I have taken a big break from this blog. I really do miss it. Hopefully someday soon I can get back to it. and I'm wondering will you still be here? For now, life has its priorities.

Please, please, please pray for my sweet niece Clara and her family. Clara is a very sick little girl, and needs all of the love she can get. I'm headed up to Spokane right now to give her a big kiss in her hospital bed, and take her lots of wonderful things from very generous people. My heart is overwhelmed.

Preview of Clothes

I've had a few requests for clothing pictures of the sale. I won't be taking pictures of individual items, but if after the sale I have some items that I think some of you would be interested in that haven't sold, I will post them on here. In the meantime, here's a preview of the clothes that will be for sale. I have two Miche purses. I don't know anything about these purses. They were a gift and I've never used them, but I do know they are in perfect condition and I think there are 2 to 3 shells for each purse (they were used by the person who gave them to me, but they look brand new).

I will be having a clothing sale this weekend on April 29th and 30th, starting at 8 am both days. There will be blazers, jackets, dresses, dress slacks, purses, belts, jeans, casual pants, dress coats, capris, skirts, blouses. Sizes small, medium, 4,6 or 8. Shoes are 8.5 (only a few pair of shoes). I will also have some accessories too.

Prices will range from 2 to 15 dollars, although I won't have much in the $2 range. Whatever doesn't sell, I will be taking to consignment or selling online, so prices aren't negotiable. Mostly everything is in really good shape and worn when I was working full time and didn't have children. My house won't be available for trying items on, so if you need to try things on, it will have to be done outside.

Easter Dresses

Whenever it's Easter season, I always have an itch to get a new dress, but I haven't been shopping in a long time, so I'm not even sure what the selections like. I have a feeling I won't be wearing a new dress, so I found a few cute dresses online that I would love to wear for Easter. All of these dresses are too expensive, but they are so beautiful. If I was single or had no guilt then I would definitely buy one of these. Right now, I'm more concerned about finding my two boys cute ties that aren't clip-ons (I like the ones that go all the way around and clip in the back), or that you don't have to tie (who wants to tie a tie on a 3 and 1.5 year old?). They might just have to wear last year's selection because I am not having much luck!

Back to the dresses. I could have found lots more, I'm sure. I tried to find dresses that I wouldn't have to wear a sweater with or adjust.

Outfit Request

Someone contacted me about helping them find items to go with this Anthro skirt. It wasn't easy to do, but I think I found some good options. I could not find a red shirt that would go with the skirt, so instead I suggest adding the red color in the shoes and other accessories. The bottom middle shirt might be my favorite because it comes in other colors as well. Do you have any suggestions?

If you know anything about me you know that I love BYU sports. In college I worked for the football and basketball teams (best job ever, might I add), and so my devotion runs deep. These days, BYU basketball and cheering on Jimmer are on the top of my priorities, and I am anxiously awaiting Thursday's 4:27 PM (PST) tip-off. If I were lucky enough to go to New Orleans, you can bet I'd wear this outfit. Who says a girl who loves sports can't also love style? GO COUGARS! I can't wait for Florida to get JIMMERED!

Diva Style Session-$250

Closet Analysis: 2 hour one-on-one session to review your wardrobe. During this time I will help you shop within your wardrobe to find new outfit ideas, mix and match existing pieces, take pictures of outfit ensembles for our shopping trip and for your future reference, as well as find key clothing items to work your wardrobe around. We will use this closet analysis to base our shopping trip on. Clothing, shoes, and accessories will all be evaluated to make sure they work well on you. I will help the decide which items need to be donated, consigned, or packed away for another season.

Style Boards: I will create 4 online style boards within your budget to give you an idea of things that will look good on you and that are compatible with your lifestyle. Some examples of different style boards I could create are: Sunday Look, Casual Look, Professional Look and Date Night Look. You do not have to purchase the items, this will just give you an idea on what would look great on you. I will find items that are within your budget so they can be purchased if desired.

Shopping Trip: 4 hour shopping session (prefer a weekday evening because crowds are small at the stores, but this is flexible) where we will find clothes to work with your existing wardrobe which will be based around the closet anaylsis, as well as try some new looks and accessories. We can break this up into 2 trips if necessary.

Hairstyle and Makeup Tips: I will send you suggestions for haircuts (color if you're interested), and different make-up techiques that will work for your lifestyle. I will schedule your haircut and color and coordinate with the salon of your choice on what haircut you would like.

Glamour Style Session-$170

Shopping Trip: 3 hour shopping session (prefer a weekday evening because crowds are small at the stores) to find a few great outfits within your budget.

Each additional hour needed for shopping will cost $30 per hour, but you will be consulted before scheduling this if you are organizing this for someone else.

She was flexible and able to work with my schedule. The first night we cleaned out my closet, literally. Laura's Makeover and Outfit Details

I must say that Laura was lots of fun to work with. She has a sense of humor about everything, was eager to change her look, and was willing to try anything. As is the case with many people that I help, they think they are one size, but really they are another. Laura was wearing clothes that did not fit her current body type. I think that many people are reluctant to shop for clothes that are their true size because they wish they were a different size, which was the case with Laura (she gave me permission to write this). Laura quickly found out that by shopping for clothes in her correct size and at the right stores, she was able to look skinner. Imagine that! By actually going up a size, she looked smaller, and felt more confident about herself.

When Laura tried on her skinny jeans, she about fell over because she said she lost 20 pounds! She has never worn skinny jeans, doesn't own any boots or heels, and rarely wears accessories. I also noticed that she didn't ever wear any skirts or dresses that were above her ankles. All of that how now changed! Laura definitely looks great in heels and a knee length dress/skirt, don't you think?

Unfortunately with plus size clothing, there is not a lot of options out there. I also have a clothing budget that I need to stick to....dang it! I will admit, it is more expensive to shop in the plus size clothing section, but I believe in the end, it's worth it to look your best even if it's hard to take the leap to that section. Laura's makeover required a lot of time to figure out what clothes would look best on her body type, but in the end the very late night trips to Kohls, Target and TJ Maxx paid off. We even ended up going to store that neither of us would have considered....Dress Barn!

I just got the pictures back, and I love them. Thank you Lee Ann for all of your hard work on them, they definitely capture Laura's makeover and her great personality. I have lots to update as far as everything that her makeover entailed. Laura will be doing a guest post on Monday to detail all of her spa services at Eden Day Spa, her dinner sponsored by Sterlings (and another by her in-laws), and everything that I did on the clothing front. Thank you for your feedback about how great Laura looks. It takes a lot of work, so it's nice to have things appreciated, and plus Laura needs to know how HOT she looks!

Angus Square Dental

Laura went in for her teething whitening with Dr. Adam Harker at Angus Square dental, and they found out she needed some more work besides just the standard teeth whitening. They fixed a 20 year old filling in her front tooth, evened out all of her front teeth, and even made it so that her two front teeth were the same width. Laura's new smile, really does look great. Here are pictures of Laura at Angus Square dental when she went in for her bleach trays. I wasn't able to get any pictures of her second appointment when they fixed everything, but Laura said they treated her like family, and she said it was even relaxing having her teeth drilled on! Thanks Angus Square Dental for being such a great sponsor and going above and beyond!

As soon as I get pictures back from the photographer, I will post them. I can't wait to see them!

Well today is the makeover day, and ready or not, here we come! This makeover has turned out to be my most difficult clothing challenge, but I'm happy with what I've found, and can't wait to see it all come together.

Angus Square Dental gave Laura a new smile, and it looks amazing! They ended up doing more than just a teeth whitening, so stay tuned.
