I loved the grey and yellow color palette… especially against the bright green gardens and the rich browns and earthy colors of their historic venue. Everything looked so rich and elegant, while the pop of sunny yellow kept it modern and fresh.

And how amazingly talented is the photographer, Susan Stripling?! I adore each and every one of her photos. I’m sure having such a stylish and beautiful couple made her job a little easier, though.

We die cut each of the program pages into a fan shape and secured them with a silver grommet, and the bride added the yellow satin ribbon to finish them off.

The escort cards were displayed on a beautiful aged wooden table and surrounded by candles and pictures of the couple’s parents. Another table held favor boxes decorated with yellow ribbon and an adhesive favor tag (where we printed a little note of thanks from the bride and groom). And inside – cupcakes!

The couple named their tables after their favorite New York restaurants – such a fun and personal idea – so for the escort cards, we put the guests’ names on the outside and added a fun “you have a reservation at…” line inside. We also added a custom-designed silverware icon to go with the theme, which coordinated perfectly with the menu icons needed for the yellow-backed place cards.

The menus were bordered in silver-grey and backed with bright yellow cardstock. The yellow satin roses the bride added were the perfect finishing touch. Don’t you love all the lush, bright flowers, bowls of lemons, and tall ivory candles? Gorgeous.

I’m loving Brides’ revival of the old Domino articles… it’s like a little inspiration treasure-trove.

To capture Eric’s love of all things tropical, and to celebrate the balmy weather and ocean breezes of our Florida location, we designed an outdoor party inspired by gorgeous photos of the Compass Point Beach Resort in Nassua, Bahamas.

We found two floral fabrics that worked perfectly with the theme and became the foundation for all the details created for the event. From this inspiration, the design scheme focused on bright, tropical pops of color against oceany shades of blue.

To keep it fun and light-hearted, we designed an invitation around a childhood picture of the birthday boy (conveniently suited up blue & white stripes). From there, the details of a fun children’s party were added to the mix – pool and yard games, water balloons, and gummy candy (Eric’s favorites).

Guests were treated to a display of more childhood photos – hung with twine and decorated with long strands of blue and green capiz shells. At the end of the night, they took home a cute bag of clownfish gummies with a blue & white striped seashell tag.

A piece of the multi-colored fabric was made into a curtain to hide extra drinks and equipment under the bar, and scans of the fabric were turned into custom napkin wraps and festive drink umbrellas. The blue and white floral fabric design was used for menus and signs placed thoroughout the party.

Dinner – with items like tuna ceviche, chilled avocado soup shooters, coconut-crusted shrimp and mojo-marinated fajitas – was piled on oh-so-tropical looking VerTerra disposable plates, and cool, minty watermelon mojitos were served up to beat the heat.

And that’s it! Hope you enjoyed all the caribbean goodness… it was a blast to create.
