MAAC FT Competition procedures

MAAC FT competitions will follow the WFTF core rules.

Domenic and Gordon are in charge of range setup (others please give a hand).

All targets are painted yellow with black kill zone.

25 lanes with 2 target each, a total of 50 shots.

4 lanes must be positional (2 kneeling and 2 standing a total of 8 targets), all others free style.

All rifles must be under 12ftpds and .45mm caliber only.

3 minutes per lane, time starts before you sit down.

Competition fee is €5.00 per rifle, Nationals €10.

Competition starts 8:30 am sharp.

MAAC Bench Rest Competition procedures

3 Categories: under 12 ftpds PCP, under 12 ftpds Springer and Open.

Springer under 12 ftpds will be shot at 15 meters.

PCP under 12 ftpds will be shot at 25 meters.

Open will be shot at 40 meters.

PCP under 12 ftpds 2 target sheets per shooter, other categories 1 target sheet per shooter.

1^{st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for each category.}

^{No Nationals will be held and no league.

Rifles under 12 ftpds are subject to chroning before and during the competition.

Each shooter must declare that the rifle used in local competitions must be the same rifle he or she will use in Germany worlds if he or she places in the top 4.

In the case of springer shooters, since we do not have enough shooters to create a separate division, springers will compete together with PCP’s but will be given a grace of +15% on the score of each competition to compensate the rifle disadvantage.

Shooter must at least attend 4 competitions plus nationals to be entitled to benefit from KMS support.}

Course Design - MAAC Rules.

To make it more clear to all.

The number of reducers to be used on League Matches must not exceed 55% of the number of targets.

We are using 15 lanes each containing 2 targets. The first round is 30 targets then we shoot lanes 1 till 10 for the extra 20 targets to complete 50 targets.

55% is 28 targets hence we need to have at least 1 reducer target per lane that will amount to 25 reduced targets which is within specification.

For nationals can have up to 70% reduced targets that is equivalent to 35 targets.

Now for reducer sizes.
30mm up to 40 meters - Free style targets
20mm up to 30 meters - Free style targets
15mm up to 20 meters - Free style targets
20mm up to 20 meters - for Standing and Kneeling
30mm up to 30 meters - for Standing and Kneeling

Positional Targets can be up to 40 meters.

Beyond 40 meters all targets must be 40mm for free style.
Beyond 30 meters all positional targets up to 40 meters must be 40mm.

The number of positional shots (standing or kneeling) must not exceed 20% which is 10 targets for a league competition. For nationals and international events this can go up to 30% or 15 targets.

Hence in round 1 you will shoot lanes 1 to 15 total 30 targets out of which
16 are reduced (since lane 3 both are reduced) - 5 are positional -
In round 2 you shoot lanes 1 till 10 for total of 20 targets out of which
11 are reduced - 5 are positional.
This amounts to 27 Reduced (in spec) and 10 positional (in spec) out of 50 targets.

2011-2012 Field Target Season.

This next FT season will see some changes and will be conducted according to the NEW MAAC FT Core Rules that was just finalized this week. MAAC FT Core Rules

The season will be composed of MAAC FT league and MAAC FT Nationals.

League Matches.
There will be a number of FT Competitions (6+) as part of the league series.
Each Match will be logged and each competitor score will be recorded. The best 6 scores will be added to decide the 2011-2012 league winner on the last Match. This is to give every one the possibility to participate even if cannot attend all the Matches.

For each match the competitor will also be graded and an average grade will be automatically settled upon 6 matches irrespective of the number of matches the shooter attended.
The gradings are as follows :
Grade A shooters 80% Plus
Grade B shooters 70 - 79 %
Grade C shooter 60 - 69%
Grade D shooter up to 59%

Grading is required to promote better this sport and give chance to every one.
Because if the number of entries to a competition are adequate then prices can be set for grades and classes. Each Competition will have 2 standard classes PCP and Spring, other classes can be included.

Nationals.
The Nationals will be the peak of the MAAC FT season, this will be set on 2 or 3 matches that can be done in separate weekends. For one to qualify for the Malta team 2012, he/she must have at least took part in 3 league matches during the year. Others who did not participate this minimum may participate but only for the price and not the Malta Team Colors. The National Scores plus the best 3 scores from the League will be added for the TOP 5 Ranking irrespective of entry class.

The season competition schedule will be published in September and competitions will start in October 2011.

Dear All,

The program of air rifle events for the 2010/2011 season have been concluded. The committee would like to thank all the participants for supporting our events and all the helpers that prepared for these events. The air rifle committee will in the following weeks prepare the new schedule of events for year 2011/2012.

The last event that will be organized event before summer kicks in will be the one day paintball tournament which will be held on Saturday 25th June 2011 at the Extreme Paintball Range in Ta'Qali next to MFCC. We urge all MAAC members to come and watch/support this event.

Later 4 shooters from our club will be participating in the WFTF world championships in Italy on the 2nd , 3rd and 4th of September 2011 and we wish them all the good luck.

While we wish you and your families a beautiful summer we remind you that the range time on Sundays will be as usual.

MAAC Paintball - MOPL tournament

MAAC Paintball will organize the first Malta Official Paintball League.

This will be a 1 day league as a trial with 8 , 5 men teams in aid of Puttinu Cares.

The tournament will take place at the Extreme Paintball Range in Ta'Qali of Saturday 25th June 2011.

Each team entry fee is Euro 175 or Euro 35 per individual which will include all the equipment for players not owning any paintball equipment and minimum grantee of 8 games.

The kit includes :

Paintball full head mask.

Neck protector

Overall

Vest

Marker

CO2

Paintballs.

Each team will be also given 2500 rounds of paint. Extra paint can be pre ordered at a special discount rate of Euro 60 per box of 2000 on team registration. Extra paint will be available on the field at Euro 75 per box of 2000 or Euro 20 for 500.

The tournament is open to team and individuals. Any one interested and do not have a team of 5 friends may register and we will couple you in teams. Age 18 + if no TS-B available then must sign forms as presented by Extreme Paintball Commercial Range.

Shooters that have their own equipment must have a TS-B shooter license and show that the marker is registered. All private Markers and Extreme Paintball Markers will be chronoed and must confirm the speed limit of 280ft/s .

The tournament will kick off a 9am and all registered players must be at location around 8am.

The estimated time to finish is 18:00 hrs. Food and Drinks will be available at the venue. General public and members of MAAC are invited to attend even if not to participate.

The aim is to attract people into this sport but in the same time to help out with Puttinu Cares campaign.

WFTF Worlds 2011 - Expense Estimate.

Dear Members

Below please find an estimate breakdown of expenses required for participation at the WFTF 2011 in Italy. We have no guarantees but as done previously we will apply from Travelling Funds from KMS for this year 2011. Such funds if allocated will be distributed in 2012, on issue of expense report for the Worlds 2011. If funds are then allocated the transportation costs will be reimbursed to MAAC treasury whilst the remaining will be split equally on the shooters who took the initiative to participate on their own costs.

Malta has 8 reserved slots hence if you intend participate please confirm this by Sunday 27th March 2011. First come first served basis.

After the 27th March 2011 deadline we will proceed with bookings and reservations and we will inform WFTF Italia of the participants. There will be no grantee that other shooters can join the team.

World WFTF 2011 - Italy

The WFTF World registrations are now open. Those who are interested to join and participate in the WFTF worlds are to contact me personally. At the moment Italy is restricting the limit of 8 members from each RGB. There is some concern regarding this as some countries are opposing to the limit. Anyway until this is settled we need to provide a maximum of 8 interested members.

We have allowance for 5 shooters in the PCP team and 3 shooters in Spring Team.

According to the information I have we need to reserve not later the 11th February 2011.

MAAC Schedule

MAAC Paint Ball Section

MAAC rents the area as shown here hence all sections have the right to use this land.

To avoid clashes all sections will submit their activity programs related to VSR.

It is important to understand that if certain activities are ongoing members of other sections must not disturb or obstruct such activity. The Schedule will also be posted on the bill board at VSR.

Note Sections are allowed to organise activities through out the week.

Some Important Information to all members and non members.

Field Target Matches .

The FT Matches planned for 2011 are 4.
These are stand alone matches and the scores will not influence ranking or qualifications for the WFTF Worlds selection for Italy 2011 which will take place in Vicenza between the 2nd and 4th September 2011.
We have introduced a new Class, this is intended for members who have not previously competed in WFTF Worlds or HFT Worlds. This is intended to give opportunity to new shooters to get confidence and improve their ability.
We will be limiting FT to 12ftlbs ONLY.
Shooters will be allowed ONLY ONE class entry.
The WFTF Worlds selection will take place in June 2011 (date will be issued later). To participate in the WFTF Worlds Selection you need to participate in at least 5 MAAC competitions of which 3 FT as minimum and 2 others BR or HFT.

For these stand alone Matches we have the flowing classes:

1. PCP (sub 12ftlbs)

2. Springer (sub 12ftlbs)

3. New Shooters Class ( PCP/Springer sub 12ftlbs for shooters that did not participate in WFTF Worlds.)

HFT Matches

For HFT Matches we have the following classes. However MAAC reserves the right to keep on hold the Open High Power PCP / Spring class if there are unforseen problems.
Shooters may enter in both classes however the rifle must be within the class specification, a low powers air rifle cannot participate in a High Power Class.

Bench Rest

In bench rest we offer 3 classes as shown below.
Shooters can enter in any class with appropriate rifle specifications.

3. Spring (any Power) 15M

Competition Entry Fees.

For MAAC members the entry is Euro 6 per competition.
If the MAAC shooter has a multiple entry Euro 3 will be charged for any additional entry.
For Non - MAAC members who wish to participate the entry fee is Euro 8 per entry.
In the NON MAAC member has a multiple entry Euro 4 will be charged for any additional entry.

Training.

MAAC is officially open every Sunday from 07.00am till 12:00, at the Victoria Shooters Range limits of tal-Handaq.
MAAC members pay a range fee of Euro 2 and can stay at the range until VSR is closed.
Non MAAC members will pay a range fee of Euro 5 and are allowed to stay until 12.00 unless there is an agreement.
Shooters are allowed to use MAAC knock down targets, benches and br target holders .
Shooters are allowed to bring their own targets however these must not be fringable targets and must be cleared off the range once used.

MAAC to Transfer from VSR to Hal Far Shooting Range.

Dear Members,

As you are all aware of MAAC was literally grounded to to a halt with the latest developments at the Victoria Shooters Range. The area that was for quite some years being enjoyed by air rifle enthusiasts is now out of bounds for target shooting practice. Despite that the VSR Management tried to offer us an alternative this is neither good nor practical for our club to continue functioning correctly. The area provided temporally was to small and impractical to continue our FT/HFT and BR sporting activities.

However with the help of some members talk were started with Hal Far shooting range some months ago. These talks resulted in Hal Far Management to assign an area for Air Rifles withing their grounds. In addition to this also an area where airsoft and paintball can be practiced.

Applications were placed. We have now been granted the adhoc permit for next Sunday event and we are waiting confirmation for the permanent permit. This means that once the permanent is released, MAAC can start to function once again and as a complete club.

In the next few weeks MAAC committee together with the representatives of the Airgun, Airsoft and Paintball sections will work out on layouts of the assigned areas and an activity program that will commence as from January 2011. We need to get the ball rolling in all activities ASAP but also in a more organised manner. We lost valuable time and events, but we can recover in time for the WFTF Worlds that will be held in ITALY Vicenza from the 2nd till 4th September 2011.

I wish to see a strong Malta contingent going to ITALY in 2011, WFTF Worlds cannot be closer than that, so start planning it from now!.

The Airgun section will coordinate the assigned area for air rifle FT /HFT and BR shooting.

Airsoft and Paintball sections will coordinate the assigned area for this sport.

Members will be informed on schedules and procedures, range opening times and range rules accordingly.

With immediate effect MAAC will shift all activities and equipment t0 Hal Far.

MAAC will no longer be responsible for any airgun activities or airgun shooters that will be present at VSR. Any air rifle shooters shooting at VSR are under direct VSR management responsibility and conditions as soon as we implement the move and our term of payment expires.

MAAC members meeting point will be the Hal Far Shooting range once this is announced officially by MAAC.

MAAC - PAINTBALL EVENT - Friday 22nd October 2010

Attention to all

MAAC Paintball will conduct and other event on Friday 22nd October 2010 code named Operation Apocalypse Now or Never at the Ta' Qali Paintball field. The number of places are limited and booking is required. Please contact us by mail at maacmalta@gmail.com if you are interested to attend.

New players must be over 18 years of age and it is not required to have a Target Shooter B license since this is a commercial range and can hire you the equipment needed at the shown price.

All the equipment including safety equipment, clothing, markers and pinball's are supplied.

We recommend you to bring as extra - gloves and if you have them knee protectors. The event starts at 5.30pm sharp normal end time is around 9pm.

FT & BR combined competition - Sunday 14th November 2010

Dear Members

We are pleased to announce that MAAC will organize and FT & BR combined competition on Sunday 14th November 2010. This will allow sufficient time for you to plan and dedicate this day for this competition.

As you all know currently we cannot organize competitions at VSR due to the restricted space. Hence the committee is doing it's out most to try and keep you active. This competition also serves to show Hal-Far Range committe the activities and the sport which we as MAAC members have at heart. I urgue you to participate its very important for the club not for the medals or the trophies. Please give this a tought.

The competition will be composed of two air rifle disciplines.
40 FT targets with WFTF regulations - distance 10 - 50 meters and 1 BR (ERABSF) score card @ 25meters.

The shooters must possess a TS-B license and be members of MAAC.
They can start to register from 07:00 till 07:40
Kick off time 08:00
