Be good for something, not to everything.

One of the delicate tasks for entrepreneurs, is that question : what product I am going to offer? Which will be my best service? This it is my better understanding to these questions.

All person came to this world to serve to somebody that is no doubt, if not , we would not be able to work, the systems in all the levels are created this way.

But there’s a small problem, I’m not know me and I am not know where I go.

In the course of my life, that is not long, I have seen myself in several works, in fact I start at nine years of age, I works in factories of glass lamps, selling imitations of plaster of personages of Disney, doing deliveries to the neighborhood queens and other little tasks I made after school hours.

My family lived in a colonia call Castillo ( Castle) , here in Tijuana, Mexico, was surrounded by two pantheons, in the important days of the year; in the dates in which people take flowers to the tombs of her loving beings, I observes; that the big boys loaded containers of gallons with water, I follow them and realized that they used to wash tombs, an idea came to me; if it took a long round tube and we put the gallons in
the tube, we could take more water to the clients, therefore I did it.

I Invite my brothers to my campaign and we were a proud washing company of tombs, the greatest of the colonia, we start our business with rags, sponges and soap that we requested in donation for our neighbors and to our mother.

We did not rest and we did not need it, we were six in the team and each pair took care of a client, when the capacity of water was in half way, one team ran to the water faucet of the pantheon to fill the empty gallon containers.

We finished behind schedule and we liked that the queens call us to wash to their “santitos” (saints) and the tombs of their ancestors.

When finishing the work day, we gave the money to the Queen of the house, our Mother sure , and we were happy, because we made her happy an she demonstrated it, that day my mother prepared food for all, it served our favorite soft drinks and we dine and chat together.

The day of deads (Dia de Muertos) is the 2nd of November of every year, is a very traditional and important date for Mexico, and clear it was more important for all the microcompanies of “thombswashers” that existed in my vecindario ,and more for me.

Of course we washed tombs the on Mothers Day, Father Day , and the day of Juan Soldado, (Jonh the Soldier) is one of the saints who is in one of the pantheons that surround the neighborhood , people goes to request miracles from him, one of the most wanted miracles is to ask for the Visa to live in the United States.

Instead of asking what am I going to sell, what service is better ,or even worse, How am I going to be rich overnight? The question is: how can I serve you? , what is the need in this moment, in which I can help? Ask this and all your doubts will dissipated.

A King of my product or service?

Why a have to be a King of my product or service?

Because we take care of Queens! , in his book, Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland, tells us, after the appearance of the Cat:

“Well, it must be removed,' said the King very decidedly, and he called the Queen, who was passing at the moment, `My dear! I wish you would have this cat removed!'

The Queen had only one way of settling all difficulties, great or small. `Off with his head!' she said, without even looking round.

`I'll fetch the executioner myself,' said the King eagerly, and he hurried off.”

In this passage the changing humor of the Queen is observed, as she invents, as she decides, as administers and handles his kingdom, remembers she does not have time, and made these tasks according to her desires and needs.

On the other hand, there is the King, but not to the king of what we spoke in this book, the king of Carroll is a tiny King, without character, which it does not have will, he goes behind the queen saying “yes, yes, yes my dear”.

If your product and service are incapable to provide the satisfaction level and confidence that a King have to give in a territory, show your products to all less to the Queens, changes your strategy, observes in which you can fulfill and respond, and avoids or improves what it is not, don’t make the opportunity to convert you in a servant.

In its book “Act like a CEO”, D.A. Benton (A Queen that thinks as a King) gives 1 of the 10 rules of how thinking like a King.

Be Your self, unless you are a jerk

Integrity is important; how you do your work is more important that what your work is.

D.A. Benton comments to us that at moments of true problem it is where the character of a true Director is observed, She says that the way you lose is a good test of character.

So when you have a setback, a crisis or failure, don’t be a jerk:

· Don’t be overly convinced of your own importance

· Don’t think you are the exception to the rule in doing whatever you feel like.

· Don’t act only to please you.

· Don’t break your word.

· Don’t be dishonest.

· Don’t be mean or nasty.

· Don’t kick people in the face anywhere along the way.

· Don’t yell and scream.

· Don’t embarrass other.

· Don’t turn to your associate into road kill when the going gets tough.

· Don’t be arrogant, no matter how much of a right you think you have to be arrogant.

· Don’t get good at being bad.

This is only the first principle, and as we can observe, is personal, everything is related to the individual and its character, its motivation and intention and its capacity to auto control it self.

THE KING LIVE, LIVE THE KING

A good king, and history and the present time this flood of them, is a Servant, and has in his coffers, original products and services to the service of his territory.

The King governs itself by Principles, which derive from the Mission and the Vision that one of them carried out in that territory of Kingdoms each prevailed by a Queen.

I have never read nor a King that sent its troops, with His best captains and soldiers to an endless Mission. And I never read o listened to this: "Captain Antonio; go to Egypt and I’ll reach you there, and what is our mission my King? I do not know, just go and give my regards to Cleopatra ".

Clear that this is inaudit, to move resources of effort, time and money whit out the knowledge of were we go and for what.

The King undertakes a Mission and the Vision in the future is great and audacious, causes a significant change in its associates, the kingdoms, the queens and the princess of the Territory that it requires to conquer.

It knows to communicate that Mission and Vision with strategies of performance with all his associates, friends and relatives. The rolls, positions and tasks are certain and the main indicators of measurement for the goals during the time also.

A King is extremely educated in his acts and in which he offers, is prepared and his equipment of conquest is in healthful conditions for action.

Why I cannot see Queens

Why I cannot see Queens.

As an entrepreneur, I go by the world observing only what I desire, the money which I want in the bank, the level of quota of sale to satisfy my preoccupations, work for my material goods and I imagine the clients like a cash register boxes with a conviction that at the first moment in which there will be open the drawer I will take the prize and they never see me again, they will called to the telephones numbers that appears in my business card and an untrained assistant answered to them badly, or a watchman of the door , the folk of maintenance, even worse ; a recording machine that will say to them; "please leave a message".

And in my long suffering as a businessmen I will say: "that barbarian clients, they only call to bother, after the service that I gave them, the time whom they cleared to me , they continue bothering, if they call again; tell them I’m out of office".

And we did not remember those words of Peter Drucker that say "the modern organization exists to provide a service for a specific society, therefore must exist within a society". And if I am not observed me and my company as a part of a society, a community or a territory to which I am serving, where are several kingdoms, commanded in his majority by QUEENS, briefly, I am not a KING.

I have stories with a mistaken information or I not investigated and created the Mission, Vision and Values that motivate my company, or simply I am believe the myths that somebody tell me.

I am going to number some of these myths:

Myth 1 Woman is Submissive and Obedient: All the opposite; they are active and they take all class of decisions and they are disobedient by nature, at the end, the work that corresponds to them they do it right , exactly since they do it, and in addition is creative and always invented a solution for each problem that is occurred. It pleases to them to be listened and that is fulfilled their desires and necessities.

Myth 2 the woman is fool and boring : Nothing is but far from the real thing, they are extremely intelligent and dynamic-amused just observe whichever tasks must draw for, colors to choose, prescriptions to mix, businesses to close, celebrations and meetings to make all the year around , and you will be surprised.

Myth 3 Woman is Faithful: Ja! Woman is unfaithful to the husband, to friends to products and services from the moment in which she knows them. Woman needs well care and to feel protected, if your products and services, affective, security and materials do not satisfy the Queen, be sure you be changed by another supplier.

Myth 4 the woman is money saver : No, woman are BUYERS and knows to do it in a professional way, do not be surprise that your product or service already has investigated it, from the rank of price, quality, characteristics, time of delivery with your competitors.

Myth 5 the woman is egoistic and stingy: Myth, myth, myth. Be sure, if you deliveries a product and service of high quality will share it with all, beginning with its relatives, their near friends and later in its labor field.

Briefly by the times of the times woman is Queen and will continue being Queens and needs attention and care, like you, like me and any other person.

An awaking history

This is a Queen who is a housewife, as all the queens, make dinner, put the washing machines; call by telephone takes care of the child, the cat and the parrot.

The husband arrives, and he says to him "how tired I am' ' goes very badly in the office". The queen answers, tired? If that so, we changed rolls tomorrow, and the contented husband says to her is fine.

The wife goes to the office, realizes the work of the husband and she concludes the day, when she returns to her house, hopes of course, that the 125.50 tasks are made in home will be finished.

When arriving she opens the door and she observes dirty clothes thrown in the floor, the boy eating land of the flowerpots, the cat is wet of which the boy put it in the toilet, and the cat eats the parrot.

Of course this is a disaster, and soon, observes the loved husband with a frying pan apparently cooking something-her question JUAN!! What is this?, and Juan answers:, Oh, do not interrupt me, don’t see I am concentrated, I am frying an egg.

It is not an invention, well some things are, but I am Juan and also this history gave me an existential shock when I verify this in my self.

Woman Power

Woman has Power

Woman has Power; I observed everywhere, at sight, hidden and in the middle of everything.

Who drives the greatest and luxurious cars? Woman.

Who administers home and business income? Woman.

Who makes the events, the celebrations and familiar meetings, community and businesses? Woman

Who is the most fervent social fighter? The woman.

They give me tenderness with those little faces of innocence and beauty driving a 07 SUV or big truck of 8 cylinders, they used to purchases the groceries, laundry and take the children to school; while the husband drive a Toyota Camry 88 of 4 cylinders; after all; the husband does not work as much as them, they say.

I have the experience of Queens that received me at their homes as a salesman of my company, I designs, fabricate and installs wood closets, for them and its family members.

In the beginning it’s was a surprise to observe the space the Queen destines for their closets on measurement for they children.

The Queen of the house says "the space of 6 feet wide by 8 of height is for Alejandrita, the one of 1 ½ of wide by 6 of height we left it to Pepito; anyway he does not need as much clothes and accessories."

I cross the international border with the United States from Tijuana, Baja California to San Diego, California quite often, at 5:30 a.m., is a two to tree hours line, in this schedule the vast of the people who crossed drive a Pick-Up, Trokas or light truck as you want to call them; and all are working men of some craft, blacksmith, carpenter, plumber, gardener, flooring and tile, etc, and one or two administrative executives.

I do not see even a few woman who drives a light truck with a rack of iron full of hand tools to work in the United States, but they drive a SUV's and they make one long delay, of 3 hours sometimes; only to make purchases and fun, and a big number of Queens in that delay are make up they little faces, does not be that the North American customs officer sees them ugly.

The Queen likes power and it demonstrates frequently, it is normal to notice women driving a Mustang, a Lincoln Navigator or an Avalanche, cars designed with power, style and presence for the strong and vigorous men like the motors that contain these cars, and on the contrary, I do not observe many men driving a Ford Escape or a Toyota Rav4.

In the dominion of its kingdom, they drive cars of present model and the old and used car is for the husband so he can go away to work.

A simple outlook in statistics, Woman are big in business, in extreme games, our own classrooms at the universities and in politics, they have advanced in great number and in many tasks of this type the number of women is greater than men.

In income per-capita of countries in evolution, they need to walk more, but that does not reduce them to be able; the queen of the home has a secret weapon with which it compensates that small economic weakness, THEY KNOWS HOW TO INFLUENCE, to obtain what wishes, is provocative, sensual and creates direct and indirect efficient and effective communication networks.

Woman is Queen, she has power and she knows how to used, our task is to discover how she is, and if they give us the opportunity to identify its secrets, since until the day of today anybody knows them, we tried to guess, to imagine and to please; but really we do not know and I know why: WE HAVE NOT ASKED THEM....
