This October, we look forward to welcoming Legacy Five back to the Grand stage. When the legendary cathedral quartet retired in December of 1999, Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett decided to continue the rich musical tradition of Southern gospel quartet singing. Legacy Five was organized and had their official debut in January 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Since that day, they have made a major mark on the Southern gospel music world. Immediately, audiences responded overwhelmingly to their four-part harmony and their ability to effectively communicate the message of Christ. 2025 Mackinac Island Trio Series!

Register for three RunMackinac races (either the Fort2Fort 5 Mile or the Lilac Festival 10K, plus both the Mackinac Eight Mile and the Great Turtle Trail Race) and you will receive a special Mackinac Island Trio Series medal. This will be a separate medal from the other finisher’s medals you will receive at the completion of all three races, and will be awarded following the Great Turtle Half Marathon. 2025 Mackinac Island Trio Series!

Register for three RunMackinac races (either the Fort2Fort 5 Mile or the Lilac Festival 10K, plus both the Mackinac Eight Mile and the Great Turtle Trail Race) and you will receive a special Mackinac Island Trio Series medal. This will be a separate medal from the other finisher’s medals you will receive at the completion of all three races, and will be awarded following the Great Turtle Half Marathon. To register for the Trio, go to either the Fort2Fort or Lilac 10k races and you will see the registration box. You can also register individually for all three events and be eligible for the Trio and the medal.

Halloween comes earlier on Mackinac Island – the weekend of October 27-29! This weekend typically marks the last big weekend before most island businesses close for the season. Celebrate Halloween with the Great Turtle Trail Run, trick-or-treating for kids through downtown shops, and Halloween costume parties for adults throughout island establishments in the evening.

Friday, October 27th

6:30 – 10:00 pm: Haunted Trail and Maze at Grand Hotel, starts at Woodlands Nature Center. $5 for non-hotel guests, proceeds go to Give Kids the World.

Saturday, October 28th

10:30 am: Great Turtle Trail Run – 5.7 mile Run/Walk begins

10:45 am: Great Turtle Trail Run – Half Marathon begins

3:00 – 4:30 pm: Trick-or-treating through downtown shops

The fall color show on Mackinac Island is bursting forth this week with brilliant displays of gold and orange and crimson. There is still a fair amount of green but the splashes of color throughout the island are especially vibrant this year. Look for absolute peak sometime near this weekend with plenty of color next week and into next weekend.

The rooms are uniquely and tastefully decorated in a blend of English and French country style. Most of our rooms are ideal for couples or solo travelers, as they contain one queen bed ‹ either a four-poster bed, a canopy bed or a wicker bed. We also offer two rooms each with a king bed, one room with two queen beds and suite with access to side wicker porch. Guests are welcome to use our cozy living room with its quaint wood-burning stove as well as the spacious comfortable wicker-furnished front porch. Gourmet continental breakfast buffets are included in the room rates.

All guest rooms are air-conditioned with private baths. A complementary breakfast buffet is served each morning. Wireless internet access (DSL) is available throughout the inn.

Metivier Inn opens for the 2016 season on May 12 and closes on October 22, 2016.

Room rates are daily, based on single or double occupancy, up to quad occupancy for the suite and two-queen room. Rooms are subject to state tax, hotel service charge and tourism assessment fee.
