Life passes by so fast.... Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years they just don't get in my hold... rather anyone's hold... sometimes i really think about this thing called 'LIFE' and a storm of thoughts surrounds me... U have family, friends, relatives but have u ever thought what if u leave the world tomorrow... No, I m not being pessimist and even in real life I m not a pessimist.. but I do get this thought many a times.. It has started recently, I don't know the reason but whenever I get this thought I just get a feeling of serenity.. What's the link between that thought and this feeling ?? I D-O-N-'T K-N-O-W...

Btw, I got the motivation to write something because of Arnab's comment...

There's atleast someone who visits and reads my blog... I have a widget about latest visitors and I do check that widget atleast once in 2-3 days and everytime there are new visitors but none of them comment... Again, I don't know why ??? If something is useful to u, can't u write a word or two to the author.. I don't say write good about my blog... If u don't like the blog just criticize it but atleast do that.... !!!!

Anyway, the days seem monotonous and the nights dreary... I just can't concentrate fully on my work... I just can't give my 100%... Sometimes it seems like Life is playing a game... A game where I am on the weaker side and to win I have to give more than 100%.... Also why do 'people' play such an important role... We don't care what our heart says, but we do care about what 'people' will say. We don't care about our wishes but we do care about what 'people' wish from us.... Why is it so ??? Why do we try to maintain an image which is liked by the people even though it is not what we want to become.... We just finish our lives living for others... This is something to ponder over...

Bhootnath !!

Hi folks !!!

Its been almost 3 and half months since i posted last...!! Time flies so fast !! Day by day I m getting busier and busier and get too less time to blog... Too sad... I don't even get time to find and try some new softwares like Yahoo Emotes or Lyrics Plugin !!

But recently i took out some time from this hectic schedule and went to watch "Bhootnath" with my cousins... From the trailers I had seen on TV, I had got a feeling that the movie is for kids and would watch it if I got time... ;) btw, i like kids' movies... So it was a hot Sunday night when we all went for the show...

The movie starts with a dreary scene which gives a feeling of a horror movie...The credits part of the movie has been developed brilliantly and I feel that its one of the most creative and wonderful credit part creation of all the movies I have seen....

The movie then suddenly jumps from a horror one to a lively family of three, who shift in 'Bhootnath's' house in Goa... The film has got the pranks of the kids and after the horror start of the movie there's nothing too scary for anyone... The first half i.e. till intermission the movie has all pranks and fun for the kids... In the second half the movie takes a sudden turn and moves to a somewhat family drama with a moral.... The second half is a must watch for all the youngsters of today and even parents I think...

The music of the movie is also good and the song in the second half is really awesome....

Anyway, its 12:00 AM and sleeping time for me... will write something more about the movie soon... and also hope to get hands on some new software....

A warm 'Hello' to all the patient readers of this blog... Don't be surprised on reading 'patient readers', bcoz m really very thankful to u all for ur patience to keep visiting my blog every now and then in search of a new post.. If u see the date of this post and the one below this one, the difference is more than a month, which is 'too much' in the blogging world.. In simple terms blogging is maintaining ur 'daily diary' online... But i have seen that just a handful are there who are able to fulfill this definition of blogging... Anyway, my life saw a BIG change within the past month and thts what i m going to share with u...
In the past month the main thing was tht i learned to live without the internet and emails... Just after two days of my last post, A craaaazzzyyyy 'Google' search !!?!?!! my phone went 'dead' and as a result my internet connection also collapsed... :( Initial days were like a trauma for me bcoz in those days i came to know tht i had been totally entangled in this online world and it wasn't possible for me, not impossible but atleast tooooo difficult for me to end my day without checking mails and a bit of surfing here and there... It seemed as if i was cutoff from the rest of the world... I was hoping tht the phone would be repaired within a day or two and again the situation wud be back to normal... But day by day the the chances of my phone getting back to life even after a week seemed bleak... I made a hell lot of calls with my mobile for complaining about my phone but the so called 'servants of the people' didn't seem to have any concern regarding this.. The same answer was thrown back at me everyday, 'ur problem will be solved within a day or two, our men are working on it' and this continued for almost 15-16 days after which my phone was repaired... so in the meantime my 'bad habit' and the addiction to the internet decreased to a great extent.. so tht was a plus point for me... nowadays the priority of the emails and net surfing is almost the last thing... but don't worry i won't stop blogging...

Today also i had to gather some strength to write this coz i was feelin damn lazy to do blogging... so this post is another beginning after a month's break...

its 12:10 AM now and m feeling too sleepy... will be back soon with something interesting....

PS: while i was writing this i was constantly thinkin about the title for it but was unable to think of an appropriate one... so gave the above title... If u can think of one, do take some pain to post it as a comment and i'll change it, of course givin u the credits...

A craaaazzzyyyy 'Google' search !!?!?!!

Just a few minutes ago, i got a crazy thought... "Can i get the list of all the top search queries the users search for on Google ??" And to satisfy this distracted mind of mine what else could be better than a search on Google itself.... !?!?!

So i entered the terms : "top search queries on google" in the Google search bar and lo, there it was, a long list of about 1,150,000 results... do u also love searching on Google.. Then here it is, the query i fired, for u , check it out: Search query. As always the first result is the most result... so i quickly clicked on the first result and to my surprise i got it.. yes, i got the list of all the top search queries and that too more than i had expected... :)

Now i think that there's some good similarity between me and the people at Google.. ;) Why ?? bcoz the site that i found is none other than the Google Press Center. When u enter the site the title says: "Zeitgeist: Search patterns, trends, and surprises"... "Zeitgeist"... feels awkward, isn't it ?? what a name... but don't worry, the Google people would have expected that people would search for its meaning, so to make ur task easier they have described the word on the site itself... so what does it mean ?
"zeit·geist | Pronunciation:'tsIt-"gIst, 'zIt | Function: noun | Etymology: German,from Zeit (time) + Geist (spirit) | Date: 1884 | Meaning:the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era."

U'll find everything u can think of about the top search queries... It shows the search queries to such a great extent...wow... !! U can even get the list of the top queries within the last 10 minutes.. isn't is amazing ?? One more great feature is that they have provided the top query list "By Country" also.....

So enjoy now looking at the queries and check if ur search is in the top or not...!!??!

If u r a music lover like me then it for sure tht some or the other time u'd have searched the internet for the lyrics of ur favorite song.. The main problem that i used to face (since i got this beautiful thing, no more do i search for the lyrics on the net) was tht while 'Googling' for the lyrics it hardly happened tht in the first shot i was able to get tht lyrics... The other thing was tht u don't get the lyrics until ur song is complete (i don't know why but it always happens !!).. So u have to play it for the next time after finding the lyrics to sing alongwith the song...

So this time when i played a song, instead of searching for the lyrics of the song i tried searching for a piece of software which can help me in searching the lyrics.. While searching i came across a site which offered a plugin - addon for the Windows Media Player. They promised tht it wud search for the lyrics automatically once u start playing the song !! I was so delighted.. But tht delight remained just till i installed it.. Oh Nooooooooooooooo ...!!! It asked for a registration number and then going back to the site i found tht a few bucks had to be paid for tht small plugin..

Again the task of 'Googling' began with a new spirit this time - to search for a new plugin but for FREE !! The word FREE always attracts us, isn't it ??

It wasn't long before i was successful in finding the real thing.. !! Yes, i found it out.. a FREE plugin for Windows Media Player as well as Winamp..

Believe me its awesome.. Its a download of mere 80 KB.. !! Also the success rate for searching lyrics is gr8.. It finds almost all the lyrics.. Remember to keep ur internet connected !!

Pros:

Very light on the system.

Success rate is awesome, finds almost all lyrics.

U can always edit the lyrics if u feel something wrong somewhere or even the add lyrics if u don't find them.

U can customize the fonts of the lyrics, the font colour, the font size and the background colour.

It provides a 'Search Google' link which on clicking takes u to Google alongwith the song name and singer as the query eg. if u r listening to Westlife's 'Seasons in the sun' then it googles a query 'Westlife Seasons In The Sun lyrics'.. so u don't have to even type for searching the lyrics. ;)

If u feel like giving a feedback about the plugin then theyhave given a link which takes u to their feedback page.

Finally, if u want to share this beautiful little thing with ur friends no need to open up ur email account and copy paste the link. They have given a simple to fill up form for this. So Njoy !!

Cons:

Till now i have come across just one limitation rather say this has to be taken care of by us, if u have a song file with a name like 'Summer of '69_english_favorite' or something like tht then it doesn't guarantee the lyrics for tht. U should have the file with the song name only ie. 'Summer of '69' and if possible add the movie/album name in its properties and the singer name if u know.. It searches real fast then.

Hope u'll enjoy ur songs a little more now with this plugin by ur side!!!!

Adding 'Post a comment' widget like Wordpress to ur Blog...

So as per my promise, i'll disclose the secret about the 'post a comment' widget like Wordpress in Blogger.

It will look like this after u have added it :

The service is totally FREE and the only thing u need is to sign up for it. It is provided by Haloscan.. sounds familiar, isn't it ?? Initially, u must have seen it when u signed up for the blog... i didn't know what exactly it was meant for and so had removed it from my template..

Anyway coming to the point, after signing up for haloscan u'll be brought onto the Dashboard. On that page u'll be able to see the menu items.

Now follow this steps :

1. In the menu items, select 'Members'.

2. In the sub menu that appears, there will be different options, select 'Install'.

3. Now on the page that opens, select the weblog tool that u've used. For me it was 'Blogger or Blogspot (New Version).

4. Before clicking on the 'Next' button, also select whether u want to 'display trackback code' and/or 'display rating stars'. The rating stars is a new functionality added by Haloscan in partnership with JS-Kit. Its worth adding.

5. After u click on 'Next', u'll be redirected to the 'Blogger Installation Wizard'.

From this step its easy enough, if u follow the instructions given.

And finally after u have uploaded the changed template to ur blog, there u have the easy, fantastic commenting facility for ur readers.

If u r confused or don't get any step, post me a comment and i'll get back to u as soon as possible.

Some changes to my blog...

Today, on the 3rd day of 2008, i tried to do some changes to my blog and finally did those changes successfully..

Now, what changes did i make ??

1. since i started blogging on Blogger, i hated one of its service the most - the comment service. I feel tht its the worst. Instead of commenting, the reader feels like running away.. It asks for ur blogger username and word verification and what not.. I love the commenting service provided by Wordpress. Since last some of the days i used to 'google' for some or the other widget to make commenting like Wordpress. Atlast i found it today.. I found a website which provides these service for free.. U just have to signup and voila ! u r ready to go. Now if u visit any of my posts u'll be able to see "What's ur Opinion ?" comment box below the post.. Isn't it just gr888 ?? check out for my post - "Adding 'Post a comment' widget like Wordpress to ur blog..." in a day or two, on how to enable this fantastic commenting for ur blog.

2. On one of my friend's blog i found a cool widget provided by Feedjit. The widget shows the location of all the recent visitors on ur blog. Initially i had added Clustrmaps which shows the location of the visitors on the world map but it isn't that accurate. U can get to know that someone visited form Africa or India but not the exact location. U have to remain contended by just seeing the country or atmost the state. The feedjit widjet shows u the nearest possible city as well as the source, ie. from where was ur blog found. From that u can know what publicity method is benefitting u the most !!! See this widget on the sidebar.

3. Last but not the least I added a direct link to download one of the best and safest browsers, the Mozilla Firefox alongwith Google toolbar for u. I feel that this is a deadly combination to use for any of the web users. Since almost 2 years i have been using Firefox alongwith the Google toolbar and never looked back on the Internet Explorer. The Google toolbar is worth downloading. Its not just crap like the other toolbars. Had u ever felt a need to make a button or a link on ur browsers toolbar so that u can access it immediately without looking for it in the bookmarks..?? If yes, then this toolbar is for u. It allows u to create custom buttons on ur toolbar and for a start it comes alongwith some gr8 button like Orkut, Google News, Google Scholar, etc. Moreover it shows u the pagerank of the site u r visiting. Now what's this pagerank ?? In simple terms its the importance of the site in Google's views. Regarding Firefox its simply unbeatable with a wide range of addons to suit ur needs. It has addons for a webdeveloper to a movie buff and for a normal user to some download junkie. Just see on the right and u find the download button for this deadly combination.

The year 2007 appears as a history now.. It just remains in the memories.... Looking back, there were many fields in which India made its mark on the world map.. As Lord Macaulay had said, India is again gaining back the title as the "Golden Bird".. To read Lord Macaulay's address u can read my post India ahaa !!

Though i don't think that i'll be able to list all but its a try to list as many as possible... :)

1. In politics, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam descended the President's throne and Mrs. Pratibha Patil assumed office on 25th July 2007 and became the first woman to have been elected for this post.

2. In business, the sensex reached an all time high and crossed the 20,000 mark.

3. In sports, the die hard cricket fan country cheered as India won the inaugral 20-20 World Cup under MS Dhoni's captainship.

4. Continuing with sports, the Indian Chess maestro Vishwanathan Anand was enthroned as the World Champion once again.

Benazir Bhutto - Daughter of Destiny

A shocking and tragic news hit the headlines "Benazir Bhutto assassinated."

Its just 10 days to the elections in Pakistan, and i m sure that she was the one who was going to emerge victorious.

The PPP (Pakistan Peoples Party) has lost their only hope of coming to power, a charismatic leader whom they will never forget and whose loss will never be compensated by any one else.

Today, while 'Googling' for the term Benazir Bhutto, i came across the site bhutto.org.

The site has a large collection of ebooks (including the autobiography of Benazir Bhutto, "Daughter of Destiny"), unseen and antique photographs, speeches and agreements and many unknown facts (atleast i was totally unaware about them) on Zulfiqar Bhutto (Father of Benazir Bhutto and the then Prime Minister of Pakistan) and Benazir Bhutto.

On a closing note nothing much, just a wholehearted prayer to the Almighty "May her soul rest in peace & may God give courage to her near and dear ones to face the tragedy."

For all the internet addicts and computer geeks this may not be something to be curious about, but all the newbies out there may be interested in knowing about this..

Now coming to the point, have u ever felt a need to express ur emotions through 'emoticons' in a post on a blog or a forum or anywhere u may think of.. ?? Most of u wud have an answer in affirmation.. Some of u wud have even cursed some blogs and forums for not providing the emoticons.. eg. Orkut, the smilies are just too less !!

So now there's some good news for all of u out there... Modi - of the people, by the people, for the people

So finally the much awaited results of the much talked about ' Gujarat Elections ' have been declared and again the people remain spell bound by Narendra Modi.. The man who proved everyone wrong this time.. The man who stood against all odds.. The man who knew that the common man is with him and he'll never lose.. "I am CM and will remain CM. CM for me means Common Man.", said this man.

He beat all the poll analysts and proved the exit poll results wrong.. The party won a clean majority with 117 seats, 11 less than that of 2002, from a total of 182. Of the remaning 62 went to the opposition and 2 to others.

The win of BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) is not the win of only the party but also of every person living in Gujarat.. The media says "Modi is unstoppable." I also think that now no one can stop him.. The man who made Gujarat important on India's map.. He's the one to whom all the credit goes for the overall development of the state.

The opposition party, Indian National Congress still do not know where they went wrong in the campaigning. The speeches they delivered against Modi, 'boomeranged' back to them. They were unable to show the people what they had achieved and what they did for the people of Gujarat in last 50 years. They tried to convince people by talking all rubbish about the Chief Minister, and finally they were the ones who suffered..

Narendra Modi is a clean man who believes in "हूँ खातो नथी ने कोइने खावा देतो नथी" meaning "I do not take bribe and do not allow others also to take bribe." Due to this policy he faced much oppostion and insult from many of the senior party members but at last its the victory of truth ("सत्यमेव जयते ।")

Thats all for now.. I m also delighted by BJP's rather Modi's victory. :)

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.

"Your son is here," she said to the old man.

She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed.All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile.

He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.

Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.

"Who was that man?" he asked.

The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.

"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"

"I knew right away there had been a mistake,

but I also knew he needed his son, and his
son just wasn't here.

When I realized that he was too sick to tell

whether or not I was his son,

knowing how much he needed me, I stayed."

Yiiiipeeeeeeee !! i found it..

Losing one's own hard written posts is a nightmare for any of us bloggers.. Two days ago a friend of mine lost all his posts, all his thoughts and feelings that he had tried to express in the form of words.. What worst can happen to a blogger.. He had his blog in Wordpress. He called the support centre and asked them about it but didn't get a satisfactory answer from them.. :(

This incident sent shivers through my spine and i just crossed my fingers then.. The first thing i did was to search for a user friendly Backup Utility.. A tedious search resulted in an easy-to-use backup utility for Blogger

It has really eased my task of taking backups and i have all my posts safely stored on my hard drive as well as flash drive (for xtra safety) ;)

Believe me its just awesome.. the easiness alongwith great functionality is the main thing that attracts me towards it..

Recently i took out some time to watch a movie.... Though it was tough deciding abt which movie to watch my search or rather my interest ended on the latest bollywood movie "Dil Dosti etc."

Initially the movie seems to be too dull and boring unlike a hindi movie but gradually the mood catches up and i felt that the choice was good... Great direction by Manish Tewary.. He has experimented with a total new cast on a some 'hatke' topic... The film revolves around the actors of the film namely Imaad Shah, Shreyas Talpade and Nikita Anand... The topic describes what the majority of current youth is upto and what are their 'dreams'...

Shreyas is a middle-class family boy from Bihar aspiring to become a student leader in the college talking about student empowerment.. He doesn't have problems showing guns or giving some blows to resolve his work...

Imaad is from a upper-class family who just knows how to waste money and searches for love in different girls... For him nothing matters to get success... Not even relationships..

Nikita dreams of becoming a model and belongs to the upper class family... For her also relationships don't matter much if they are becoming stones in her way to success... She breaks her relationship with Shreyas when they both get into a heated discussion about her modelling career..

On a final note the movie touched my heart and it seemed to me that this is exactly what is happening to today's youth... The movie end on a serious note with some great dialogues...

Talkin about music, i love two of its songs, one is the first song "Dum Laga" and another is "Lamha Ye Jayega Kahan".. The second one is a masterpiece i feel...

It’s half past 8 in the office but the lights are still on…

PCs still running, coffee machines still buzzing…

and who’s at work? Most of them??? Take a closer look..

All or most specimens are 20-something male species of the human race…

Look closer… again all or most of them are bachelors …

and why are they sitting late? Working hard? No way!!!

Any guesses???

Let’s ask one of them…

Here’s what he says… “What’s there 2 do after going home… here we get to surf, AC, phone,

food, coffee.. that is why I am working late… importantly no bossssssss !!!!!!!!!!!

This is the scene in most research centers and software companies , and other off-shore offices.

Bachelors “time-passing” during late hours in the office just bcoz they say they’ve nothing else

to do…

Now what r the consequences. .. read on…

“Working”(for the record only) late hours soon becomes part of the institute or company culture …

With bosses more than eager to provide support to those “working” late in the form of taxi

vouchers, food vouchers and of course good feedback (oh, he’s a hard worker… goes home only

to change..!!).

They aren’t helping things too… To hell with bosses who don’t understand the difference

between “sitting” late and “working” late!!!

Very soon, the boss start expecting all employees to put in extra working hours.

So, My dear Bachelors let me tell you, life changes when u get married and start having a

family… office is no longer a priority, family is …

and that’s when the problem starts …. becoz u start having commitments at home too.

For your boss, the earlier “hardworking” guy suddenly seems to become a ” early leaver” even if

u leave an hour after regulartime. .. after doing the same amount of work.

People leaving on time after doing their tasks for the day are labeled as work-shirkers. ..

Girls who thankfully always (its changing nowadays… though) leave on time are labeled as “not

up to it”. All the while, the bachelors pat their own backs and carry on “working” not realizing

that they are spoiling the work culture at their own place and never realize that they would have

to regret at one point of time.

* So what’s the moral of the story?? *

* Very clear, LEAVE ON TIME!!!

* Never put in extra time ” *unless really needed *”

* Don’t stay back un-necessarily and spoil your company work culture which will in turn cause

inconvenience to you and your colleagues.

There are hundred other things to do in the evening..

Learn music…

Learn a foreign language…

Try a sport… TT, cricket………

Importantly Get a girl friend or gal friend, take him/her around town…

* And for heaven’s sake net cafe rates have dropped to an all-time low (plus, no firewalls) and

try cooking for a change.

Take a tip from the Smirnoff ad: *”Life’s calling, where are you??”*

Please pass on this message to all those colleagues And please do it before leaving time, don’t

stay back till midnight to forward this!!!

ITS A TYPICAL INDIAN MENTALITY THAT WORKING FOR LONG HOURS MEANS VERY

HARD WORKING & 100% COMMITMENT ETC.

PEOPLE WHO REGULARLY SIT LATE IN THE OFFICE DON’T KNOW TO MANAGE THEIR

TIME.

SIMPLE !!!

Since last few days i've finally started what my mom was telling me to do since almost 3-4 years.. surprised to see the duration.. ;) what i had to do was benefiacial to me only and not my mother but then that laziness had got into my bones so rigidly tht it was almost impossible for me to do tht... Any guesses abt wht my mom was askin me to do..

It was doing Yoga and Pranayam daily... Recently, 'Astha' TV channel has started coming on DTH and on tht Ramdev Swamiji's live 'Yoga Shibir' is telecast evryday in the morning as well as evening.. I m a 'night out'- maniac so its just impossible for me to go to bed early and wake up at dawn... so for me watching the programme at 5:00 in the morning is just a dream... so i have started watchin it in the evening form 8:00 to 9:00..

Believe me it works wonders... u can 'feel the difference' just within a day or 2...
