New Beginnings and Bitter Goodbyes

If you have noticed it YES! I finally changed this blog's interface! after so many freakin' years I have decided to yes - just scrap the whole format I had before and start fresh.

Why?

I just decided to keep everything clean and minimal for now. I am not really sure yet where to go from here.

I had a very interesting conversation a couple of days ago with a friend over some cocktails about life. I am not really into talking deep about my feelings to anyone - but somehow it was just right.

We had a conversation about how my life could've been if I didn't left my job as a teacher, would I be where I am now if I didn't taken the leap of faith? My friend said it was the best thing I could've done in my life.

Not that I hated my job as a teacher because I loved every second of it...I didn't really felt that I fulfilled my purpose even if I have loved my job. I felt I was stuck in that place teaching kids over and over then looking over the brightly lit Ortigas Skyline at night wishing for more than that.

The hardest part in our conversation was when he asked me if I have moved on from what I was then to what I am now.

I honestly stopped midway from drinking my cocktail when he asked me that. It was hard to say because I know I have changed, but I don't think the teacher inside me has moved on yet.

I treat what I do as like what it was when I was a teacher - a whole day filled with lessons to teach you guys. It seems weird I know, but I think I haven't moved on from being a teacher.

But I had to say goodbye to that persona of mine - Teacher Alice has to say goodbye. I left Saeha in 2014 but I am only saying goodbye to Teacher Alice today because I feel that she has already served her purpose. She had been one of my different 'personalities' because most of you girls really do learn something from me and I am eternally thankful for your kind words.

But starting today, You will see more of my adventurous side instead of the girl that hides from the light as much as she can.

I'll be posting more here now so expect more of this kind of posts because I do feel better when I share to you guys things I think of. It makes me feel better too!

But of course make up will still be part of our lives in this part of the internet and I want to hear from you! Comment below things you'd like me to review and I'll try my best to let you guys know what I think of them.

Being Free Once again.

Its been a while.

I know.

Its like meeting up with an old friend again.

I missed you to be honest.

I don't know why I left blogging. Maybe because of pressure? Stress? Personal problems? All of the above? I am still boggled why I suddenly left without notice.

I've kept quiet for a while because of some things I need to hide and I think now is the right time to let them out. I think its really time because I am finally free from the shackles I was held in for a long time.

To be honest, This blog is supposed to be an outlet for me and my problems while I enjoy make up and knowing more about it. But somehow I got lost.

Thankfully I found some new people that helped me get back up from being dropped. I won't say who they are but they know that they are the reason I am back and still struggling to be back on my feet.

Thank you guys. I have found my way back to loving to writing again. To expressing myself without hesitation again. To be alive again.

Words are not enough to express my gratitude to you guys. All I can think of is thank you and weird enough I am crying while typing this.

To that one person who trusted me the most - Thank you. I cried when you told me you believed in me the most to be honest because the last time I heard that was when my papa was still alive and it felt like my papa hugged me because he knows now that I am in safe hands.

I promise that this blog will be up and running. I am planning on revamping everything. There will still be beauty stuff here but I promise to bring you guys content that is not manufactured by another person but by yours truly.

You will see the knitty gritty parts of my brain again. Its weird but being free felt better this time. I feel contented. I don't really care anymore if people read my blog or not. I just want to write again.

To freedom and loving life again.

BIG CHANGES

Hey guys!

I know its been a while since I've written something here and I know IT SUCKS.

I actually missed writing on my blog because its a form of therapy for me but after EVERYTHING that had happened I just decided to stop for a while because I didn't felt comfortable and just wanted to step away from the blogging world.

And I've decided to come back.

But why though?

Because now I feel more at ease with myself. And also I've finally decided the path I want to take in this platform.

Before I would always had articles written for brands and companies which to be honest I wasn't that comfortable in talking about so I just decided to make this blog my sanctuary where I can write my feelings, experiences and not have deadlines from brands.

To be honest, there isn't really anything wrong about that, but if the only reason I'm writing is about a brand I would choose not to write at all. I will still be making reviews and other articles that I love to share to all of you.

So I'm making a big change in this blog.

Instead of my moniker photoescape I'll be changing it to my real name - Alice Mate.

Its a decision I've been thinking for a while and I think this is the best time to do it.

I do need to start from square one but that is actually better than sticking to a monicker...right?

I want this page to be more than just a lifestyle based blog but moreover a LIFE-style blog. Something I would proudly show everyone who the writer is, not just a side of myself on the internet.

So if you are new here - Hi, my name is Alice and welcome to my blog.

I'll be doing small changes in the next few days so please forgive the messiness since I'm still trying to get used to all the editing and filtering from this part on. But I hope you stay along for the journey.

Photoescape Reviews: Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub For Men (AND YES I TRIED THIS)

Last Christmas my mom's friend gave this to me. I don't know if I should be insulted or annoyed.

(NOTE: THERE ARE NOT PICTURES IN THIS POST BECAUSE MY LAPTOP GOT REFORMATTED BY ACCIDENT. BUT WILL TRY TO FIND A WAY TO GET THE PICTURES UP AS SOON AS I CAN.)

Clearly you guys know that I am of the female species. So when she gave this to me I was like...yeah...thank you tita!

But inside I was fuming that hell had no chance in being hotter than my head. Because it clearly says this is for men - am I a man??

But since she gave this to me I might as well try it right?

Girl why?!

This is not available in Avon Philippines which to be honest THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS MEN!

I will start this review by saying this is purely from my experience in using this product and I still think Avon is a great company the produces amazing products so here goes.

So according to the website, this is an effective creamy scrub with Pore Firming Technology, lifts away pore-clogging dirt and excess oil without over drying. Formulated with Eucalyptus and Witch Hazel to cleanse and refresh.

Some of its benefits are:

Exfoliating face scrub that contains scrubbing grains that lift away pore-clogging dirt and excess oil.
non-comedogenic
dermatologist tested

The Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub For men is designed for men which clearly I disregarded because this was given to me. I have actually used some scrubs in the past designed for men and they worked for my skin amazing in making my face less oily and also reducing my pores. This one wasn't really doing great things to my skin though.

This is a scrub cleanser so I use this every other day. I do like that it has a cooling sensation but after washing my face it actually made my skin feel like it was sprayed with dry ice. There was the tightening sensation afterwards then replaced again with the tightening of my skin. It felt uncomfortable that I had to run to my room to immediately apply my toner and moisturizer.

Immediately a few days of using this product I do see some good and bad things happening to my skin. Let's start with the good parts:

I see that my skin is less oily after using this.
Noticeably my face seemed brighter due to getting the clogged dirt out of my face
My face looked fresh throughout the day.

But with good things, there were bad things:

Didn't really made my pores smaller. I can still see them when I look in the mirror.
It felt uncomfortable by the end of the day.
I broke out immediately.

I was a bit disappointed with this product but I know I had to lower my expectations a bit since this was specified for men. But there are some women, like myself that actually prefer using these kinds of products because our skin needed a little extra care in the exfoliating department.

Overall, I do not like this product. I regret using this product because it just made me break out more. I like the cooling sensation but that was just about the only thing I liked about this product. The feeling after washing my face was just too much to handle for my skin that I would rather just stick to my all time favorite scrub even if that doesn't have the cooling sensation.

How to Move on from a Toxic Relationship ( The Healthy Way)

It is true that the older you get, the wiser you become. I admit that when I was younger I did things that I am not supposed to do. I was able to learn from these experiences and accept that I am just like anybody else - I am human, capable of making great things in life, but also capable of committing mistakes and getting hurt.

And one thing I learned is to be a better person, you have to let go of toxic people and situations you are in. I will tell you some things I have learned to move on in a healthy way from a toxic relationship. This can be a toxic friendship to even toxic family members (Don't deny we all have one in our lives!)

1. Define Toxic
You have to define first if it was a toxic relationship to begin with. You would know if it is one when it is like a pattern that happens frequently with you and that person. Would you always get into arguments out of petty things and the argument was not resolved? Are you still happy in the relationship? Does it give you personal growth?

These questions come in mind immediately when you assess the relationship. Its normal to know the state of your relationship because if it is going nowhere its better that you break up instead of hurting each other more.

2. Grief.
It is okay to grieve over a failed relationship. It is totally normal. Being sad about something is not going to make you into a horrible person. My therapist told me that grief is part of the process and it is normal.

You can cry and stay in bed but limit yourself because life has to go on.

Personally, I've learned to grief at night before I go to bed. I know it sounds like I am scheduling it, but I find that releasing all the pent up anger before I go to bed makes me sleep better because I've released all the negativity that might stop me from a good night of sleep.

3. Socialize.
As they say - When a door closes on you, expect a new door to open or a window. Learn to re-socialize yourself. Meet new people, acquire new hobbies and just live again in a new place in your life. When I was moving on from a heart break, I met new people in my life which were absolutely amazing.

One way for me to move on is meet new people. I would usually ask my friends to bring me along so I don't feel clouded by my thoughts and I push myself to start conversation with other people.

I may be outgoing but I have my limitations, so pushing past my comfort zone is quite surprising especially when you meet new people in the process.

4. Its okay to reminisce.
Remembering the past is perfectly normal. You had good times with this person so remembering good memories is okay. Don't be too hard on yourself in forgetting them because the more you force yourself to forget them, the harder it will be for you to move on.

Just give yourself a reminder that this person was a part of your life one time and its time to move on.
I know its hard to do - even I had to face that reality when I was moving on from a previous relationship but this gave me hope that in time I will meet someone better for sure.

5. Love yourself more.
I will not get tired in stressing this - Love yourself more. The reason for that is in the process of leaving that toxic relationship, it can also mean you lost yourself in the process so make sure to give yourself the time to move on and be on your own.

I knew a lot of girls that are into moving on by entering a new relationship which makes that relationship into its predecessor - a toxic one!

I was also like that when I was younger, but I realized that I am hurting another person because I haven't resolved my issues on my own to let them in. I am basically hurting another human being because of my insecurities and bitterness from my previous relationship, so I decided that I needed to be my own person first to enter a new relationship.

Here is a bonus tip!

6. Its okay to entertain potential partners, but let them know that you are not ready yet.

I know it sounds weird, but sometimes the right person might come in the least time you expect them to be so be open for potential partners that will accept your good and bad side.

To know if they are in for the long haul is when you show them your scars and your vulnerability. If they can accept that, they can be a new part of your life.

If you are thinking of leaving a relationship that can be toxic I hope these helped you in defining and also moving on from it.

Elite Aerial Experience

Exercise and me don't jive...it just doesn't go well! But trying out new stuff is what I actually like so when I got invited to try Aerial Hoops at Elite Aerial studio I am quite excited and nervous at the same time.

Excited because its an activity I have only seen on television and performances, Nervous because I might die falling from it - Just thinking the worst case scenario guys don't think it actually happened to me (duh)

Elite Aerial studio is actually near my house here in Quezon City. Its located in Maginhawa st. which is a known destination for foodies.

Okay now to the whole experience. We started with stretching to be able to do the stunts on the aerial hoops which is basically cardio on steriods when I was doing it. I have said earlier that I don't like high intensity workouts but I stuck on it like a trooper and did what I can. I liked that some of the stretches at first involved a bit of yoga and it also incorporated the pole and the other tools for aerial stunts so we can get started in incorporating it in our exercise.

Now onto the aerial hoops, Ms. Aneshka or Teacher Nesh taught us the basics of getting into the hoop and also the moves which looked complicated but in reality its actually not. The whole idea of Aerial Hoops is to be able to use your body to balance yourself inside the hoop.

I was one of the last people to do it - WHY? because I am scared! I almost had an anxiety attack seeing the other bloggers going at it like it was a walk in the park! You girls do remember that I pack on a bit more weight so if I fell its probably messier - I'm just kidding! There are foams under the hoops so its safe for beginners.

Now onto that, I actually got cramps the first time but teacher Nesh really pushed me to try harder and honestly I felt like a feather. Its exciting, exhilarating and one of a kind. I can never imagine myself looking elegant in that kind of setting but I just felt free at that moment.

There is sort of an epiphany in myself at that moment that I might have been scared of the hoop not because of what can happen to me but what people will say about me - Its similar to my insecurity to be honest. I feel so insecure about myself sometimes because of my weight, I try to hide it by being confident in other areas of my life but in reality, if I don't face my insecurity I won't feel free.

So when I did all the moves on the hoop, I felt free. Not entirely because half of my spirit got drained away but I know that some of my insecurity went away because of the experience.

WHY PATCH TESTING IS IMPORTANT ( and you should do it too!)

Ola!

As a beauty blogger, I get tons of products to review on a daily basis and usually I do a patch test before actually using a product.

What is a patch test?

It's basically a simple procedure where you test it first on a small amount to see if you develop an allergic reation towards it.

Here is a short story before I tell you why this is important.

A couple of years ago, a company sent me a product to review with a full disclosure that if this gave an allergic reaction to me I won't post the review which they actually agreed on because I am willing to pay for the next batch of products I will order from their store if this product works out.

For the first couple of days I noticed red bumps on my skin which bothered me. I didn't actually analyzed it further until the third day of using the product - It made my skin itchy and red that I had to go to the doctor!

I don't have the pictures anymore because it was super bad which I also reported to the company since I know my skin is not sensitive but this broke me out. The company was actually nice enough to cover the doctor's fee although they didn't have to.

Since then my dermatologist told me to ALWAYS do a patch test.

And fortunately - rather unfortunately, a similar incident happened to me earlier which made me decide to write this for you girls.

HOW TO DO A PATCH TEST

The test is really easy to do since you just have to apply the product on the back of your non dominant hand or anywhere you want, cover it with a piece of cotton to protect it from the elements, pollutants and dirt, wait 24 hours and tada! You see the results!

You can also have a batch of patch test with a dermatologist done in case you have a bulk of items you are not sure if it gives you an allergic reaction.

The next picture you will see was the result of the patch test I did which was actually a moderately severe reaction which I won't reccomend you do girls.

This was only a few hours after the patch test was done and I was a littke bit disgusted by this because it looked like ants attacked my hand. The back of my hand also felt rough to the touch and had become rough. Its not a good sight but this is for science.

As of writing this post the redness of the skin have settled a little bit thanks to anti histamine that I took the night before. There is still some red bumps and its a bit itchy but according to my dermatologist I just need to let it subside on its own and frequently moisturize the area so the roughness wil go away.

WHY DO A PATCH TEST?

Doing this will save you the agony of going paranoid of what made you break out. Believe me that it will make you think backwards of what you did wrong to your skin.

It will also save your pocket because you don't have to spend to do this. You can try this out by using testers in the store and just walking around to know the difference.

This will save you time as well because knowing this method saves you from unnecessary visit to your dermatologist.

The Time I Almost Decided to Quit

This is a lengthy post so bear with me and I hope you learn something from this.

I almost decided to quit blogging some time ago - why?

Because I grew tired of the competition of being the first.

I grew tired to being in constant fear that my work is not good enough.

I grew tired of the constant thought of being irrelevant.

These are just some of the things that blurred the real reason why I started to write. Until one day I just decided to screw everything and go back.

This all started last year, when I started my bakery. I was immersed to the business more than writing, then came when my grandmother passed, I was down and didn't found a reason to even read. And then my uncle passed a few months ago. It was so unexpected that it also broke my spirit down.

I felt so uninspired to write for some time. I felt lost and confused if what I should be doing. I love writing but I dreaded the thought of not being relevant. I actually love the thought of just blurting out every thought I have.

So here I am - back at writing.

To be honest, there are milions of reasons why I decided to stop but life really has its way to bring me back to where I started.

And I decided to just let go of the pressures in the beauty blogging world. Honestly I have been so out of touch it doesn't bother me anymore. There is the occassional envy creeping in whenever I hear other bloggers getting invites to exclusive launches but who cares right?

I started not caring some time ago. And just went back to trying out products that I bought. I actually have a few I'll be sharing soon so I hope you girls are ready.

And if you are like me - lost and confused in the sea of beauty bloggers that get swarmed with products upon products to review- don't be. Let your own color shine and just roll with the punches.

But if you are in this industry because of the free PR packages, trust me sweetheart that burn out will overpower you like a match that was lit on a windy day.

I remember a 'friend' of mine rubbing all her event invites in my face the other week, I won't name you so you can at least save your face from how boastful you are because quite frankly I don't like that attitude of yours.

Getting invites is not everything about being a blogger in the beauty industry. And please spare me the agony of other girls in the industry that feel they are entitled because they are bloggers - stop. Just stop my dear.

I am basically ranting at this part because I am just through with the constant struggle to stay on top. Its tiring to put up a front to people and they think its a nice thing to look on fleek when in reality you are dying inside.

I do hope you guys learned something. And just have fun with writing. It really is fun if you think about it

I Have Been M.I.A. ( here is why)

I know I should have updated this blog site for a while but I have been so busy I actually forgot this. It sucks because I want this platform to be a source of Information but since I have been busy I neglected this site.

To my avid readers - thank you for continuing the support and love you have given me, some of you even transferred to my youtube channel since I have updated that more than this!

To those that have asked that if I have transferred to youtube in making content - yes, but not entirely. I will still post here but currently I am trying to bring back my live for writing and not feel so toxic about writing.

I have also been missing in action because I got a new dog.

Meet Nikko a.k.a. sharky

He is the source of my happiness now. Just like my other furbabies he is a total goof ball. He is a sweetheart too! Just look at his adorkable-ness (I know thats not a real word so shut up k? )

I have also been spending a lot of time with mudra so currentlu my hands and feet are tied so there isn't much of a thing called 'me time' because my mother is one of my priorities and I want her to be happy too!

So far since I am back in this platform expect more articles to come little by little.

Goodbyes and a Whole New World

I guess you are wondering what happened to me.

Well, A lot happened.

Some of them I would prefer not to talk about at the moment so I would ask for your understanding.

They are the reasons why I gave my blog a screeching halt for a few months.
And its hard because even if I am totally passionate in what I do, there are some things and circumstances that happened that will make you forget your passion for a while. And I have to take care of my responsibilities first because they are my top priority.

I do appreciate all the messages and emails I received when you guys thought I died (Please don't think that!) I was just in a phase in my life where I needed to step up for a while and assume the 'older' sibling for a while because as cold hearted people think I am - I HAVE A FREAKIN HEART!

I can't just leave my mother hanging without someone holding her back.

Yah. That is one of the reasons - My mother. I love her dearly and I would go above and beyond to make her happy as she would for me so I had to assume the role of being the leader role in our home.
Its hard to be honest. Its hard to be the 'responsible' one when in fact I am the youngest and probably the one that effed up in life - well big news for YOU I didn't! haha! But seriously I needed to be the adult at home during the time my mother needed me the most.

And now that I am able to manage all the responsibilities she gave me along with some projects I have with the Kissable Vlog Squad (I will tell you more about them soon!) I have more time in writing!

So expect a lot of detailed product reviews and other things uploaded on my blog!

I am so happy to be back to be honest because I just miss writing. I miss YOU and thank you so so much for all the understanding and support you guys gave me during the time I needed to assess myself.

Moto Tourism Council Joins Sillag 2018 Celebration

Earlier this month, Moto Tourism Council (MTC) joined in the celebration of Poro Point’s Sillag Festival 2018 in La Union by forming a unity ride that started in Manila and ended with a luncheon treat at the baywalk of Poro Point Freeport Zone. A total of 17 members participated in the unity ride from Manila showing the joy, safety and fun of motorcycling plus the beauty of the various provinces that they have passed by.

Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Wanda Corazon Tulfo Teo has approved the formation of the Moto Tourism Council (MTC) that will draft the Moto Tourism campaign plan aimed at boosting motorcycle travel in the country, and eventually generate additional revenues for the tourism sector. A thrust that Assistant Secretary Frederick Alegre himself supports, since he is a rider himself. According to him, the MTC is aimed to show not only the beauty of certain parts of the country but the entirely of it. From Luzon to Mindanao, using the Philippine Nautical Highway, motorcycle riders can now enjoy a trip to any point in the country.

The La Union unity trip aims to promote not only the beauty and safety of proper motorcycle riding but also the possibilities of the being developed Freeport Zone. Joining the unity ride were Manuel Jose, Christpher Pedrosa, Chris Franco, Alvin Aggregado, James Selenio, Raffy Escano, Bobbit Tongco, Miggy Tongco, JT Lansangan, Peter Lansangan and Peter Barrientos, to name a few.

Arriving during the second day of the Sillag Festival celebration, La Union was awaken by the number of riders passing by the main road of the province before ending at the Freeport Zone. The weather was so endearing that it was both sunny and windy at that time. Met by the Highway Patrol team and that of the PNP, the site of riders being accompanied was a sight to behold, elevating the curiosity of the people on what is there to see that day at the celebration ground. With bikes and riders, a riding spectacle was created for the people of La Union and that of Poro Point. Participants of the ride were then treated to an all Filipino luncheon spread prepared by the PPMC Poro Point Management Corporation headed by Dir Warly Guerra, Chairman of Investment Committee. Dir Guerra gave the guests a briefing of the investment opportunities in Poro Point Freeport Zone. He also seeked the help of the businessmen to help in promoting the area.

Not only did the MTC did the unity ride but they also started the Parade of Lights celebration and took the time to display their various bikes for people to see and take pictures with; something that bike riders, bike enthusiasts and fans took delight that day in the festival.

With this simple exhibition of motorcycling experience, riders can now travel and enjoy in their own pace the trip of doing a point-to-point tour of the country, promoting road and motorcycling safety and the scenic view of the place. No small thanks to the thrust of the Department of Tourism in looking into the various ways that people can truly explore the country.

April 7, 2018, The Cliffs Golf Club goes into drive as people come in to be part of this year’s golf tournament. Golf lovers, near and far, came in to Poro Point – San Fernando, La Union, to participate in the said tournament and enjoy the rest of the events set for the day as part of the annual light festival or more known as Sillag Festival.

Centuria Medical Women's Month Series of Talk for Women's Needs.

As being the Philippine's First Medical Mall, Centuria Medical Makati surely caters to all needs of our body without the stress of a traditional hospital.

Don't you just hate going to the hospital? I can't tell you enough the myriads of times that I had to go to the hospital and have quite an experience which makes me wish that there should be a place where
its relaxing that still caters to our medical needs.

Especially for women, we would prefer that right? So Centuria Medical Makati organized a day full of talks catering to not just our medical concerns but also financial and lifestyle needs.

One of the most notable talks that I saw was from the Asian Breast Center which was done by Dr. Norman San Agustin which he tackled the stigma of having breast cancer and also the advancement in technology towards breast cancer such as the Molecular Breast Imaging and Intra Operative Radiation Treatment.

Another talk that had an impact on me was how physiotherapy is very important for our health. That simple neck or back ache can be something else unless it can be checked. The talk was held by Prohealth Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy Centres.

One of the procedures they offer is assessment and optimization of the pelvic floor health, Pre natal and post natal programs. Because lets face it- as much as its an embarrassment to keep the pain in, we need professionals to help us out.

And since we are on the topic of our health, maintaining it wouldn't be enough by just going to the doctor but also doing our part by exercising. The talk was conducted by Pinnacle Performance which empowers their clients to achieve their optimum level of performance, especially their female clientele.

Mindful Journal Day 44

There was this Pinterest pin I found the other day which got me thinking: Am I a Multi Tasker or Single Task kind of girl?

I would consider myself a bit of both because as of this writing I am focused on writing this entry while listening to a mukbang video by Stephanie Soo - and its making me hungry though!!!

So yeah..its making me crazy though that I am thinking about this but are there people like that? Single Task people?

In this day and age multi tasking is really the way people do things. I can say I do that as well because of the limited time, we tend to spread ourselves too thin to the point that we have to do two things at the same time.

But most people crash eventually if that happens. And it has happened to me so many times. I normally would just shut everything down when I feel that it is too much for me. I feel too pressured to do something that I am not particularly comfortable with.

There was one time that I was tasked to do something at home which was to basically clean the whole house on my own as a form of punishment from my parents because I sneaked out one time.

Due to pressure of not knowing where to start, I actually cried for 2 hours because I was so afraid to do something bad to our house because I am not that domesticated when I was younger.

Later on, my mom just told me to clean out my closet because I had too much clothes that I need to get rid some of them.

My mom actually thought I cried to get out of the punishment but to be honest I wasn't acting it out. I was that afraid to clean our house because my mom has a very specific standard in cleaning and it was also very systematical that I would rather be buried alive than do what she does back then.

Nowadays, I can actually do those but I am too busy for it so yeah...you can say I am a lazy bum haha!

I will make a separate article about this because its quite weird but helpful as well because it can lessen your stress hormones if you don't pack too much into your schedule with this method.

I was browsing on some random Facebook page when I thought to myself: What if I buy a couple of contact lenses because I missed them? Would that be fun?

I guess so...I remember my fascination with contact lenses were from anime series that I've watched.

I love seeing girls with different eye colors and I hoped to get them too.

I might save up some money for that. I might buy myself a couple of circle lens just in case I need some fun in my life.

I can't really think of anything today which is weird. Is it because it is Valentines?

I just shiver at the thought that today was supposed to be the first Valentines I might have spent with my now ex-boyfriend.

Yes. I am still being bitter about it.

I am not bitter about the break up but rather the things we could've done together. But a lot of people have told me that it was for the better if he was just not into the relationship as I was with him.

I tried my very best to be as cordial to all the couples I've seen today. I just didn't want to ruin today to them as it is about a day of love.

I did sent out Valentine greetings to my friends...and to a few exes that I was in good terms with.

Which is odd because one of them was already married with two kids and the wife was the same woman he told me he was in love with when we broke up. This was for another story time for sure.

Oh boy...the bitterness in my soul is starting to boil up again.

I gotta go. I might say bad stuff after this. I prefer to end this on a happy note.

I've told myself that after my recent break up that I will change. But how can I change if my heart is not ready for it?

I have started doing meditation again to lessen my anxiety. It makes me feel better whenever I meditate which is oddly fascinating because as much as I love to focus on myself, I unconsciously think of others first but when I meditate I just let myself free.

A lot of my friends have told me that it would be best if I just focus myself first and not look for a partner...which is weird because is that the vibe I give out to people?

Am I unconsciously telling people that I want to be in a relationship now?

To be quite honest, I am hoping to be in a relationship with this guy that I have been talking to lately, but it turns out that he was just interested in getting laid. I was thankful that my instinct were right.

There are men out there who prey on women that are still broken from a recent break up so they can get laid.

Its a sad reality that nowadays being in a relationship means that you have to do it before you actually have to be in one.

I won't act highly in saying that I don't like that but I just don't think that is the sole basis of getting into a relationship.

If someone will be interested in me again, I would like it if they are interested in ME, not what is under my lingerie.

I would like to take things slow...you know like having coffee and just talking mindlessly, enjoying the tranquility of just knowing they are physically there.

I wish to meet someone like that, a man who would make me feel beautiful even if I feel my worst, a man who I can just hug and he will smile as if he knew what happened without saying a thing. I hope to meet a man that will love me even if I grow bigger along with my heart as we spend a lot of time together.

I hope to meet you when I am ready.

But for now, I think I just had to sleep and dream of the day you will arrive.

Mindful Journal Day 22-41

I am supposed to do this daily, but I can't. I am still trying to maintain this because I promised myself that I will do this as often as possible.

Lately I have been extremely tired. I just wanted to lay down my bed and just sleep.

I am not sick but I just missed doing nothing.

I missed not having an agenda for the day, I miss just enjoying staring blankly at the sky as if seeing the clouds change its form before my eyes.

I miss myself.

I have always had a weird fascination with the clouds. I like seeing them form shapes in my head and just move slowly. I remember when I was a child that I wanted to be a cloud which is weird i know so don't judge me.

But as we grow older, those things change. We get responsibilities as we get older we may like it or not. I felt shackled with a constant fear of seeing my life being handled by other people.

I just wanted to live. I just wanted to feel alive.

The other night I just started crying out of the blue. Nothing really happened but I felt a very strong strike in my chest which was unnervingly real to my physical body and I just started crying.

Its painful to even think of this incident because no one knew that I was like being stabbed by an invisible knife to the chest as if it was looking for my heart to finally end my misery.

The pain in my chest did subside eventually and now I know why. I have been under constant stress lately which lead me to eating excessively as well.

One of the things that made me so stressed out is the constant bickering me and my now ex boyfriend have been having lately. We finally ended the relationship and somehow I felt relieved.

I should be sad right now but odd that I don't feel pain from the break up. I know we have broken up prior to this, but today was just something else.

I just felt free from the misery I was supposed to call a relationship.

I will tell you more about him on my upcoming posts once I get over this euphoric feeling that I am free. I supposed I am still in that state where I am also in denial that we broke up and its just a phase but another side of my brain was saying ' this is final, you don't need this in your life right now'

I might get a proper night of rest tonight if the stars are aligned right.

2018 Life Goals

I know I should've posted this at the beginning of the year but give me a break okay? Life has been beating me lately which made me realize I should really get my act together at least for once.

So here are my 5 Life Goals for 2018.

1. SAVE MORE.

I am the kind of person that can save up if I want to. And this 2018 I am pushing towards that because let's face it I am not getting any younger and I need to get my financial act together so I will be saving up more this year.

I made this promise that at least every end of the month I will go to my bank and deposit money that I saved in a piggy bank. No matter how small or big that amount is I will deposit it.

And as an added surprised, which isn't really one is I won't look how much my balance is even if it is super tempting.

I am planning on buying myself a new laptop or travel by 2019 so that is why I am saving up money.

2. TRAVEL ALONE

In my 29 years of existence in Earth I haven't done that. And I hope to do that this year. I am planning on doing it by the middle part of the year since I need to save up for the trip.

I haven't ironed out the full details of it but I want to make it part of my 2018 goals.

I want to experience just immersing myself in our culture and not mind about an itinerary and just live freely for once in my life.

3. LESS VICES.

I like to drink. And its bad if you put yourself in a position where the only way for you to get out of the house is to go drinking.

Alcohol is never the answer to anything. It is good to have one once in a while but don't make it a factor to meet new people.

I want to lessen my night outs for beers and just go out and explore nightlife completely sober.

So far I am doing well since its been about 3 weeks that I drank a drop of beer or liquor.

4. STRESS LESS.

With having a business, a youtube channel, a blog, and social responsibilities is something I do daily - and it is stressing me out! I just really do not want to be as stressed out as I was last year and the year prior because my mental health will be at stake for it.

I have given myself a limit to where I can only stand something, if I have reached my limit to its full extent I will just get away from the situation.

And this actually worked! There were a lot of times that I just needed to shut everything out to cool myself down because the more pressure I am under I just break down.

TMI: I had 4 mental meltdowns last January. It was not a good scene to be honest.

5. OVERALL HEALTHIER LIFE

I promised myself that I will be healthier this 2018. I promised to eat more healthier than I usually would, and to also forgive myself for all the slip ups that might occur.

This is not just for my physical health but also for my mental and spiritual self.

I noticed last year that I held on to my vices more to get away from my worries and problems. It

wasn't healthy because I was constantly having mental breakdowns one after the other, but whenever

I pray and read I feel much better afterwards.

I want to live a healthier life not just my body but also my whole being.

I've already started practicing meditation again before I go to bed and it helps me relax more. I usually give myself an hour of social media downtime and just relax before I start meditating.

Honestly coming up with these was just a summary of half a notebook worth of ideas that I wrote one night I felt restless.

So if you are like me, just take your time to write down all of the things you want to be done this 2018.

SBR Launches their 2018 Activities

Last January 26 marks the opening of SWIMBIKERUN.ph (SBR.ph) 2018 activities. Held at the activity center of the Century City Mall, The event was well attended by traditional and digital media practitioners and invited guests.

I am actually a fan of watching triathletes on television, so knowing that there is a solid community like SBR.Ph it means that this sport is here to stay.

Gracing the event from the Departmenr of Tourism is Mr. Frederick M. Alegre - Assistant Secretary for Office of Public Affairs, Communications and Special Projects, from Black Arrow Express - logistics partners, Century City Mall - Venue host and The Big Difference Communications (TBDC) - PR and Marketing partner. This year, SBR.Ph finds its new home in one of Century Properties venue, The Century City Mall - located along Kalayaan Avenue corner Salamanca St, Poblacion, Makati City. Black Arrow Express (BAE) is the e-commerce arm of AII Worldwide Logistics (Formerly known as Airlift Asia Inc.) Their leadership is also into the triathlon scene which explains why they support this kind and similar athletic event and activities. Century City Mall believes in the concept of fun sports which the TRI-Series projects and carries which explain as to why they decided to become the venue host for some of the events of SBR.ph.

The recognition given to SBR.ph by the Department of Tourism is no small matter for both parties. For the DOT, they are recognized as the local group responsible in making the sports scene of the country more dynamic and noteworthy for the sports-tourism actions of the department. For SBR.ph, the recognition if equivalent to all the efforts that they have placed in making things happen for the sport and the formed community.

Welcome talk was given by Carlos De Guzman himself and was followed by a warm message coming from the Department of Tourism. From there the whole calendar of activities of SBR.ph for 2018 was presented to the media giving highlight to the results of the online nominations and the ongoing online voting which shall end on February 3, 2018; to the SBR Award's night on February 10 and the Expo on February 10 and 11 respectively.

Awards to be given in February are the following:

- Elite Tri-Athlete of the Year (men and women division)
- Duathlete of the year (men and women division)
- Age group tri-athlete of the year (men and women division)
- youth tri-athlete of the year(men and women division)
- race of the year (below 800)
- race of the year (above 800)
- Team of the Year
- Shoe of the Year
- Shop of the Year
- Tri-gear of the year
- Bike of the year
- Coach of the year
- SBR.ph Hall of Fame Class of 2017

Happening to a near side-by-side with the Award's Night is the SBR Expo, a retailers event showcasing items all geared to the needs of a tri-athlete. New retailers will join in the event showing their wares that are health related in nature that both athletes and non-sports minded individuals may be interested in. This is an open to all event, regulars of the mall can also enjoy the items offered on those days.

The first of all the races will take place in April which is the AQUAMAN (Aquathon), followed by the DUAMAN (Duathlon) in May and capping it all off with the TRIMAN (Triathlon) in June; registration for all SBR.ph events is now open to all interested individuals and enjoy an early bird discount.

Part of SBR's plan for this year is to launch a race event for kids and PWD's - a group that shows promise in terms of growth, recognition and possible fair market locally and abroad. Mr. De Guzman believes that the sport should be made open to all ages, sex and physical condition and still maintains the element of simple enjoyment without the normal pressure of a very dynamic and demanding sport. He aims to bring the sport nationwide and have it set on the natural terrain of the province that he goes to.

With a simple desire by a tri-athlete to becoming a growing e-commerce and triathlon event group serving the growing local fans and enthusiasts of the sport, SBR.ph is definitely something to look forward to this 2018.

Please Help Me!

I know this may seem weird to ask but is it possible if you guys and girls help me get additional subscribers for my main channel?

As you may or may not know, Youtube made a whole 180 change on their Youtube Partner Program the other day and it says there that you need to have 1,000 subscribers and at least 4,000 hours of views (equals to 240,000 minutes) on your channel to be able to still be in the program.

And I am asking you guys this because just like home much I love my blog, I also love my youtube channel and treat it as my main platform in sharing information with you guys. I would love to still earn from something that I love to do which is making videos on youtube.
