Review: Strappys, Decorative Bra Straps

For review, I was sent a set of Strappy diamond bra straps in the halter style, as pictured below. I was quite excited to review these decorative bra straps. You can pair with strapless bras or other strapless clothing (if I happened to own any tops or dresses that were strapless). Plus, isn't the packaging nice? I really should upload a better picture. I'm not quite giving it the justice it deserves. That and the rhinestones are much more sparkly and less 'cheap' looking that my picture leads you too believe.

As I am a girl who is fairly endowed in the boob department, I've never been a fan of wearing strapless bras. It's an uncomfortable feeling, and I'm always worried that I'll pop out. I would just wear a bra with straps, but plain colored straps with a nicer top is never a good look. But now I have a solution! Strappys are the prefect way for me to still get the support that I desire from straps, but with a stylish look to them. They're basically like jewelry, so you could ever get away without wearing a necklace.

So, here I am wearing my halter strappy. ...with a skirt being worn as a top for the sake of the picture, ha! I don't own anything besides a strapless bra, at least up here at school. At home I have a strapless dress that would look GREAT with these. Had I owned these around the time of my prom, I certainly would have worn them with my prom dress rather than worrying the whole night about my bra/ boobs falling.

I'm considering ordering from Strappys to get a pair of bra straps that are the traditional style. As much as I like the look of this here halter top strap, I'm a bit heavy chested and the straps and pretty small. I'm worrid that if I wore them for much more than an hour or two, it would start to pull all the weight on my neck. But that's a boob issue, not an issue with Strappys.

Review: Simple Luxuries Lotion Bars

Any of these products would make great gifts for friends and family alike, or a treat for yourself. Continue on to read my review of a delicious smelling lotion bar!

For review, I was sent the Forbidden Fruit Lotion Bar from Simple Luxuries that you see pictured below. (Terribly sorry about the quality of the picture. I used a photo editing app on my phone to get my blog URL on the image, and it killed the quality. But you can still see the product, which if the whole point after all.) The lotion bar is about 2 inches by 1 inch and comes in a deodorant-like container. It's the perfect size for putting in your purse for on-the-go use without the worry of it leaking, as it's a bar rather than a lotion.

I really enjoy this lotion bar! For one, it smells AMAZING. I'll have to keep it away from my sister, she's treatening to steal it so she constantly smell it. It's that good. It's the perfect size to put in your purse or backpack or travel kit. The lotion won't leak, as it's in bar form. The lotion itself is a very rich, smooth formula. I found that it was especially nice to rub onto the backs of my hands, as they tend to get pretty dry. I was also really pleased to see that the lotion only includes four ingredients; grapeseed oil, shea butter, beeswax and vitamin e.

Review & Giveaway: Mustache Cookie Cutters from Fuzzy-Ink.com | Ends 5/29

Fuzzy Ink offers a variety you different products, most of which revolve around mustaches! I have to say, all of their products see pretty darn awesome. For review I sent a set of mustache cookie cutters, as shown in the top, left image below. Each set comes with three different styles of mustache. My favorite you have to be the one in the middle of the picture below. I just enjoy the little curl up at the corners. I was never like my friends in their obsession with mustaches, but I still think they're pretty fun.

Clock-wise: the mustache cookie cutters, the wet ingredients, the finished dough, the dry ingredients.

In order to give my little mustache cookie cutters a go, I decided to make sugar cookies from a recipe I knew. Now, the original dough for those cookies was a bit soft and not conducive to cookie cutters, so I had to add a bit more flour, which mad the cookies ever so lightly dough-y. Of course the minute the cookies were done I realized that the cookie cutters actually came with a perfect recipe on the back of the package! Heavens. Next time I'm in the mood to make cookies, I'll have to give that recipe a try, as I imagine it will be much better for using with cookie cutters.

Clock-wise: the last of the dough being cooked in round form, the uncooked mustache shaped cookies, the finished and cookie mustache cookies.

All in all, I was quite pleased with these cookie cutters and look forward to using them again. The cutters are well made and should hold up for quite some time. Mustaches are great fun, cookies taste delicious, and $5 from every purchase goes to the Movember Foundation! There is no downside.

I live in an area where, well, it never gets all that hot. I suppose there are people living here who have air conditioning, but at my family home, we don't. If it ever gets warm enough to require cooling down the house, simply opening up some doors and windows will do the trick. However, that won't always be the case for me. Ideally I would like to move to a sunny (and therefore warmer) climate. In that case, I would need to check out air conditioning options, like the one below!

The 'Split System Air Conditioning' form GreenHeat. This system uses inverter technology, versus the traditional fixed speed compressors. Now what it the heck does that mean? A fixed speed compressor starts and stops the motor to adjust to the changed in temperate. Inverter technology is more economical as it fluctuates with the changes in temperate, saving energy by not stopping and starting, but rather by staying constantly on and fluctuating with the temperature.

For review, I was given the offer to create my own custom t-shirt. I am such a t-shirt and jeans girl that I always jump at the opportunity to review a t-shirt. If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know this is not my first t-shirt review, nor will it be my last! I decided to create a shirt that featured my blog in one way or another. The picture below shows the t-shirt I received. The front of the shirt features my logo on the right chest and the back features my blogs name, URL and little phase (the name of which is currently escaping me; subtile, byline, what it it?!).

The shirt I chose to print on was a Hanes t-shirt, so you know it was super soft and well made. The printing job, as I hope you can see in the picture above, was well done. It's the kind of printing where the words are not slowly going to peel off as it ages and gets washed. That logo is there for good, which I was quite glad to see. Nothing worse than a poor printing job. My one slight complaint is that the grey of the t-shirt was a little bit green in the undertones for my taste, but it's really not a major factor.

All and all, I really like this shirt and will buy from them if I ever want shirts in the future (perhaps I'll buy some like mine to giveaway to you all?). I've been wearing this shirt to sleep in lately and I have to say, it's super soft and comfortable to curl up and get some rest with.

Trailer Tuesday: Iron Man 3 -- in theatres now!

So long as I remember and have trailer of interest to show you all, I might as well continue on with this whole 'Trailer Tuesday' shenanigans I seem to have started as of last week. Again this week I'm bringing you a short and sweet post with just a trailer to watch. Continue on to see the Iron Man 3 trailer.

Iron Man 3 is already in theatres, and I'm sure plenty of you have already seen it. I probably won't end up seeing in in theatres simply because I don't get to the theatres to see movies unless I'm with my boyfriend. It's just not something I really think to do, I guess. But I often see movies once they come out on DVD or on Netflix. I'll certainly watch Iron Man 3 at some point, considering I've watched and enjoyed the other Iron Man movies.

What I Wore: Week of 4/29

So, there really should be more picture here for this week, as I actually put in some effort this week. I'm missing the outfit I'm currently wearing because it's not all great to photograph. The outfit I wore yesterday is also missing simply because I never got around to getting to that one and only full length mirror I have access to. I could have asked my sister to help take a picture for me like a normal person, but I'm weird. SO YEAH, that's this weeks little tale. Let's see what the following week brings. ...and let's not get too excited about these 'What I Wore' posts, because I never dress continually with effort for long. Outfit One. ^

This first outfit is probably my favorite of the week, because those pants are just so grand. Paired with a white shirt, cardigan and the sandals I'll be wearing nearly daily for the next couple months.

Cute clothes and never spending too much!

Trailer Tuesday: Monsters University

Is Trailer Tuesday a thing I can do? I mean, why not. I really do enjoy and appreciate the emails I receive that let me know about new movies and their trailers. I'd really like to try and get in the habit of sharing more with you! If you're anything like me, you love a good trailer. I don't often see movies in theatres or even once they come out on DVD, but I watch a TON of trailers. Continue on to see the trailer for Monsters University!

This is one of those pending new movie releases that is inciting all all of those individuals my age who were kids when this movie came out to be rather excited. I've seen all sorts of memes jokingly telling the kids to 'get out of the way' that us older ones have been 'waiting years for this'. I know I have! I loved Monsters Inc, and it's blasphemy to not like it.

With Monsters University and Finding Dory this year is making out to be a great one for animated film! Specifically for Disney/Pixar. All of the animated films from my tween years are getting sequels, finally! I know I'm not the only one of my generation (and surrounding generations) to be excited! Review

For review, I was sent the bottle of OraMD 'The Mouth Doctor' that you see pictured above. OraMD is a liquid toothpaste that contains only three ingredients; almond, spearmint and peppermint natural botanical oils, that's it! OraMD helps fight plaque, tartar, bad breath, and promotes gum health. To use OraMD, all you have to do is add 2-5 drops to your toothbrush and brush as usual. You can also add a couple drops to a glass of water to use as mouthwash, or add a couple drops to your mouth to give you a burst of fresh breath.

I've really enjoyed using my OraMD toothpaste! As the suplemental readings suggest, the first couple times you use OraMD the powerful oils will be pretty strong. They certainly were for me, but after about three uses I got adjusted to the strength just fine. I found the bottle easy to use and apply to my toothbrush. I really felt that my teeth were super clean and my mouth refreshed after using OraMD. I don't really care for foaming toothpastes, so OraMD was perfect for me. Plus, if you break it down overtime, OraMD is less expensive than the next leading toothpaste! I would recommend this toothpaste to anyone who is interested! I think I'll be purchasing from them in the future.

Fashion Friday: What I Wore

So, I don't have a full length mirror at my apartment. The only way I can take pictures of my outfits is when I'm in the bathroom on campus (it's for my department floor, it's seldom occupied). I wore somewhat cute things this week as suppose to my usual t-shirt and jeans, so I thought I would share the pictures with you all. Unfortunately, there are only two pictures this time, as I thought of posting my outfits here later on in the week.

I wrote this about a week ago and just now got around to deciding to post it. For the most part, nothing has changed, though I'm feeling better and less sad as this post seems to sound. The future is not clear, it's not going to be easy, but I WILL make it.

As I begin my third week of the quarter, I have come to the understanding that this, my last quarter of school ever, will in fact be my hardest. Maybe not the hardest in the challenge level of the work, but rather the fact that there is just so much of it. One of my classes has me working on computer related sociology work with one assignment due at the end of the week, my other is a cultural literature study class of sorts (for my Humanities minor) requires a lot of reading and three papers, I'm a TA grading 16 weekly Statistics homework assignments, and lastly my senior sociology course has me writing weekly assignments that will culminate into part of my senior paper. I also work a couple hours a week after class until 5:30 three days a week, which makes my dats feel long (at least its light here until about 8pm now!) I guess I'm just busier than I though.

I apologize for the lack of activity this blog will inevitably be much less active in the next three months until graduation. Once I graduate and and back home (ideally just for the summer, but no more than a year!) I will be able to get back into blogging again more actively again. I'll also have more time to make YouTube videos (my old fashion and beauty ones as well as new review for my blog style videos).

I'm probably also going to be doing less reviews, and cry only a little when my stats and social media take a fall. I'll bounce back.

This here would be a picture I took tonight of two of the books I was reading for class.

This here is a picture of my desk actually being in use! It's from last quarter, but I thought it was representative of how this quarter feels, full but doable.

These pictures were taken on my first last day of school ever. I thought I should get at least one with my backpack. And the face is just because, well, it was a shocking day! Haha. (By now I assume you've all gathered that I'm not normal. HA.)

So, I thought I would share with you all pictures of some recent eats of mine that I photographed. I swear I eat healthier food than what you see! I just always seem to photograph the sugary goods. Haha.

I have very long Thursdays this quarter, 10-5:30 class and then work with only one 30 minute break. So coffee is a relaxing little break in the day. Iced coffee with milk, and an unpictured coffee cake.

Delicious spicy jalapeno sushi that I got last week. I also posted a picture to my FaceBook page if you're wondering why it looks familiar to you.

I had a little snack; crackers with cheese, meat and a dot of mustard. Yummy.

A chocolate cupcake with strawberries and melted powdered sugar icing over top. Delicious.

The Carries Diaries, featuring ModCloth fashion

Have you seen the show The Carrie Diaries? It follows a young Carrie Bradshaw back back long before the Sex and the City we all know (or at least I knew it well, haha). I was always a pretty big fan of Carried Bradshaw as well as the other ladies. I was excited when I first heard that they made The Carrie Diaries. I watched the first couple episodes on Hulu, but then school and work and being busy caught up with me. Now that the season finale is done, I'm going to try and watch all the episodes before the next season. One of the reasons I've always loved Carrie Bradshaw is her sense of style. It's not often something I would wear, or at least pair as she does, but I also enjoy it. The young Carries was just as much of a fashionista as her future self. The three looks you see above were featured in the season finale episode. My favorite piece above is probably the one of the right side, the Music in Me Skirt in Mix Tape from ModCloth.I could picture myself wearing that, and in fact I quite like it! The other pieces as also from ModCloth. Super cute, but not my style, unlike the skirt.

Have you ever seen a great make-up trend on a close friend or celebrity that you want to try, only to end up looking like a clown when the same products are applied to your face? This could likely be a result of the shape of your face simply being different than that of the person you are trying to copy. Knowing your face shape and skin tone can take you a long way in finding the right makeup products and the right application tips that work best for your specific shape. The shape of your face can even determine which shade of lipstick looks best on you. Once you understand your face shape, you can start looking for products that enhance your best features and turn your face into an eye-catching masterpiece. Heart Shaped Faces
Those with heart shaped faces have a narrow chin and a wider forehead. If this is your face shape, you want to draw the focus away from your cheekbones and chin that may be more prominent. Try wearing tones that are feminine, sheer, and soft. Create smoky eyes and use liquid liners that are strong to add even more definition to your features.

Square Shaped Faces
Those with faces that are square shaped have an angular hairline and jawbone. Your goal should be to soften your angular features with makeup that is feminine and soft with a texture that is shimmery. Avoid anything too harsh or severe, and blend a blush with rosy tones onto the apples of your cheeks. Use a gloss for your lips in sheer corals or pinks rather than darker lipsticks and liners.

Oval Shaped Faces
Oval shaped faces have a forehead and lower face that are the same width with longer sides. Your goal when applying makeup is to shorten the length of your face, and really define your lips and your eyes. Use a lip liner before applying lipstick in order to define the area of your chin. Blend a darker or medium eye shadow shade in the creases of your eyes after applying a sheer color shadow foundation. Use a bronze toned blush to sweep color across your cheeks in an upward motion from the apples to the temples.

The same products won’t look good on every face, and every woman needs to learn the specifics of her features before learning to apply beauty products. If you take the time to learn the best ways to enhance your features, you can guarantee that you will stop traffic with some simple makeup application.
