If Aperture 3 makes your system run slow - and if you have a Flip video camera, then a little QuickTime plug in might be the culprit. See this Apple Support Article for a fix. Aperture brings my system to a crawl - even with 4GB of memory. But this little errant plug-in is not installed on my computer. I have yet to figure out the problem. Suggestions? Please email me!

If you have been thinking about upgrading the memory in your computer but have been put off by the high cost at the Apple Store - you might want to take a look at this article. The author saved a bundle by shopping at a third party seller Crucial.com. I am very surprised by the huge mark up at Apple.com (maybe I shouldn't be) and am tempted by the lower prices at Crucial.com. But the skeptic in me is wondering if there is a catch. Has anyone else used this company for memory upgrades? Please drop me a line if you have.

I just came across this unique idea for a bracketless iPad mount. The contraption is basically two incredibly strong suction cups connected by a flexible stem. Just looking at the website - I get the feeling that the iPad is held very securely. It seems to be a practical solution for mounting your iPad just about anywhere. Quicken 2007 and Mac OS X Lion

Currently, Quicken 2007 is not compatible with Mac OS X Lion. However, I received a mass email today from Intuit. Actually it was a little surprising, since I haven't heard much from them in the past, um, 4 years. Apparently, Intuit just wanted to check in to let Mac users know that they haven't forgotten about us. No siree. They are committed to making Quicken 2007 fully compatible with Lion in the near future. I really don't know what to make of this. They are committed to making a four year old program compatible with a brand new operating system. Somehow I don't feel elation. With no new updates in the pipeline - I have long since switched to iBank. Now with this news - will I switch back to Quicken 2007? I don't think so.

How much data do we need to buy? If you have a 3G iPad and an iPhone or two or three (I'm talking family plans here) then you are paying for a ton of data usage. Wouldn't it be nice to share one data plan amongst all of your devices or across your family plan? Verizon has hinted that something like this might be coming our way in 2012. Hopefully AT&T has something in the pipeline as well.
