My good friend the writer D.A. Adams stopped by earlier this week and we sat in the studio and talked late into the evening about art, life, fatherhood and the creative process. That kind of conversation is scarce in my life and cherished when I can get it. Like everyone else reading this blog or following me through social media, he had only seen the work in reproduction and it was pretty amazing to at last get a response in person. I've been running silent and deep the last week. I confess that I was ready to pull the plug on this blog and simply go to my photo blog as the sole documentation of this strange odyssey. I don't know why I'm back now.

This series of paintings is a powerful experience for me. I don't know how else to say it. Things have clicked, as though I have been trying to articulate something and finally realized that I needn't do so. Sometimes silence conveys so much more.

Gone are external reasons, expectations and concerns. I'm invested and I'm following the work at this point. Wherever it leads me I am willing to go.
