Calico Ghost Town & Needles

Second day of our vacation, we leave Los Angeles and travel to Needles. It is a long drive and we planned to visit Calico Ghost Town before we stop at needles for overnight and continue our journey to Grand Canyon for the next day. But before we leave Los Angeles we want to see the HOLLYWOOD sign of course. We asked the person at the hotel where we can see the sign and he told us to go to Griffith Park Observatory. Set our GPS to that place. it up in the hill and passed so many beautiful houses on the way to the hills.

After half and hour there, we leave the place and off to find Calico Ghost Town.

Today is Hakim's 8th Birthday. It come so fast without realize it. We celebrated his Birthday yesterday. He was so happy to get so many gifts from his aunties and cousins. Thank you to everyone who came yesterday and share the fun.

Universal Studio Hollywood

As what we planned. The 1st day of our holiday, destination Universal Studio.

The park open at 9:00AM, so we were there earlier to avoid long queuing at the entrance. When we were there, it is already busy with people who waiting for the ticket counter to be open. We are lucky because we already bought our ticket online. For ticket price you can find it here.

Our Comment from the above rides: Unforgettable experience. All in 3D but the feeling is like riding the real roller coaster. Studio Tour is amazing, they have the largest 3D show for King Kong 360. So if you have a chance to go to Universal Studio don't miss the fun. Especially the King Kong. We felt that we were surrounded by the Dinosours..haha. They also show us how is the stunt movies made. They show us a few scene that used in movie making.

After finished exploring the studio we have our lunch. Fries, Fried Chicken and Salad.

The Arrival Day..

Continuous from my previous post..

After 12 hours and 40 minutes in the plane, we finally landed at Los Angeles International Airport at 6.10PM on 30th May 2012, Wow 1 day earlier. When we arrived, we need to get our rental car. We follow the Rental car company's bus where he brought us to the place where we have to pick up our car.

Again waiting for so long, luckily the counter for online reservation was open. It took almost one hour the person at the counter discussed with my husband about the car. OMG..Once my husband got our car, we rush to find our hotel. But no worries, with our helper TOMTOM, we did find our hotel very easy.

After we arrive at the hotel, we have to find some food. so we saw a pizzeria near by our hotel and went there for take away of Vegetarian Pizza.

We could not sleep very well that night, All of us woke up at 4:00am in the morning and watched TV beside enjoying our Lays chips.

Yes..we just got back from our memorable holiday in California. We were really enjoyed. We visited so many places. I will tell you the story in my post. But of course, not sure how long it takes to write a post. It seem like Facebook is more easier to post a status then blogging.

Well I know some of you might looking for a great places for holiday, you might be looking at my photos of vacation and maybe you will get the idea of you next holiday destination..right?

Our story start last year in 2011, when my husband suddenly proposed the next holiday in Los Angeles. mmm..since he had said that, I knew that he will doing it. Suddenly one day he called me and he said,"I've bought a ticket.." and I was "HAH"..to where? he replied "LA"..and I was speechless at that time..whether I am happy, sad, I couldn't tell. But at that time I just follow his decision. "Ok, I replied and said good.

Ticket has been bought from Kota Kinabalu - Shenzhen - Beijing - Los Angeles. See how many stop we have. Kota Kinabalu to Shenzhen is about 2 and a half hours, Shenzhen to beijing is about 3 hours, Beijing to Los Angeles is about 12 hours and 15 minutes. Wow! how did I remember all the distance..hahaha..not sure if its right but I think it is almost the correct answer. hehe.. But the good things about our flight is we have to stay overnight in Beijing because our flight to LA was re-schedule to the next day and at night. So that mean we have the whole day in Beijing and we have planned something. A Private tour to :Tianamen Square, Forbidden city and the Great wall of China..Yes another new place we can see. Ok..let start our journey from Shen Zhen.. I've write a lot, let just my photo tell you the story..

Sabah Indoor Climbing Centre

Visited this place a few week ago and we really have a great fun.

This was our first time trying to do the wall climbing. My kids, not bad for the beginner.

At first my boy was a bit scared but then at last he did it till the top. My little princess was quit adventurer as well but she did not tried a lot. She is more interested to play with her friends than trying to reach the top.

What can I say.. I've been so lazy to post a blog recently since I got my iphone 4S.

mmm..maybe because too many to explore and game that this gadget provided. But today, I am trying to finished the story that I have started long time ago. But before I start I would like to introduce new nephew of mine.

Here he is..

Ok..let start with my story of 3D2N Mulu.
The 2nd day of our trip to Mulu, after breakfast we were departed from our resort with a motorize longboat going up river against the many rapids, poling in the crystal clear water of Melinau river to visit Wind Cave, Clearwater Cave with picnic lunch at Clearwater spring. It took about 2 hours ride while in the middle of the trip we stop by at the local village which selling souvenir for tourist.

That was our last day in Mulu.

The next day we went to the airport, we could not get the flight back to Kota Kinabalu. They said that we only can fly to Miri, which shocked us. But we were really lucky that day, we manage to get into the same flight back to Kota Kinabalu even though we have to sit far from each other.

Well that was my long story end.

3D/2N Mulu (1st day)

Continuous from our short trip to Sarawak last year. Overall, itenary of this trip is exactly what my husband selling at his website.

Day 01 : Meet on arrival at Mulu Airstrip by flight and transfer to Royal Mulu Resort. At 14:00hrs, depart for Lang Cave, Deer Cave, Bats Watching and return to the resort. At 19:00hrs, dinner at the resort, overnight.

Day 02 : Breakfast at the resort. At 08:30hrs, depart for Clearwater River to visit Wind Cave, Clearwater Cave, Penan Settlement with picnic lunch at Clearwater Spring and transfer to Royal Mulu Resort. At 19:00hrs, dinner at the resort, overnight.

Day 03 : Breakfast at the resort. Transfer to the Mulu Airstrip for your connecting flight.

Arrived at Mulu with MasWings, very comfortable airlines and the staff was friendly too. It took about 2 hours to fly from Kuching to Mulu.

It was raining when we went back. We could not see the group of bats flying out from the caves. Since it going to be dark soon, we decided to start walking. It took about 1 and a half hour walking back to the main office and we are quit slow with children. Luckily we have 2 strong man (my husband and Harry). They carried Hakim and Aishah on their shoulder.

Damai Beach Resort, Kuching

After a few days staying at the city, finally we moved to Damai Beach Resort which a bit far from the city. 40 minutes drive from Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak and was a really nice place actually. As for my children they like swimming pool a lot, so as long as the hotel has swimming pool that is very good for them. It was a bit busy that time because of school Holiday. You can check all the facilities and activities at their website.

And my husband also want to try the challenge.

We have stayed there for 2 nights. The 1st night we were there, it a bit noisy because of the Chinese neighbor having a party till 2 o'clock in the morning. The room is not a sound proof room especially if you are staying at the Superior Poolside room. They were drunk, laughing and talking so loud and we really can hear it from our room. Very irritating ,we could not sleep at all.

The next day, we visited Sarawak Cultural Village. It was so close by the resort 15-20 minutes walking. For those who visiting the village, be sure to see the cultural performance at 11.30am everyday. You will enjoy it after walking around to see the houses.

Back to the hotel in the afternoon, have a light lunch and continue with swimming

Just to mention here that Damai Beach Resort has recently open new room which they call Baruk Room. Me and my husband have seen the room and it was really romantic place for honeymooners.

Breakfast at the hotel, at 9:00hrs, depart for Kuching City tour and visited the Museum.The tour took about half day. After City tour back to the Hotel, Swimming and rest.

At 17:00hrs, pick up at the hotel for 17:30hrs Sarawak River Cruise.

The River cruise took about 2 hours and it is a relaxing cruise to see Kuching city from the river.

They also provide light refreshment on board and a cultural dance performance for the guests.

Overall, our program itinerary was as below:

4/12/2011 (Sunday):

Meet on arrival at Kuching International Airport and transfer to Pullman Hotel, Kuching.

Since we arrive late, we did not have time to explore the near by places for our 1st night Kuching.

It was raining as well, so we just have our dinner at one of the Hotel Restaurant.

5/12/2011 (Monday):

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8:00hrs, departed for Semenggoh Orang Utan.

Info:

The Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is located about 22KM from Kuching. It is the only one of its kind in Sarawak. Set up in 19975, this 740 hectare of virgin forest is home to Orang utans, honey bears, hornbills, porcupines, storks, eagles, braking deer and monkeys. Most of this animal were rescued from captivity and are being rehabilitated here in their natural surroundings.

To get to the centre involves a 30 minutes drive by car from the city and 1.6KM walk (20 minutes) which snakes through lush tropical rainforest. This tour provides an opportunity of a lifetime to observe how the Orang Utans are being rehabilitated and trained to fend for themselves before being released into the wild. Visitors are allowed to study and observe the Orang utans at distance.

After half day tour, back to the hotel, free leisure at the Hotel.

Aishah and Silat

The competition was on 6th October, last Thursday.

Their school got 2nd place from 4 schools.Sharing a few photos of that day.

Later that day when we were waiting for the competition result. I was shocked when someone shouted and asking who's child was she is carrying. OMG, it Aishah. Her face was so pale, I took her from the lady and Aishah was crying, "mama,its pain" she said. I am scared, I can feel how she felt. Then the lady told me that she saw aishah fell with someone on her. She was not really sure how high they fell off. I was scared and all in my mind was going home. I don't know what to do at first, I called a few of my sisters and my husband. Told them about Aishah, they all advised me to go to the Hospital except for my husband.

All I am thinking was, I have to go to the Hospital as soon as possible, on the way to the hospital, she vomited and I am worried if she suddenly unconscious. I keep on calling her name and touch her face. She is trying to fight the pain, i can see it from her face. We reached Hospital and I carried her to the counter of Emergency Unit, my tears was start to fall from my eyes, i just cant bear the pain that my child felt. I am happy that we were at the right place. My husband came to see us. He tried to wake Aishah up but she wont woke up. She slept for a few hours at the Emergency room and vomited one more time. The doctor told me that they have to observe the child 24 hours after the fallen. X-ray was made and as well as CT scan to checked whether there is any sign of internal bleeding in her head. Luckily, everything was fine.

"Alhamdullillah" (Thanks God) for saving my little precious.

That was our longer day, woke up at 5am and home at 9:30pm, we were so tired after what happen that day.
