We should be so lucky! But we try.

Whilst we may lavish care on our face we don’t give as much attention to other parts that probably give us more trouble or concern. Think how many people you know who suffer, from puffy ankles or swollen sore feet. The cause can be anything from poor circulation to over shopping in tight shoes. Now make It & Co being a very down to earth, no nonsense natural company has the answer with its Feet First Cream. It’s cooling, refreshing and with its essential oil base stimulates the microcirculation. And for those who wear sling backs on the glamour trail it helps soften hard skin and with a bit of friction cuts out those unsightly white hard skin heels!

Thinking about feet how about does the lower back feel after gardening, shopping or heaving things in and out of the car boot, lifting the kids. Nature has lots of remedies but we feel that a nice bit of comfort and warmth goes a long way to ease the problem. The Cinnamon spice of our Thermal cream goes a long way to meet this need. Comfort an warmth in a pot and it smells nice too. What more could you want?

Tired eyes from the office? Too much reading in poor light or eyestrain from the flickering TV. Nature already made an answer and Make It & Co have harnessed it in their Eye Bright Gel. Eye Bright is a herb used for centuries for a variety of eye conditions. We use it to cool and refresh the eye area. It feels good and is great for travellers too with gritty eyes.

And when we smile our teeth and breath says what? Now of course you brush your teeth but ever wondered why toothpaste tastes sweet. Did you know some diabetics avoid certain toothpastes because they actually contain sugars! If you love Aromatherapy then you will love to clean your teeth with essential oils. Make It & Co Phytodent Tooth Gels lets you do this safely and effectively. We all know that essential oils are the natural fighters of wrong bacteria that produce plaque and that they are also great resolvers of minor gum and mouth problems. Try the green clay variety to really clean, Myrrh for pink toothbrush and Dead Sea salt for a sore mouth.

Coming in a handy pocket size pump dispenser these are great for travel. Use in the normal way on a toothbrush. Caught without water or a brush? Just a dab on the finger for a quick rub around will bring your teeth up squeaky clean! Great product, great idea. Maybe on first acquaintance not too great a taste. Remember no sweeteners and no artificial flavours and colours. You either love them or hate them first time BUT use them for a week and then go back to old-fashioned toothpaste and will you get a shock. We think you will stick to the Phytodent tooth gel. Try the test and see if we are right!

So may things to trial and use from Natures Store Cupboard brought to your home by Make It & Co leaders in balancing Nature and Science for beauty and well-being

SOAP is not good for SKIN CARE

It’s said that soap and water like granny used to use is the best way to cleanse. Not true!

Soap is made by reacting animal fats, vegetable fats or oils with a caustic alkali. Hard soaps use sodium hydroxide and soft soaps potassium hydroxide. This reaction is called saponification. The resulting product has a high alkaline pH. Soapy water has a pH around 9 or 10. The pH of skin is 5.5 and so its easy to see why sensitive skin is irritated by soap or why eczema and psoriasis sufferers have problems!

No soap is best left for perfuming drawers and it is not a skin care product. Those living in hard water areas know that it doesn’t lather and leaves a scum too. Did you realise though with hard water it has no cleansing power! The scum is not dirt.

The skin is a sensitive organ. With the rise of detergents as alternatives to soap we have also seen a rise in allergies. The public say they want natural products yet also want ever decreasing prices. Does it really make any sense to expect a cheap bubble bath with about .05% of Chamomile to actually do anything? If so we are fooling ourselves.

It doesn’t matter how you dolly up a soap or cheap detergent with pretty names and claims of purity at the end of the day a soap is a soap. Skin does not get on with harsh detergents or soaps. They are one of the causes of premature ageing, skin irritations, allergic reactions and so on.

So why not do what your ancestors really did. Way back in Roman times when people were very civilised and hygiene conscious they ‘washed’ with oil. Now before you say ‘yuk’ or I have an oily skin just stop and read.

The skin has a natural film which is a key anti ageing factor and it contains a host of natural moisturising factors. These factors combine to keep our skin healthy and without irritation. Natural oils keep this film in good condition. Drying harsh soaps and detergents literally kill it off.

The modern solution is the Make It & Co Wash oil series. No you wont find it oily although it is oil! Just magic to use and it leaves either face and body skin soft, smooth and feeling great. Don’t believe me then try it. Put your money where your mouth is as they say in Britain! It’s not cheap because its truly does have a high natural content. Nature is not cheap – ask a farmer.

Wet your face or body. Just pour some wash oil onto your face cloth, sponge or hand and smooth onto the wet areas. It turns creamy white and lifts out dirt and grime without disturbing your skin. It’s not a miracle it’s just plain sense for those who care about themselves, the elderly with fragile skins or for those of tender years.

And we do Shower and Bath products and they all smell fab with real essential oils.
Try some – its fun – its good for you.

NATURAL BEAUTY & SKIN CARE

There are so many brands on the bandwagon. Natural Cosmetics and Toiletries are big business make no mistake. As a consumer do you trust all the pure and natural claims and at ever decreasing prices? Have you noticed the way some Companies exploit fears of Preservatives, fears about Detergents, fears about Cancer, Allergies about anything that sells their brand. Very little is said about how they get around the problems they highlight except to say ‘we haven’t got this or that!’

Now I am sure you are a sensible person and know for example that any fruit and veg you buy deteriorates over time. Nature goes off from eggs to bread, peaches to butter. So how would you explain why some of these cosmetics have the secrets of the universe that Mother Nature herself or clever Research Chemists have never found! Doesn’t make sense does it? Pretty blue or brown bottles with pretty pictures do not make a natural product – there is more to it.

At make It & Co we have put you in charge.
