Hello!
It has been forever since I have posted! But I have been so busy with work and school. But now that it is time for the holidays, I am back to crafty stuff! Today I made a rag wreath. I love how it only costed me about $7.00 to make! Down side...Time Consuming!!! It's totally worth it though! Here you go.

Things you will need:
I chose 2 fabrics - 1 yard of each
1 Wire Coat Hanger
Scissors
Any embellishments you want to add.
Time!

Step one: Stretch your wire coat hanger into a circle. You can just do with your hands.
(I forgot to take a photo of this step)

Step two: Cut your fabric into 1"x8" strips. This is the time consuming part. The good thing to remember is that it does not have to be perfect! It's rags! So no worries if not all pieces are cut exactly the same size.

Here's my piles =)

Step three: Tie knots! Lots of them. I double knotted mine.

Step four: Squish them all together. The closer you get them, the more full your wreath will be.

Step five: Add Embellishments & hang. I found this cute bow at Hobby Lobby on sale for $2!

Last Step: ENJOY!!!!

My First Upcycle!!!

Ok! So I finally took on a project and was quite nervous! You see, two years ago I bought this Cruddy dresser off a coworker for $20, because me and my husband (fiance then) needed something for our clothes! Here is our before picture. Not too terrible for $20

So we finally got into a nicer house and scored on AMAZING king size bed set! (I can share that at a later time!) Anyhow we no longer needed this dresser! However!....I did need an entryway table!! So decided to get a little crazy and do something bold! A red statement piece! I will admit, I was EXTREMELY nervous! But it turned out AMAZING! I freaking love it!

EASY PEASY BBQ!!!

Ok! I have to start out this post by letting everyone know, I have NOT THE SLIGHTEST clue how to Bar-B-Que!!! I have watched and flipped a few burgers to help my dad, but I seriously am so proud of myself this weekend. It was my dad's Birthday and I took over the grill, so that he could relax! A co-worker had brought in left over kabobs last week, and I was way jealous! I figured, it couldn't be that hard! and I was so right!

I set off to the store! I picked up some chicken breasts, shrimp, onions, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and pineapple! (feel free to add any fruit or veggies you and your family love!)
Note: I decided to do the chicken and shrimp on different skeweres, since the chicken takes a little longer to cook.
I marinated the chicken and shrimp in a red pepper sauce! It was a hit! and even better; I found it at Big Lots for only $2.00!
While the meat is marinating, also soak the skewer sticks in water (this keeps them from burning).
Then cut all your produce in to chunks
Thread the skewers and throw them on the grill and turn skewers occasionally.
The Chicken ones take about 10-15 minutes as the shrimp only took about 7-10!
I did not do this, but a friend told me for next time to line the grill with aluminum foil, to keep track of any pieces that fall off! I only lost one onion in the grill! haha not bad!

BASEBALL WREATH

THE FINISHED PROJECT!!!
(I LOVE IT!!!!!)

It is now BASEBALL SEASON!!! & GO GIANTS! Thank goodness! and I always see a ToN of wreaths that all spring time themed, but yet so much money=/ So I came across this idea and it was pretty much free!! (my kind of project!!!). And to top it off, my sports crazy hubby loved the idea too!
All you need is:
15 Baseballs**- from my friend's dad who coached little league!
1 wire coat hanger
Some ribbon & a pipe cleaner
Power Drill
Having a Handy Hubby helps too=)
** I got 15 baseballs, in case I messed one up (which I did! haha)

All you do is cut top of the coat hanger off, drill holes through the baseballs and thread them on the wire.
Then shape the wire to the desired circle and twist the ends to close.
Then the hard part came! Seeing as how I have never made a bow! I was at Michael's and found SUCH CUTE bows, but didn't want to spend the $30 (this was supposed to be a money saving project). So I bought some sheer wired ribbon and decided to give youTube a try (how hard could it be right).HERE'S HOW TO MAKE THE BOW

Finally! Life is starting to settle down! September 30, 2012, was a day to remember. I like to call it "The Best Day Ever!!!" That was the day I married my Best Friend! We Finally got our pictures back! I do love them. I will be posting more often and some fun & CHEAP wedding ideas that I put in place! Just for today a quick glimpse of our wedding venue. We went with an all-in-one inside venue! We found quite the deal! And it literally turned out AMAZING! I loved it. Our colors were Hot Pink & Black and it looked very classy. Here are a few shots!

My dad just LOVED his Father's Day card! Money is tight right now, saving and all for the wedding. My dad totally understood, and loved that I put thought into it, even though it wasnt very expensive.
This would actually work for an assortment of people and gifts. Moms, Dads, Co-Workers, etc.
And when I was looking at the candy aisle, there are so mant additional sayings that you could add, but I write huge! and my board only had so much space lol.

Chicken Enchilada Spaghetti

AMAZING! It really sounded like an odd combination, but it was surprisingly super delicious!!!

Original Recipe! - Her site has AMAZING ideas!
(Below is my tweaked version)
Chicken Enchilada Spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
1/2 pound of dry whole wheat spaghetti
1 10-ounce can of green enchilada sauce
3/4 cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
cilantro for topping (optional)
Boil water for pasta and prepare pasta according to directions.

While pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Add onions, peppers, salt and pepper and let cook until vegetables are soft, about 5-6 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, then stir in chicken, cumin, cayenne, paprika and chili powder, along with the can of enchilada sauce. Turn the heat down to low, drain the cooked pasta, then add pasta to the skillet too. Fold in cheese and mix thoroughly to combine. Toss with a set of kitchen tongs until everything is mixed, then serve with a bunch of fresh cilantro.

My boss gave out safety awards! $10, but instead of just giving us the cash he put these "safety stars" on each of our awards. Now we are doing $25 stars! So thought I would show you how they turned out.
Turns out they would make a neat gift or even a tip on a table. Anything! It adds just a little flare to your gift!

Stuffed Bell Peppers!

My hubby to be LOVES this dish! It is incredibly easy as well!

Start by cutting off the top to 4 bell peppers. (You can use any color, I prefer green). Place them in a steamer basket until soft! -Caution!: They will be VERY VERY hot!

In the meantime: Make 1.5 cups of white rice.

In a frying pan: Brown 1 pound of ground beef. Once the meat is brown add chopped up onions and bell peppers to taste. (I don’t really use too many exact measurements...sorry). Also add 2 can of Stewed Tomatoes.

In a large Mixing Bowl: Mix together the finished ground beef/tomato mixture and mix it with the rice.

Once the Bell Peppers are soft and done; pour the mixture into the bell pepper until it is “stuffed.”

I like to sprinkle on some fresh parmesean cheese on top!

Next: SERVE & ENJOY!!!

Easy! Deviled Eggs

This weekend was Easter, and it was my first attempt at making a snack to bring to the In-laws! I chose to attemp deviled eggs! I am so far from being domesticated lol, but this recipe made me look like a Pro! Better yet, it was soooo yummy too!

Mother's Day gift!

I actually made this for my mom's birthday and she LOVED it. So simple too! Pick a song and a photo and it's that simple! I chose "Somebody's Hero" by Jamie O'neil. It really is the perfect song for Mom!!! I used publisher and pasted the lyrics on the paper and inserted the picture and made it so the picture was surrounded by the text!
Then I took a trip to the local Michael's and got a really nice frame fr $3.99! They seem to always have a sale on frames! I always check there first!
Anyways, here's the final product!

Glitter Wine Glasses

Of course, I found this idea on pinterest as well! I went ahead and read all the reviews on this method and chose to go with the Martha Stewart All-purpose glitter! I had to do SEVERAL coats of glitter tho to get it this dark! Practically took the entire bottle. When I was don't I used a spray on adhesive paint. I would not advise putting these in the dishwasher, from what I have read. Handwash Only!

I've decided to try a hand at bow making! I am starting very very simple! I was in total shock how good my first bow came out. I watched this tutorial on YouTUbe and her directions were clear and very simple to follow!

Melted Crayon Art!

This has been a craft filled weekend! I am very pleased with one particular one! I got the idea from pinterest (my new favorite past time). There was not a direct link to any blog or anything; Just the picture! So I gathered my crayons, hot glued them to my canvas and started to blow dry! BEWARE: this project can get a bit messy! I had no newspaper, so i set mine in a box and blew it down into the box. When I was all done melting the crayons, I wanted to add a bit more. I found these fake flowers at Michaels for a few dollars and it added just enough touch!

Friend at work introduced me to an awesome app! Hopefully you have a Joann's Craft store near you! Just download this app, search through their coupons and "clip them to your wallet" Basically your wallet is equivilent to 'saving to your favorites', for quick access! And no need to waste paper! Just flash your phone to the customer service helper and save that money!

Not sure about where your located, but here in sunny California, the weather is gorgeous! Perfect time to start bike riding again! Of course I looked for an app! I found mapmyfitness app! LOVE it!!!! It maps your route, speed, everything. They make a clip on holder for your bicycle or just keep it in your pocket (if you have any:)). So glad it's time to break out the bike!!!:). Just sad I now live in an upstairs apartment. (a little extra workout getting the bike up and down the stairs;))

Easy Monogram Sign!

This is a wooden open shadow box, painted black! (ignore the wet paint).The background is a 12x12 scrapbook paper, and I found this letter at hobby lobby! I loved the font! I painted it pink! and added the est 2010 for my sisters wedding gift! To hang it, I added some 2" sheer black ribbon, but I took the picture before that. Works Great though!

Wooden Name Sign! - SIMPLE!

To make this wooden name block (or any text for that matter), choose a piece of wood. I used this leftover 2x6 from my fiance's construction project at work!
First, sand the wood down to a smooth touch! Then paint the entire wood block a single color, preferably two coats; this will be the color of the text! While the paint is drawing, cut out the letters you would like out of sticky vinyl. This is where my CRICUT machine comes in handy! (I love that thing!). Once the paint on the block is completely dry, stick the letters in place! Paint the ENTIRE block a different color; this will be the background color. Once the paint completely dries, peel of the letters, to reveal your awesome looking sign!
TIP: I like to spray an acrylic sealer on it to give it a little gloss; especially on girly signs!

Spinach Lunch wraps!

A friend at work had the best creation for a yummy healthy lunch, I’m so glad she shared this with me! All it consists of is spinach tortillas, deli meat, cheese, cream cheese (I use vegetable garden or chives) and spinach leaves. Basically pile on as much of the toppings as you want onto the tortilla and roll! It is insanely delicious and very healthy! Another plus is one wrap fills me right up!
