Traditional media is dying a slow death. People are buying less newspapers and the really good magazines are happy to keep their subscriber numbers the same. Broadcast media are in a larger battle with online video, and competing with the internet for face time.

And with the decline of traditional media comes the slow death of traditional marketing.For all but the largest brands, who can afford to spend millions on “old” marketing, counting on traditional marketing for growth is more or less a dead end. The old way of interrupting people with a one way message (from company to consumer), hoping that the message had mass appeal, and keeping fingers crossed that this limited effort had some effect has been replaced. By default.

Consumers, and businesses, have become a lot more sophisticated, realizing that they could search the web to find out more about a company and its products. And its customer service. And its pricing. And get unsolicited, brutally honest recommendations. In fact, there is pretty much no place to hide for a company any more. The internet has turned marketing into a personal, and personalized experience.

Companies cannot afford to ignore this phenomenon. But it should not only be a defensive mission, it is the most effective way to gain and keep customers in the history of mankind. For every person that a company chooses to interact with online, there are potentially thousands that see it, and can either be impressed or disgusted.

Every company should choose impressed over disgusted, of course.

Be there where the customers are, on the blogs, discussion forums and chatrooms. See what they are saying about your products, experience and what recommendations they are making. Interact positively and humbly with them, and your brand reputation increases. Offer advice, give away knowledge, give consumers reason to believe and trust you. Be a part of the new marketing, and your bottom line will grow along with your brand.

There are many companies that offer Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in Dallas. Most of them are good professional companies that won’t let anyone down, depending of course on what your expectations are of such an engagement.

Some SEO companies prefer to work in specific niches, or with companies of a certain size. That is also true for SEO companies in Dallas. We recommend that prospective customers investigate the options available thoroughly, and speak to at least three or four search marketing firms before making a decision.

However, on what basis should that decision be made? Search Engine Optimization is sometimes perceived (or presented) as some combination of skill, technology and magic. While there are most definitely some creative components to a good SEO campaign, the bulk of it should come from a combination of three things: A thorough search marketing analysis, an agreed action plan and crisp execution of that action plan.

Too many times SEO companies perform only a superficial analysis, and that leads to the execution of a search marketing campaign which does not achieve the best possible result. And in many cases, unfortunately, the customer is none the wiser.

So if you operate a company, or have a website, and live in the Dallas area, how should you go about finding the Search Engine Optimization solution that fits your situation, and will deliver optimal results? We, at Macrogrow, would like to offer some suggestions.

1. Look for a local company – Why? Because, even if you are addressing more than just the Dallas area from your website, it is still better to have the ability to have personal interaction. A website is (or should be) an integral part of your overall marketing strategy, and engaging a local company will make it easier to interact around your marketing plan.
2. Make sure that the SEO company gets marketing – Many really good SEO technicians don’t take the time, or don’t have the ability, to understand a customer’s marketing objectives, even if that plays a huge role in how the search marketing campaign is built.
3. Ask to see the analysis framework – A good search engine optimization analysis is key to achieving the campaign objectives. Many companies offer to do a “keyword analysis”, which would be part of it, but it should be much more. At Macrogrow we use the latest state of the art SEO tools to get a complete understanding of the search engine environment in which your website has to compete. This includes not only a keyword search density analysis, but also a very deep understanding of your top competitor’s websites.
4. Make sure that the action plan is scoped and priced – many times SEO companies leave the scope open-ended, intending to upsell you as soon as they have your business. If there are more services proposed, make very sure they are needed.
5. Look for progress. Ask for regular reports from third party reporting tools, like Google Analytics. While it may take time to reach your SEO objectives, there must be regular progress, or else the SEO techniques may not be working.

Macrogrow works only within the framework described above. Serving our SEO customers in the Dallas area, our only priority is your total satisfaction. Macrogrow has at its disposal the best SEO tools available to perform search marketing campaigns in even the most competitive markets, and will never perform any actions on a website that were not properly analyzed and agreed with our customers.

Please feel free to contact us. We will be glad to answer any questions, and demonstrate our abilities. We are your Dallas Search Engine Optimization solution.

Advertising is usually always viewed as beneficial to your business but if you are marketing to the wrong audience or if your advertisement is not seen at all by your target market, then you are actually wasting your time and money. Internet marketing is the number one online money making strategies of all time.

Your biggest obstacle to overcome in Internet Marketing is reaching your target audience. These are the people that will be most interested in purchasing the products or services you have to offer and will not need to be convinced a great deal to do so.

For example, if you market golf clubs and you place ads on websites for skateboarders, then you are essentially marketing to the wrong audience and wasting your efforts and money. You would want your ads placed on websites associated with golf.

Be sure to consider the amount of web traffic each particular website receives before deciding to place your advertisements there. The lower the amount of traffic, the least likely it is that there will be a lot of people seeing your advertisement on that specific website. Your advertising goal is to effectively reach as many people as possible within your targeted market audience. So, if you place on high traffic websites, the exposure your advertisements are getting is quite high and will surely result in a higher amount of traffic to your website.

Be selective about where and how many times your advertisements appear on different websites. Carefully placed ads on certain websites can generate quite a bit of traffic to your site but if your ads are all over the place on the Internet, then people will generally come to view them as SPAM or worthless. If this is their impression, then they will probably not visit your website because they will believe it to be a waste of their time or money.

After each of your advertisements is placed, start evaluating the results of your web traffic and tracking where the visitors are coming from. You can place coding in your links that will track and identify the source that they click your ad on. Spend time researching available tracking methods and mechanisms on the Internet to gain the best knowledge on how you should monitor the results of your advertisements. This will help to determine if each one is generating traffic or wasting your money.

Don’t just don’t focus on the home page, keywords and titles

The first step of converting a visitor to a customer is when someone visits your site to see the products or find the information they were looking for. Of course, search engine optimization and better rankings can’t keep your customer on your site or make them buy. Once a prospect is visiting your site, you have to ensure that he gets interested in your products or services and visits long enough to convert to a paying customer. Motivate the visitor to finish the transaction by providing clear and unambiguous information. If you happen to sell more than one product or service, provide all necessary information about the different products or servcies. You can keep the information on different pages, but be sure to link to all of them from an easy to find place on your home page. By providing suitable and easily visible links, the customer can navigate to these pages and get the details.

Understanding Your Target Customer

If you design a website that you think will attract clients, but you don’t really know who your customers are, what they want to buy, and how they behave when making a purchase decision, it is unlikely that you will see many conversions. Your website is an extension or replacement for a standard storefront, and customers need to have a similar or better experience than they would have in a walk-in store. One way to keep raising the quality of your website in the eyes of customers is to send email or conduct a live survey with your existing clients to ask them about their preferences. Why do they like your products? How do your discount prices or coupons compare to other vendors? Are your prices consistently lower than others? Is your shipping price cheaper? Do you respond faster to client questions? Are your product descriptions better? Your return policies and guarantees better than your competitor’s?

Does your website give enough contact information?

When you sell from a website, your customer can buy your products or access the information 24 hrs a day. Another advantage is that your customers need not be local, they can be from thousands of miles away. Always provide contact information, preferably on every page of your website, complete with mailing address, telephone number and an email address that is sure to reach you. People may need to contact you about sales, general information or technical problems on your site. It is also important to provide enough online payment options for credit or debit cards, PayPal or other online payment services.

It is one thing to have a high-ranking and visible website, but to maximize the return on investment form that website, it needs to convert into paying customers. By following the steps above, and taking into consideration the factors like user experience, possible objections and ease of use, your website can be a significant marketing asset.

Your business website is essentially your storefront, business card and most significant marketing piece all rolled into one. How it affects your visitors and customers is then essential to your success. Provide a memorable experience and customers are sure to return time and time again. Let’s take a look at five factors for creating a website that delivers return on investment.

1. Make your website interactive

As the internet continues to grow and evolve it’s becoming more important to create a community around your business. To accomplish this you want to engage your visitors and customers. This can be accomplished a number of ways. You can:

* Provide a forum
* Post surveys or polls
* Enable visitors and customers to review or rank items. For example a “How valuable was this article?” question and a scale of 1 to 5 stars or a ranking from 1-10.
* Offer a blog and inspire comments and feedback
* Host contests and sweepstakes
* Publish video and audio content as well as written content. This gives users another way to access you and your personality.

2. Make sure your website provides value

People go online for a number of reasons. They go online to research a potential purchase, to seek solutions for a problem they’re having and to be entertained. If your website provides all three; products, information, and entertainment then you’re in tip top shape. The good news is your content can provide both the information and the entertainment and when written well, can also inspire purchases. Here are a few ideas to provide value for your customers and prospects:

* How to articles, videos, and audio
* Tips articles, videos, and audio
* Case studies
* Workbooks and reports
* Interviews with experts
* Product reviews

3. Make sure your website is easy to navigate

It takes a visitor about 20 seconds to make a decision about whether they’re going to stay on your website or click away. If your site is laid out nicely, with products and services, information, prices, FAQs, and content easy to find then people are more likely to hang out – the longer they stay on your site the more likely they are to make a purchase or to return again.

To make your site easy to navigate consider:
* Keeping your site simple.
* Keep your pages uniform with the same options and appearance.
* If you have a lot of content, great! Use drop down menus and organize your content by topic for easier access.
* Offer a search function where users can search for products, services, or content topics quickly and easily.
* Provide a way for users to easily go back to previous pages. A back key is an option however if every page has the same options and drop down menus, including the ability to quickly return to the home page, a visitor will always be able to find what they need.
* Test your website’s appearance on different browsers to make sure every visitor has a good experience.
4. Make your website visually attractive

Ever visit a website and the text was so small or the colors so incompatible that you couldn’t read a word? Readability is critical to a selling website. Make sure:

* Your colors are easy on the eyes,
* Your graphics aren’t distracting
* And keep formatting like underlining, bold and italics to a minimum.
* Spacing between sentences and paragraphs is adequate
* Font size is large enough for people to read and font is easy to read

5. Give visitors a “soft sell”

People expect to be sold to and they’re looking for it – they’re wary. Instead of hitting website visitors with a hard sell, provide information, solve their problems and show them the benefits of your products or services. They’ll be much more receptive and appreciative.

Creating a website that sells requires a structured approach and a desire to create the best experience possible for your visitors. Once you’ve created your website, consider testing it and asking associates, friends and family for their opinion.

1. Update the pages on your website frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.

2. Offer additional value on your website. For affiliates and partners you can place links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product.

3. You can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special offers. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

4. Add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’.

5. Add a link ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ so that the visitor can email your website link, with a prewritten title, “Thought you might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it.

6. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page.

7. Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Also post your privacy policy as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site.

8. Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and clarifications about your product or your company that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site.

9. Ensure that each page on your website has appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the book mark.

10. Never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they no longer wish to receive.

Search Engine Optimization Quality guidelines have a direct impact on how search engines rank your website in search results and your website’s page rank. While they are listed as “suggestions” wise people listen REAL CAREFULLY when Google talks search engine optimization guidelines. Failure to follow the guidelines may cause websites to drop in rankings, or, even worse, be removed from Google. Here is one piece of search engine optimization advice on how to leverage the suggestions that Google makes, and sleep soundly at night… (while thousands of people visit your website).

Enhance Content

First of all, forget search engine ranking and website design and concentrate on website content. Create enough web pages to give a sense of what visitors will experience on your site. Email pages to people for their comments and feedback on your subject. Soon you’ll have a sense of what you have to offer and how to design your website. With the emphasis on content useful information to people, website design is logical and quick.

Site Maps

Site maps are how will people reach the pages on your website, but also determines how search engines view your site. A proven SEO approach is to provide a simple hierarchy and text links for your website along with a site map. If you don’t have one, Google offers an online site map generator. It seems like an obvious search engine positioning technique, but worth repeating – a visitor should be able to reach each page from a static text link. Your site map point to the right page and also boosts your search engine ranking – not a bad deal. For large site maps… over a hundred links, create smaller site maps.

Web Page Hierarchy
An important search engine marketing tool is the proper placement of titles on your web page – H1, H2, H3, and so forth. These title tags guide the search engine though you page and help it determine what to read first, second and so on. The main subject of the page should be identified with an H1 title tags and secondary subject with an H2 tag and so forth. The proper use of titles benefits both the reader and search engine optimization.

Search engine optimization (SEO) should be considered a critical element of any Internet marketing strategy. This is important because there is so much which can be gained from SEO in terms of Internet marketing and advertising. Failure to optimize your website for search engines can result in a considerable loss in terms of free advertising which is essentially gained from ranking well with search engines. This article will provide insight into what SEO is and will explain why Internet marketing requires at least some degree of SEO.

SEO optimization is a strategy in which a website is designed to obtain favorable search engine rankings from popular search engines. This may be achieved in a variety of different ways and optimal SEO strategies combine a variety of different strategies to complete one well orchestrated SEO campaign. There are several elements to consider when attempting to optimize your website for search engines. This may include keyword density, prominence, META tags, titles and inbound links. Keyword density is one of the most common SEO strategies and essentially involves using relevant keywords often in the content of a website to demonstrate the relevance of these keywords to the website. This is important because search engines are likely to reward websites with optimal keyword densities with favorable search engine rankings in an effort to provide Internet users with the most relevant websites for particular search terms.

The prominence of keywords should also be considered. This includes how close the keywords are placed to the beginning of the website. The common mistake with this strategy is to believe the first opportunity to incorporate keywords is in the first line of visible text on the webpage. This is not true because search engines crawl the code of a website as opposed to the visible content on the website. This means there are multiple opportunities to incorporate relevant keywords long before the actual visible content on the website. This might include the code for the title as well as the META tags. Business owners who realize the potential for incorporating keyword into the code gain an advantage over competitors who only incorporate keywords into the content on their website.

Another area of concern which is very important for those who are interested in SEO is inbound links. Inbound links are essentially links which reside on other websites and direct traffic to your website. These links are considered important because many search engines place a value on inbound links because they are essentially an example of one website recommending another website. However, when obtaining inbound links it is important to do so from other websites which rank well with search engines because many search engines consider the rank of the original website when determining the value of the inbound link.

Now that we have briefly explained some of the main concept of SEO, we will illustrate why it is important to optimize your website in the first place. SEO is so important because most Internet users highly value the results of search engines and are likely to only visit to ranking websites when they search for a particular keyword. Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant content first and are therefore not likely to visit websites which do not fall on the first or second page of search results. This means websites which rank well essentially are receiving a great deal of free advertising from search engines that place their website in a key position. Website owners who do not invest time into optimizing their websites miss out on a great deal of potential web traffic.

In general the answer to this question is always but the answer is much more involved. Sure search marketing is worthwhile but as with any type of marketing it is only worthwhile if it is done well. For example you can spend thousands of dollars on a television marketing campaign but if no one sees your commercials or your commercials do not reach your target audience and generate sales, the advertising was not worthwhile. So perhaps a more appropriate answer to this question would be that search marketing is worthwhile when it works. This is a rather vague statement but this article will investigate the issue further and explain how you can make search marketing work for your business.

One of the most basic principles of marketing is to make sure you reach your target audience. This is so important because your target audience is the people who are most likely going to be interested in purchasing your products or services. It is much easier to sell your products or services to those who already have an interest in the products and services you have to offer than it is to convince those who are not interested in your products or services at all. As an example consider a business who sells fishing rods. You will want to market your products to those who enjoy fishing either competitively or as a leisure activity because among this audience you are likely to find people who may be interested in purchasing a new fishing rod. It would make sense to place an advertisement for your business on a website selling bait and tackle or a website which organizes fishing trips in exotic locations. Conversely it would not make sense to place your advertisement on a website selling telescopes because you are not likely to reach a large target audience here. There may be some stargazers with an interest in fishing but your advertising dollars and efforts would be better spent placing advertisements with websites more closely related to your business.

Another factor to consider when purchasing advertising space on another Internet website is traffic the amount of traffic the other website receives. This is significant because you want to place your advertisement on a website which is closely related to your own and likely to attract a similar audience but you also want your advertisement to receive a large amount of attention. For this reason it is important for your advertisement to appear on a website which receives a great amount of traffic each month. This will help to ensure your business is getting a great deal of exposure through this advertising.

When it comes to Internet advertising, there is a fine line between great advertising and spam. Some business owners get carried away trying to get as much exposure as possible and can sometimes go overboard and wind up being considered spam. Internet users who see your advertisement in a couple of key locations will likely notice the advertisement and may be compelled to visit your website immediately or may keep your website in mind for future use. However, Internet users who see your advertisement everywhere they look are likely to view your advertisement as spam. This can be harmful because they are not likely to visit your website because they expect it to not be worthwhile.

In any search marketing campaign it is important to carefully monitor the results of your marketing efforts and make changes to your campaign as necessary. This is important because you want to make sure your marketing efforts are paying off and the best way to do this is to evaluate the results of your advertising carefully. One way to do this is to place specially coding in each one of your advertisements so you will know which advertisements are generating business for you and which ones are not. You can use this information to decide whether you should modify the ineffective website or stop running these advertisements. If you decide to modify them you will want to continue to monitor the results to determine whether or not the changes made the advertisements more effective.

There are many different ways to advertise your business on the Internet. Placing banner ads, orchestrating an email marketing campaign and tactfully mentioning your business on industry related forums and message boards are just a few of the popular options for Internet marketing. Another Internet marketing strategy involves creating and advertising a website to promote your business. You can use your website in a number of ways. Some of these ways include providing more information about your business and the products or services you offer, letting potential customers know how to reach you and even selling your products and services via the website. This article will highlight the advantages of using a website to market your business and will outline some of the ways the website can be useful.

One great advantage to using a website to market your business on the Internet is that you can place descriptions and photos of the products or services your business offers. This is important because many consumers use the Internet when researching products and services. Having an online presence gives your business an advantage over the competition because consumers are much more likely to select your products or services over the products and services offered by your competitors who do not advertise online.

Another advantage to marketing your business on a website is you can use the website to not only market but also sell your products directly. Again this can give you an edge over the direct competition. Consumers who use the Internet to research products and services are often very anxious to make their purchases and they would be more inclined to select a retailer or service providers who offer the opportunity to purchase products or services online over a retailer or service provider who only allows for purchase in a store or via phone.

Still another advantage to using a website to market your business is the ability to reach a large, worldwide audience. The Internet essentially knows no boundaries and advertising on a website means the business owner can reach competitors around the world instead of being limited to their general location. Advertising via other medium such as television, radio and the print media is somewhat limited and may only reach potential customers in a relatively small geographic area. Having said that, your website may still be more effective to find local customers than the Yellow Pages or local print advertising.

Another advantage to using a website to market your business is the Internet is available 24 hours a day around the world. This essentially offers you a storefront which is open 24 hours a day. While your competitors may be limited to their regular business hours, your website will enable you to reach your customers at any hour of the day. This is especially important for reaching potential customers in other time zones and for reach customers in your own area who are simply too busy to shop for products or services like the ones you offer during regular business hours. Many potential customers work long hours and appreciate the ability to research and shop online after hours.

One final advantage to using a website to market your business is you can actually generate a profit from your website in other ways than through sales to customers. You can also use your website to generate income by selling advertising space to other business owners who are marketing their own products and services on the Internet. However, care should be taken when advertising on your website. First of all you should not sell advertising space to direct competitors. This is important because this may cause you to lose potential business if potential customers opt to purchase product or services from competitors who advertise on your website. An ideal advertiser is one who offers products and services which do not directly compete with your own products or services but would be of interest to your potential customers. You should also take care not to place too many advertisements on your website. This is important because too many advertisements may detract from your business and may cause you to lose potential customers.
