Couples Bowling Night

Last Saturday, Nik was home for the holiday so we decided to invite a bunch of people out for bowling!

Thankfully, there were only 6 of us because I had a coupon that covered our whole evening for $12 a person (includes bowling, shoe rental, pizza, and bread sticks)

Nik and I got there a bit early, so we played games in the arcade until everyone arrived.

And then the shenanigans began. Thank you Zach for photo bombing with your hand

The group of older bowlers in the lane next to us were so extremely rude! A 50+ woman would practically drape herself across the floor as she flung her ball toward the pins. She then had the audacity to walk over to our current bowler, Zach and tell him to follow "bowling etiquette". And why did she say such a thing? Because they both bowled at the same time. None of her other teammates followed her ridiculous rule, but we laughed it up for the remainder of the evening.

Just as our time was nearing it's end it became cosmic bowling time! It was kind of cool because they had a fog machine to reflect the red laser lights more.

Afterwards, Zach and Sami had to leave (it was around 9:30 by that time) so Abi, Eric, Nik, and I went back to the arcade area to finish off our game cards and buy candy as our prizes.

All in all it was a great time and it was very nice to spend time with friends. Hopefully we can do it again sometime!

Holy Jesus I'm finally updating!

Well last Thursday was Thanksgiving and my parents cooked a full meal at our house, then transported it all to my grandmother's house (about 20 miles away).

There, we heated things up and had a lovely meal with my grandmother and uncle.

It was so freaking delicious. The pies came from the bakery my mother works at in St Paul

Instead of stuffing the turkey with stuffing, my father put oranges in it, it was so delicious!

It was a whopping 21 lbs, there was so much left over..

All in all it was a lovely day! Until the snow started sticking to the great outdoors. We were nervous about getting home but we made it just fine!

On Black Friday, Abi and I went shopping (not until around 10:30 a.m. though so it wasn't so severe). The best deals we found were at JoAnn's where I got 3 canvases, a paint kit, a vinyl box/crate, coloring book, and paint brushes for $37. We also went to Kohl's, Target, Claires, Ulta, Petsmart, and Sally's which was pretty fun.

NAM Weekend

Well, a few weeks ago, I was in a pageant called National American Miss. It was a 2 day competition in which we were judged on poise/presentation, interview skills, personal introduction, and other various competitions. It was held at the lovely DoubleTree by Hilton in Bloomington.

To prepare for this event, I had to get a few new items,

Some white tennis shoes (or in this case basketball shoes)

Some new earrings, and a new dress that we'll look at later

Oh also there's a panda.

DAY ONE.

Day one, hardly counts as a day because it was the travel, check-in, and a small party day. It took forever to get all checked in but that was alright. I couldn't figure out where exactly the party was in the building, so I ended up getting a bit lost and being 10 minutes late, but nonetheless it was fun.

DAY TWO.

Day two was Orientation, Spokesmodel Competition, and Formal Wear Competition

A lovely picture of me giving my speech about success. Funny story here; all of the people who did this competition (which were 8 girls in my division) gave their written/typed speech to a staff member who put the stack of speeches on the podium. Once you were done with your speech, you would take your paper and then it'd be ready for the next person. Given that my last name starts with a W, I was unfortunately last.

Well Girl Number 7, Monique, accidentally took my speech with her. Now I did my best to be memorized but I was super nervous, and I had to stop in the middle of my speech and say that my speech had been taken. I was accused of not even giving my speech to the staff member, until the girl before me very apologetically said she had my speech, and I was then able to start over.

Many tears were shed after this event because I had been so nervous and I tried really hard, and it sort of blew up in my face..

After the Spokesmodel Fiasco, I had many hours to get ready for the Formal Wear Competition. My boyfriend, Nik was my escort, and you really can't mess this up. All everyone had to do was walk up on stage, the contestant would step forward, walk around in a circle, stand there till the escort came forward, then walk off stage. Pretty simple.

DAY THREE.

Day three was rehearsal, Personal Introduction Competition, Interview Competition, and the actual Pageant.

This was me looking sort of ridiculous since I was talking and giving my 30-second introduction. The girl next to me was last year's National American Miss Teen Alyssa L. She was the sweetest thing, with an excellent voice. In the morning during rehearsal, her and I had a whole conversation about how fiber affects the body. While waiting for the interviews to start, she told funny stories about her dinner the previous night, then she somehow heard that I was in choir, and proceeded to yell at me for not competing in the Talent Competition. It was pretty funny.

The interviews seemed to go well, the only question I got a bit tripped on was "If you were to have a party here, what two songs would you play?" Seriously, what am I supposed to say to that? Usually I don't listen to American/English music very much, so I answered the best I could with Korean songs.

Here was the stage in the Ballroom at the hotel, which you may have seen in previous posts from Anime Detour, which takes place in the same hotel.

Here were all 48 of us. We were by far the smallest division. But everyone was super nice and friendly.

The dance number was pretty fun, and easy enough to learn. The girl to my right was the girl who one the top title...and many other awards..

During the award ceremony, patiently waiting for names to be called. Unfortunately, the only time my name was called was when I was told I was in the top 50% of the competition, but I was very discouraged when Kayla (2012-2013 NAM Teen) won basically every award.

It was a great experience, maybe next year I'll do better if I compete again.

Bowling Night

Last week Nik and I went to Brunswick Zone XL with one of our couple friends Sami & Zach

First we did arcade games, which I didn't do very well, but I did win a ball from a claw game!

Then it was off to bowling!

Fourth of July Celebration

Hello! I've finally uploaded my pictures to my laptop so here we go :D

Starting on July 3rd!

It has been so hot! It's hard to keep matte skin x-x

I painted my nails based on Michelle Phan's 4th of July video. I added ChinaGlaze Techno to the tips through to make it pop a bit more. It was really difficult since I had to take a detailing brush from a different nail polish, but it ended up working great. But me being the greatest person in the world while they were drying I nudged my first finger (which I was trying to hide) and had to redo the next day.

In the evening, Nik, my father, his girlfriend and her family went to the fireworks at the high school. Nik and I tried to meet up with Abi and Eric but we couldn't find them so we just sat down and enjoyed the fireworks.

So here are the firework pictures that turned out!

The bright circle beneath the firework was the moon, it was so pretty as a backdrop!

The smoke was so heavy! I'm glad we weren't sitting in that direction

The next day was the real Fourth of July, which is also my grandmother's birthday. So we were off to her house!

I attempted to be festive, but since I don't really have red clothing, I had to substitute for pink

Father was also festive!

It was a nice quiet party with not too much drama. Plus our family friend who lives in San Francisco came to visit!

In the evening, we heard the loudest things ever. What was it?

The neighbors kiddy-corner behind us apparently went to Wisconsin, and got the BIGGEST FLUFFING FIREWORKS THAT YOU SHOULD REALLY NOT BE LIGHTING SO CLOSE TO TREES AND HOUSES.

Despite this, my parents and I stood in our driveway to watch, when they'd stop my parents started yelling "MORE! MORE! MORE!" and they got what they wanted..

It was so interesting to be so close to fireworks that large.

Anyway I hope you had a lovely, fun, and safe Fourth!

Ulta Haul

The other day I went to Ulta and spent..more than I should have XD

Here is what I got and how I feel about each item ^-^

Ecotools brush set. ~$17

Each brush works fairly well, I just wish it came with a smaller fluffy-brush for blending

Studio Gear #16 foundation brush. ~$25

The most expensive thing I bought, so far its been really nice, I think as long as I keep it clean it'll prove to be worth it

Covergirl #275 Kiss Balser. ~$7

This lipstick is SUPER shimmery, but if paired with the right lipgloss, looks really nice

Studio Gear Invisible Loose Powder Light. ~$24

If I use a Kabuki brush it's perfect, but the puff it comes with is a bit ridiculous since it's super compacted and just not right for covering liquid foundation.

Ulta Boxset. ~$20

This is really cool, it's 5 palettes (6 eyeshadows, 2 highlighters, and a blush on each), 6 liners, and 2 lipglosses. It has a lot of every day colors but not really any "fun" ones (like yellow for example). They're really nice, but they break apart kind of easily. But since it was so cheap I think it was totally worth it!

China Glaze #868 Peachy Keen. ~$7

It's like the Apricot color of Crayola! Plus it's been 3 days, no topcoat and no chipping!

It's miraculous!

Graduation Party

On Sunday, I hosted my graduation party.

Everyone woke up late, so we had to scramble!

It all turned out though

I was officially gifted with the Jeep that I usually drive (now to get my license..)

Well, it's been almost two whole months since I've posted.. I've just been so lazy..

So here is a quick update on what has happened in these almost two months

I received my Liz Lisa bag

For Honors Law & Politics, seniors must create a "Senior Project" which is a community project in which you have to do something that helps others. Myself and my group of 5 others worked with the Anoka County Historical Society to create two children's books for Ramsey Elementary and Lincoln Elementary schools. Then we presented said books to classes in the schools and gave them the books we made. Here was the picture we took at Lincoln to prove we were there.

I received a $500 scholarship from the American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Fund which was presented by Norah Wyman. I've known this woman for all of my school career because she worked at my elementary school and since we had the same name (which is uncommon) we became close. So it was a surprise to see her and she looks exactly the same way she did 12 years ago, no joke

I received a certificate saying I was graduating with High Honors, this photo was from the Honors Assembly.

I started my own garden including marigolds, lilies, petunias, a cantaloupe, a green pepper plant, strawberries, and a few other flowers that I honestly don't remember the others

These are photos from the Senior Breakfast that was held about a week and a half before school let out. We received our yearbooks and pictures and everything

Then I came graduation day (June 5th) and my aunt from Texas came up to visit. So it was really exciting to see her! I may even visit her, my uncle and cousins later on this summer!

The first one I went to was my friend Laurin's party. Laurin and I have been friends since the 2nd grade, and during that time everyone thought we were twins.. It was nice!

The second party was my friend Sami's that was on the same day as Laurin's. For the majority of the time that Nik and I were there we all played volleyball which was really fun! My arms ached the next day but it was okay!

The third was my friend Cameron's, but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures there.

And lastly, just yesterday I went from the almost black hair..

to Ash Blond! The lighting is really bad on my webcam and I didn't bother actually doing my hair today.. There was supposed to be a lot of pink, but the stuff I bought basically rinsed right out so I'll have to try again later..

So that's it! Two months wrapped up into one post! I'll try once again to stay more up to date now!

Prom 2012

Last week was prom night at the International Market Square.

It was alright I suppose but I guess I really just wasn't in that partying mood..

Plus Nik had been really sick all day and we weren't sure if we could even make it so it was all a very frustrating ordeal. Plus since I was still not used to my short hair it just wasn't having it.

Twins Game

Almost two weeks ago, Nik was given free tickets from his boss to the Twins vs Red Sox game!

They were dugout seats so they were really good seats (pretty expensive too, we noticed)

We decided to take the train down like many others did.

I would hate to be in those super high seats!

I mean those are REALLY HIGH UP.

We got a pretzel and soda in the special dugout lounge. I felt like such a VIP..

It definitely wasn't an Auntie Anne's (my weakness at malls) but it was okay~

I wish they actually had stools or something..

Field Trip

Well let's get down to business starting with...

The choir field trip!

A couple weeks ago, the Women's choir had a long 17 HOUR field trip.

We started at Armstrong High-school where we sang with each other and ate doughnuts.

Then we were off to Crown College where we worked with their conductor. But we were very early so we went to their coffee shop and chilled for a while

After the mall it was off to Chanhassen Dinner Theater to see the musical Hairspray

I was kind of disappointed that we were in such a nice place and they gave us these to drink out of..

Salad! Not a lot of girls liked it because of the dark lettuce, but I really like it.

Super chewy bread but it was also good

The amazing steak and mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. It was super good!

Then afterward we got sundaes and I felt slightly jipped..that is a SAD SUNDAE. Plus the whipped cream on each side were unsweetened.. so depressing..

The stage! I found it interesting that the pit was above, it was kind of cool.

The show was very good

We didn't get home until freaking midnight and then we had to go to school the next day.. Fortunately I was allowed to go in late, so that was nice.

Detour

Last week (See I'm catching up!) I was invited to Anime Detour. I was given a free ticket by a friend who last minute decided he didn't want to go because of other reasons. I ended up staying with my friends Kate, Rachel, and Samy for a night and then going home the next day, despite it being a 3 day, 2 night thing.

So here are a few pictures from the Friday-Saturday I was there! [Sorry there aren't many, I ended up forgetting my camera in the hotel room, (which was on the 18th floor so I didn't really feel like going back to get it)]

The second day I decided to change my skin tone and wear a frilly dress, which is technically a Vocaloid Miku dress, but it's not a popular dress so no one knows that

This day I made my purchases (which was a mug and a wig) and watched Hetalia season two, and part of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

There was a nice woman in the lobby who had her pet bunny with her! He was the softest thing! He had an injury around a year ago so that's why his head is twisted. His handicap certainly didn't slow him down! He was hopping all around (under close supervision of course). It was definitely a highlight

Easter

Hello!

This past Sunday was Easter. We had a small get together at my house, with my parents and grandmother.

While I was watering a plant that was on the table, some droplets fell on the water-resistant table cloth and I thought it looked very neat!

Father's girlfriend, Megan gave me an Easter basket to give to him that morning. I set it out by his bed so he'd see it when he woke up but he didn't even notice! So I brought it down to him, and he was delighted!

I decided to wear a wig for the day, who needs to do their hair? ;D

Last month, my father and I went to shoot a spot for a local tv channel (QCTV 15) for Woodsman's Grill in downtown Anoka (where we work)

We were both super nervous, and made mistakes, but I think it turned out okay.

The Anoka Coffee Shop

A few weeks ago (yes, finally updating, it's ridiculous how awful I've been with this) I had lost my wallet and had to go in and get a new driver's permit. While my father was waiting, he walked over to a place called "The Anoka Coffee Shop" which was in the same strip mall as the DMV. It turns out they have a full breakfast and lunch menu and is owned by a nice man named Ken.

After getting everything situated at the DMV, we went over and had lunch at this little cafe (which only sat 32 people it was so tiny!). I ordered the PIZZA burger, how unique!

It was served "Juicy Lucy" style, where the cheese is cooked in the middle of the meat and it super melty and delicious!

Look at them all!!!! It's really amazing, most of them had been donated by various customers. There are at least 300 cookie jars there.

Last Tuesday, Abi and I got together to do pictures for our contest entries, which I'll talk about later.

The weather was so great for mid March! It's hit nearly 80 degrees!

In Tabot, a very expensive store for older women. Everyone of the employees said hello and it scared us a little..

A small school project and the beginning of Spring Break

Monday in Entrepreneurship we had to create a toy and sell it to the class

Anyway back to the toy!

I ended up pretty much designing and creating the whole thing with help from Nik, our other partner did basically nothing. We also added a fourth person since she had been absent the day before. (This made our product more expensive)

Double dates and head-scarves

Last Sunday,

Abi, her boyfriend Eric, my boyfriend Nik, and I went to Grand Slam and Dairy Queen

I decided to try out a head scarf, which seem to be rather popular

This was before I went to work early in the morning

Later on I changed and took on a rather 20's themed outfit

Wedgies: Target ($8.98!!!!!)

Scarf: Claires (very versatile accessory!)

Dying Ricky's hair

Hello!

Last weekend, my father's girlfriend's son came over wanting me to dye his hair.

It was my first time bleaching hair; it also my first time with ethnic hair.

He practically died from how itchy his scalp was during the process [which is fairly common]

We had to bleach it twice before moving on to the actual dye.

Rinse time!

After about two hours of process, he was very pleased with how it turned out!

I was also pretty happy :D

Today, Maxwell was digging in my bag, and pulled out my camera.
