My Sigma Stories: Cleansing and Polishing Tool

A few months ago Natalie's BeautyLand hosted a giveaway and the prize was the famous Cleansing and Polishing Tool by Sigma Beauty. I was lucky enough to win!!!Yeaaah!!! THANK YOU Natalie!

After a long time of using it, I would like to share with you my opinion about this tool.
Well, first of all, when I saw the box I was excited! It was all pink and girly!!! I love when a brand takes care even of these little details that makes you excited to try the product.

Inside the box there was an informative leaflet that explained everything the tool does and, of course, the tool into a plastic box.

Sigma Beauty says that the Cleansing and Polishing Tool can polish your skin to be perfectly smooth and flawless. It is ideal for facial polishing, cleansing and body exfoliation. The brush head rotates and has two rotation speeds.

The tool itself has a good size, not big nor small, and it is light. It is water resistant, which I love 'cause I can use it even while in shower. It works with batteries and comes with three different brush heads, each one with a different use.

The Soft brush head(pink) is recommended for daily cleansing and polishing for normal skin and occasional exfoliation for sensitive skin.

The Medium brush head(pink/white) is recommended for daily overall body exfoliation and occasional facial exfoliation for normal skin.

The Firm brush head (white) is recommended for deeper body exfoliation of dry areas such as the elbows, knees and heels.

I usually use the Soft Brush, while I use the Medium Brush once in a moth for deeper exfoliation. I've started using it daily, every evening after taking my make up off. At first it seemed to work miracles but after a few days I noticed that my skin was very sensitive (I used the lower speed). The daily cleansing with these tool caused me acne and redness as well. But I didn't stop using it. Maybe a daily use was too much for my skin.

So, I started to use it one or-maximum- two times per week. And that was it! That was perfect! My skin feels soft ans smooth and I don't have problems with pimples and acne as often as before. Every time I use it I feel that it removes all the impurities and obviously dead skin. I am satisfied of the results!

You can purchase the Cleansing and Polishing Tool at Sigma's site for only $39. And as for the brush heads, you have to replace them every 3-4 months(depending the use you do) and you can buy the one you want for $9.

Do I recommend it? Hmmm... I don't know for sure. I am satisfied, but I admit I could live without it. It is a cheaper version of the Clarisonic, as it costs nearly a fourth of it, but I think that the usual face sponges can clean our skin face pretty well. If you are a gadget girl, buy it. If you are patient enough and you do your cleansing routine every single day,you can live without it and save your money for something else.

I' ve tried... Chocomania Body Butter

Do you remember the post about Chocomania, the new line by The Body Shop (click!)? Well, last week I had the chance to win on a twitter giveaway and The Body Shop Greece sent me a sample of the Chocomania Body Butter.

I got a sample of 8ml, small quantity but enough to let me understand if the product works for me. The body butter left my skin moisturized, very soft and smooth. It is ideal for dry skin and perfect for those very cold days that your skin needs much more protection.

As for the scent, I didn't smell like Chocolate to me. It reminded me of Shea Butter but not chocolate at all. Maybe it was me, because other beauty bloggers, like Natalie, do not agree with me. I read comments and reviews of bloggers who insist that the soaps and the lip butter smell much more like chocolate. I haven't tried them yet, so I can't tell you for sure.

Concluding, I liked the product a lot, even if it doesn't smell like choco to me. I would like to try the Shower Cream and the heart-shaped soaps as well. I will let you know when I'll get them!

To prepare the skin, Linda Cantello uses Regenessence High Lift Cream. Then she applies Fluid Master Primer, a subtle base for even complexion. To finish with skin she is using Maestro, the first invisible foundation which promises to do miracles. Unfortunately, Maestro will be available in October, so we will have to wait...

For the eyes she uses a mix of the pastel green eyeshadow from the palette #1 and the Gloss d'Armani #100. To finish the look she applies lots of Eyes To Kill Lash Stretching mascara layers.

As for the lips, Linda goes for a natural and fresh look. She creates her own nude shade blending different colors like Gloss d'Armani No105 and 508. Don't forget to give your lips a touch of light using the golden hue from palette #1.

L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art A.Head Clay

I love short haircuts, pixie hairstyles, bob haircuts. It's my style, I feel comfortable when much more feminine than with long hair.
Last week I got a haircut. I had long hair (if fact, looooong hair) and now I have a haircut that looks a lot like this one:

So, I started to use again a hair product that I used to love back in 2008-09, when I had a pixie haircut. My hairdresser had recommended this because he know that I am not the kind of girl that will spend more than 5' to style my hair.

I am talking about the Tecni.Art A.Head Clay by L'Oréal Professionnel. As you can easily understand from the name, it is a matt clay that allows you to create explosive styles and messed up control, without any build up.

How To Use:
Warm a small amount of clay in your hands(rub it between your handpalms) and then wok throughout the hair for an overall matt effect or use to define sections.

You only need a tiny amount of product that will give you a great hold without any greasiness or stiff looking hair. It last all day long. but still gives you the possibility to restyle your hair during the day if you want to.

It has a strange smell, which I like, but might be annoying to some sensitive little noses. It reminds me of anise (and greek ouzo). It seems to be a strong smell, but it disappears once applied.

You can buy it at hair salons. As for the cost, I can't really tell you because I bought mine a long time ago. I remember that is not cheap. Maybe something like 15€ for 50ml. Just consider that you only need a tiny amount, so it will last you for a long long time.

Nails Time: Zoya Lael

Hello ladies!

I have already told you that I am very careful with what products I am using lately. The same with my nail polishes. That's why a few months ago I bought two Zoya nail polishes: they were created especially for pregnant women and they keep their great formula free of DBP, camphor, formaldehyde and toluene.

Yesterday I dedicated an hour just for my mani! What a delight! i hadn't done my nails since forever! I chose Zoya Lael, a deep plum purple nail polish; mysterious color, ideal for all those scorpions, like me...hehe!

It is very pigmented and just one coat is enough to get the hue that you see in the bottle. But I still prefer to apply a second coat as well.
What really surprised me is that even without base, it doesn't stain the nails, unlike other dark nail polishes.

Bad light again, but better than before. In reality looks a little bit darker than this, just a touch.

Sorry for the nail polish all over my fingers...hehe!

It's not a cheap nail polish, not at all. It costs nearly €13 and the bottle contains 15ml of product. Considering this, but also all those great reviews all around the web, I expected a great lasting. And here comes the disappointing part. It last no more than 3 days on me (without a top coat). If applied a top coat, it lasts nearly 5 days, but I should be happy for my the top coat, not the nail polish. Am I wrong?

I don't think I am going to buy it again. I am sure I can find a dupe for less than €10, free of all those harmful ingredients and with great lasting.

Have you ever tried any Zoya nail polish? How long do they last on you? What do you think about Zoya's products?

What Does Spring Smell Like To you?

But since I saw that the first almond trees bloom, I know spring is around the corner. I feel it, I smell it...I close my eyes and dream of all those colors and smells...Do you feel them as well?

How To: Get Rid of Under Eye Dark Circles and Puffiness

Yesterday I reviewed an anti dark circles product (cliiiick!), so today I wanted to share with you a few tips on how to get rid of under eye dark circles and puffiness.

Let's be honest! Every single woman who has these two problems asks herself every morning ''How could I get rid of them?''. Am I right?

First of all, you have to find out the reason of dark circles and puffiness. If you know the reason, you will be able to act against them.

Look at your mother, father, grandmother; do they have dark circles? If yes, your under-eye puffiness is a hereditary condition (I got my dark circles from daddy...). What does that mean? Hmmm... Girl, you can't do much about it. Just make peace with your look and don't spent your money to all these products that promise to do miracles.

Try to eat healthy! I know! Everyone keeps telling you that and it's like a blah,blah,blah, in your head, but it is true: the healthier you eat, the better your skin looks. To get rid of dark circles eat foods rich of Vitamin C, E, K iron and folic acid. Wanna some examples? Oranges, berries, nuts, whole grains, beef, cheese, green tea, green leafy veggies. Oh! Avoid greasy foods, too. Bad for the cellulite, as well. xD

Stop smoking and drinking. No more words! You know what I mean!

Try the homemade remedies; cool cucumber or potato slices, cotton balls dipped in potato juice, coll teabags or teaspoons, leaving castor oil overnight... In case you know more remedies, please leave a comment down here!Thank you!

Make sure you drink enough water! Dehydration might cause blood vessels under the eyes to become darker and swollen.

Relax! It's the best way to help your body look healthier!

Sleep well, sweetheart!!! Lack of sleep could make your skin look paler and reduces circulation, which means that blood vessels could be more visible, giving the appearance of dark circles. Make sure you sleep 7-8 hours.

These are just a few tips to help you get rid of dark circles. If you don't see any improvement at all, keep in mind that under eye dark circles and puffiness could be signs of a few health problems, like iron deficiency, nasal congestion, allergy... If you believe it's a health problem, contact your doctor!

Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On

Let's be honest! Most of us when we wake up in the morning we hate the dark circles under our eyes. Am I wrong? We do everything: eye pads, masks, do-it-yourself beauty tricks(yeap!I am thinking the trick with potatoes), but these awful dark circles keep coming nearly everyday.

I have read a lot of reviews about Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On and I decided to give it a try.
Here's what Garnier claims:
Roll-on with dual anti dark circles action:
Instant Coverage: Concentrated in mineral pigments, it covers dark circles in a flash. Soft, natural-looking finish, long lasting wear.
Anti-dark circles hydrating care: enriched with caffeine and pure lemon essence, it combines a hydrating formula and the draining effect of a massage to effectively reduce dark circles and reveal a radiant and fresh look.

First of all, I like the roll-on packaging; it dispenses just the right amount of product as you move the roller ball against your skin and the massage feeling that gives you is pretty cool especially in the morning.The texture is kind of thin, light, almost watery. You have to blend the product as quick as possible because it gets absorbed very quickly. When it dries out, it gives a matte but fresh effect to the eyes. You can refresh it during the day, as it doesn't get cakey nor it creases.

As it claims, it contains caffeine and it should have helped in reducing the puffiness and the dark circles under the eyes. In fact, I haven't noticed any improvement in my dark circles. So, I won't suggest you to use it as an under eye care product.

I think it's a great light concealer and gives a natural result, ideal for everyday use. Don't expect a full coverage product and it might not work for you if you have very dark circles. For me, it is more than ok, 'cause I don't like heavy make up for my everyday looks and I don't mind if dark circles or imperfections can be seen on my face.

Swatched on my hand

For the moment it has replaced my everyday concealer. If I would buy it again? Hmmm..I don't know yet! Maybe yes! I am just skeptical because after I finish the Garnier Roll-On I would like to try a mineral concealer.

The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Foundation & Blusher Kabuki

It's been about two years I am using mineral cosmetics. The first ones I have ever bought were a blush and a foundation by The Body Shop. Till that moment I didn't have a kabuki brush and that's why I decided to buy Nature's Minerals Foundation and Blusher kabuki brushes.
These two brushes have many thing in common and that's why I decided to write both reviews in one article.

The Kabuki Foundation Brush is the classic kabuki brush. It is made of synthetic hair and has a rounded shape. It is very dense and and soft and it can be used for applying different powders, for example mineral cosmetics, powders e.t.c. It provides good coverage and fits the contours of my face. The handle is short and fits easily into the palm, but I would prefer if it was a little bit bigger. I am using it for about two years and I haven't noticed any shedding or bleeding. It costs about €18 and you can find it at TBS stores or website.

The Kabuki Blusher Brush is made just like the previous one; synthetic bristles with a rounded shape that allow circular movements across the cheeks. Its high density ensures that just the right amount of powders is held between the bristles. The Blusher Brush is smaller that the Foundation Brush. I haven't noticed any bleeding or shedding till now. It costs about €16.

Each of these brushes come in a cute black pouch which I've lost when I moved to my new home... (ooops!)

You might think that they are a little bit pricey and that's true. I got them with a 40% off, but after two years of using them, I have to admit that they are amazing brushes and the price is more than ok!

I am not a party animal at all, but I love to invite my friends at home, chatting, drinking our tea/coffee, watching movies e.tc.
I hate bananas. I can't even smell them!
I can't draw a line...when we draw with my 4 years old nephew, he always says ''Why is your house like this?And what happened to that child?Let me teach you how to draw!''
When I was little I had a collection of Barbies. The last one I got was the pilot(I had the plane, I needed the pilot!).
During my childhood I was a tomboy and really nasty--I used to fight with boys and thing of that kind (the Barbies were an exception). I became a ''good girl'' at the age of 9-10.
I get mad when people tell me that they don't believe in Santa or the Christmas Spirit!!! What's wrong with you guys???
I adore Angry Birds! I can't stop playing that game!

How To: Protect Your Skin During Winter

Even if we see Spring's new trends and collections everywhere, it is still cold outside--very cold! And with these temperatures our skin could become fragile and sensitive. Do you really know how to take care of your skin and keep it looking healthy during this cold time of the year?

Rule Number 1: Water, Water, Water! You've heard it thousand times but do you do it? Drinking water is good for your health and when you are healthy that reflects on your skin.

Wash your face with lukewarm water and not hot. I know, it's cold and hot water feels good when you wash your face, but it could damage your skin- and I am pretty sure you don't want that. Use a mild cream based cleanser. Gel cleansers or bar soaps could strip your skin of natural oils and make it drier and fragile. I recommend you Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser.

Don't forget to exfoliate and apply a hydrating mask once a week.

Invest in a great moisturizer, keeping in mind your skin type. Prefer hte ones that are free of chemicals that could irritate and dry your skin. My favourite moisturizer for cold weather is Estee Lauder Hydrationist SPF15, pricey but it's worth it.

Slather on the SPF. Even when it's cloudy, the sun rays can be harmful for your skin. If it snows, the sun ray's could be harmful as well, because of the reflections. Apply an SPF to all exposed areas of skin and enjoy your winter days with no worries!

Use a good moisturizing lip balm. Chapped lips could be so annoying, so remember to moisturize them often. Prefer lip balms with beeswax or shea butter. Which lip balm do I use? This winter I am totally in love with Apivita Lip Care Bee Princess (click! for the review).

Sneak Peek: Lancôme Makes Us Fall In Love!

Lancôme is getting ready for February 14th and launches a new range of lipstick: Rouge In Love. For the launch sets the web buzzing with a unique video clip created by Adria Petty and set to music by Brigitte.

Rouge In Love is the new it-lipstick, endorsed by the British actress Emma Watson, and will be available in 24 trendy colours. In stores from February 2012.

To celebrate over the Valentine's Day period, the french beauty brand has chosen Publicis 133 Lux and Digitas France to create a video clip directed by Adria Petty, as told before. A 60 seconds clip modern, glamour and with a touch of pop.

Through colourful urban environments (form London to New York via Paris) shows women's lips tinted in trendy colours like purple, pink, red, all singing the same song: ''Oh La La'' by the popular french band Brigitte.

This film is a declaration of love and desire for colour in all its forms. It will be revealed worldwide on web on February 1st 2012.
