To celebrate the arrival of both spring and nine new members of our MVF family (we're still growing) the socials committee decided an Alice in Wonderland themed Culture Day would be a good idea, and they were right.

MVF EMPLOYEES have now got even more to shout about after being given a brand new discount key.

The red key fob gives workers discounts at a plethora of shops, cafes and salons around Kentish Town and Camden.

Hungry staff members can now get 20% off at the Assembly House, a pub near Kentish Town Station which prides itself on its traditional favourites and mouth-watering lunchtime treats.

SINCE THIS January just gone by, MVF has made twenty two hires, mostly graduates and for positions in all departments of the company. We have a tradition here, to give them a proper welcome on the last Friday of every month. We call it the New Starters’ Drinks.

Three New Board Members for MVF

MVF has welcomed three brand new members to its board.

The original eight members have been joined by Amanda Nuttall, HR Director, Dharmash Mistry, Non-Executive Director and Nick Belcher, Director of Consumer Offers.

The group will now help make decisions about the company, its direction and future.

Amanda, the first woman on the board, joined the company in April last year and in that time has hired about 82 people.

Before joining MVF, she ran her own consultancy which advised organisations on their recruitment and talent management strategy and provided a resourcing service.

MVF CEO Inspires Next Generation of Entrepreneurs At Oxford University

THE CEO of MVF spoke at an Oxford University entrepreneur conference about how to grow and sell a business to a packed auditorium of some of the finest minds in the UK.

Titus Sharpe spoke alongside other big business names including Lord Bilimoria, the founder of Cobra beer and Michael Hayman, co-founder of StartUp Britain.

He said: “Most people talk about how to build a start-up, but you have to think about its whole life cycle. Most entrepreneurs have a goal to sell the business at the end.”

MVF Bowlarama

A NEW kingpin was crowned recently, at our annual MVF Bowlarama.

Josh, a striking young man from the Email team, unleashed a kind of zen bowling that was too consistent and smooth for the rest of us to keep up. Usually we work and win as a team, recently ranking among the Sunday Times Best 100 Businesses to Work For, but the MVF Bowlarama is one of the few events in the MVF calendar that is about individual glory.

Josh’s zen bowling tip: “It’s not about how hard you bowl. Focus on the line and accuracy of where to hit the pins.”

MVF Scoops Sunday Times Award

CELEBRATION is in the air at MVF after the 130-strong team found out they scooped 84th place in in the Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to work for.

It was the first time the four-year-old company entered the prestigious list and MVF was praised heavily by the judging panel.

MVF was accredited with two stars, making it an 'Outstanding' company to work for and some of the staff were invited to attend a glitzy awards ceremony in South West London.

Yoga Club at MVF

MVF’s YOGA sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays after work, in the new space we have downstairs. After sitting at a desk for a number of hours it’s great to have the opportunity to do some meditative exercise and stretch the old limbs.

Many of us run, cycle or swim at lunchtime, but this is something to do after the workday ends. We have an open space, mats, and now our own Guru, named Petra. Without her, those of us who have never done yoga before wouldn’t know where to begin.

MVF Keeps On Giving

HERE at MVF, we work hard, we play hard and like to think we do our bit, with a big emphasis on charity in the MVF culture.

In 2012 alone, there were charity beers, beards and barbecues as well as a mega haul bike ride to Amsterdam, all in the name of fundraising.

But while this may be enough for most companies, MVF wanted to do more and Amy Catlow, head of SEO, decided to set up a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee.
