If really want to know how to make money online, then first get yourself a website. Once you have done that, use search engine optimization, or SEO, to give yourself the best opportunity for your site to be listed high enough on the Google search engine result listings as to provide you with sufficient free advertising to enable you to make money.

Of course, you need a product, but these are easy to find. You can use the keyword in strategic positions, such as in your first 100 characters and in the final paragraph, and also restrict its use to no more than twice in your first 500 characters, and no more than around 4 or 5 times in a 400 word article. Some believe even that to be too many these days.

You also have to use language and vocabulary that allows the spiders to determine that your web page is about canal locks and not security locks, since the title 'the History of Locks' does not offer that distinction. That is where Google's latent semantic indexing (LSI) algorithm comes into play.

There are many other ways in which you can make money online using search engine optimization on your web pages, and once you have learned and applied these in your internet marketing campaigns you will have a better chance than most of getting your web page listed high in the Google listings, and those of the other search engines, and so getting you lots of free advertising that is critical to your success

Chinese Cash in on New Land Opportunities

DUTOU VILLAGE, China -- Mo Dede sits in his small office flanked by fields of kidney beans and a poster of Mao Zedong on the wall that "brings me luck," he says.

The Communist leader might spin in his grave, though, if he could see what Mo is doing with his farming business these days -- with the explicit approval of the government in Beijing.

As part of a sweeping land-reform package announced last month, Mo and 700 million other Chinese farmers can now pay to farm other people's land, or consolidate their plots into larger, more productive operations.

That was a big step toward undoing decades of Communist laws that forbid private land ownership. Technically, land is still owned by a collective, such as a village, but Mo says the reform will allow him and his neighbors to combine their land into one operation -- and lead better lives as a result.

"I want to get all of Fuli township into my cooperative. Everyone can make money from it. We provide a whole set of services from seeds to sales," Mo says.

The overhaul formalizes a practice that has already been going on in many parts of the country. It comes at a time when China's rapid economic growth is driving up food prices worldwide, forcing the government to look within its own borders to meet demand.

Another goal is to raise income levels in rural areas, where many people earn just $1 a day and there are few signs of the glittering prosperity present in eastern cities such as Shanghai and Beijing. Farmers, long the mainstay of China's economy, have seen their living standards fall far behind, prompting 200 million farmers to move to urban centers in recent years.

The reform will allow farmers to transfer the right to use the small plots they have tilled for three decades. China also promises to crack down on land grabs by local officials without adequate compensation, a major cause of protests.

The challenges of getting the most out of China's farms are immense, says Li Ping of the Rural Development Institute, a Seattle-based group pushing for land rights for the world's poor.

"China is the opposite of the USA, which has an abundance of capital and land. In China, labor is abundant, but it is short of land and rural capital," he says.

The average rural household in China farms just 1.5 acres, Li says. Under the new policy, "farmers will have more secure land rights, and transferees will have less fear of land loss, so this will stimulate market action," he says.

Villagers form a cooperative

On the banks of the Li River in southern China's Guangxi province, the farmers of Dutou village did not wait for the government's official announcement.

Last summer, Mo assembled 100 villagers into a high-tech vegetable cooperative by offering free insecticide and fertilizer, and by guaranteeing a price for the kidney beans they plant.

The 36-year-old who dropped out of school at age 13 now makes more than $30,000 a year. He returned to Guangxi province 10 years ago to explore agribusiness after scrounging jobs as a cook or a builder elsewhere.

Like many farmers, Liao Pingying, 37, was skeptical of Mo's plan. "But he is good at persuading people, including me," Liao says.

In August, Liao rented 11.5 acres from other farmers to plant kidney beans for Mo. The profits have been quick. Liao says he made $290 to $440 per 0.16 acre, and paid just $30 to $45 to lease each parcel.

Don't expect U.S.-style agribusiness giants to spring up overnight, says Sally Sargeson, who specializes in China's rural issues at the Australian National University. For people in the countryside, land is their safety net, unlike residents in big cities who have access to government programs and payouts.

Leasing their land may help farmers get some real value out of it, says Ma Wenfeng, a grains analyst in Beijing.

"The government is trying to find ways to help people in different situations become more productive and profitable in agribusiness," Sargeson says. "The changes will take place over the next decade, not next year."

Sargeson says high income remains a distant dream for many farmers. Average annual income for those in rural areas was $606 in 2007 -- less than one-third of city salaries, a record gap that has sparked protests.

Seizing the opportunity

In Dutou village, Qing Zhangcheng, 22, returned from a factory job in southeast Fujian province to help his parents cash in on the new land opportunities.

"We will plant whatever Mo tells us to. He has better knowledge than most farmers, and will not let us lose money. Farming in the village is more organized now. If there is money to make here, then more young people like me will return," he says.

For some farmers, the changes can't come soon enough.

"I wish someone would pay to use my land," says Yuan Yunmu, 50, while leading his water buffalo back home to Chaoyang village near Dutou.

His family barely gets by on the $146 earned in a year from growing potatoes on their tiny plot.

How Much Money EBay Stole From Me In The Last Week!

This past 7 days I did an experiment. I had not listed on eBay in over two months so I really never had any idea what I was truly spending per item in listing and final valuation fees… until now… My account was paid up and I was beginning from ground zero.

Well I put on 182 items of good to very good antique and vintage costume jewelry with most under $10.00, a number of them under $20.00 and a few under $40.00. None of my auction listings had any extra “bells and whistles” so that most listed for $.35 - $.90. I sold 55 auctions for $1,105.00… not bad for a week’s work? Can’t beat it huh!!! Well the week has ended and let me give you the total breakdown of my costs.

With the cost of 182 auctions’ listing fees, 30 items relisting fees and final valuation fees I owe eBay $305.55. So that means I now made $799.45… still not bad for a week’s work… right? Oh I forgot ebay buyers can now only pay with paypal and this is any estimated $133.99 in Paypal charges (remember this is still going into eBay’s pocket). Well that now brings me down to $665.46… okay not as good as I had hoped… but, oh I forgot the cost of my merchandise which at the low end is about $455.00 and which I also bought through eBay so they made more money from me when I made my bids to win it … now I made $210.46 … well now we are down below minimum wage for my 40 hours of work. And it gets worse, I offered FREE SHIPPING as eBay really like to get buyers and this will be about another $100.00… which leaves me with a grand total for the week of $110.46 divided by a 40 hour week makes my hourly rate $2.76 an hour.

So as you see between eBay and Paypal my original $1,105.00 income was reduced by 40% for their fees. This is higher than the highest tax bracket… this is higher than what an auctioneer would have charged and they would have actually worked for the money and probably sold everything.
Throughout the annals of time, I am sure that Ebay along with its subsidiary Paypal are the greediest two companies to have ever graced the face of the earth. One more point about eBay… when listing an auction, eBay would like to see you contribute a percentage of your sales to a charity from 10% to a whopping 100%. I really hope no eBay seller is under the delusion that eBay is sending a check to your favorite charity with your name on it… wrong …eBay is taking your hard earned charitable contribution and writing it off against their corporate taxes thus lowering eBay’s tax liability. EBay sellers fill eBay’s pockets with tons of cash and then eBay turns around and expects eBay sellers to pay their taxes!!! This is unfathomable greed and eBay continues to get away with it!!!
Now along with all of this, as a seller I have to worry that someone will leave me negative feedback and I have no recourse, or God forbid someone reverses their payment to me on Paypal and I am out those additional funds, or that my Power Seller (what good is it anyways) will be dropped or the ultimate I will wake up one morning and across my screen in big yellow words “YOU ARE SUSPENDED FROM EBAY” for something inane and trivial.

I honestly have to ask why do people put up with this greed and craziness. Why do eBay sellers struggle to keep eBay’s pockets over brimming and their stockholders fat!!! Ebay is not the place it used to be or is it really even an option as a place to make money. Actually most could work at McDonalds and make twice as much and get a free burger in the bargain.

The problem is that people who love auctions and buying and selling vintage and antique things can’t get it out of their blood. How to make more money playing poker online: part 2

In part 1 of this series I discussed how to take advantage of bonuses from the online poker sites. In this installment I will go over rakeback; what it is, and how to use it.

Rakeback

before you initially sign up at a site you should look around to see if the site offers rake-back through an affiliate.

An affiliate is a person, or web-site, that directs players to the poker site in exchange for some type of compensation. For doing this the poker site will give the affiliate a % of that players rake. For those of you unfamiliar with the term: rake is a percentage of the pot taken by the site/card-room, usually no more than 5%.

Most affiliates will entice you to sign up with them by giving you a % of your rakeback. If an affiliate is given 35% of your rake they may offer you 25%-30%. A lot of players consider the rake to be minuscule, and a small percentage of one particular player even more minuscule. The truth is that these minuscule amounts add up to a lot, especially if you play a considerable amount of poker.

Suppose, you play an average of 500 hands a day at $.50/$1 or $1/$2 limit, and each hand is raked $.40 on average. If there are 10 players at the table that means you are contributing $.04 a hand to the rake, doesn’t seem like much does it? Now, the affiliate you signed up through is giving you 25% in rakeback, or $.01 a hand, now it seems really insignificant doesn’t it?

Well, lets look at it long-term: $.01 x 500 hands is $5. Every day you are earning $5 from rakeback for doing nothing, IT'S FREE MONEY! Over the course of a year this would add up to $1,825; that’s a pretty good Christmas bonus. Imagine if you played a higher limit such as $2/$4 or $3/$6 where the rake averages $1, you would be earning $.025 a hand or $12.50 a day. How about if you are a $5/$10 or $10/$20 player, where the rake averages $3 a hand. You would be making $.75 a hand or, $37.50 a day!

By doing a little research and signing up through an affiliate a $5/$10 player could make an extra $13,687 a year.

Not every site offers rake-back but many do. The best way to find a legitimate affiliate (yes, some people will get your rakeback and never pay you your %), or to find out if a site offers rake-back deals is to ask people on an internet poker forum. I recommend pokerforums.org. By asking other players you will be directed to a site that has a good reputation.

An affiliate I highly recommend is raketherake.com. I use them personally and have nothing but positive things to say. You can use referral code RTR 26137 for even better deals.

To make money playing poker you need to be a solid player. However, if you play online there is another way to make money. Very few players take full advantage of the bonuses, rakeback, and other perks online sites offer.

Bonuses:

I have yet to come across an internet site that does not offer a first time deposit bonus. When you initially sign up with a site they will match your deposit with a certain percentage up to a predetermined amount. For instance, a site may offer a 50% deposit bonus up to $200. That means for every dollar you deposit they will give you an additional $.50. If you deposited $400 you would be eligible for the maximum bonus of $200.

Unfortunately like everything else there are always strings attached. Typically most sites require you play a certain amount of eligible hands before you receive the bonus.

In addition to the first time deposit bonus many sites offer reload bonuses. Reload bonuses are given each time you redeposit money on the site, usually no more than once per month. Some sites do not even require you to redeposit, simply by playing a certain number of hands every month they will credit you with a reload bonus. Reload bonuses are typically smaller than first time bonuses since you have already chosen to play at their site.

The best way to take advantage of bonuses is to play on multiple sites. By doing this you will be able to collect many of the lucrative first time deposit bonuses, and then continue to collect reload bonuses. By playing multiple sites you will almost always be working on clearing a bonus in addition to any money you make from winning!

If you play only 1 site you will clear your deposit bonuses within a few sessions and then you'll be playing only for your winnings!?!?! By being able to move your money to another site you will be able to continually clear a bonus while also making money through winning.

If you trawl through the AdSense message board you can’t help but come across tales of woe from AdSense publishers that have had their account banned by Google.

Below is a list of ways people have been banned from AdSense and information on how to avoid it happening to you.

Don’t click on your own ads

The obvious one but still people do it. Google has the IP address of the computer/s that you’ve used to create and check your AdSense account. If it sees that this IP address clicks one of your ads you’re in trouble.

Don’t do it. It’s theft not from Google but from the AdWords advertisers.

If you want to go to a site advertised by one of your ads don’t click on it look at the URL of the advertising site at the bottom of the ad and type it into your browser.

If you click on one accidentally (which does happen) you’re probably be ok but it’s worth dropping a quick email to Google with an explanation and apology

Don’t log in to AdSense from a shared computer.

As I said above Google keeps a record of every machine IP address used to look at your account. If you check your stats on a machine then someone else clicks on your ads from the same machine Google sees this as click fraud. Worth bearing in mind when thinking of checking your stats from somewhere like an Internet Café.

Don’t log in to AdSense from work.

Apart from getting in trouble with the company that employs you there’s also a further real risk. Most companies use a proxy server to access the Internet. A proxy server with ONE IP ADDRESS. Therefore you checking your ads from work means this proxy IP address being recorded by Google as one that you use. Problem is if there are 1000 people in your company it is the same IP address for them too. Google can’t differentiate between you and the other 999 employees in your company. If one of these 999 clicks on one of your ads it’s ban time.

Don’t get into a ‘I’ll click your ads if you click mine’ agreement with another Webmaster.

As above Google will have your IP address and that of every AdSense publisher. If they see these IP addresses consistently clicking on each other ads it’s goodbye for both of you.

Don’t tell friends and family.

Telling friends and family about your money making websites can lead to problems. Even if you tell them not to click on your ads there’s always the chance that Auntie Maud will think it’s a good idea to make some extra money for her favourite nephew. 100 clicks later from the same visitor and your account is screaming ‘Click Fraud’.

Receiving clicks from Illegal traffic

Check the AdSense TOS for sources of traffic that aren’t allowed by Google. These include methods like Traffic exchange, PTC advertising, Auto surf etc.

Do monitor your visitor and AdSense figures

Check your account at least once a day. If you see a massive spike coupled with a massive increase in Page CTR investigate using your visitor stats website. If you see it’s all come from the same IP address you could have been the victim of a malicious attack – inform Google via email and offer them access to your logs.

First time to start a blog? Or just starting a new one? You ~~might want~~ should look at this checklist on how to start a blog and live a majestic life out of it. You don’t want to do my mistakes again, right?

1. Determine what you will be blogging about

Just imagine a racecar driver without a map. Of course, he’ll be lost right? It’s the same as in blogging. You don’t know what you’re blogging about, you don’t know your niche. Your blog will quickly die. So, start off by picking a niche but be sure it’s a broad one that you can blog about for years.

2. Think of a catchy, entertaining and easy to remember title

Now, invent something that makes someone curious when they see it. Make it catchy, that will make them laugh. Invent a cool brand that’ll make them blog about you.

Take this blog’s brand for example. When you see a link that says “Make Money Online” Will you click it? More likely, you’ll not because there are tons of sites that talk about make money online but if I add little twist like “Make Money Online with a 13-year old” Will you click it? ;)

3. Buy a domain name that is related to your title

AND is easy to remember! Domain names matter nowadays because there are tons of sites swarming the web. How could a person remember your domain that says makemoneyonlinewithsomethingsomething.com? So always keep it short, the shorter the better. Try hunting domains with 2-3 words.

4. Choose a blogging platform

Try considering your needs and budget. For example you just need a simple blog and you don’t have a budget for a cheap $20 web host try blogger :P It’s easier to run and can be indexed by search engines much easier but if you’re the kind of guy who needs a lot of plugins and themes. I recommend WordPress, hands down. If you’ve chosen a free hosted blogging platform, ignore step 5.

5. Find a reliable web host

Who likes to visit a site that always gives you a “sorry, can’t connect messages” Its ok at first but when it hits a reader 2 or more times it gets irritating.

You might as well find a reliable web host. Ask forums for their suggestions. Review the web host first and remember that 99.9% uptime and 99.5% uptime is a big difference!

6. Find a flexible theme and EDIT it

Your blog’s design is part of your blog’s brand. If you know a little bit of CSS and some html, try editing some cool themes or if you’re not just in to designing. You could hire someone at elance.com. Just remember to be unique.

7. Sign-up for a Web Analytics

How can you tell if you’re doing the right thing, if your marketing tactics is effective if you don’t have stats? Web analytics is very important especially on a blog. Web analytics can tell you what’s hot on your blog, what’s lame, what most people like and what’s the most useful post you got.

Another thing that’s very important about web analytics is that you can track where your visitors came. Is it Referral? - Visitors referred by other sites. Direct? – Visitors who visited your website by typing your blog’s URL in their browser and last but most importantly, Search Engine? – Visitors who found your blog through organic search. 8. Make a cool first post about what your blog is

Delete the old “Hello World!”. Make a cool first post about you and your blog. Nobody wants to see a lame first post and a test comment by old Mr. WordPress!

9. Think about what you’ve done

Geesh! Steps 1-9 is hard work, it’s time to recap all the things that you’ve accomplished and review it all again if you missed or forgot something behind. Ask yourself these questions first:

Do I have a niche that I can blog about for years?
Do I have the right website title?
Is my domain easy to remember?
Do I really like this blogging platform?
Is my *hosting* reliable?
Do I have a unique theme?
Did I sign up for a web analytics?
Did I make a cool first post?
Are my answers to the above questions are yes?

If not, go back to number 1.

10. Start posting REAL content – The REAL Challenge

Right, it’s now time to research and blog about your niche. Keep your promises, research and be sure about your facts and give them the REAL content. Remember that it’s not that easy to blog like what most bloggers think. It can burn you out so be prepared!

Also, a blog is for you to share your thoughts on a specific topic. Your not CNN, don’t write like you’re writing a book for schools. Pull off some jokes, catchy tag lines or some cool sayings maybe.

11. Socialize with other bloggers

Now you got the content, it’s time to show them to other people. Start off by socializing with bloggers like you. Make friends with them but don’t give too much trust. The internet is a scam world. Don’t give personal data, passwords, or even your analytics report, but I do have one thing to suggest “Be your self”

12. Build readership

Cool! You drove hundreds of visitors to your blog in just a week! Are they coming back? Or they’re just passing by and leaving like they haven’t seen you’re blog? Regular readers are your goldmine. They’re easier to but from you and they’ll even help you when you’re down or losing! Be sure to give them special treatment. Like a linklove post for your regular readers.

13. Monetize!

Now, here’s your reward. It’s time to monetize! You should have the right niche, blog title, domain, blogging platform, hosting, theme and analytics program for now. You should have received a pretty decent amount of traffic and most of all you have built a couple of loyal readers.

February 4, 2007 - Carl Ocab dot com was born. The 13-year old blogger made waves, gigantic waves in the blogosphere - up to now.

Err! Enough with the spiffy 3rd voice introduction.

So yeah, I’ve just celebrated my first year anniversary, bought a cake and took a good glance of the past. I’ll also be having a contest, but there’s more than that.

Blogging has taught me hundreds of things since then. Today, I’ve compiled them and picked the best to share it with you. I’d suggest you bookmark it, print it out and save it in your desktop.

But before that, I would like to give a little plug here to those who have helped me succeed a lot of things online, blogging and in life. Special mention goes to the Lord God for guiding me, helping me and in all of these things. My parents who have supported me all the time. Lil’ brother and sister for the laughs. Friends and classmates (Gloria, Audrey and Jean requested a special mention, hehe) for giving me few hits here and there and for taunting me for my outstanding english - that I rarely show in class. My online buddies (too many to mention) for helping me with their tips and updates and last but not the least, to YOU my readers.

Alright, I guess I’ve thanked everyone. Without further ado, here are the 32 things that blogging taught me in 12 months:

1. WIIFM or What’s In It For Me

The first question that pops out to all of us everytime.

Let’s have a little question and answer here just to prove it to you:

Why do you work? - To make money.
Why do you want to make money? - To buy the coolest car.
Why do you want to buy the coolest car? - To impress my neighbor.

Ask yourself, you’ll always find out that you do all things that give you a benefit.

Here’s a totally different scenario where you want to help people in need. You try to do it anonymously as you can.

But what’s in it for you? - you feel happy on the inside helping people and seeing them happy.

People need benefits. You can’t just ask someone’s shirt if it wouldn’t benefit them, and you can’t sell a product without giving a reason why the customer need your product. Show the benefits.

You won’t be reading this article if you didn’t have YOUR benefit right? Ask yourself.

2. People Like To Be Fed, Spoon Fed

I added a follow up message to those who download my free report “This Is Quick Money” asking them “What have you done today that I taught you in the report you downloaded yesterday?” I got loads of replies.

They were asking me basic questions like “How do I start my own freelance service?” or “What is an autoresponder?” that can be simply answered by our little household friend - Google.

Look at it on the brighter side, what if you sell an ebook that spoon feds people on what they need. Wouldn’t that make you a good sum of money?

3. Content Is Not King, Marketing Is

The internet is FULL and overspilling with awesome useful content. It’s so many, you can’t stay on a site for a minute.

If you generate more and more content, do you think your traffic will also increase? Nah. Well with the right marketing, it will.

Marketing without content is dumb. So I consider content, as part of marketing.

4. Always Show BIG Numbers

What do A-listers have in common? (Preferably John Chow, Shoemoney, and Problogger)

They have BIG Numbers to show.

John Chow with his eye cracking monthly earnings, Schoe with his $180k AdSense check and Problogger with an astonishing amount feed readers.

5. Sleep Is Important

Here’s a good one.

There was a time when I slept 1:30 AM on a Sunday night. Tomorrow is school so I had to get up 5:00 AM.

That’s roughly four hours of sleep for me. My eyes was closing all day long. I even took a nap on our lunch break.

When I got home, I tried to write an article but I just can’t. No ideas was floating on my mind. All I can think of is to sleep and forget all those things first. I can’t even answer a single email!

I’ve learned a lesson the hard way.

6. Act Now, There’s No Later

You have this super idea that you know if you take action, would make thousands over thousands of dollars. After sometime, you forgot about it and you were surprised to see someone did it and got the cash you dreamed of. Has this happened to you?

When you have an idea, implement it now - before anyone does. If you have to stay up all night long, sure. Just act.

7. Log Your Achievements For The Day

Everyday I bullet point all the things I’ve done. From writing a blog post to SEO stuff and etc, just so I can track my achievements.

If I did less the other day, then I would exert more effort the next day.

8. Blogging Is A Sport

You get better and better everyday. The more practice, the better you get.

9. You Won’t Make Money Blogging - ALONE

Yes, you won’t make money blogging alone. Although you can get some coins but that’s not money. It’s not enough compared to the time blogging ate.

That’s why, there’s a system. With that in place, everything is completely duplicatable - Of course, you have the option to hire writers too.

So if you think you can make money off blogging by yourself now, STOP.

10. Blogging Is A Job

Writing an article everyday, sponsored review deadlines, blog commenting schedules?

What’s the difference from your ordinary day job? Ah well at least, you’re at home. But still…

11. Very Good Is Not Very Good At All

I owe this one to Seth Godin. Having read his Purple Cow (Still on the halfway) my perspective and goals change when doing something.

We see very good things everyday, when we walk down the street, everywhere. Very good is too saturated. When you’re unique, you’re just you, you stand out.

12. You Don’t Have To Be Passionate About Your Niche

Our passion is to make money – not writing. So why do you need to be passionate about your niche? You can always hire writers who are passionate enough to write good articles for you.

13. Don’t Sell Yourself Too Thin

Have you encountered those $27, $17 or even $7 crap books? (No offense intended, most of them are really CRAP). They’re selling their self too thin, why sell for $7 if you can for $97?

If you think you can sell a $97 product 100 times, do you think you can sell it for $7 1000 times – with the same people? No! Not a chance.

Why?

You see, some people are not buyers. They’re there to see what’s going on and skim over your site, but only small amount of real buyers are worried about the price.

So if you have 1000 prospects, 10% of them bought the $97, but not 100% of them will buy your cheap $7 product.

14. Monetize Now Or Die

The “Wait for your readership to grow, before you monetize” saying just makes me laugh all the time.

Let’s just say you waited half a year to monetize your blog, then on the 7th month, your hosting crashes. All the back ups are gone – or your blog got hacked, the tables in your database ruined and you don’t have a chance to fix it.

15. Blogging Is Communication

I’ll let author Tom Peters speak to you “Communication is everyone’s panacea for everything.” In blogging, you communicate by writing informally. You write like you’re talking to your reader. Informal is the best, even copywriter legend Gary Halbert (You are a homo habilis if you don’t know him) uses it to sell!

16. Go Positive

Don’t give clues to your readers for the things that you don’t want them to do. Like say, “Don’t unsubscribe to my blog! I’ll post tomorrow” (Darn, I said it! But with this post, I think you would stay subscribed, aye?) or “Don’t leave yet… *sales pitch here*”

Even though that’s a warning, it’s still a command that might give your visitors a hint.

17. Experiment!

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, take risks - the money is there. Here’s one from me ol’ favorite speaker Anthony Robbins “There is no failure, there are only results”.

18. Experiment! Be Careful Though

Just a word of warning, don’t go below the belt. If it still urges you, don’t forget to grab hold of your privacy.

19. Gurus Don’t Know Everything

Even though they make thousands or even millions of dollars online, they don’t know everything.

I’ve talked to loads of marketers who make six figures a month, but guess what - I still have something to share to them. Everyone has something good at.

20. Focus

Speaking of number 19, that’s the number one reason why those guys are called “gurus”. They are good at a specific, very VERY specific sub niches of internet marketing.

In link building, we have Jack Humphrey. List building, Joel Christopher. Affiliate marketing, Ewen Chia and Chris Mcneeney. Traffic generation, John Reese. The list goes on…

They boiled down so much, they tend to ignore other things not relevant from the niche they are focusing at.

21. Be Prepared For Legal Issues

I can’t believe loads of people put legal issues as the last item on their list! Imagine with just one (yes, it’s that serious that I have to put all the styles in it) flaw, you can lose your whole business - or worse, even your personal stuff.

I won’t finish this as I’m not qualified to do so. Just go get a lawyer now and let him tell you what to do.

22. Set Goals In Everything You Do

When I get home from school, I rest for half an hour before I go online. I never thought that that 30 minutes is one of the most important factors of success.

I plan my day strategically so I won’t lose a single minute out of the blue. And these goals are not just for the sake of writing, they need to be done.

23. Shorter = Better

We are at the attention age era. People are surrounded by tons of information, we give too little attention to things as we have the option to just move on and click away.

In that case, we have less time to tell people what we are really trying to tell them. And heck, it’s actually harder to explain things shorter than the usual.

P.S. Yes, this article is shorter than the usual, I have 32 things to pin point so there. :-)

24. Design Is An Important Factor

Like what I said above, we are at the attention age - and one of the most attention grabbing part of a site is it’s design.

Your website’s design speaks for you. Connect your design with your niche. I guess my master plan is a good example.

25. Sometimes We Could Use Some Ramblings

Blogging is communication aye? (number 15) Why not give your readers a bit taste of your life and how you live?

Even though, yes, your readers are there for topics about your niche, but a post a month with updates of your current lifestyle won’t hurt right?

Most people are curious cats and would always like a snippet of someone’s life. That’s one reason why gossip is a pretty wide niche. ;-)

26. Mingle With The Big Boys

It has been said that if you add up all the earnings of the top five people you hang out most and get the average of it, it will be close to your current income.

That’s simply true. When you hang out with poor people, they’ll influence you to do what poor people do. If you hang out with middleclasses, same thing happens. If you hang out with millionaires, they will influence you too on how to become as rich as them. Even if you have nothing in hand! They’ve got the kicks, all you have to do is listen.

27. Under Promise, Over Deliver

I hear amazon.com does this nicely.

When I ordered my first books from amazon they gave me a rough date when will the books arrive, it’s for three weeks I guess. Surprisingly it arrived in our frontdoor in only two weeks.

I’m pretty sure that they knew they can give it in less than three weeks, they just under promised to make us think they have over delivered in service.

28. Protect Your Feed

Content aggregation is a big hit these days. You know those guys who scrape all your content and plaster big blocks of ads around it trying to make money?

Yes, it annoys me too. One way or another, I see five to 10 duplicates of every article I post on this blog - luckily most of them links back to the original article, but some just don’t get it. Some just copy pastes the whole post, leaving no trace behind.

However, if you place links inside your posts, it will be carried by the scraper because most of them still carry out the html.

29. Make People Feel Important

This I owe to my email list.

First of all, lead capturing is harder than you think it is. It takes three steps to make people subscribe to your list. They type their name and email, press subscribe and go to their inbox to confirm it. Sounds simple? NO! Tell you what (I guess there’s no softer way to say this) people are LAZY.

Why do they have to spend their spare minute to subscribe to your newsletter (or whatever you are offering) when he can subscribe to the one next block?

Make them feel important, give them private access to your swipe files for example. Or maybe a beta access to your new site, etc.

30. People Love Lists

Oh c’mon, you’d never get this far if you didn’t love lists! ;-)

31. Leverage Other People’s Resources

In order to start making money, there are a lot of things you should consider. You need traffic, list, content, credibility and tons more. If you drill down those things and do it all by yourself, it will take years before you can establish a good online business. Notice, I only said good.

But what if you can leverage other people’s resources? Other people’s traffic, list, content and credibility? Wouldn’t that skyrocket your business and your profits?

32. Read Then Implement

This is probably the best thing that blogging taught me after 12 months - read. Don’t just skim, read. If you bought a book today, read it, finish it then implement it. Don’t get another book if you still haven’t implemented the principles taught in the first one.

Start this year right, buy a book now then read it and implement. You’ll be mesmerized by your improvement. I guarantee it.

After taking my Speech Power class, I dashed to my desktop and read my emails. Suddenly, an email subscriber caught me online and instant messaged me on gTalk. He needed help he said, we conversed for bout 10 minutes.

Although I don’t really promote the “Make money now” model because internet marketing should be treated as a business and most of these techniques require a whole lotta work - there are just times where we need to start making money now.

So for bout an hour, I hunted for ways to make money online now, researched them thoroughly and collected useful links to support it.

Without further ado, here they are:

Data entry

Have an I.Q. of 60 and above? (Who doesn’t?!) Data entry is simply transcribing a different form of data into another form. For example, scanned pages of a book and handwritten letters into a Microsoft Word format.

In advanced jobs, it can be the transcribing of a different program. Be careful though, with just one mistake even a single space can cause a whole lotta errors in the program. So if you want to take the job, you have to be a patient typist and as accurate as an eagle.

Paid to click

I bet even a caveman can do this. You view a website for a certain amount of time and after that time expires, you are credited for bout $0.01-0.05 which is actually peanuts. But hey, do it for around an hour a day and you’ll get a bunch of peanuts!

And did I tell you that some paid to click sites offer second tier commissions? If you refer a friend you will be given a certain amount depending on their activity. Imagine referring 10 friends, 100 or even 1000?! That would give you a truck load of peanuts!

There are literally thousands of get paid to click sites, but the best probably is Bux.to. They’ve paid a whole lotta members ranging from two figures to even five figures! (Check their forum for success stories)

Graphic design

Do you know how to pull in heavy graphics out of thin air? Or do you have a clean and simple minimalist mind that a few are looking for?

If you eat and breathe design, why not get hired for an hour or two and do designs for people. There are loads of webmasters looking for graphic designers who pay bout $50-$100 for just a simple logo.

Most graphic designers use Adobe Photoshop - that is very costly, get Gimp. It’s free.

Coding

On the other hand, if you’re not a right brain kind of guy. Try coding.

You convert image designs of a website into a real live website. If you get the hang of it, you can make a high quality coded webpage for bout 30 minutes only. If you don’t know how to code HTML/CSS, go to HTMLdog to learn it step by step.

For a more sophisticated job. PHP, Perl, Cgi and many other programming jobs are also available on the said forums.

Writing

Probably one of the easiest way to make money online now - writing.

The biggest online company Google, what are they doing? Directing people to content right? And one kind of content aside from videos and images are written articles.

Internet marketers need content to feed Google and their visitors. Some people are just not into writing - well most webmasters are not into it really (I’m glad I am not one of them) so what they do is hire writers for $3-$5 for every 300 word article.

Don’t know the topic they are requesting? No problem! Use our friendly household tool - Google.

Buy and sell

On the early days of my online venture, I used to buy private label products (Articles, ebooks, etc.) at a very low price say $5 per package and repackage them for every specific niche. Then create a name for it, new graphics and it’s out on the market.

You can also buy and sell websites. Buy a cheap one, develop it a lil’ bit and then sell it on the same day.

Paid surveys

Tons of people are saying that it’s a big scam because it’s uber easy and has a big payout - but hey, they’ve been around for a very looong time. Why? Some do really pay.

So, are you up for sharing your personal information OR maybe sharing your fictional information? ;-)

If you want to fill out surveys, I recommend signing up for Survey Savvy or Cash Crate as they have maintained a good reputation overtime - and they have an easy smooth interface, beat that?

SEO services

One major aspect of SEO or search engine optimization is off page optimization. This can be achieved by buidling quality backlinks to a site.

Link building is not that hard when you have the formula but it does require tons of human power. One of the ways to build backlinks is by social bookmarking a site to Digg, Reddit, etc. Another is by submitting it to web directories, leaving blog comments and many other.

This is a big hit right now as loads of webmasters are looking for this service.

Video marketing

This way is out of the blue - offer video marketing services.

If you hang out on Youtube (Who doesnt?!) or other video sites, you may have watched of the phenomenal Will it blend series or maybe Kobe’s fake jump - what do they have in common? They both advertised a product!

Well you don’t have to have a blender to get millions of views, just by rapping, crying or even laughing you can too ;-)

On a serious note, power point slides and video tutorials work well too. Here’s a great example.

Transcribing

Most internet marketers sell variations of their product like say video presentation, audio presentation and text presentation to add more value and most importantly to raise the price.

However, doing so takes a whole lotta time. Imagine transcribing a one hour audio interview into a text presentation.

That’s where you come in. You can offer transcribing services on webmaster forums and charge a per minute rate. All it takes is a good ear and quick hands.

Forum posting

One of the hardest part of running a forum is at the start - your forum is dead quiet. No one is talking and no one want to start talking.

Webmasters’ solution to that is paid forum posting. This will be easy for teens especially if the forums’ topic are games, life and sports. It will be like chatting to your buddy - and being paid! What’s better than that?

Sell pictures

Got a digital camera sitting at home? If you have the artists perspective then why not try selling pictures for stock photos.

Snap pictures of your dog, room or whatever you have in your house then sell them on stock photography sites like iStockPhoto and StockExpert. Just don’t forgot to keep your privacy ;-)

Sell emails

It has been said tons of times and proved by loads of marketers - the money is in the list, and it’s good that even startup companies are paying people to visit their website via AdWords just to capture leads.

Try to do a quick search for “Web Design Las Vegas” in Google (This might not work on some countries because ads are geographically targeted, so I would suggest using a US based proxy). Did you know that the top 1-3 ads under the “Sponsored Links” are paying around $6 per click?!

So what if you make it easier for them? You capture the leads then sell it to them at a much affordable price?

Get an autoresponder, buy a private label product then give it away to related forums as an incentive to sign up to your list.

Do remember though that in your email capture form, tell them that by joining in your list, they will also be subscribed to other newsletters related to the product they are interested in.

Sell stuff!

Get up and check out your garage. If you see something worth looking at for a minute or two (Probably your dad’s old shoes, jacket or an old photo album) find a unique side that will set as a hook (Let’s say vintage shoes from the 60’s) then sell them on eBay, post an ad on Craigslist and Caching!

Brokerage

Have the guts to do some salestalk to unknown prospects? If you do, then offer brokering services. Broker domain names, websites and even partnership deals. It’s up to you on how you ask for payment - percentage or flat rate.
