Maine Medical Partners Endocrinology andamp; Diabetes Center is seeking a FT BC/BE Endocrinologist to join 8 physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers to support practice outreach initiatives in Midcoast Maine.

Specialists at Maine Medical Partners Endocrinology andamp; Diabetes Center care for patients with glandular problems and endocrine problems, including thyroid disease, pituitary problems, disorders of growth and development, fertility problems, certain types of bone disease, diabetes mellitus, lipid disorders and other hormonal disorders. The Center offers comprehensive services, including dynamic testing for endocrine disorders, infusion services, DXA, 1-131 therapy, thyroid ultrasound and on site biopsy.

The successful candidate will help support practice outreach initiatives by providing endocrinology and diabetes management services for patients in outreach clinics primarily in the Midcoast region of Maine. Candidates will participate in ongoing quality projects, and contribute to didactic sessions with Maine Medical Center Residents, and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program. Candidates must be fellowship trained in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Position Summary

This is the training preparation of a 4th tier career path. Under the general direction of the Inpatient Coding Manager or Director, this position is responsible for the accurate assignment of ICD-9-CM diagnostic and procedural codes (ICD-10-CM-/CS) for inpatient records; abstracting data elements from the EMR to determine accuracy and completeness of the inpatient record. This position utilizes the 3M Coding Reimbursement encoder and Epic EMR to compile data and complete related work assigned. Coding staff in this position serve as apprentices in the career path training for clinical documentation improvement as well as accurate coding of inpatient hospital visits for proper MS DRG assignment. Data reported is used to meet licensure requirements, statistical and reimbursement purposes.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Education: Associates Degree in Health Information Management and/or Bachelors' Degree in Health Information Management, or other science-based degree such as nursing preferred

2. Certification: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.

3. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an outpatient coder at an acute care or academic teaching facility required.

4. 5. Specialized Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of disease processes, clinical science, anatomy andamp; physiology, pathophysiology, pathology and laboratory medicine; knowledge of ICD-9-CM Official Guidelines, as well as ICD-10 training, for Coding and Reporting, AHA Coding Clinic and CMS regulations.

Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute is seeking an experienced Oncology Genetics Counselor to join our team. The genetic counselor is responsible for providing high-level genetic counseling. Duties include: identification of at-risk individuals that may benefit from genetic counseling or testing, clinical assessment of individuals and families regarding genetic cancer risk and risk management, and providing follow-up counseling. Participation in tumor boards and providing education to patients and families as well as to health care providers in the community will be expected. There will be the opportunity to practice face-to-face, telemedicine, and possibly group counseling models as well as opportunity to collaborate on genetic counseling research projects if interested.

The ETL administrator installs and maintains the Clarity Console used to transfer data nightly from the Epic Cachandeacute; database into the Epic Clarity database and ensures that the extract, transfer, and load (ETL) process is completed daily. INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIST

The Department of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE psychiatrist to join our Inpatient Medical Psychiatry Unit as a faculty clinician-educator.

Our unit is a high performing multidisciplinary service with a capacity of 21 beds and three interdisciplinary clinical teams. Our staff are experienced with both psychiatric and medical care with an emphasis on geriatric psychiatry. We have a full time physicianand#x2019;s assistant and access to the full spectrum of medical/surgical consultative services at Maine Medical Center. Maine Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry is seeking an outstanding educator to serve as Training Director of Child andamp; Adolescent Psychiatry.

Candidates must have demonstrated ability as a clinician, medical educator, and administrator and have an understanding of and commitment to Child andamp; Adolescent Psychiatry education. The Program Director will ensure that Fellows are properly supervised in carrying out their patient care responsibilities and develop and maintain an effective curriculum that complies with all elements of the Next Accreditation System including ACGME core competencies, Milestones and Clinical Learning Environment Reviews. The Director will guide strategic planning for the ongoing growth and development of the Fellowship program.

The two-year subspecialty Child andamp; Adolescent Psychiatry training program is located primarily at Maine Medical Center for outpatient and consultative services, and at Spring Harbor Hospital, a 100-bed psychiatric hospital of which 42 beds are dedicated to child and adolescent programs for adolescents, children, and those with Autism Spectrum and other developmental disorders. There is full access to a broad array of training resources including the juvenile justice system, school-based mental health treatments, innovative collaborative care models of mental health services in primary care, and state-wide community mental health services.

We are a growing program with 10 Child andamp; Adolescent psychiatrists directly affiliated with Maine Medical Center and Spring Harbor Hospital, psychologists, licensed social workers and adjunct community faculty. The Cardiac Surgery Program at Maine Medical Center is a fifty year old, well-established program with an annual volume of 1,100 cases. NEUROHOSPITALIST

Maine Medical Partners Neurology has an immediate full-time opening for a board certified/eligible Neurologist to practice primarily inpatient general neurology. Fellowship training/special interest in vascular neurology or neuro-ICU would be welcome but is not required.

Primary inpatient responsibilities are at Maine Medical Center (MMC) the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center and the major neurological and neurosurgical referral center for Maine and Eastern New Hampshire. MMC has 637 licensed beds and admits roughly one thousand patients per year with stroke, both ischemic and hemorrhagic, with this volume likely to increase over time. MMC has a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School.

The inpatient neurohospitalist program will cover all general and vascular neurology consultations in the hospital. Neurohospitalist coverage will involve approximately fourteen 12 hour shifts per month. The neurohospitalist is assisted by 12 hours of nurse practitioner coverage daily. In addition, the position entails coverage of the Telestroke network, of which there are currently three hospitals engaged. The position also involves supervision of a NP-run stroke follow up clinic 1-2 days per month.

We are currently a Primary Stroke Center, and are in the process of building towards Comprehensive Stroke Center status. Our staff presently contains two certified Vascular Neurologists, as well as three endovascular specialists from the Neurosurgery and Radiology departments who provide 24/7 coverage for interventional stroke therapy, and the radiology department has four fulltime diagnostic neuroradiologists.

The Neurology Division consists of 17 physicians, including 4 Pediatric Neurologists, 7 nurse practitioners, and an on-site MRI and neurodiagnostic lab. The Neurology group is the premiere site for neurology care in Maine since 1988, and one of the largest practices in New England. The practice works closely with our Neuroscience Institute to further develop Neuroscience Centers of Excellence in supporting initiatives of our stroke, epilepsy and MS programs. Responsibilities include education of medical students and internal medicine and psychiatry residents. This position is responsible for ensuring 340B Program compliance in MMC's 340B Discount Drug Program. A major component of the role will be to monitor compliance through daily and scheduled audits and review of replenishment medication orders. Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute is seeking an experienced Surgical Oncology nurse to fill the Thoracic Navigator position. This position is a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary team that coordinates care of the newly diagnosed cancer patient through diagnosis, treatment and on to surveillance. The ideal candidate will have 5 years' experience working in a surgical outpatient clinic, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to work independently. Experience in thoracic cancer is a plus. Minimum of a BSN required. Oncology Certification is preferred.

Summary of Position Description

The Oncology Nurse Navigator will guide patients through the care continuum, establishing contact with recurrent and newly diagnosed cancer patients and/or family member, or caregiver. The Patient Navigator will understand the clinical pathways established by the MMC Oncology Program and will direct the patients to health care services within the organization, at outside facilities, and within the community for timely diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. The Patient Navigator will actively identify and address barriers to care that might keep the patient from receiving timely and appropriate treatment for their cancer diagnosis. The Patient Navigator will connect patients with resources, health care and support services in their communities and assist the patient and oncology physicians in the transition from active treatment to survivorship. The Patient Navigator will work closely with the MMC Oncology Program and community based service providers (i.e. ACS, Cancer Community Center, MeHealth LRC) to identify and address community needs for cancer screening services and education regarding cancer prevention and early detection. The Patient Navigator will be responsible for ongoing evaluation and quality improvement of the Navigator Program and with support from the Oncology program and provide supporting data for quality initiatives.

DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL ONCOLOGY

Maine Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Oncologist to provide leadership to its statewide surgical oncology program as Director of Surgical Oncology at Maine Medical Center and for MaineHealth, including general surgical oncology (liver, pancreas, endocrine, melanoma, GI, soft tissue) and breast surgery. In this role, the Director will work directly with surgical oncologists and indirectly with related oncologic surgeons (breast, urologic, thoracic, otolaryngology, colorectal, Gynecologic, Neuro) concerning clinical, academic and administrative activities. This individual will also serve as the surgical oncology leader of the oncology service line, reporting directly to the Physician Leader of Oncology. The Director will also serve as the liaison between Maine Medical Center and the MaineHealth system as it relates to the provision of integrated, patient-centered system level oncology services.

The Director is responsible for establishing the vision and strategic direction for surgical oncology services at MMC, as well as developing, implementing and overseeing the standardization and improvement of high quality, value-based surgical oncology care and contributing to a robust clinical translational research program. In addition to significant clinical experience (5 to 10 years), we are seeking an individual with a track record of successful leadership in a progressive cancer center environment and experience in cancer clinical trials and research would be particularly valuable.

This position consists of five 8-hour shifts. The department shifts vary between 8 am-4:30 pm and 9am-5:30 pm.
