Camo & Cargo?

If there is anything that I used to hate, it's camouflage and cargo. Camo has grown on me if you wear it nicely, which I never thought I'd say. I have seen an enormous amount of camo pants and jackets recently, styled various ways. I would wear this trend with the camo shirt in the picture below, a black jacket over top, and a chunky necklace.
As far as cargos go, I still hate them, but only on guys. You could wear them with anything and everything since they are just pants, with pockets!

BERRY LIPS

I always use some sort of color on my lips in the colder months, preferably a berry. Without any color my face looks dull, and lifeless. It's important to find the perfect shade to wear for the perfect time. For school I like to keep it very natural with a shiny color that is a little bit darker than my natural lip color. For the day time a very sheer berry color in a balm or lipgloss works the best. For night time a very pigmented lipgloss, or lipstick looks great, the darker the better. You don't have to be too careful with a shiny lip color, but if you're going matte always remember to exfoliate, and moisturize your lips. Doing so will help your lips look fresh, and healthy. I'm going to share with you my absolute favorite berry colors that I recommend, love, and have.

Get Healthy Hair for Fall

During the fall in winter I tend to pack on more products on my hair, but not all at once. First and foremost using a good shampoo and conditioner is the first step. While washing your hair everyday isn't good for it, I can't follow my own advice and I usually do because I hate the feeling of dirty hair. Using a shampoo without sulfates is very important because sulfates strip your hairs natural oils tremendously. It's not hard to find a sulfate-free shampoo anymore because many lower-end brands now sell them. When I don't wash my hair, after much trial and error I've found that Batiste has the best dry shampoo. Dry shampoo will absorb the oil from your scalp for cleaner, more volumized hair. I use a deep conditioner once every two weeks on my ends, to help moisturize, keep it looking healthy, and help with damage. The best one I've tried is the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque because it's so thick and smells amazing. Next I use an oil, hair oils are something that I use only in the fall/winter because they are a little bit more heavy. The good thing about oils is that they don't weigh down your hair if you use the right amount. I've used the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment for over a year now and I continue to love it. I take a nickel size amount and put it mostly on my ends and a bit on my roots to help frizz. It detangles my hair, and leaves it very soft when it dries. The oil also speeds up drying time which is a plus since I take morning showers, and am usually in a rush. The last product I use is the Oscar Blandi Instant Glossing Cream, which I use when I blow dry my hair. It has a heat protectant in the cream, and adds a tremendous amount of shine once the hair is dry. With that being said and all products aside, the most important things for healthy hair is to cut out use of heat products, get and get hair trimmed regularly, which is sometimes hard for a lot of us.

FALL TREND: The Military Inspired Jacket

The military inspired jackets have been one of my most sought out pieces for the fall. I'm not the type to splurge on something, it happens very rarely, so finding one at a good price is getting a little hard. I'd pair the jacket just like Miley did (pictured above), keeping the rest of the outfit plain and adding leather boots, then I'd add a chunky gold necklace. In addition to this fall trends post, I'm going to show you how you can get her look!

FALL TREND: Oxblood

Whether you're using the term oxblood or burgundy, it's still the same thing, and coming out as a huge trend. In the fall and winter you can catch me wearing 50% black 99% of the days, so I'm looking forward to branching out a little bit more. You can find practically anything that goes on your body in this oxblood color. What's great about it is that it adds a pop of red to your outfit without being too bold because it's muted out with brown tones which makes it perfect for the cold, dark months.

One of my favorite ways I've seen this color being worn is on Kylie Jenner (Pictured Above). My opinion might be a bit biased because anything that Kylie or Kendall wears I automatically like, but nevertheless it's still my favorite way. Kylie's leather pants from Parker are insane, and surprisingly not as expensive as I assumed they would be.

FALL TREND: Leather Sleeves

I've been looking for something I can wear in the fall/winter that had leather sleeves. Whether it was a blazer, jacket, trench or sweater, I finally found a winner. Marshall's had one similar to Olivia's (pictured above) by J.J. Winter. Unfortunately I can't find the same coat anywhere online but if you have a Marshall's around your area I'd check it out! Oh and is it reasonable to say that I feel like Leandra Medine in this coat? Because I do. I have a feeling I'll be wearing it a lot this season.

FALL FACE

I love having a matte face during the fall, bold brows, bright eyes, and contoured cheeks. Hoola Bronzer and the Dream Matte Powder are perfect for achieving a matte face because they have absolutely no shimmer in them. For my eyes I use L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara which makes my lashes VERY long. Along with the whole bright-eyed look I use Erase Paste for my concealer and over top Powderflage, which helps the concealer not crease, last longer, and look brighter. Last but not least is the bold brows, I use Define-A-Brow and I absolutely love it. To read more about how to achieve bold brows read THIS.

Brows 101 for all of those who want to achieve the bold, thick brow look who seem to be lacking in that area. As a kid I had a unibrow and when I started to notice it and get self conscious my mom always warned me to NEVER tweeze, so she took me to get them waxed. The lady that waxed them was always great and created a defined shape to them that has stayed ever sense. After a few years it just got too expensive and I felt I had mastered the skill so I quit going..and started tweezing. Don't worry I don't ever go crazy because it's all about moderation. Sometimes people get caught up in doing it the next thing they know their brows are as thin as paper which happened to my mom. I never touch the shape of my eyebrows, the only thing I tweeze is the useless hairs around them that just look gross. Many stars now are notoriously known for their thick brows like Cara Delevingne (pictured above), Brook Shields, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, and Lilly Collins so don't be afraid!

If you're trying to achieve thicker looking brows here are the things you are going to want to try. You don't have to use all of these products at once, you can mix and match with what works best for you. If you're looking for a good brand specialized in eyebrows I reccomend Anastasia from personal experience. Number 1. ELF eyebrow kit (comes with a powder and wax, use the brush provided to fill in sparse parts of the brow) 2. Benefit high brow (use this under the arch of your eyebrow to highlight and make the arch appear higher) 3. NYX eyebrow shaper (pencil this wax onto the eyebrow after filling in or on its on to keep its shape all day) 4. Tweezerman tweezers (you already know what these are for but don't get too crazy) 5. ELF eyebrow stencils (these will be a lifesaver if you want to create a shape to your brows but don't know how or where to start without messing up) 6. Benefit instant brow pencil (quick way to fill in and brush out your eyebrows) 7. Laura Mercier eyebrow gel (a quick and easy way to brush and set eyebrows all day, these types of gels also come tinted so you can color, brush, and set eyebrows all in one step which is the quickest and easiest way!) I Hope this helps!

Palazzo and Harem?

There's one thing for sure, you either love them or hate them there is no 'eh' with these. Probably the most controversial pant is the Harem pant which are numbers 4, 5 & 6. Some girls love them, some think they're completely unflattering, or as my mom says they're MC Hammer pants. Very baggy up top but tapered at the bottom and look best with any type of shoe although I don't recommend boots. Ankle booties are fine but anything above the ankle will make you look like your legs have no shape at all. Next is the Palazzo pant (my favorite) which are numbers 1, 2 & 3. They're a loose, wide legged pant that are kind of 70's inspired. Not to be confused with gauchos (gauchos should be illegal).

Since I wasn't blessed to see the Rebecca Minkoff show in real life, stalking it all along the way on the computer is the next best thing. Actually I lied, stalking backstage pictures and previews through her constant Instagram pictures IS the next best thing. The collection was very 60's/70's inspired with florals, tweeds, and wide legs. The hair was tousled and down, and the makeup was natural except for the neon eyeshadow. I got my first trench coat in Paris when I was 13 at some coat shop by The Lourve, which I still have and wear even though it doesn't fit me too well. Last year I picked up a new trench that actually fits me from Forever21, and a pale pink one from Urban Outfitters which is for the rain. Something about these coats makes you look sophisticated and the second you put them on you're like Nancy Drew. Men and Woman can pull them off and they come in a million styles, colors and materials. Finding one that fits your style is easy.

LOOK LIKE A SUPERMODEL

Contrary to popular belief, this won't make you look like Rosie unless you were born and blessed with similar features but there's no harm in trying..

This look is more on the summer side but can easily be transformed into the fall/winter by just taking out some of the bronzing products, but that's only if your gonna be deathly pale like myself. I've added in some VS makeup products because most likely those were used backstage where this look was done, I pick and chose items I think might have been used. If I were to wear this in the fall or winter I would simply take out steps 3 & 7.

1. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit - The peachy color cancels out any dark circles you might have, and covers up blemishes leaving you with a dewy finish.

2. NARS Laguna Bronzer - This bronzer has universally flattering color to it and leaves you looking bronzed and never orange.

3. VS Highlighter - Highlighters like this give you a dewy finish making you look glowing and bronzed.

4. BUXOM Eyeshadow Palette - Using the colors I picked out use the lighter shade on your lid and brow bone, and the darker shade on your crease. The matte colors balance out the dewiness and shimmer on the face.

5. Shu Uemura Eyeliner - Wearing a white eyeliner on your water line brightens up your eyes making you look fresh and well rested.

6. Bare Minerals Lip gloss - This mauve brown/pink shade looks good all year around, it could be used for a bronzed or nude colored lip.

7. VS Bronzing Highlighter - Priming your face is key to a perfect all day finish, it helps your foundation go on better and look better, plus it gives a little color to your face.

8. MAKE UP FOR EVER HD foundation - This foundation is perfect for a full coverage finish, whether you're in front of the camera or just for everyday use.

9. Bumble and Bumble Texture Creme - I love this stuff, rub this through your straight hair for messy texture just like Rosies' looks.

10. Maybelline Falsies Mascara - This mascara makes your lashes look fake, ironic? I'm not sure if Rosie actually has on fake lashes but if you're not into those like myself this mascara will do the trick.

Yes those are my obnoxiously painted blue walls, and a few of my favorite necklaces. I feel like I'm always talking about jewelry but that's because I think it adds so much to an outfit. You can wear a white T and jean shorts and look like the ultimate plain jane but as soon as you put on a huge chunky necklace and stacked bracelets you're transformed.

One piece of jewelry I'm on the hunt for is a wrap bracelet, more specifically this one but the price is a little too high for my liking. The other day I was watching The Devil Wears Prada and in the movie Anne Hathaway had on long stacked Chanel necklaces that looked amazing. It made her look so classy and chic, but not everyone has those in their collection so opting for something budget friendly is just as good.

Fall Ready Colors

I like to put nail polish into three catagroies for the colder months.
Neutrals, metallics, and the bold colors..

The neutrals are all shades of blacks, grays, greens, and browns which I love. The metallics are shiny and glittery which I use for an accent nail, sometimes using them on all nails is too much. My favorite to wear are the bold colors, which basically is all the colors from spring and summer but darker and very rich in color, no pastels or neons.

Yet another product post, I'm such a consumer and it's a huge problem for my wallet and bank account. Get ready for a long post!

In no particular order I have the Bumble and Bumble Texture creme, let me just say this is one of the most confusing hair products I've owned and you really need to play with it. The directions say to work through damp hair but I'm a rebel and I use it in dry hair, I found that no matter what I did in damp hair my hair just looked off. I'll use the creme on my 95% dry hair, It adds SO much volume, style and texture (duh) to my boring locks. Benefit Erase Paste, I've been loyal to this concealer for a little over three years now and I just recently fell in love again. It's SO creamy and buildable, which is perfect for my prominent dark under eyes. I recommend priming before hand to prevent creasing! Laura Mercier hands down has the best face makeup products, I use the tinted moisturizer and silk creme foundation as well. Her mineral powder has made its way up to my favorites, I bought it on a whim a while ago and have been having an on and off love affair, right now its on. It gives medium coverage and a luminous natural finish that lasts. Twistbands, they add a 'twist' to your look (go figure). They look so cute on your wrist and they don't even crease your hair if it's up in a pony! You can find these any color or print everywhere! (Sephora, Target, Etsy, Brandy Melville, Kitson, Francescas, etc). If you know me, you know i'm all about the lip products and Rose Salve has made its way into my life. I just bought it at my new job and I am constantly slathering it on. I wasn't wearing any lotions or perfumes one day and someone told me I smelt good, I realized rose salve was the only scent on my body and it gained 500 points in my book. Last but not least is PINK fresh and clean body lotion, I can't get enough. I usually hate lotion but this is the only one I will wear, it sinks into your skin so fast and the scent literally lasts all day, ALL DAY. My favorite scents are "clean" scents so this lotion has me written all over it.

Ever since I saw Francesca Eastwoods high low sweater she wore in "Mrs. Eastwood and Company" i've been so obsessed. I couldn't find a picture of her wearing it but look #7 is almost the same except hers was a different color, a lot more chunky. I recently picked up a high low sweater at Tobi that I love, they have reasonably priced items no matter what style you have. I've been seeing a lot of asymmetric hems, cut outs, and of course high low lately which adds way more style to a grungy winter look.

CUFF ME

How could you not feel like Superwoman in these things? Arm cuffs are the ultimate statement jewelry piece, the bigger the better.

Sometimes I don't like wearing a lot of bracelets on one arm because I feel almost lopsided and uneven (does anyone else ever feel like that? weird, I know). These are so bold and flashy but the symmetry it gives to your look especially paired with your top is amazing and flattering. My cuffs are from ASOS and were a reasonable price for a pack of two. Before finding these I was desperately searching for a decently priced pair but I couldn't find any, they were priced way to high in my opinion. The only downside is how scratched up they get but to be honest don't look too close and you can't tell ;) Some other cuff options I'm obsessed with are ear cuffs, I have one that looks exactly the same as my arm cuffs, and I got it from Etsy. There's also the hair cuff for your ponytail which you can find at places like H&M, Etsy and ASOS, they look so sophisticated and put together in your hair. Another version of the cuff is for your ankles. Yes, your ankles. So unexpected but so flattering and cute depending on how you style them. Dainty black heels look stunning with that option, it's gives kind of a flirty sexy edgy feel to your feet.

50 Shades of Red

Red lips can be a scary thing, especially if you don't ever wear lip color or like to experiment with makeup in the first place. There's more to it then just picking up a random shade and wearing it, first and for most know what shade of red looks best on your skin tone.

If you have pale skin find shades that are a mixture of coral, peach, and orange hues mixed with the red, a brick matte red with orange hues also looks good. For Medium skin tones cherry, cranberry shades look best, you can also pull off the most colors so go for a brighter red. Dark skin tones should go with deep reds burgundy, plum, berry reds. Before applying your lipstick always exfoliate and moisturize so your lips are prepped and not flakey. Lining your lips with a red liner also will really help define your lips and guide the lipstick on easier.

I'm thrilled it's now August, because we're one step closer to colder weather. I'm tired of shorts, sweating, and summer! I absolutely love leather clothing (fake obviously), but to me I think it's one of the hardest things to shop for. Most of the time when I see something I love it either looks too cheap or is too expensive, but that's no surprise. Lately i've seen leather pants in H&M and Forever21 but it's hard to find a decent looking pair that doesn't look so cheap as I said. Finding a pair of leather boots is much easier and way more justifiable to splurge on because I wear black leather boots almost every day in the fall/winter. Even if your not too keen on leather especially in your shirts #6 is great because it has a tiny bit of leather detailing on the collar.

Cold Shower?

To me showers are the most refreshing thing....ever, to make them even more refreshing I turn the water ice cold towards the end. After being under the hot steamy water for too long I almost feel worn out, the second I turn it ice cold I'm immediately awake and refreshed. So we know why I think cold showers are good, but why else are they good?

Hair - Cold water not only feels awesome on your hair, but while your washing your hair make sure the waters cold to close the cuticle for stronger, shinier hair. Thus helping less dirt accumulate within your scalp, and cold water will also help with hair loss.

Skin - Firstly Hot water dries out the skin. After washing your face and opening your pores with hot water, always finish off with cold water to close your pores to keep dirt and oil out to lessen clogged pores and breakouts. Cold water makes blood vessels constrict which reduces swelling and look of dark circles under the eyes.

Body - Cold showers will strengthen your immunity, improves blood circulation, increases metabolism, detoxifies your body, alleviates depression, aids sleep, regulates temperature.
