Day with an Abigail

Last Tuesday, Abi and I got together to do pictures for our contest entries, which I'll talk about later.

The weather was so great for mid March! It's hit nearly 80 degrees!

A small school project and the beginning of Spring Break

Monday in Entrepreneurship we had to create a toy and sell it to the class

Anyway back to the toy!

I ended up pretty much designing and creating the whole thing with help from Nik, our other partner did basically nothing. We also added a fourth person since she had been absent the day before. (This made our product more expensive)

Last Sunday,

Abi, her boyfriend Eric, my boyfriend Nik, and I went to Grand Slam and Dairy Queen

I decided to try out a head scarf, which seem to be rather popular

This was before I went to work early in the morning

Later on I changed and took on a rather 20's themed outfit

Dying Ricky's hair

Hello!

Last weekend, my father's girlfriend's son came over wanting me to dye his hair.

It was my first time bleaching hair; it also my first time with ethnic hair.

He practically died from how itchy his scalp was during the process [which is fairly common]

We had to bleach it twice before moving on to the actual dye.

Rinse time!

After about two hours of process, he was very pleased with how it turned out!

I was also pretty happy :D

Treble Fest

Last Wednesday was the school district's Treble Festival. This year, Anoka hosted it.

Women's choirs from Andover, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Osseo, and Maple Grove were crowded into the auditorium and we sang for each other and also worked with a retired choir teacher named Judy Sagen.

We were asked to wear black with an accent color. I decided to wear my F21 Black dress with my giant new scarf. I knew I would get cold in the auditorium so it functioned as a blanket for Abi and I. Might I just say, best quarter I've ever spent.

During the break, Abi and I went to her locker where she pulled out a box of Girl Scout cookies

These are the best fruity cookies I've ever tasted. We finished the box, just the two of us x-x

Goodwill President's Day shopping

In downtown St. Paul, there lies a huge Goodwill

My mother, Abi and I went there on President's Day.

We saw various interesting benches there

It's so interesting when you're in an area filled with art students.

Either way it was a really fun day, I got a ridiculously giant scarf, two blouses and a mini-dress type thing.

We also went to a consignment store called Second Debut, Abi bought me a jean dress, which there will be pictures of later ~ it was super nice of her >~<

Day at the Zoo (Conservatory)

Last week Abi, Nik, Nik's family, and I went to the Como Zoo Conservatory to take pictures despite the fact that it was late January XD

Abi poking koi fish in the pond. They weren't skittish at all which was really surprising. The fish let you poke them in the head and they didn't react at all! The sign next to the pond only said don't pick leaves and feed them to the fish, nothing against poking and touching them though. It was just so interesting!

New Pet!

Well, Frederick, my beloved fish must [swim?] aside.

A few weeks ago, my father and his girlfriend Megan were out and about and went to go pet animals at the Humane Society. While looking at the dogs, he immediately saw one named Midge (or Midget, no one could really figure it out) who looked exactly like the miniature version of our old dog, Roxy, who had passed over a year ago. One of the few times in his life, he spontaneously got this dog and we picked her up the day after next and re-named her Shadow. (Which she has very much so lived up to that name, she follows everyone all the time. If she could go in two different directions to follow people, she definitely would.)

She's super shy but energetic when she wants to be

She's half black lab and half Australian cattle dog

Although she's about 40lbs, she has an addiction to climbing on people.

She's very loving and will roll over at the sight of ANYONE! So submissive it's insane!

Open Mic Night

Last Thursday, Nik and I went to Avant Garden in downtown Anoka

We met up with some friends, Chelsea, Mariya, Katie and Squee (Lindsey) to see our friend Maxwell perform at Open Mic Night

Nik got a cherry Italian (Or was it French?) Soda

I got a simple hot chocolate ;D

Surprise ~

I have a surprise..

I got a hair cut ~

Since my hair was in really bad condition, I decided to chop off a good 6 inches.

I do still really want long hair, but I wasn't going to achieve that with how awful my hair was

Hopefully now it'll grow healthier!

I initially modeled it after Nana Suzuki's short hair, since it's super cute:

The hairdresser I had from Cost Cutters was awful.. He sprayed water in my face, multiple times, and combed my hair directly against my face. He had cut it to my collarbone and I said "Ehh.. y'know I think I want it a few inches shorter." and he tried to convince me for a good five minutes that it looked good how it was. I assume it's because he didn't feel like dealing with me anymore. All he did was complain about how dry my hair was (because of how processed it is, yeah I know, jesus) So, it was an unpleasant experience.

Oh look, someone else got her haircut too! (The day before me actually) It's super cute ~

Last Monday on Martin Luther King Day, my mother and I had a craft day together

I decided to do the melting crayon project but with my own twist

This is how it turned out! I was super pleased, it look about 3 hours and a bit of frustration at first. I had taped the crayons to the canvas like it's shown in the tumblr photos, but the tape stopped sticking way before the crayons were melted, or even warm in most cases. I ended up heavily drawing in the colors on the canvas, and setting them closely to a space heater (once again, hairdryer is not hot enough for the impatient Nora) then I would use the remainder of a crayon to push down the hot wax so it would create the dripping effect. So awesome!
