Moving Forward With Blogging!

I have learned a lot about blogging since I last posted to this blog last. And I have put all the information I have learned into one blog. This blog used to be an old blog of mine called Create Blogs, but I have made a lot of changes to it including the name.

It is now called Build a Blog and I strongly recommend you take a look, as there is a lot of new information on the blog now, that would be very helpful to anybody who is starting with blogs, or who is a beginner blogger.

Time for a Change!

I have found that while trying different income streams I have gravitated to 3 in particular that can be used together, suit me best and that I enjoy the most. Because after all you aren’t going to get very far if you hate what you are doing.

So I am going to concentrate on Blogging, Adwords and Adsense and build my online activities around them. I already have a blog about Creating Blogs, and I am going to spend more time on that. also I am going to be starting a blog soon on Adwords and Adsense sharing how I use them and what information I have found useful.

So I will be finishing up this blog - Make Money Online to concentrate more on those specific subjects. Making Money Online can split you in too many directions, give you too many choices. I think you need to pick a stream and focus on it, to give it the attention it needs to grow.

Now true to form I have found another bargain, the price is $7, yes $7 - the price of a McDonald's meal! I have to say at 1st I had my doubts, ‘this can’t be any good for $7’, but actually it has some very good information and he shows you how to do it. For the price it’s great, and could possible give some ebooks a run for their money. I’ve seen a few of these $7 reports around, but this is the 1st one I have bought and it’s tempted me to buy some more. I like the no fluff get to the point approach. And if I miss a McDonald’s every time I buy one, it should do wonders for my diet!!!

Make Money Online with Adwords

The 1st way I used to try to make money online was Google Adwords. Not really having a clue what I was getting into and with an ebook tucked under my arm I set off on my journey!

I started promoting Affiliate products and got my 1st taste of the world that is Internet Marketing. I found it much harder going than I thought it would be, a definite challenge. I have had some success with Adwords, although not as much as I had hoped for. I searched around for information to help me, and although I did find a lot of really helpful stuff to make the campaigns better, I couldn’t find exactly what I needed. Which, the same as a lot of other people out there was ‘how do you find a profitable niche’ (in hindsight I should have looked at more than just that). So unfortunately I decided to put it to one side and try something else (chicken!).

But I really enjoyed using Adwords. The system itself is very easy to use and I noticed that recently Google has added a lot of new features. I have started to use it again, but this time to create traffic for my blogs and I am seeing it in a whole new light. It’s so different when you use Adwords for your own products like blogs. With affiliate products you send people to a page and if they don’t buy or sign up then that’s it. But with promoting your own blogs they may not buy anything that you recommend, but they are on your blog and if they like it, they may come back to see more, and that in itself can be more valuable!

This is not what I planned to post but thought I would mention this product launch that I have just heard about and bought. You may have heard of Chris McKeeney he’s the author of such ebooks as Adwords Miracle, Day Job Killer and Affiliate Project X, they all became best sellers and have been hugely talked about in internet marketing circles and beyond. To be honest I have never bought any of them, I’ve read a lot of reviews on them but I had recently bought a different ebook on affiliate marketing as they came out, (and being a skinflint didn’t want to shell out the $97).

Well he has recently launched a new one called The Affiliate Commandments that has caught my eye and you’ve guessed it, it was the price that drew my attention - $9.97. What can I say I am the eternal bargain shopper, wanting great quality for an even better price (and why not)!

To get hold of something Chris has written for such a low price did get me excited, if nothing else than to see what all the fuss was about. He has a reputation for doing things differently and making ridiculous amounts of money in the process. I have to say I wasn’t disappointed in only 16 pages he really gives you useful information and shows you how to use it. Also it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner because you get The Complete Beginner’s Guide To Affiliate Marketing as a bonus when you buy The Affiliate Commandments. It’s no fuss and straight to the point - really good stuff.

As he says, “The Commandments are hard and fast rules that I follow every day to bring in 5 figures each month from affiliate marketing.” And with a price like that I thought it was worth a look! But as ever there is a time limit on this offer, so if you are interested in finding out more I would go have a look now.

Make Money Online - Ultimate Wealth Package

When I started out looking for information on ways to make money online I found there was a lot to choose from. So which one do you pick, Adwords, Adsense, Blogs, Ebay, etc... But then I came across a site that showed you how to make money online with multiple income streams, it actually incorporated all of the above! It’s by Mark Warren and it’s called the Ultimate Wealth Package. He shows you how he earns huge amounts of money per month from multiple income streams. I admit I was intrigued and signed up (only $50 - roughly £25). I was feeling adventurous so I went for the VIP package as well.

There is an incredible amount of information that you have access to (I still haven’t made my way through all of it). But that is partly because Mark keeps adding new stuff. He gives details on 20 different income streams, plus articles, audio interviews, VIP bonus items, learning centre and support centre.

I think it is well worth the money and a look. I don’t use all the income streams, I picked the ones that suited me and that I thought would work best. I use the VIP bonus’s a lot (of which there are many - lots of software), like Article Submitter for my blogs and that retails at over $50 for a start! It’s a good system to use especially if you are starting out because it gives details and information on a lot of income streams in the one place (for the one price). So you can quickly work out what will work for you, rather than trawling through individual ebooks on the various different income streams which saves you time and money.

Added Subscription for Feed

I just thought I would point out that I have added an email subscription form for my feed. Also there are some feed readers on the left for subscription if you prefer them (thought I'd cover all bases). Just in case your not sure what that means, if you would like to subscribe to either of these, you will be updated via email or your feed reader when my blog has been updated. Handy if you like to follow what I am up to, or just enjoy the blog!!

Also while adding them I decided to change my template (as you do), if you're visiting for the first time I had the dark dots template. But I was getting fed up of the blue and those dots, hope it looks better, let me know?

Do you blog from a Mac?

Have you had problems in new Blogger.com with editing the blog template using Safari?

I have recently had these problems, it was a nightmare trying to move page elements around on my blog and I couldn’t edit colours of fonts, it was getting really frustrating.

So I went to Blogger for help, and after some digging, found out that Blogger won’t work with safari! But do not despair if you have a Mac because you can use Firefox, which is an alternative web browser that you can download from www.firefox.com (its free) and everything works fine. You could also use Internet Explorer but I prefer Firefox.

Its written by Mozilla and runs on Macs with OSX, my Mac is pretty old and it runs great. Its got lots of add-ons so you can personalise it, but I quite like the search engine feature, you can choose different search engines as your default through the toolbar at the top of the page, which makes it easy to flip from google to yahoo etc (handy if your doing research). It’s made my life a lot easier.

First of all you look at the different ways, also known as income streams to make money online e.g. adwords, blogs, adsense, ebay etc and choose one. You research all the information you can get your hands on, and find the best way of running it, you set it all up and sit back to wait for your piece of the ‘internet pie’ that you have been told about.

But you don’t get the results that you had hoped for, what do you do?

Well I don’t think this is unusual. The guru’s tell you, you can automate your system and start earning straight away, with only working a couple of hours per week. Maybe that can happen but in my experience it doesn’t, so don’t worry. I find you have to work hard at it, like any other business and have a strategic plan, wait until your first income stream is profitable before trying different ones. Test different ideas for adverts and placement, when you find one that works test some more. The information out there is vast and changing all the time, try to keep up with it and research your market. The key to making money online is the same as any business, it takes hard work and good planning.

But the most important thing is to stay positive and believe that it will work, don’t panic, keep testing and stay motivated (which is easier said than done). Some Guru’s do tell you this, but it never sunk in with me until I had figured it out for myself! Please learn from my mistakes, and start your journey to make money online prepared for this. It will save you a lot of time and turmoil!

The good thing about blogging is its Free. You don’t need any special software or experience to set up a blog, you just need a topic or hobby that you are interested in, and it only takes about 10 minutes to create and set up a blog that could make money online. I went to Blogger.com to set up my blog, which is very easy to do. You are able to choose a template, add photos, place adverts, create posts and then edit it all through an easy to use interface, and they take care of the hosting - all for Free! (that's the bit I like).

Now, I had a blog set up and ready to go, but what do you do with it?
Its no good writing a blog if nobody can see it. But I had no idea how to get visitors to my blog?

That's where Blogging to the Bank came in. Rob (who wrote it) takes you through each step adjusting the settings, so the blog is set up for maximum benefit and is optimised for visitors. He even gives you screenshots to follow exactly what he is doing. He then tells you how to go about getting visitors to your blog, and how you can make money online from your blog, all with the necessary links for easy access.

The book is straight to the point, a very unusual thing for an ebook to do, you normally have a load of marketing hype that frustrates the life out of you, before you can get to the really useful stuff. Its only 39 pages long (a change from the 100’s of pages you normally have to wade through). So it doesn’t take long to read and you can start straight away, following the steps to his blueprint to making money online with blogs. I’ve found it to be very good value for money, a great book and a refreshing change.

Blogs have become a very important way to communicate and interact with a large amount of people that have a common interest. A blog is a website, like a personal diary where you can post pretty much whatever you like, anything from a political soapbox to your own personal thoughts. There are millions of blogs, and the best part is they are free!

I had no idea what a blog was when I started or how to make money online with one. I searched around a bit for some information to get me started. I found an ebook by Rob Benwell that I liked called Blogging to the Bank. I chose it mainly because it is priced very reasonable (only have a small budget - roughly halve $ price to get pounds) and it is a step by step blueprint of how he makes money online with blogs. Seeing as I knew nothing about blogs this seemed like a good place to start!

I have to say it is a great guide, he tells you exactly where to go and what to do, he’s straight to the point. Setting it up was very easy and you see the results instantly, he also shows you how to get traffic to your blog which at the end of the day is the most important thing. As well as the book you get bonuses including a newsletter and even his email address if you have any problems.

I am a visual person so having a step by step guide to follow was great. I needed some solid, helpful information to show me easily how to create and manage blogs, how you can use them to make money online and how to get them seen. I was lucky enough to find all that in Blogging to the Bank.

Make Money Online?

We are lucky to be living in an age where the internet is so versatile, easy to use, informative and is constantly improving. Giving us never before seen opportunities to reach people like never before! It truly is the world wide web, it doesn’t matter where you live or who you are, you can contact anybody, anywhere, anytime. The internet seems to be constantly expanding and new opportunities arising all the time, you can pretty much find out anything, about any subject if you look hard enough!

So this begs the question can you make money online?

Yes you can, and some people make big money online. There are 100’s of ways to make money online, anything from Google Adwords, Google Adsense, Blogs, Paid Surveys, Ebay and Ezines to name but a few! At first it can all seem a little daunting, it was to me. Which one do you choose? There are so many, and they all promise fantastic results right away!

Be careful, read through all the information before you make a decision, these people are very good marketers. I got drawn in by the sales pages and believed I could earn tons of money by the end of the 1st month! (ok I know I’m completely gullible). I was a complete beginner, so I found it took longer than what they said. I started a little tentitively, just because there is so much information to take in and you’ve never done it before! At the end of the day eveybody is different and handles it in there own way. I don’t mean they won’t make you money, it just didn’t happen that quickly for me, you never know it might for you.

Now I am not trying to put you off. I really enjoy working on the internet, its great fun and very rewarding. I knew nothing before I started, and found it was very easy to start with absolutely no experience, and it is easy to find help if your not sure what you are doing. But it is a learning curve, and it can be steep, this was the first part of that curve for me. At least after reading this you will not make the same mistake making money online.
