Fresh Tomato Pasta Recipe Directions:

Sauté the onions with a bit of olive oil in a large sauce pan on medium heat until translucent. Sauté the garlic next, until it softens.

Stir the tomatoes in, and then leave them to cook until they soften.

Stir in the basil, oregano, pepper and salt onto the tomatoes next, and leave the sauce on the heat at least another 10 minutes for the flavors to combine.

Cook the noodles by adding them to a pot of salted boiling water. If you are using brown rice or corn/maize pastas they cook a bit differently than wheat pastas. As the water hits the boil, add enough cool water to break the boil. Keep doing this until the pasta is cooked.

Assemble this simple, healthy meal by topping the pasta with tomato sauce, and garnish with fresh herbs.

Its main ingredient is basil. The original recipe has Genovese basil, a plant that has its origins in the tropical Asia.

The first pesto recipe is from the years 1800. The pesto recipe was inspired by ancient recipe of smashed sauces like "l'agliata" (ligurian version for classic sauce agliata) which was propagated in Liguria since the Renaissance age. Beside basil, the sauce has small quantities of crunched garlic, pine nuts, nuts, of course parmesan (or pecorino (hard ship cheese) as the local tradition says) and extra virgin olive oil.

Pesto pasta recipe

When you prepare pesto pasta is better to know that you can use all kind of pasta, either penne, linguini, fusili, tagliatelle or farfale and spaghetti.

The following ingredients are for four persons:

30 fresh basil blades

1 tablespoon of grated parmesan

½ tablespoon of pine nuts

1 tablespoon of grated pecorino

sea salt

2 garlic cloves

10 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil

How to make it:

In a mortar stamped the sea salt, the garlic and the basil leaves which were before cleaned with a wet sponge. After that, add the oil step by step. Pour also the parmesan and pecorino.

Meanwhile, boil the pasta in salted water. After it is boiled take out the pasta, sloop it very well. The pasta is spiced with the pesto sauce and has to be served warm.

The pesto sauce could be also prepared in a blender where you mix all the ingredients, but taking care after the preparation to put it into the freezer for two hours. This way the basil doesn't go black and keeps its green shiny color.

Going further:

You could prepare a bigger quantity of basil sauce and keep it in the fridge up to one week or in the freezer for a longer period of time.

Easy pasta recipes can help you make the most of the little that you already have on hand. As long as you have a box of pasta in the house, you are ready to get cooking.
With a little ingenuity you can pull a treasure trove of ingredients from your cabinet and refrigerator. Take an inventory of the dried spices and herbs in your cabinet. Check the produce bins for fresh veggies and mushrooms that you can use as flavorful additions. Also take out jars of green olives or artichoke hearts.
The best type of pasta for a recipe that incorporates all of the goodies that are on hand is usually a spiral shaped short pasta or even elbow macaroni. You can experiment with what you have, because the idea is to implement those items that are in the house already. Whichever your selection it should be boiled in a large pot of water until it reaches the desired tenderness, then drained and set aside.
Once your noodles are in the strainer you can being to start combining the flavors that you want to incorporate. A simple combination of melted butter and finely grated hard cheese such as parmesan can be super pleasing to the simple pallet. Because it is complemented by so many easy to attain flavors, it is an easy way to keep the meals coming without having to run off to the store.
Jars that have nearly run empty, or the last bits of dry salami do not have to go in the trash. A touch of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, or a simple vinaigrette salad dressing can be added to just about any diced mixture of remaining produce, cheese or other items. The stand alone tomato, the last of the mushrooms, green onions, green olives or hard salami can be chopped finely, drizzled with dressing and added to the cooled pasta for a quick, easy pasta salad.
For a nice cold day recipe, melt several tablespoons of real butter on the stove. Sprinkle an equal amount of flower over the melted butter and let it slowly brown. Whisk about one half cup of cold milk into this mixture and continue to whisk until it is smooth and begins to thicken. You can add salt, pepper and crushed garlic to taste. Then you can incorporate grated, cubed or shredded cheese into the mixture until it is melted and thorough combined with the sauce.
The greater of the variety of cheese that is used, the more unique the final flavor will be. By slow toasting the last piece or heal of the bread, you can create your own bread crumbs. Mix the cheese sauce with the pasta, top with bread crumbs and slow bake in a medium temperature oven for twenty minutes. You can garnish as you please and serve with cracked black pepper

Basil pasta recipe

Cooking With Basil - Tomato Basil Soup Recipe
When the days start getting shorter and the growing season is coming to an end, it's the perfect time to make this Tomato Basil Soup recipe. Enjoy the bounty of your harvest now and wow your friends and family with this wonderful soup. Add some yummy rolls and maybe a salad and your all set.

Before you start, be sure the herbs are clean and dry. One way to do this is to water them early in the morning and let them air dry until about mid morning. Harvesting herbs before the mid-day heat allows the plant to retain the essential oils which is what makes them taste so good. Another way to harvest your basil as suggested by Phyliss Shaudy in her book, Herbal Treasures, is to pick a warm breezy day and place two or three bowls of tepid water in the area you are going to work. Harvest the herbs and swish them in the bowls of water and shake off as much water as possible. Then, place the herbs between layers of white paper towels and allow them to air dry outside for 2 or 3 hours. Be sure to change the toweling once or twice. To speed up the process, de-stem their foliage and pat dry the leaves frequently.
Tomato Basil Soup Recipe

Ingredients

2 teaspoons olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

3 cups fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 (14.5-ounce) cans diced tomatoes, un-drained

2 cups fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced (I used sweet basil)

Basil or parsley leaves (optional for garnish)

Preparation

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic; cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Stir in the broth, salt, and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes. Stir in basil.

Place half of the soup in a blender; process until smooth. Pour pureed soup into a bowl, and repeat procedure with remaining soup. Garnish with basil or parsley leaves, if desired.

Grow Your Own Basil

Cooking with basil, especially if you grew it yourself, is wonderfully satisfying. There are so many recipes to try and over 150 varieties of basil worldwide. Pick your favorite to experiment with. A great place to find a wide variety of basil varieties to try in your own garden is online catalogs. You may want to try a variety called 'Genovese basil' for cooking pesto.

There are so many varieties of carbonara that it is hard to sort them out. Typically carbonara is made with pancetta or guanciale, egg yolk, and parmesan cheese mixed in spaghetti. Pancetta is a bacon that has been salt cured and spiced with nutmeg, pepper, fenel, dried ground hot peppers and garlic usually and dried for about three months. It is typically not smoked (I will show you how to make it in a later article). On the other hand, guanciale is a smoked bacon with pigs jowls mixed in. I lean toward pancetta and rarely use guanciale (can't get used to the taste). In the US, sometimes cream is used in the recipe, but this is not typical in Italy. I give some variations on carbonara, but the recipe below is my favorite. Oh, by the way, carbonara is Italian for charcoal and has led to the idea that it was a coal miners spaghetti (nonsense – no one probably knows the origins of carbonara).

A delicacy

I would like to think that my carbonara is more of a delicacy than a staple. It is a less traditional recipe than one would find in homes in Italy. But it is so creamy and delicious that my mouth waters just thinking about it. Try my recipe below and then move on to some of the variations I suggest to see what you prefer. It is a great dish for social gatherings.

Remove the pancetta with a slotted spoon to a plate covered with a paper towel to drain (dice or chop into fine pieces). Add the onions and sauté over medium high heat until tender (about 6 minutes).

Drain the pasta but reserve at least ½ cup of the liquid that you cooked the pasta in.

Meanwhile, add the pasta to the onions and stir while heating. Remove the pasta and onions and then pour the egg mixture over the pasta. Stir until the sauce is a wonderful creamy consistency and the eggs are no longer raw (less than 2 minutes). Return the mixture to a very low heat (do not overcook because the eggs will curdle). Add some of the pasta liquid if the pasta seems dry. Stir in the pancetta and parsley and serve adding salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to taste.

Creamy egg mixture

The most common carbonara calls for egg yolks instead of eggs. So you can substitute 4 egg yolks for the 2 eggs in the above recipe (I hate to waste the whites). If you have a trim waste line you can add ½ cup heavy cream to the egg mixture and 2 garlic cloves (diced).

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://easy-pasta-recipes.blogspot.com/2011/04/carbonara-pasta-recipes-enjoy.html' title='Carbonara Pasta Recipes.. However, are always leads to Italian life style?

Years ago, the Italian mammas used to make pasta by themselves. Nowadays (things have changed) they usually buy it for everyday use in the supermarket and used to make at home ravioli, taleteller and some other specialties for joyful events.

It looks like a loss, but it is not! Of course, we want the mammas to keep the tradition, but now anyone can cook a good dish of pasta without needing to have extra time to make pasta at home. The Italian kitchen is turning more natural and easy, without losing its characteristics, allowing all of us to prepare tasty and easy dishes, as the following ?pasta al pesto?.

Pasta has no season, but its sauce has!

Springtime in Italy is a real feel and smell season, as we begin to go out often and when the weather allows, we eat outside very often.

All these circumstances led us to recognize the season's aromas and uses. One of these main aromas it the basil one.

It is widely used in Italian cuisine, but during springtime it reaches its best, and it matches salads, tomato salads and also pasta sauces.

One of my favorite pasta recipes is Pasta al pesto.

The original recipe originated in Liguria (note: Liguria is an Italian region) and uses troffie, a kind of fresh pasta that you can maybe find at your market. However, you can use penne (or any other pasta you prefer!) also, the long ones are good, as spaghetti, bavettine and others.

What you will need for 4 people

400gr of pasta

a hand of fresh basil leaves

about 3 spoons of grated parmesan

extra virgin olive oil

30g of pine nuts

a piece of garlic

Put the water to boil and begin to put into your mixer, the garlic, the pine nuts, the grated parmesan. As it mixes, add extra virgin olive oil until it becomes a cream to make Italian Pasta Recipe.

When the water boils, add salt and the pasta and set your timer for the time needed for the kind of pasta you are cooking (usually it is written on the package). About 2 or 3 minutes before your pasta is done take 2 or 3 spoons of the boiling water and add to your pesto. It helps it to become more creamer and easier to mix.

When the pasta is done, you just have to pour it through a strainer and mix your pesto with pasta. It is done! Its healthy (you have only raw and unsaturated fat), easy and tasty! Buon appetito!

Difficulty: very easy

Time needed: time needed for boiling the water and cooking the pasta (about half an hour or less). What pesto means?

Pesto comes from the verb pestare that means pound on, referred to the pounder where ingredients were put inside and then pounded with a pestle.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://easy-pasta-recipes.blogspot.com/2011/04/italian-pasta-recipe-enjoy-italy.html' title='Italian Pasta Recipe ... Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the spaghetti noodles for about 10 minutes, or until al dente. Preheat the grill at a high heat setting. Add the shrimp to skewers and grill for about 3 minutes on each side, or until thoroughly cooked. You might want to oil the grate slightly to prevent the shrimp from sticking. Serve the shrimp on top of the noodles and drizzle just a bit of the remaining marinade on top.

Tuna Tetrazzini Pasta Recipe.

Cook for about 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain the noodles. Melt the butter in a sauce pan over medium-low heat, then add the onion and sauté until the onion turns soft, then add the tuna and mushrooms. Cook for about 3 or 4 minutes. Remove the tuna mixture from the heat and set aside in a large bowl. In a separate sauce pan, combie the flour, milk, mayonnaise, sherry, and salt. Mix well and heat until the sauce thickens. Pour the sauce into the bowl with the tuna. Mix well, then add the noodles. When the noodles are fully coated with sauce, transfer the mixture to a casserole dish. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top and bake at 350 degrees F for half an hour.

Angel Hair Pasta with Chicken recipe

Add the wine and golden mushroom soup, then stir well. Mix in the cream cheese. Let this mixture heat thoroughly, but be careful not to let it boil. Arrange the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the sauce over them. Bake at 325 degrees F for about an hour. About half an hour before the chicken is done, bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta noodles for about 10 minutes. Drain the noodles and cube the chicken. Serve the chicken on top of the noodles and top with the excess sauce.
