Just in... According to a LAPD officer's notes it took Chris Brown nine days to apologize to girlfriend Rihanna for allegedly beating and biting her. Maybe you should go back and reread that last sentence. We are still using the word allegedly after, photo's, police notes, bite marks, and blood found in his car. According to the report that was released February 6th, 2009, Rihanna's assistant received a text message from Chris Brown on February 17th apologizing for what he'd done and saying he was going to "get help."

Sources in the legal field are saying that Rihanna should not be with Chris Brown, and that he needs more than help, he needs to be punished.

According to the LAPD's police report Chris Brown "lost it" with Rihanna, and he became enraged and psychotic. It's pretty hard to imagine Rihanna, ducking and trying to protect her face as Chris Brown mercilessly beat her inside a car.

The initial assault was brought on by Rihanna objecting to Brown receiving a three page text message from a former lover. (Insider sources have told Jackin4Beats.com that Paris Hilton was the sender. However we still haven't been able to confirm the statement.)

Brown didn't care for Rihanna's opinion, and tried to push her out of the car. When that didn't work, Brown, according to Rihanna, "took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window, causing an approximate one inch raised circular contusion. He then started punching her with his right hand as he drove. "The assault caused [Rihanna's] mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle."

I was going to reserve my opinion until all the facts were in. Well it would appear that the facts are in and I must say... I am very disappointed in Chris Brown as a human being, especially once I discovered that the assault continued, painfully, for some time until Rihanna was able to grab his car keys and escape. He beat her and bit her?!? I enjoy the guys music and feel that he is a very talented person, however I will no longer support his career.

Like it or not, Rihanna is a role model for young people. If she decides not to testify against Chris Brown, and put him in jail, my question is, what type of statement is this making to young women around the world. Along with fame comes a since of responsibility. No self-respecting woman, superstar or not should tolerate such treatment. If Rihanna fails to do the right thing I feel that she should also be banned by radio and television stations.

Here's my bottom line on this story... I choose to no longer support Chris Brown because I feel that - that would be sending the wrong message to my kid, my readers, as well as my subscriber base. I also feel that Riahanna has an extremely important decision to make in this matter. If she refuses to testify against Chris then she is setting a horrible example for young woman around the world. Love shouldn't hurt, or at least that is my opinion. If she doesn't testify and she stays with this guy, I hope that she is also banned from radio stations and that parents stop their young children from listening to her music.

When our search for garden ornaments began, we discovered they fell into two categories: fat plaster ducks and crouching dwarfs, or marble fountains and pieces of statuary with high price tags.

The first group didnt appeal, the second was far too expensive. It was a case of getting along without ornaments or joining the "do it yourselves" we chose the latter.

Our first effort was a table made from a large tree stump and a piece of flagstone. The stump was cut off at ground level and placed under a tree, then the flagstone was cemented to its top. It proved to be a "conversation piece" when friends gathered around it during the hot summer evenings and doubles as a bird feeder all winter.

Later on two big wagon wheels came our way via a farm auction. These were set upright between rose beds and an old-fashioned rose planted in front of each. If you try this, dont use climbers, in less than two years they will be a tangled mass with nowhere to go but out on the lawn and the wheels will be invisible.

In the center of the garden we made a round bed for about eight bushes and some ground covers where we "feature" plants off and on. I think now planting some more permanent ground covers would have been a better choice, something with a more continuous and abundant bloom.

A heavy piece of driftwood was set upright in the middle of the bed and a sundial screwed to its top. Several years ago sundials were advertised in quite a few magazines. I havent noticed any for sale lately and its too bad, every garden should have one.

When father made a "wishing well," using weathered boards for the base and old shakes for the top for a non profit group he once belonged to. It was carefully hauled to their BBQ's and events like that, and set up near the entrance with a note tacked to its side asking visitors to "drop a coin and make a wish."

The resulting nickels, dimes and quarters, went into the organization's treasury. Two years was all the wishing well could take, so its sagging top was straightened, loose boards nailed back in place and it now stands proudly in his old-fashioned garden.

A birdbath was put close enough to a crepe myrtle bush/tree. The birds flock to the area all summer long. I think they feel sheltered and protected by the tree. Birdbaths can be purchased very reasonably at most garden centers and big box stores.

The first phase of a love relationship is called the Oceanic Love Phase. You know this phase. You might call it the "There's Only You" phase. You know, at first, there is all this love and pleasure, we enjoy each other immensely, the sex is great, we find ways to spend lots of time together.

We think of our new love all the time. We dont want to go to work. We just want to be with them. We want to make love and stay in bed and stay in each others company as much as we can. Everything that they do is cute or lovable.

Psychologists call this the oceanic love phase. It lasts up to six months or so and it creates a very powerful bond between us. It is very healthy and memorable. We shower our mate with attention, write them love notes, make them feel very special as they make us feel very special.

Of course, this period is a favorite for all of us. We feel "merged" and at times one with our mate. We know what love is and this is it. Our love can actually feel oceanic at times.

Then we begin to move out of that phase. Sorry, its gotta happen. No one gets to stay there forever. The movie Pretty Woman shows the falling into the oceanic love phase. It doesnt show what happened afterwards. We all romanticize this period and wish it would go on forever.

This is a great phase, however, it sets up some problems that often will doom the relationship later on. The main issue is that we can't stay in the "There's Only You" phase. Won't happen. Can't happen. Doesn't happen. So in six months or a year, we will be out of this phase.

We don't understand that it is normal to move out of this phase and feel less oceanic love and merging with our partner. When this happens, we feel that something is wrong, and can start to think our lover is no longer the one for us.

In actuality, we are just moving into the next phase of love relationships, which is the me/us phase. Here we get back somewhat to our own goals and needs in life. This is important. So don't make the mistake of comparing your current relationship phase with oceanic love and you can avoid some of the pitfalls couples fall into.
