doesn’t mean that you have to stop advertising altogether to save your money. Instead, you have to market even more – but with cost-effective marketing strategies. Here’s how:

1 - Indulge in word-of-mouth advertising. This is the most effective form of marketing any business. And guess what? It’s absolutely free! You don’t need to invest precious dollars on this type of advertising. You need however, to provide a standout service – stellar customer service, that is. It takes a commitment from you to give more than the regular service to your clients. Going the extra mile for your customers can go a long way in getting you ahead of the game, especially that most of your competition is cutting back on value-added services. During these times, people will be looking out for those who can give them more value for their dollars. So you’ll definitely stand out if you do. And word will spread about your business. It’s a guarantee.

2 - Write and publish. Not just print articles on printing flyers, custom flyers or even booklet printing. You can also go online by posting keyword-rich articles on the many websites found in the Internet. Published articles can definitely improve your status as an expert in your field. So provide credibility to your business. Publish as much as you can online or off.

3 - Get creative. Use all available space when printing flyers or your business cards. The back side is often the most ignored part of your collaterals; yet it can be your space to advertise more than your regular fare. Don’t hesitate to maximize that blank space. Provide your clients with valuable information and encourage them to pass along your custom flyers and business cards to a friend or a colleague.

4 - Take advantage of cross-promotions. There are other businesses that would gladly connect with you to market their own. You can share the cost of printing flyers for example. Cross-promoting is a very practical way to market as it provides a means for businesses to cut back on expenses without having to curtail the amount of marketing. There are many businesses out there that can complement yours. So connect with other business owners and provide referrals to increase each of your client base.

Advertising need not be expensive especially that there are cost-effective ways to go about it. All you need to do is be creative and you won’t have to lose your edge over your competition.

10 Mistakes of WAHMs and How to Avoid Them
***I have received many requests to repost this again and again, so here ya go (again)!

1. Being a social networking butterfly: Joining many networking sites without taking the time to truly connect on a personal level with members. Not building quality relationships, only looking out for #1 to increase sales and profit.

Solution: Narrow down your networking groups to 1-3 and commit yourself to taking time to truly connect with other members. It is not the number of connections you make that contributes to your success, but the quality of your connections and relationships. Not sure what sites/groups you want to devote your precious free time to? Really investigate what each site/group has to offer and if you feel at home there. While one site/group may be an awesome networking source for another WAHM it may not be a perfect fit for you. Find the sites/groups that are inline with your personality, your own goals and that you actually enjoy being a member. Social Networking online, also referred to as Web 2.0, can be very time consuming. Don't waste your time being a social butterfly getting nowhere fast. Use your time wisely and narrow down your social networking avenues.

2. Advertising/Spamming: Promoting your business anywhere and everywhere with no regard for professional networking or building relationships with potential clients/customers.

Solution: While using ad groups, forums and advertising networking sites can be beneficial it should not be the only marketing campaign you use. You should not waste time spending hours upon hours sending out email blasts and the like. When you have been in business long enough you will see that these methods of making sales do not really work all that well, if at all. Use ad groups and lists in moderation. Nothing screams unprofessional more than a spammer. I see the same WAHMs over and over again posting the same ads in various forums and groups and most of the times those are the same ones that complain about how much time they spend working their business without monetary results.

3. Using poor grammar and spelling: Not taking the time to proofread emails (even social/personal emails), not bothering to capitalize words when appropriate, and multiple spelling errors.

Solution: This too screams unprofessional. We all make mistakes, typos and the like. However, and I know you have seen them, those that post without care or thought into what they are writing. Take the time to proofread all posts and emails. Your written words have as much of an impact online as first impressions have off line.

4. Expecting instant results: Being in business a matter of days, weeks or months and expecting a steady income.

Solution: Understand that most home based businesses do NOT see an actual profit within the first year, and a lot do not see a steady income for up to 3 years. Keep in mind, you reap what you sow, and if you continue to work hard, have patience and keep a steady pace you can be successful. Remember the fable the Tortoise and the Hare?

5. No follow up: Not following up with previous clients/customers or potential clients/customers.

Solution: Go above and beyond. Send a personal note or card via Snail Mail thanking your client/customer for their business. At the very least, send a follow up email immediately and then one more a few weeks or months down the road. A word of caution, be genuine, this is NOT the time to advertise your business. Do NOT send a note, card or email merely promoting your business or newest products. If mailing out a note or card, feel free to include your business card. Offer a newsletter through your site or blog for those interested in this kind of information.

6. Not using a signature tag in your emails or forum postings.

Solution: Always include a signature tag with your business links and brief info. While some groups and forums do not allow you to do this, a lot do. If it is allowed take advantage, if it is not, abide by the owner's rules and remove any signature tags when posting to those particular groups or forums. Keep your signature brief and to the point. It is aggrevating when a signature includes 20 links with information, huge banners or graphics. Again, this screams unprofessional.

7. No concrete short and long term goals.

Solution: Take the time to write out your short term and long term goals. This will keep you focused and on track. Planning is everything. Long term goals can include a year from now or more. Break down your goals to both weekly and daily goals to make them easier to accomplish and to keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

8. Lack of quality content on sites, blogs and in newsletters.

Solution: Use your sites, blogs and newsletters as avenues to connect with your visitors and readers. Do not use your sites, blogs and newsletters as only an avenue for advertising your products or services. Those are a dime a dozen. Keep your content fresh and geared to your target market. Offer them concrete information they can use or relate to. If writing your own content intimidates you, or is not your strength, use free reprint articles. There are thousands of free articles for reprint sites. Take advantage of them!

9. Not offering freebies/giveaways.

Solution: Offer exciting contests, freebies and giveaways. Nothing draws interest and traffic more than offering something for nothing. BNI (Business Networking International) uses the concept of "Giver's Gain". What does this mean? By giving of yourself, your time, and yes even your products, you will gain more in the end. You could also look at this as another example of you reap what you sow, or what some refer to as "kama". Give and you will receive.

10. Suffering from Burnout.

Solution: Make time for yourself! As wahms we are constantly giving to others, and while I do advocate the above concept, this includes giving to yourself as well. When you are stressed and suffering from burnout everyone and everything suffers. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. To be at your best and to not succumb to burnout you must pace yourself when juggling the stresses of work and family. You must make yourself a priority on your to do list. You will end up being more fulfilled, more content and more productive.

You have a purpose my friend. You can and you will do this....why? Because I was once like you, and I decided once and for all to do everything I can to be the woman God intended me to be. We get one life, one chance...do not waste it on fear, regret or self-loathing. ....Stop hiding in the shadows, stand up, stand out and SHINE....

It IS YOUR TIME to shine, my friend. This has been going on long enough. You can do this, and if you need a helping hand, a friend, encouragement, you can always count on me.

What Constitutes a Good Life? by Jim Rohn

The ultimate expression of life is not a paycheck. The ultimate expression of life is not a Mercedes. The ultimate expression of life is not a million dollars or a bank account or a home. Here's the ultimate expression of life in my opinion, and that is living the good life. Here's what we must ask constantly, "What for me would be a good life?" And you have to keep going over and over the list. A list including areas such as spirituality, economics, health, relationships and recreation. What would constitute a good life? I've got a short list.

1) Number one, productivity. You won't be happy if you don't produce. The game of life is not rest. We must rest, but only long enough to gather strength to get back to productivity. What's the reason for the seasons and the seeds, the soil and the sunshine, the rain and the miracle of life? It's to see what you can do with it. To try your hand, other people have tried their hand; here's what they did. You try your hand to see what you can do. So part of life is productivity.

2) Next are good friends. Friendship is probably the greatest support system in the world. Don't deny yourself the time to develop this support system. Nothing can match it. It's extraordinary in its benefit. Friends are those wonderful people who know all about you and still like you. A few years ago I lost one of my dearest friends. He died at age 53 - heart attack. David is gone, but he was one of my very special friends. I used to say of David that if I was stuck in a foreign jail somewhere accused unduly and if they would allow me one phone call, I would call David. Why? He would come and get me. That's a friend. Somebody who would come and get you. Now we've all got casual friends. And if you called them they would say, "Hey, if you get back, call me we'll have a party." So you've got to have both, real friends and casual friends.

3) Next on the list of a good life is your culture. Your language, your music, the ceremonies, the traditions, the dress. All of that is so vitally important that you must keep it alive. In fact it is the uniqueness of all of us that when blended together brings vitality, energy, power, influence, uniqueness and rightness to the world.

4) Next is your spirituality. It helps to form the foundation of the family that builds the nation. And make sure you study, practice and teach. Don't be careless about the spiritual part of your nature, it's what makes us who we are, different from animals, dogs, cats, birds and mice. Spirituality.

5) Next - here's what my parents taught me. Don't miss anything. Don't miss the game. Don't miss the performance, don't miss the movie, don't miss the show, don't miss the dance. Go to everything you possible can. Buy a ticket to everything you possibly can. Go see everything and experience all you possibly can. This has served me so well to this day. Just before my father died at age 93 if you were to call him at 10:30 or 11:00 at night, he wouldn't be home. He was at the rodeo, he was watching the kids play softball, he was listening to the concert, he was at church, he was somewhere every night.

Live a vital life. Here's one of the reasons why. If you live well, you will earn well. If you live well it will show in your face, it will show in the texture of your voice. There will be something unique and magical about you if you live well. It will infuse not only your personal life but also your business life. And it will give you a vitality nothing else can give.

6) Next are your family and the inner circle. Invest in them and they'll invest in you. Inspire them and they'll inspire you. With your inner circle take care of the details. When my father was still alive, I used to call him when I traveled. He'd have breakfast most every morning with the farmers. Little place called The Decoy Inn out in the country where we lived in Southwest Idaho. So Papa would go there and have breakfast and I'd call him just to give him a special day. Now if I was in Israel, I'd have to get up in the middle of the night, but it only took five minutes, ten minutes. So I'd call Papa and they'd bring him the phone. I'd say, "Papa I'm in Israel." He'd say, "Israel! Son, how are things in Israel?" He'd talk real loud so everybody could hear - my son's calling me from Israel. I'd say, "Papa last night they gave me a reception on the rooftop underneath the stars overlooking the Mediterranean." He'd say, "Son, a reception on the rooftop underneath the stars overlooking the Mediterranean." Now everybody knows the story. It only took 5 - 10 minutes, but what a special day for my father, age 93.

If a father walks out of the house and he can still feel his daughter's kiss on his face all day, he's a powerful man. If a husband walks out of the house and he can still feel the imprint of his wife's arms around his body he's invincible all day. It's the special stuff with the inner circle that makes you strong and powerful and influential. So don't miss that opportunity. Here's the greatest value. The prophet said, "There are many virtues and values, but here's the greatest, one person caring for another." There is no greater value than love. Better to live in a tent on the beach with someone you love than to live in a mansion by yourself. One person caring for another, that's one of life's greatest expressions.

So make sure in your busy day to remember the true purpose and the reasons you do what you do. May you truly live the kind of life that will bring the fruit and rewards that you desire.

How Often Should I Email My List?: Tips to Make the Right Decision for YOUR Business

Have you ever worried if you’re emailing your list too often? Have you had nightmares about losing subscribers, getting angry hate email and other horrible things?

You’re most certainly not alone. There is always a great debate on how much one should email their list. Some will boldly state appropriate intervals, but I haven’t a clue how anyone figures they can put out a blanket frequency rate for all lists, across all markets.

The fact of the matter is – there is no one size fits all for every email list, but here are some guidelines…

Stay in the Mind of Your Prospects & Customers

Your goal in email marketing is to keep your business in the minds of your prospects and customers. You also want to your readers to consider you the go-to source for information you share and the products you sell. If you email to infrequently, that could become problematic as they’ll just forget about you.

But what about the other side of the coin? Can you email too much?

Maybe, but what works best for your market and your list is up to you to test. You can look at open rates, response rates, etc. to help you determine what is best for you.

Personally, I email my Internet marketing list 2-3 times per week. It’s quite likely that some people don’t like it, but I’ve found this works very well in the grand scheme of things and I’m here to please the majority of my active subscribers. If you’re on my list, you know that I tend to write short emails. And amongst the product promotions I do, there is plenty of free stuff, information, etc.

In other markets I’ve dabbled with, I’ve also found a similar formula works. Stay in contact a couple times per week, keeping it short and sweet.

But does that mean you need to start emailing more often if you’re not already?

No, of course not. If you’re on a weekly schedule and it suits you fine, don’t sweat it, but you might start doing some testing.

For example, if you’re sending a weekly email that includes information on a few different subjects, try breaking it up into multiple emails. Remember, when you give your readers too many topics to focus on at one time, you diminish your chances of them paying attention to all those subject. Instead, send them one subject per email at a time and see how that improves your response rates.

Above all, think value

In the end, it’s not really the frequency that’s important…it’s the value you provide your subscribers. If you deliver tremendous value, your readers will look forward to and act on your emails.
