As Sylvie, you receive an urgent phone call from your Uncle who just happens to be an archaeologist. He informs you that he’s made an incredible discovery but when you arrive back at your childhood home, you find that he has vanished and so have some other items. In typical adventure fashion, you will spend the majority of your time walking around various locations, searching high and low for objects to collect. Often, there will be characters around who can give you the needed information or who can help you in some other way. The puzzles are mostly inventory based ones that will require you to use inventory objects, either singly or combined together.

The visuals and audios are great. There are small animations of birds flying, curtains waving and shutters banging that add to the overall viewing experience. There is also a solid cast of voice actors and a suitably atmospheric soundtrack.

The puzzles require the player to use the items in their inventory in a logical way. The result is that the puzzles end up being challenging, but aren’t overly frustrating or annoying. But for those instances where you do get stuck, the game features a very subtle, yet helpful, hint system.

The game ending can do better though. But I do not mind the ending as it can mean they will have a sequel to it the next round. It keeps the hope high for wanting more from this game.

I have had fun playing Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual because of the nice visual of the game and the nicely integrated puzzles.

This time Cake Mania: Main Street sees Jill trying to revive her hometown of Bakersfield. With the help of her hubby and a few other friends, Jill must reopen four small businesses in addition to what she knows best: baking cakes! This is a great challenge for Jill, while a fun way to go back and forth between sushi shop, flower boutique and burger shop.

Of course, not all business comes is a bed of roses. Monsters and vampires  trying to turn some of your customers into their own, or chefs talking people who have already ordered into changing their minds and ordering something else from the menu at the last minute.

Here’s some tips. Everything must be assembled in the proper order, which becomes tougher as more ingredients are added into your repertoire. Instead of buying lots of new equipment, you’ll purchase scores of new recipes that fetch a higher price, make the manual labor more enjoyable, and increase the challenge and complexity of your dishes.

This is an enjoyable game and I enjoyed it a lot. Try out this game and start baking on the main street!

Sprill and Ritchie are back in an all-new Hidden Object game that will tickle your funny bone as much as it teases your brain.

General tips:

• Sprill and Ritchie: Adventures in Time has 33 levels and 52 mini-games.
• There are no timers in the game, so take your time and complete the puzzles and scenes at your own pace.
• When your cursor turns into a hand icon, it means you can grab that item and it will go into inventory.
• A sparkly area in the scene indicates an item that you need to use an inventory item on or that you need to interact with in some kind of way.
• When a magnifying glass icon appears it means you will be able to take a closer look at that particular item.
• Pay attention to what Sprill and Ritchie are saying in between scenes. Often times they are giving you clues as to what you need to do next. If you miss the dialogue, there’s no way to go back to read it.
• If you click randomly on the screen you will see the screens covered with bubbles temporarily. You will not be able to pick up items until the bubbles disappear.

Hints:

• The game has unlimited hints but you have to wait until the hint button recharges before you can use it again. It recharges pretty quickly so your waiting period is minimal.
• To use a hint, simply click on the filled hint button in the lower right side of the scene. The game will automatically take off a random item off your list.
• You cannot use hints on your mini-games.

Mini games:

• There are 52mini-games in Sprill and Ritchie: Adventures in Time. The mini-games do not repeat themselves.
• Pay attention to the instructions at the beginning of a mini-game since you will not have access to them once the game has started.

• You can skip a mini-game once the skip button is filled in green.

During a typical day at the shop, you serve customers by clicking on the necessary ingredients to assemble whatever they have ordered. Make cheeseburger and drag it onto the customer or right-click to instantly deliver it.

First come, first served. It has a lot of interesting upgrades.

If you like any of the other food games you will probably enjoy this game. It is difficult, but not overwhelmingly difficult. The levels are short so you are able to get through quite a bit of the game in an hour. I enjoyed playing this game and hopefully you will too!!

The mouse is used for all of your cooking tasks. To combine ingredients together, you must try and select the right ingredient to match.

The food graphics are amazing while the character ones may need some touch ups. Not forgetting it’s fun and most tasks are fairly easy to complete while retaining a good score. Absolutely love this game!

In Fitness Dash, Jo the Jogger tells her team mates to get fit before the next tournament in a tug-of-war game. Jo opens a series of gyms and offers her personal training services to help her friends lose weight and get fit. A cute game it is….like the rest of the Dash games, the game starts with little equipment and getting more and more as levels goes by.

More challenging levels are awaiting unlike the initial easier steps. And you can work faster with the money you’ve earned. From the main menu, you can choose to play the main Story mode, an Endless mode or just the mini-game.

Still a fun game it is…..but make sure you download the trial and try it out before purchase. It is in some ways quite similar to Fitness Frenzy. For those who has not tried out either one, you might still enjoy this. Like I do, I play this game just because I want to get in mood of getting fit and exercise more.

Do you always have the perception that word game is a bore? Well, not anymore. At least, not for this game that I have played recently.

Lex Venture: A Crossword Caper is the game that suits the family or single player. It is fun and educational at the same time too. This crossword begs to differ from other typical crossword puzzle as it has great story line and nice graphics that are attractive to capture our attention.

How does Lex Venture start? Well there’s this word machine called Eugene’s Wonderful Word machine that is already created and put up by a group of pals. Somehow this machine is stolen by thief and it’s the task of you gamers to get it back.

The thief obviously is not an “experienced” thief and in fact, I would say a lousy thief as he drops parts of the machine around town when passing parks and buildings. To trace the machine, form the right words to get parts of the machines back. A few things which are still typical from this genre are the scrabble-like game. From nine letters shown on top, create different words with it starting from at least three words. After you have entered a word, a bubble appear appears with its definition.

There are also some mini games to make it more exciting. You can use some power ups and combos tips to create words when you have no idea how to squeeze in more words. Get in a battle with your thief to see who collects more machine parts and the winner wins the stage. Also some obstacles in the way…beware of the duck that eats things and fight against bullies who break things apart.

Upon collecting some goodies like candy and cakes, you get to earn some extra points too! All in all, I find that I enjoyed Lex Venture: A Crossword Caper very much and this game can be a common activity for the whole family, from adult to kids too.

Fans of hidden object genre…..attention….a finding over the weekend resulted in this review for “Amazing Finds”. Uncle McGriff has a huge collection of knick-knacks and still looking for some valuable items around the world.

Amazing Finds is the hidden object game that has little flaws and almost perfect game. You are hired by old Uncle McGriff to help him to search for eight items to complete his collection. Hnmm…quite a fanatic collector, don’t you think?

Well…that is how the story starts. Through your journey in the globe, you get to travel to different places and get to enjoy the sceneries of various countries such as Japan, India and England. Nice graphics makes me wonder when I can have my long awaited holidays. Here comes my day dreaming again. Ha!

Ok, back to the story. In Amazing Finds, some of the hidden objects are well hidden in the nice graphics makes it kind of hard to search for it. But luckily there is this magical coin that is given by Uncle McGriff to help the game play a much easier one to go through. This coin is indeed wonderful as there is no limit to how much you use it, only occasional reminder from Uncle not to spam click on the hints though.

As usual, mini games are tagged along in this hidden object game genre. The mini puzzles are a pleasing change to the perpetual hidden object games and can rest our eyes for a little while.

There are a couple of funny characters that were fighting over each other with their magical power and then there was a cute girl suggesting that they should be using their powers to operate a restaurant instead, and earn some money to pay their debts.

Over the food operating games, you get to upgrade your machines to more high end ones. And to gain more and more customers over the time.

There were some minor glitches – some sound problems, and as others mentioned, long lag time between segments. It would be a fun game if it gets more challenging.

This game would be good for family game and kids would enjoy this.

However for adult gamers, I would say that the other better options for time management game would be Restaurant Rush and Turbo Pizza.

Monsters now have the ability to wear human disguises to help them blend better with the human occupied suburbs. All babies require their needs to be satisfied: diaper change, food, nap and play time, so Molly has to juggle all tasks one baby at a time. Each baby has a skill that could make work harder for Molly if she doesn’t take care of their needs fast enough. Molly has to prioritize which baby she’ll help first based on the ones that cause the most harm.

You can chain the baby pick-ups at the end of the day, but that’s all I’ve noticed adding x2 or x4 bonuses. However, the clicking does not really make any difference to the queued tasks as Molly still doing what she is doing.

I haven’t managed to play the first game for Daycare. However, as a first time gamer for the series, I found this game is still OK and fun to play with especially those that are looking for casual games.
