White dress w//Sequin Sleeves: ASOS

An ode to Disco, with it's little sequin sleeves! And to Disco Baby, all snuggled up in mamas belly under the marshmallow dress... and to my new body!!! "Hello twins!" I can't believe I'm in my final trimester now... I'm literally itching to meet little one! (Fellow pregnant ladies// mamas out there- you know what I'm saying!) I must say, my desire to be able to actually wear these floaty white things with pretty sequin sleeves whilst I expand another three times over is even bigger than me right now- Don't be fooled... this was a ten minute try me on and hope for warmth sort of occasion!!! As I type this... the relentless New York snow just keeps falling! White dresses please, not white weather! No more white weather!!!! I'm officially starting the maternity designing now... it's on! I'm excited! So is bump! He's a' kicking!!! :))) I hope you are all well Ponies! I miss Ponying about... for now I continue to waddle!!! xx <3 Preggers the marshmallow mamma!

A little insight into why Disco Pony has come to a gallant halt... Mama Disco's making a little Disco Baby!
I've realized during these past few months, as my belly gets rapidly larger...along with the rest of me, that there is a MAJOR need for more beautiful and practical maternity clothes for ladies who don't want to necessarily dress in their PJ's just to be comfortable while we bulge! SO... You can guess what's ticking through my mind whilst I sit here getting fatter and closer to those endless sleepless nights and all that good stuff! Disco Pony Maternity!!!! It has to be done! And then... Disco Pony Baby! Thats been on the cards for a while now... this is just an extra push (excuse the pun!!!) into getting the creative juices flowing in that particular direction (so many puns!!!)!!! xx

Whilst perusing Disco Pony's favorite "Foam" magazine, I came across this completely rad article about "Roam Hawaii" and their mobile fashion store! Completely fell in love with this idea- being the nomad, surfer enthusiast (enthusiast- not expert!!!) that I am. Mobile Disco... maybe I could have a real Disco Pony pulling my Disco cart around Brooklyn?!! hmmmmmm!

All this picture is missing is my Mobile Disco Truck parked up the beach...and a Pony, oh and the Peace sunglasses!!!

Hi Ponies & Fellow Designers!
So... My beautiful friend Lauren is working at Bloc Hotels, and they have decided to hold an exciting competition to have their uniforms designed by talented individuals in lieu of wearing the usual, boring corporate suits of most hotels. Asides from the excitement of seeing their designs on the hotel staff, the winning designer will win a gorgeous Samsung TV, get a free nights stay for two at the Bloc Birmingham, as well as being included in a ton of marketing coinciding with their new openings in 2013!
I'd personally be really proud to have been a part in smoking up the hotel worlds uniforms... Being the Simon Jersey of the grounded world- sounds pretty good to me!
So, any Ponies out there in the mood to shake up the uniform world a bit... GO FOR IT! I sure will be! xx

With Brocade being the fabric of choice for the AW season... I've been finding it hard not to do a bit of comparative study of my Disco Pony brocade metallic skirts against others out there... Net-A-Porter have, as ever the most luxe pieces up for grabs... but with a price tag of 430 pounds... a baffling 5 times the Disco Pony price, it's almost impossible to understand how a mass produced item can cost more than my hand made piece. I guess that's all down to advertising! Let's here it for my bloggers!!! <3

I literally couldn't have styled this piece better! My favorite skirt, the only thing I actually have stock of in fact... Looking so so completely gorgeous on their beautiful leggy model, and THOSE SHOES! I DIE! I need them in my life right now! I'm so stocked that D:Fuse shot their AW/12 campaign using a Disco Pony piece! I can't wait to get my hands on a pair of those white booties so I can rock my Brocade floral skirt with them... and a nice soft grey knit when it gets a little cooler! This dress is the one piece out of all my designs that I know with some serious certainty will be in my closet forever... and won't get even the tiniest bit outdated. I also love how it adapts so well to my living out of suitcases lifestyle... for it never crinkleth!!! Fold it up, roll it up, wrap it up, throw it about, leave it in a heap at the end of your bed for weeks... it will always look elegant and as new the moment you hang it up/ throw it on. That's my kind of dress right there! Designed with a sleek slit up one side, and in a one size fits all approach, I adore how I can hand this piece over to anybody and it fits them like a dream- all slouchy and grungy on the skinnier lady, and beautiful fitted on a curvier one... Each girl brings something new to this piece. It's undoubtedly my all time favorite dress. :)
Once I'm back up and running I can't wait to show you the array of colors this piece comes in... The black is seriously breathtaking!

I'm still working my way through my $10 British ELLE- savoring each page! Nothing beats British Elle!!! Except the NYC price! Owch!

I'm not sure I could physically design a non-printed trouser... Every pair I've ever made bar one Crepe Silk pair has fully embraced bold prints and patterns, and I LOVE them! The best thing about a pair of printed pants, is that they do pretty much all the work for you... all a girl needs is a nice classic white crepe silk shirt or vest top and wham bam thank you maaam! Unless of course you want to do some serious print on print action... in which case I fully condone grabbing the matching shirt to ones pants and jumping up on stage andddd... being a rock star! Yep... that's very much the thing to be done in prints! ;)
