Alfa Romeo Car Meet

2021-06-15T22:42:00.003+03:00

Hi everyone!

What a great car meeting we had the other weekend. We sponsored the SoCal Alfa Romeo's car group where about 30 cars showed up at the event. It was a blast to see so many of the Giulias with all the bells and whistles. I enjoyed the drive, meeting new people and of course creating new content for my Instagram page @alfasonly

We will be going to a Porsche event in New Mexico very soon. Will be fun to see that part of the country and drive around. Stay tuned for more!

TULUM OR BUST

2021-06-03T01:14:00.002+03:00

Well, a trip to Tulum went a little differently this time than the last one.

We left on a Wednesday night, took the red-eye flight, and were supposed to be in Tulum by Thursday. We arrived in Tulum on Friday, because the flight from Mexico City got delayed I don't know how many times. We were able to spend time in Mexico City though, which was super cool! I have only been to the airport before, so it was nice to walk around and sightsee.

My husband's grandparents are originally from Mexico City and most of his family is from there, so he is familiar with the city. After 6 hours in Mexico City, we got back to the airport for more delays, haha.

Finally, we arrived in Merida, which is 3h from Tulum, and spent a night there because no one had the energy to drive through the jungle at night. You also don't want to travel through the jungle at night.. (just saying)

Merida was beautiful! We had a delicious dinner in a local restaurant and spend the night in a hotel so we would be ready to go the next day.

FYI, the delays and sitting around made my stomach so upset throughout the trip, so make sure to pack some medicine for your upset belly in the case of long delays.

Tulum was beautiful as always, the only thing that was not so great, the beach fronts were filled with seaweed. We were not able to swim in the ocean, but it was still very nice to relax on the beach.

I love the bohemian style used in restaurants and in boutiques in Tulum. People are nice and margaritas are excellent. My favorite margarita is the Cadillac margarita with Don Julio Reposado on the rocks. My favorite tequila to sip is Clase Azul Reposado, it tastes amazing! Each bottle is hand-made and hand-painted by artisans in a small village in Mexico, so each one is a unique piece.

Try it and let me know if you like it as well. The food was amazing as always, everything tastes fresh and delicious.

One of the most amazing parts of the trip was swimming through the caves in the cenotes. I was nervous at first, but once we were in the water I felt amazing! We saw underwater caves, bat caves, and more! Such a unique experience, can't wait to scuba dive next!

Coming back, of course, we had another delay. My husband was witty and we rented a car again for the 3 hours we had left for the return flight. We saw this amazing beach called Progreso. The beach was clear of seaweed as it was a different sea - the Gulf of Mexico. When we were in Tulum, we were by the Caribbean beach. Even just that 1 hour at that beach, gave another beautiful experience to our trip.

This was definitely an adventure this time, but we all enjoyed it and want to go back.

I'll post more photos in my next post.

Aloha

2021-04-29T02:45:00.004+03:00

Aloha everyone!

Who has been to Hawaii before? We visited Oahu, and it was amazing! Especially the Northside of the island. The surfer's beaches are super cool and the fresh pineapple - YUM!

The Sun is super strong in Hawaii, unless you are really tan like the locals, you must re-apply SPF constantly. I burned just a little, but it went over quick. My skin has changed a lot since moving to San Diego. If I would've visited Hawaii while still living in Estonia, I would've died of sunburn!

We went snorkeling, it was my first time in the ocean. I have a bit of a fear of the deep sea and heights, but I overcame my fear and it felt amazing! I would rather live in the ocean than on Earth, to be honest, it is so peaceful down there. All you can hear are turtles sing and the sweet tunes of the ocean. I am terrified of sharks, but being in the water actually made me hope that I could see one - not this time.

Anyway, it was a beautiful quick trip, and hopefully can visit more parts of Hawaii very soon!

Hugs to everyone!

Zion National Park

2020-07-01T21:45:00.004+03:00

Hi loves!

As it turns out, I am the worst blogger ever, because I don't blog anymore. I miss it though!

I don't know what made me stop, I guess life is just busy, but never too busy to blog right?!

I am sorry!

It's been crazy times since March, still working from home and doing the best I can to stay safe from Covid-19. Unfortunately, we had to experience death from Covid-19 in our family, so I want to remind you to be extra safe out there. I know some things are hard to keep up with, but staying clean and protected shouldn't be new news to anyone.

I am very grateful for still having a job and able to enjoy life during this time, but it hasn't been all marshmallows and pink skies.

I did turn 30 just last weekend, so cheers to the next decade ahead of me and to all my dear ones back at home in Estonia. I miss you all So much!

After my surprise birthday party on June 20th, we went to Utah. My husband had business over there, and while working from home it doesn't really matter where I work from. Got to see beautiful views of Zion - the National Park in Utah and experience small-town characteristics in the USA.
My experiences with small towns are mostly from Estonia and they are one of the best experiences!

This was definitely a familiar yet new feeling. I do love to see cows, horses, and sheep passing by while you drive, but Americans are just a bit different than Northern Europeans.
I do want to say, I think Zion is more beautiful than Grand Canyon in my opinion. The way you can drive through the park and experience one of the most amazing views - phenomenal!

What has been the best experience during these uncertain times for you?

Hugs!

(All pictures are originals, no time for photoshop.)

Happy puppy!

Got lost for a second on a dirt road :D

Cheers to one of the most beautiful parks!

4 YEARS IN THE U.S.

2019-09-13T22:25:00.003+03:00

Hi Loves,

I am sorry for not been blogging this Summer, I have been focusing on other things in my life.

I owe you a post about Europe as well, but first things first.

In this picture, exactly 4 years ago today I arrived in the U.S. for the first time. It was a bliss to see actual palm trees growing in a natural environment in St. Petersburg, Florida. I spent a week in Florida until I officially moved to California, San Diego to be exact.

At this moment, I had no idea what was waiting for me. I had no idea how the real American culture is because most of everything you see in the movies is just Hollywood.

I didn’t know when people greeted you with “Hi, how are you?”- they are actually interested having a conversation with you. I didn’t know how firmly Americans appreciate their traditions and believe in their country. I sure didn’t know that Trump was going to be the president (but who knew that anyway). There was so much I didn’t know but oh boy how much I’ve learned these past 4 years. The list of ‘I didn’t know’ goes on, but I’ll tell you a bit about the things I have learned.

I’ve learned to have conversations with random people in the grocery stores and on the street just because. I have learned to open up more and to become a softer human being. I’ve learned to be less direct, because it can be translated as arrogant. I’ve learned to enjoy driving to places because it takes a drive to get to anywhere in California, even to the grocery store. I’ve learned not to make unexpected U-turns in traffic.

I’ve learned the importance of Family and big family events. I’ve learned that San Diego has the best Mexican food in the country, and not to eat too much junk, because it will give you cellulite.

I’ve learned to drink all wine, because in California wine is necessary to cope with everything previously mentioned, but let’s be honest, that applies to the rest of the world as well. ;)

I’ve learned to forgive easily because everyday is a new day.

As I could go on and on with both of the lists, what’s the most important thing I’ve learned so far?

I’ve learned to be more patient and kind because of the people around me.

I’ve learned how patience and kindness will take you farther than anything else in life. I am still learning, but am proud of myself and the woman I have become. 🥂

Waiting for July

Hi loves,

Exactly in 1 month I will be flying to Europe. I am so excited and anxious at the same time.

Can't wait to see my family, my friends and their babies. Can't wait to eat and drink everything I have missed. 🤪 Stay tuned!

Can't wait to see you all!

HUGS.

I've been waiting to say this forever, hah!

I feel like everything comes to life again in Spring and people start glowing more.

I forgot to share my big news btw, I am finally going back to Estonia in July. I'll be staying for 3 weeks and hope to see everyone who I've missed so much!

Can't wait!

Have a wonderful week.

Humpday

2019-03-13T18:33:00.002+02:00

Hi loves,

How are you? Did you celebrate International Women's Day last Friday?

I took my friend out to a winery to enjoy each others company, we had a great time.

In the States the Women's Day is not celebrated as back in Eastern Europe. Over there, we celebrate all women, including mothers, grandmothers, daughters and girlfriends.
Men and women give flowers, postcards with poetry, chocolate, and other pleasant gifts to their mothers, wives, grandmothers, sisters and daughters. Some men like to undertake all household duties on this day - starting with washing dishes and ending with cooking dinner and looking after children, so that women can enjoy a full day of rest. By the way, in Russia it's a non-working day. Isn't that lovely?

Happy Humpday you all!

Hugs.

How's your February going?

I think the month of February goes by so fast you feel like it's March already. I can't wait for Spring, it's been unusually cold in South California. Yes, it gets cold here too, haha!

HUGS to you all.

Hello loves,

We went to Mexico twice last month. Once with our mothers and the second time we celebrated New Years Eve with friends/family. We love to visit the wineries, eat good food and relax.

Since Mexico is so close to us, we don't take the drive for granted. When returning, border crossing might be a long wait sometimes, but it's worth the trip.

Sharing some photos from December.

Hugs.

Cheers to 2019!

Happy New Year

2019-01-06T21:55:00.001+02:00

Happy New Year loves!

As you know, I am the worst with timing. It's been a very crazy schedule until now.

My mom was visiting from Estonia and it was constant activities until today.

Right now, I am laying on the couch, drinking my coffee and pretending to watch football with the boys. This weekend is time to relax and rewind.

It was so nice to have time with my mom, I hadn't seen her since the wedding. She stayed for 2 weeks and left right before the New Years.

This Summer I am planning to visit Estonia, it's been over 3 years!!! My husband has never been to Northern Europe, so it will be a great experience for him as well. Can't wait!

We spent New Years Eve in Mexico, did you do anything fun?

Wishing you a year filled with great experiences, new opportunities and most important of all,

Love.

Big Hugs for 2019!

POSITIVE VIBES ONLY

2018-11-16T19:05:00.000+02:00

Hi loves,

Sending positive energy to all of you.

I am feeling emotional but grateful this week for everything I have.

It is so sad how people have lost their lives and homes due to the fires outside Los Angeles and Northern California.

Last year we had a similar situation with the fires here in San Diego and we were ready to evacuate, with luggage ready to go and waiting anxiously. Fortunately for us, the fires never spread to our area, and I am hoping the same for this year.

I’m truly wishing for rain. Rain that the Earth has never seen before. Rain so hard, it would nurture the ground of California and save us from losing our homes and loved ones because of drought and heavy winds.

Stay safe.

Big Hugs.

Hi Loves,

I realized that I haven't blogged since September, so embarrassing!

I guess I have been enjoying life and Fall because it's my favorite season. Although it doesn't get that cold in California, I still put my mind to it. It's so funny when I have my fall boots on and people walk around in flip flops, like really!? California is still too casual for me, I'd love to dress up every day, but then people look at you like you are weird. I miss Europe!
I can't wait to visit home next year, I finally received my Green Card and am able to travel again. YAAAY!
We went to Mexico last weekend just to feel the freedom, hah. I will be blogging about Mexico on my next post. Right now I want to share some photos my friend took off me.
She came all the way from Estonia to take pictures of me and Californian sunsets. ;)

Talk to you soon.
Hugs.

Hi loves,

Is everyone enjoying their September?

I can't believe how fast Summer went by. Well, officially it is still here, although it's Summer in Southern California most of the year.

Last Saturday we had fun in San Diego downtown with couple of friends. Had an amazing dinner and went to couple of clubs. We don't go to San Diego downtown too often, so it's a great change of scenery.

Also, if there's a bathroom looking like this, pictures need to be taken.

Have a wonderful weekend you all.

Hugs.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me prov'd,
I never writ, nor no man ever lov'd.

Hi loves,

We spent last weekend in Las Vegas celebrating my friends bachelorette party.

Vegas is always fun and the highlight of this trip was the pool party in Wet Republic.

We were having tons of fun listening to Calvin Harris and partying with English girls.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but here are some flashbacks.

Have a great week you all!

Hello loves,

Hope everyone is enjoying their Summer! It is beautiful in California right now.

I wanted to share my birthday memory with you. My husband surprised me with a weekend trip to Sequoia forest for my 28th birthday.

We left Friday afternoon and it took us about 6 hours to get there. We had all day Saturday to enjoy the biggest trees in the world. We headed back on Sunday and stopped for other sightseeings as well.

Sequoia is a beautiful place, it made me feel like home. The woods are like in Estonia, except for the huge mountains.

Oh, we found a small scorpion next to the bed on a Friday night. I was pretty freaked out since I don't think I've ever seen them out in the nature like that. Good thing we caught Apollo before anything happened, it would've ruined the whole weekend, damn scorpions, hah.

If anyone is considering Sequoia for your next travel destination, I truly recommend it. It is a wonderful place to take some time off and rewind. I can't wait to visit Yosemite as well.

California is one of a kind place.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs.

Hi loves,

Hope you are doing well.

Last Saturday we had dinner with friends and family in La Jolla.
La Jolla is one of my favorite places in California so far.

Our friends moved from Spain to here and cooked Spanish food for us.

The food was super, but the most wonderful thing was the view of the sunset.

Thank you guys.

Have a great weekend!

Hey guys,

How do you feel about helicopters?

We spent my husbands 30th birthday up in the air.

I was a bit scared for my first ride, but after 10 minutes, I was ready to skydive.

All the fear was gone and it actually felt better than being on a bigger airplane.

We flew over Orange County and Los Angeles.

Waved to the traffic jams and glanced over Beverly Hills. I am sure there will be a footage of us on some reality TV show, hah!

What a beautiful flight.

Cheers guys!

Hi loves,

I wish this weekend could have lasted an entire week.
Palm Springs is a neat place to visit in spring and the weather was already hot in April.
I would die there in the summer.

We had great food, visited an art museum and relaxed.

Loved it!

Hi loves,

Hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family.

I am excited for tomorrow though. We are heading to Palm Springs for 2 days. We are celebrating our First Wedding Anniversary.

Yeah, I capitalized it because I am still new at this, and sometimes shocked with the thought of being married - in a good way in case you were wondering. ;)

There's something else I've been wanting to write about.

My friends are often telling me how convenient and beautiful my life seems in California,

when actually our family is dealing with cancer, stroke, alzheimer's and addiction problems.

I am not going to elaborate on family members and want to keep some privacy, but I will tell you that living in California doesn't make your life easier or more comfortable.

There's everyday life struggles just like anywhere else.

Just because I tend to post beautiful and positive things, doesn't mean we aren't going through struggles.
I always believe that the best days are ahead of us and the quote " You never know what people are going through and sometimes the people with the biggest smiles are struggling the most, so be kind" is not appreciated enough.

It is more convenient to cry under a palm tree though, lol.

Love you all, Happy FRIDAY!

HUGS.

Grandma is giving you a wink.

In case you need glasses, Apollo is on my right side.
