Let's not kid ourselves. We really need to be honest. Things are just not going to get any better are they? Not in the short term anyway!

"Why not?"

Well, because one of the reasons why energy costs so much is the levy we pay in taxes to the governments on that energy. This is going to be one of the main areas where things are going to get worse. In fact, because the governments had to raise huge loans from the various treasuries throughout the world to bail out the banks, the governments now have to repay them. WRONG - It's not the governments that will repay them - YOU ARE!

"You're going to get HIT directly and indirectly in TWO WAYS..."

1. The governments will increase taxes - it's the only source of revenue they can use. This means that indirectly the energy companies will have to pay greater taxes on their own costs. This in turn means that directly this affects you in that the energy companies will pass this increase cost onto you.

2. In addition to the actual increase in production costs that the taxes will create, this also means that the percentage of sales tax that you pay on your energy bills will increase too - Even if the % you pay doesn't change, the total amount will because of the initial increase from the energy supplier - hope this makes sense!

"So what's going to happen?..."

Well, you're going to see an increase in the number of companies offering 'green energy' solutions to install commercially produced wind turbines, solar panels etc. While the idea is good, in truth the cost for the average house is proven to be about $28,000 to get to the point where you're totally energy self-sufficient. This totally defeats the object - the time it will take for the energy savings to compensate for the outlay runs into years if not decades.

"So that's no good then - That's not the answer is it?"

No it's definitely not...
