Sometimes, saving the world means answering a noble call. And sometimes, it means piling a group of eccentric lemur musicians into a rusty taxi-brousse, grabbing a frying pan to slap some villains, and trying to outsmart an evil witch through a very questionable plan. That second option is Kalanoro.

At the latest ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, we revealed our first game, Kalanoro, a joyful single-player action-adventure game coming to Xbox Series X|S in Summer 2026. We are Red Raketa Studio, a new game developer based in Madagascar, and our game takes players to Lemuria, a fictional island world inspired by Malagasy folklore, culture, and artistic energy.

Lemuria used to be a paradise. Then the evil witch Raneny showed up. Now the island lives under her rule, and she has decided to host a giant concert for her own glory. To stop her, Kalakely — a young Kalanoro and a very slightly unwilling hero — is sent on a mission to rescue legendary lemur musicians, grow a following, and get close enough to crash Raneny’s big finale.

That is, objectively, a terrible plan. Which is exactly why it might work.

Saving the World, One Gig (and Punch) at a Time

For all its musical mischief, Kalanoro is at its heart a single-player action-adventure game about momentum.

Head into a region, rescue musicians or recover their instruments, gather resources to feed your new friends and keep them happy on your tour bus, grow your popularity, unlock new levels, and eventually face the local boss to move on. Each activity feeds into the next and keeps you moving forward on your quest.

You are always pushing toward the next stop, the next challenge, and the next wonderfully bad idea.

Tiny Hero, Big Trouble

You are Kalakely, a young Kalanoro from Malagasy folklore. But what is a Kalanoro, you may ask? First, let me tell you that you’ve probably been saying it wrong. I know it’s written Kalanoro, but it’s pronounced more like “kalanour” (ka-la-Noor). Now that that’s cleared up, the simplest way to describe a Kalanoro is as a small furry creature — something like a fluffy leprechaun — said to bring good luck in Malagasy legends.

Given her small nature, Kalakely is fast and agile, and that shapes the whole feel of the game. Platforming sections send you through lively biomes, industrial traps, and hazardous machinery, with the camera shifting mainly between top-down exploration and side-scrolling sequences for more focused challenges.

Combat follows the same spirit. It is quick, colorful, and intentionally a bit scrappy. Kalakely can fight with her fists, but she is much better when she grabs whatever the world gives her — slippers, frying pans, flip-flops, even road signs and hammers. But beware: those makeshift weapons won’t last long, which keeps fights reactive and a little messy in the best way.

Then there are her hair-based powers, which give Kalakely her very own identity. Hairpoon pulls her toward enemies and stuns them. Static Locks sends an electric burst through them. Chaos Wig blinds foes and makes them turn on each other. Those same abilities also help with traversal, whether that means breaking obstacles or dealing with hazards in Raneny’s machinery.

A Roadtrip with a Home Base

Between action levels, the taxi-brousse acts as your moving home base. From there, you travel between destinations, keep everyone happy, cook meals, print posters, and prepare for the next stop. It is a light management layer by design, to give you a bit of chill time before your next level.

That balance is really what defines the game for us. We wanted Kalanoro to be warm, funny, and sometimes a little chaotic. And of course, we tried to add some playful humor because we couldn’t resist.

Inspired by Malagasy Folklore

Kalanoro is a handcrafted indie adventure made with love and coffee. The world of Lemuria is shaped by Malagasy folklore and artistic heritage, filtered through a playful action-adventure lens. That inspiration matters a lot to us at Red Raketa Studio. We are based in Madagascar, and we wanted to build Kalanoro with a perspective that feels personal, sincere, and full of affection for our culture.

Kalanoro comes to Xbox Series X|S in Summer 2026 and is published by our dear friends at New Tales. We can’t wait for players to meet Kalakely, hit the road across Lemuria, and discover a game made with a lot of love, coffee, laughter, and at least one frying pan.

As one of the Xbox One’s headline launch window games in November 2013, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag became synonymous with the console’s release. Many of you might have fond memories of picking up the two together, booting up the console for the first time, and stepping into the sun-drenched Caribbean rendered in higher definition than ever before, the lazy holiday period spread out in front of you. Bliss.

At Ubisoft, we wanted to capture the essence of that experience and recreate it for the current generation of hardware. This is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, an enhanced, faithful remake of the original game built from the ground up in the latest version of the Anvil engine. We’re thrilled to share some of the game’s most important new features for those of you who journeyed alongside Captain Edward Kenway back in 2013 – as well as those excited to jump into Black Flag’s world for the very first time.

New Tech Means New Detail

Rendered in the Anvil Engine, Black Flag Resynced features ray tracing, Dolby Atmos and more, which means, among other things, that the world will feel and look more lived-in and vibrant.

The Anvil Atmos system allowed the developers at Ubisoft Singapore to create a dynamic weather system, which means you’ll experience winds and waves, violent storms and serene sun as you journey across the Caribbean Sea. Plus, loading screens are gone.

Quality of Life Improvements on Ground Level and At Sea

Everything has been designed to make Edward’s movements on ground level more fluid and snappier. There are a lot of improvements in this area which we’ll outline more thoroughly in the future, but we’re delighted to give you some highlights:

• Combat has been reworked to focus on visceral takedowns and new parrying mechanics, as well as quick-fire rope dart and pistol moves.
• Edward can now crouch any time, affecting enemy visibility at medium to long range.
• Tailing missions have changed. If you get spotted during a tailing mission in Assassin’s Creed Resynced, you’ll still be able to complete the mission, whereas previously you’d be desynchronized.
• Observe mode allows Edward to observe his environment and find his quest objectives, clues, and tag enemies.
• Ziplines have been scattered throughout the city, allowing Edward to traverse from high up to ground level quickly.

Ubisoft Singapore has fully revamped naval combat and exploration in Assassin’s Creed Resynced. Highlights include:

• A host of secondary weapons have been added to Edward’s ship, the Jackdaw.
• Enemy ships and factions have alliances and enemies which will affect their behaviour and loadouts.
• Bring along a pet to join you as you sail.
• Recruit three officers – play through their three unique side quests to assign them to your crew. Each will bring a new gameplay feature to naval combat.
• New shanties – enjoy 10 brand new songs alongside all the others you remember.

New Missions

While we won’t spoil anything, we’re excited to share that additional missions and new scenes have been added to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, featuring performances from original Edward voice actor Matt Ryan.

Now, before you meet up with Celadon and head into the arena, we have some tips to share with you to help make you the best teammate, brawler, and pottery sculptor you can be!

Just remember: every pot has strengths and weaknesses! The only way to find the best pot is to try a bunch out and find the pots that suit you. So, time to get to crafting…

Throwing

Shape Matters!

As you start to get your virtual hands dirty, you’ll find that as you adjust the shape of your pot, a variety of factors start to automatically change for you as well, like Health, Capacity, and your Special Ability. This size also has an effect on your overall mobility in the arena, impacting which secret entrances you can access and how fast (or slow) you move.

Big Little, Little Big

A big (or little) thing to consider is how your health and capacity are inverse of each other – that is, the smaller you are, the more health you have to take hits in the arena, but the bigger you get, the more water you can carry to lead your team to Quench victory. Keep that in mind as you’re settling on sculpting the ideal shape and the role you want to play.

Right Down the Middle

When shaping your pot, be sure to use the Cross Section tool to get an inside look at your creation, cut right down the middle. This will help you fine tune those hard-to-see-angles.

Top It Off

Just like you should wear a hat when going outside, you should always have a nice stylish topper to compliment your pot. Keep in mind during the shaping process that the size of your pot’s mouth influences the size of your topper.

When you’re glazing, make sure you use the rotation feature to help with your layering of glazes and achieve the look that you’re going for. This can help provide some unique pot patterns.

Turn Around

The ruler and the shaper, once unlocked, can give you even more customization features to help with specific angles on your pots. You can also rotate these tools to give you even more options.

Embiggen

Just how big of a butt sticker do you want to put on your pot? With the resizing feature, you can make stickers as big or as small as you’d like to fit with your pot’s theme.

Have No Fear!

Even if you mess up the creation of your pot, you can always try again. And the more you play with the creation tools, the more you’ll get the hang of it. Practice makes pretty good!

Quench

Quench is the primary core game mode that will be available at launch for Kiln. The objective here is for two teams to square off, protecting their kiln, all while dousing the other team’s kiln. Through teamwork, strategy, and a little bit of luck, you can come out on top in this unique and fun game mode.

Now when it comes to combat, there are a lot of ways to approach it. Much like pot creation, there is no one way to play. Find the niche that fits your playstyle and your time in Quench will be successful! Here’s some starting tips to consider as you jump into battle!

You’re Leaking!

You drop water when you get hit. And when you roll. And when you get smashed. And when you’re hitting other players. Water is a precious resource, so keep this in mind as you’re shepherding your water to the enemy Kiln! Try your best to retain as much as you can as you move through the arena. Oh, and don’t forget: even if the enemy manages to smash you in front of their Kiln, it still counts towards dousing it.

Drink It Up!

The first thing you should do when dropped into an area is to locate the water sources – these are found in the large and small blue amphora and sometimes through grates in the ground. You can also drink up the water spilt from the broken clay pieces of your enemies — let them do the hard work for you!

Small But Mighty

Don’t forget to see what nooks and crannies you can fit small pots into! For example, in Dionysus’ Boogie Lounge, you can roll into a side room by the enemy’s Kiln to grab some water and pull off a sneak attack!

A Balanced Attack

When heading into battle, make note of your team’s composition. For example, you may want to jump into one of your smaller pottery creations if it seems like you have enough heavies on your side. Battles can be won or lost by the volume of water, so finding that balance between dousing and attacking is key to victory.

Playing Goalie

If it looks like your Kiln is getting close to being doused, it may be time to shift your attention to defense to give your offense enough time to counter-attack. Depending on the map, you may have a few tools at your disposal, like the sponge walls that take just a drop of water to block off a passageway for a few precious seconds. That might be all the time you need to help turn the tide of battle.

And that’s it! Now you’re a professional Kiln player. You will destroy all your enemies with ease!

Sometimes You Have to Take a Step Backin Order to Move Forward

Rumbral is a dark 2.5D puzzle-platformer where you shift between two timelines, the present and a restored version of the past, by stepping into mysterious magenta puddles. By altering the past, you reshape the present, uncover new paths, and solve environmental puzzles in a desolate, fragmented world.

Scattered throughout this world are nine hidden collectibles. While some can be found along the main path, most reward curiosity and exploration beyond the obvious. Each one unlocks an achievement, with an additional reward granted for finding them all.

These collectibles are fully integrated into the environment as 3D objects rather than traditional UI markers, encouraging you to rely on observation. Subtle visual cues, such as traces of the magenta substance and faint shimmering particles, help them stand out without breaking immersion.

Sound also plays a key role in their discovery. Each collectible emits a unique audio cue when you’re nearby, gradually increasing in intensity as the distance closes. This system is first introduced through the “Splintered Bone,” allowing you to learn and recognize the signal for future exploration.

Many of these collectibles are hidden in optional areas, spaces that are not required to complete the game. This makes exploration essential. Paths that seem blocked in the present may open in the past, and vice versa, rewarding players who experiment with both timelines. In this sense, progression is not always about moving forward, but about rethinking direction; sometimes, taking a step back is the only way to advance.

Beyond their gameplay function, the collectibles also play a significant narrative role. Rather than offering purely descriptive text, many present fragments of the protagonist’s thoughts. These pieces add a more introspective, narrative layer to a game primarily focused on platforming and puzzle-solving.

Through them, you gain insight into Sam’s perspective. He does not fully understand the situation he is facing, and his thoughts mirror the uncertainty and unease experienced by the player. The presence of the magenta puddles suggests a disruption of space and time, and these fragments hint at a deeper connection between this phenomenon and Sam’s own existence, his fate, and the purpose of his journey.

Their forms reinforce this narrative dimension. The collectibles are not random objects, but representations of things that once belonged to the world: remnants of human life, traces of animal presence, and fragments of a lost civilization. This civilization appears to have been experimenting with the magenta substance, leaving behind evidence of its actions and consequences.

One of the collectibles reads:

“I don’t think picking this up was a good idea. The intense color it emits almost seems like it will burn me, and its ragged edges look so sharp and hardened. At the same time, it almost looks on the brink of turning to liquid in an instant. It resembles those strange puddles I have come across before. Will it have the same ominous property of showing me visions of a world that once was? Or maybe will be? I don’t know if this is just a rock, or another warning for me to not continue on my journey.”

Once collected, these fragments place you directly inside Sam’s thoughts, turning discovery into something more personal than simple progression. Rather than observing the story from a distance, you experience it from within, sharing his doubts, fears and confusion. In doing so, the narrative is not simply uncovered, but felt, allowing the world of Rumbral to be reconstructed from a perspective that is immediate, intimate, and deeply human. Hello! I’m one of the lead developers of Rewilders: The Lost Spring. Some of you may be familiar with our previous game, Endling — Extinction is Forever. Today we wish to share with you more about the story in Rewilders: The Lost Spring and Abi’s precious Hântu. This is the heart of our game so let’s learn together some more. Are you ready to see the never-before-seen trailer?

As you saw in the trailer, our game is rooted in the core idea of transforming the world. Rewilders: The Lost Spring is an action roguelite that invites you to openly explore an original world where ecological devastation has taken hold of the landscape and Abi’s family, our protagonist. By collecting creatures known as Hântu, as well as resources from the plagued area she once called home, she must build skills,  craft upgrades, and battle the evil to save her homelands and restore her family to their rightful place, together and thriving.

The core gameplay consists of Abi returning to the surface from her airship to fight off the recurring resurgence of enemies and environmental harm. As she progresses in any direction she wishes, she will unlock areas to drop into, and through story progression like Metroidvanias, gain new traversal abilities that make those commutes shorter, even more interesting when she discovers secrets along the way. Returning to the airship is optional for replenishment, requipping, and reworking Hântu selections, yet it becomes inevitable if she falls in battle. Thankfully, she has a friend to help bring her back and prepare her for the next run.

What is a Hântu? How do you pronounce it?

It’s pronounced like a certain smuggler from a galaxy far, far away with a furry companion, plus the number two: Han (Solo), two, almost like “one, two”, actually!

These Hântu are the creatures that Abi will meet and recruit to her cause while venturing into the five different biomes within her home. They are unique in their appearance, like flying and frog-like Keto, and pointy yet cuddly Hornsby, and in their abilities, even how they interact with each other. Every Hântu has an active and passive benefit when collected and selected in a run by Abi, that she can then level-up, further buff them with upgrades, and harmonize the airship’s ability to support the team.

The Hântu can be combined in ways that prioritize certain skills or protections, allowing you to choose multiple facets when approaching a specific biome, boss, or objective. Which Hântu she discovers is randomized every run, though they tend to stay in their preferred biomes. Abi can also grow her roster as she elevates her abilities.

The Heart of a Hântu

These courageous creatures are part of the ecosystems of Abi’s world, each playing an important part in their surroundings, much like our own Earth and the animals, insects, etc. that inhabit it. Those who played Endling — Extinction is Forever know that we care deeply about our planet, so it may not surprise you that we took inspiration from nature with this game as well. Of course, this is a fictional world so we had much fun combining appearances, behaviours, and abilities.

These allies may seem adorable, but looks can be deceiving! Like the honey badger in the real world, it may seem fuzzy and friendly, but we know it’s one of the most capable animals when threatened against a variety of predators or competitors.

Similarly, our Hântu have striking power, such as rooting a Moogler in place to stop it cold, or throwing a poison trap that detonates for severe AOE damage, that can lock down dangerous enemies and clear clustered threats fast. Strategy comes into effect as you discover the distinct biomes, the enemies and their strengths/weaknesses, plus the many options to maximize Hântu like buffs or compliment their own combat playstyles.

The Hântu are grateful to have Abi rescue them, and she’s eager to restore their home. Together, they share a dream of restoring the world along with Abi’s family, just as the Hântu want to be reunited with each other! There are so many types to introduce players to. Our playtesters have met six of them so far, but we can share that the current plan is to have all 16 available in time for launch. Ultimately, it will take the power of friendship and caring to get to our goals, whether it’s Abi and the Hântu saving their homes and families, or a gaming community coming together to bring a new indie roguelite with exploration, creature collecting, emotional story and a little Metroidvania mixed in, to life.

Since its launch, Diablo IV’s Skill Tree system has done its job. Pick a skill and choose an upgrade to get a little stronger. It worked just fine, but for seasoned adventurers, it often had a tendency to feel like more of the same sap on the same branch. With Lord of Hatred arriving next week, we wanted to ensure that the skill tree has evolved to support more player choice, and is more user-friendly than ever.

The new Skill Tree has nurtured the previous “skill twig” into a fully branching system built around choice, experimentation, and playstyle expression—where the upgrades you choose change the way you play. The difference is clearest when you look at it side by side.

At a glance, the old system trimmed skills down to tidy, predictable paths. In most cases, you were looking at a short limb with a couple of leaves and a clear best choice at the end. With the new system, Skills have many more options for growth

Every skill has been developed and expanded, offering more nodes and branching paths than before. Where abilities once had just a few follow-up options, now they unfold with layered decisions that build on one another. Instead of a straight trunk with a simple fork, you’re navigating a canopy of choices to customize Skills to suit your needs. Zoom in, and the depth becomes immediately clear.

More importantly, these branches don’t just make skills stronger—they make them different.

A good example is the Barbarian’s Rend. Previously, Rend was a straightforward, close‑range attack that applied bleed damage. Solid, reliable, and firmly rooted in one playstyle.

In the new system, that same skill can grow in entirely new directions. Depending on the nodes you choose, Rend can deal Fire damage, send waves rippling across the battlefield, or reach enemies well beyond melee range.

Same trunk, completely different branches—with entirely new gameplay fantasies hanging from them. As a result, builds feel more personal than ever. You’re no longer just playing “Furious Rend” or “Bloodsworn Rend,” you’re playing your version of it—shaped by the paths you chose and supported by complementary decisions elsewhere in your loadout. You may start at the same root as someone else, but you likely won’t end up in the same place.

That transformation is intentional. The team wanted upgrades to feel immediately tangible, not buried in fine print. When you invest in a node and use the skill, the change should be obvious right away—you can see it, feel it, and start playing around with it. And the rework applies to every class in Diablo IV, ensuring you can explore these new branching options regardless of your chosen hero.

A groundbreaking concept

At DigixArt, we’re always looking for new, innovative, and quirky ways to tell non-linear stories, in our “choices matter” narrative games.

Our previous game, Road 96, was a procedural road trip. Our new game, Tides of Tomorrow, is a post-apocalyptic, plasticpunk adventure where other players’ choices directly influence your story.

We call this new gameplay feature “Story‑Link.” Basically, you follow the Story-Link of someone who played before you (a friend, a streamer, or a stranger – maybe one of us devs here at DigixArt). Their decisions have left marks on the game-world and you’ll have to deal with the consequences of their choices. Then, as you play, your own decisions will shape the story for future players.

The core theme of the game is: “What will you leave behind?” We want players to reflect on how their actions affect those who come after them, which ties into the broader question of “What world do we leave behind for future generations?”

While many players are curious and excited about this concept, we’ve also heard some people say, “That’s nice and all, but do my choices still matter to my story?” –  and boy, yes, they do.

A collaborative journey

Balancing how much previous players’ choices should impact your experience versus how much control you have over your own story was one of the toughest challenges during development. We didn’t want players to feel robbed of their own adventure.

We struck that balance inside Story-Link, ensuring previous players’ actions have consequences on a level‑by‑level basis. Someone else explored each island before you. Through their actions, they changed the “narrative state” of what’s happening “right now” in that place. Maybe they made some friends, maybe they made some enemies, maybe they helped someone, maybe they caused trouble…

In the end, however; you still go through your own overarching story. The Story‑Link strongly shapes your journey, but you remain in control of your destination.

What’s fascinating about this feature is that, depending on the version of each level you experience, you can end up with very different perspectives on characters and events. A character might become one of your trusted allies, while that same character is perceived as a villain by other players. This is especially true for our more “grey” characters, like Nyx or Efod.

Shaping your own fate

Of course, the narrative involves many “big moral choices.” We diabolically designed them so that each one comes with a real dilemma – there’s never a single “right” answer. These decisions have a strong influence on the next part of your story, and some of them can also have major consequences for future players.

For example, deciding to steal a key artifact from the Mystic means it won’t be there anymore for the next players – and they’ll have to deal with the fallout of its disappearance.

On top of that, many smaller decisions ripple through the experience and come back in the final acts of the game. Even things that don’t feel “narrative,” like resource management, matter. One of the main themes of the story is resource scarcity during a time of crisis. Choosing whether to share medicine with an NPC or keep it for yourself can have consequences later on.

The game also features a trait system. These are personality traits like Survivalist, Cooperative, or Troublemaker, which evolve based on your actions and choices. This gives long‑term weight to nearly every decision – even the smallest ones. These traits unlock late‑game opportunities, steer you toward different endings, and help you better understand the personality of the players you’re following.

I don’t want to spoil too much, but the final act of the game is where everything comes together. All the choices you’ve made along the way take on extra importance – determining who’s still alive, which communities stand with you, and ultimately the kind of solution you’ll use to save the planet… or doom it forever. What will you be willing to sacrifice?

Years ago, I had this idea. I wanted to make a game where players were encouraged to be creative. A game where you could mold your own little characters and then have those characters fight your friends’ little characters. A game where creation and creativity were approachable for anybody. This was the core idea around what we now call Kiln!

You could think of it as a pottery party. You team up with your friends, make pots together, share them, and then go into battle. We ended up making the world’s first online multiplayer pottery party brawler!

Kiln couldn’t have been possible without the Double Fine Insiders. You’ve really helped us refine and hone this idea and make the experience what it is today.
