This week I have been playing with Rimmel’s Renew Sheer & Shine Lipsticks. They are essentially a gloss in a stick! They remind of a very expensive Dior Addict Shine lippie I bought a few years back, but at a much better price point. Shades 200 Glow-rious Pink 300 Pink Rules 400 Good Mauve 600 Spin All Spring The shades are quite vibrant but translusent. They leave quite a wet look. I tried these a few different ways and by far the best result on me was to apply my foundation and use what was left on the beauty blender to bump a touch of it onto the outskirts of my lips. My own lips affected the colour in a way I wasn’t keen on so this way you get a truer colour. I love a cream lipstick, I’ve never been keen on the sheer kind but these are quite nice, more pigmented that sheer shades usually are. If you’re after juicy looking lips in a finish that is light and moisturising then these fellas might be for you. If not then maybe have a look at their Hyper Saturated range. Something I do like is that the lipsticks have SPF20 […]

I am always like a child when new beauty products arrive at my door. The courier company probably think that I am the happiest woman in the world! Well last week the cutest little box arrived from Burt’s Bees. Look at the little suitcase! I am already thinking about what I can store in there when the products are used up (I’m thinking nail care products!). I’ve always been a fan of Burt’s Bees lip balm and while I don’t mind the honey scent I also don’t love it. I have just realised that there are a mountain of other flavours that I haven’t tried. I actually didn’t even know that they existed. Well now. Coconut & Pear? Need. This box came with a sample of their lip balm in Refreshing, a pink grapefruit version with Vitamin C. It’s quite uplifting. I already prefer it to the original. At €3.95 each I think I may just be able to stretch to buy the Hydrating version too. I leave a lipbalm everywhere from my car to my weekend bag. The Summer Travel Kits, Tips and Toes €17.95 (which I received) and the Essential Burt’s Bees Kit are great. They are also very […]

I’m going to skirt over my absence and hope you forgive me! I had to have a little beauty rave. I’m beach crazy. Beach hair, beach skin, beach bags, sandals, swinmwear… you get the gist. If there is a scent of the sea incorporated into a fragrance, hair or skin product it is inclined to end up in my shopping basket. It just cheers me up, makes me happy and reminds me of relaxing times. I hated Secondary school and on bad Winter days I used to smear myself in Hawaiin Tropic… hey, whatever gets you through right! If you have read my blog or watched my videos from way back for any amount of time you probably are aware that I am a Bobbi Brown fan. I love their makeup but I have never tried their skin care or fragrances. Now their beach favourites have my attention. I am excited! Mainly because they smell amazing, well from what I have tried so far. Fans of Nuxe will likely love these, they smell different but are in the same ball park. The range consists of a Hand Wash, Hand & Body Lotion, Shower Gel, Body Scrub, Body Oil and a […]

Apologies for my absence girls but I’m back in action finally! And I felt a little products rant was well over-due. I am happy to report that I’ve spent the past 4 weeks wearing nothing but Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. I am in love with the polishes I have from the Voyager Collection. I have had quite a few people ask where I had my gel manicure done so I’m hoping this means that it looks well. Everyone seems surprised that it was shop bought. I won’t beat around the bush. This stuff is great. Far better than the basic Sally Hansen polishes. They last so much longer. Application Of the three I have tried they were a dream to apply. You need two coats, which dry evenly in good time, followed by two coats of the volume gel, which need a bit of time to set. The first time I applied I didn’t wait long enough for the volume coat to cure and dinted one! Raging. Since that day I only apply when I have time to kill, generally when I’m catching up on Netflix. The magic is in the gel top coat. I’ve tried a few gel coats from different brands, […]

Gwen is synonymous with cool. In my world Gwen is also synonymous with teenage heartbreak, oh yes I was that teenager you heard crying her eyes out to Don’t Speak after a boy I liked for 3 whole days kissed someone called Vicky at the local disco (*rolls on the floor laughing at that memory). Thankfully my taste in boys improved somewhat albeit after a few disasters ha, but I remained a Gwen fan. I mean she sampled Maria from The Sound of Music, the woman just ticks all my boxes. Anyway back to the BEAUTEOUS palette… THE PACKAGING Yes. I would leave it at that but I would imagine you are looking for more from me. This is my favourite UD palette packaging so far; black and white graphic prints with gold accents. It’s elegant and cool at the same time. The lid is dimensional rather that a print, I don’t know that appeals to me but there you have it. Attention to detail. The box also doesn’t rattle around like some of the precious ones. Gwen also names the shades; Anaheim – where Gwen grew up, 1987 – the year No Doubt formed and Bathwater -after one of […]
