I've been pushing aside updating this Blogger account for I am currently working on my new website and yes, moving to Wordpress too. I wanted new posts, especially makeover ones to be the main thing when I finally get it up. It just seems though, that the site's makeover will take awhile. So, here I am finally posting this long awaited makeover.

To my lovely "buena mano" bride Misty, thank you from the bottom of my heart for again trusting me to do yours and your family's makeover during this very special moment. Doing your makeup during your civil wedding almost 2 years ago is already very memorable. Doing it once again during your church ceremony feels all the more heart-warming. It kind of feels like a tap in the shoulder, and telling me that I'm really doing a good job. ;)

I'd like to also congratulate you and sir Leo for I know you are already expecting your little one and I'm sure that baby will be the cutest ever. God bless you and your family.

Haul: MAC Cosmetics

Just when I told myself I won't be posting another haul anytime soon, I just can't help it. I have a folder full of photos to share. Hehe. Today's another special haul 'coz it's my first ever from MAC. Though I own a few items from them, those were gifts given to me. This time, it's from my own purchase (using again of course my hard-earned cash).

But see this? Wouldn't you feel giddy holding and seeing this bag full of makeup? I bet all you makeup junkies like me agree too. I just feel lucky that I do freelance makeup so I don't have to feel guilty about my purchases. (Lucky excuse) Hahaha!

Glamour Daze collection pouch I got for free

Truth is, this purchase wasn't planned the way I wanted it to happen. I was supposed to purchase a 2nd batch of high end products at Make Up Pro (sometime mid-December) for my wedding gigs last December but it was unfortunate that when I arrived at the store in Makati, they were already closed. And the best bet I could do to get my hands on some basic essentials is to go to MOA. And so I went, thus this haul.

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in NC42 - Php 1,900

I've done research of all these products before I actually went to purchase them finally. Pro Longwear is something that's been raved by a lot of Pro MUAs and I too am loving it at the moment, especially mixing this with my fave Encara BB Cream. NC42 is a tad darker than my skin tone.

This was recommended to me by the SA but I've heard so much about this shade from Youtube that made me decide to pick it up. One of MAC's best selling blush shades...

MAC Powder Blush in Melba - Php 1,300

MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC20 - Php 1,000

This one's a good full-coverage concealer that does the job well. I'm just not sure if this one's to blame for some slight under-eye creasing or settling into fine lines. I'm yet to road test this one further.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in NC25 - Php 1,700

This powder is a basic kit essential for its fine full-coverage and pure awesomeness. 'Nuff said!

Had I arrived earlier at the MUP store, I would've bought more items with my budget because their prices there are much much lower compared to the MAC outlets here, which are honestly overpriced, I believe. It's definitely an unforgettable lesson. But having the experience to actually test out each product and shade and identify which ones I really need was amazing. That was still something priceless. Plus, the SA guy who assisted me was actually very helpful.

Makeup Pro Haul - High End Makeup

I know I've been most delinquent in updating my blog in the past weeks. Don't want to reason out but surely a lot of things have happened and I can't wait to share 'em with you. =)))
But let me just jumpstart and share one haul i'm mostly proud of, not that these are high end products and more on the pricey side but because these are things I've written in my wish list from years back and now finally got them.

All these are from my hard-earned money and not for showing off. I know a lot who ask me what products I have in my kit, and I myself love knowing other Pro MUA-recommended products out there. So I'm hoping this could be helpful too.

Got all these from Make Up Pro last November. I know, it's late and I think they've slightly raised some prices already but theirs are still remarkably lower than those from the malls. The place is a makeup heaven, I warn you. I went there with a list so as not to go over my budget. I recommend you do too. You can always come back for more, though. Haha!
I focused more on initially investing on face base products so read more to see which ones I got...

The ever famous Make Up Forever HD Foundation and I got the shades 117 and 175. Kim Kardashian, whose makeup is loved my millions of girls, raves about this foundation. I now know why. I'm definitely coming back to get more shades.

I get to use 117 more recently because most of my clients are fair-skinned. I use 175 to custom-mix a shade to would suit more my morena clients.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in NC35

This shade suits a lot of Filipino clients because of its medium yellow tone.

Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Face Powder 1.75oz

I'm glad I bought this powder for it's truly finely milled and gives a light feel on the skin. I just regret not getting the Banana one too then, before they increased the price but that's still part of my to buy list. :)

And this super important for Pro MUAs, a mixing plate and a spatula. These are used to custom mix liquid and cream products. I got a generic spatula and a Make Up Forever mixing plate.

I decided not to include the price in this post for they sometimes or often raise 'em. I suggest you go visit Make Up Pro's Facebook page to check the prices. The photos posted there though aren't complete, 'coz I tell you, that small showroom is just bursting out of pure and overwhelming makeup goodness and I can just imagine how difficult it could be to post all of 'em there.

Ms. Anna, the lovely and super accommodating owner of the store recommends you to go visit their shop. I went to the original Makati branch but they've already opened a QC branch. However, if you aren't from Manila or somewhere nearby, you can pm her and ask which ones you want and if they're available, so you can order online.

And that's me, all-smiles, carrying my Temptu goody bag filled with oh so awesome makeups. I'm just one happy kid. =))

In all honesty, my main purpose of going to that store is to purchase my Temptu airbrush system but ended up still getting more products. Everything though is part of my list, which I again recommend that you do too in advance. You can just see how much items are there at my back (and that's just a small portion of the room) and I bet you'll surely go gaga when you go there. Haha!

And because it is super special for me, I'm dedicating a separate post dedicated to my Temptu Pro Airbrush system haul on my next post. :)

Meet my beautiful bride Maryknoll. I was very blessed to meet her and work with her and her husband for a post-nuptial shoot which we did in Manila.

Doing makeup inside a busy fast food restaurant is quite a bit of a challenge but my beautiful bride was a breeze to work with so it wasn't a worry at all.

I realized we'd be doing a hike within the streets Intramuros so I decided to give her the most natural-looking makeup I could. It was fresh, light and easy on the eyes. Cool plum and some golden highlights for the eyes, beautifully arched brows, glowing flushed cheeks and a peach colored lips to make her look more fresh.

She was charming in all the sense of the word and willingly agreed to take a photo with me. Hehe!

Extreme Makeover: Hair Edition

I've always been that girl known for my big black hair. One night, I went ahead and gathered enough courage to change it up and finally go out of my ultra-comfort zone. Thus, I'm sharing this special post about the most adventurous thing I've done so far.

Things didn't happen as I've wished for the to and I got scared, but I'm sharing these things (tips, tricks and trivia too) for all you guys out there.

Just one night of boredom, I asked my sister Agold to bleach my hair. She was super hesitant at first but I was insisting that it'd be okay. My hair's terribly big so she dunk a big batch of bleach and then applied it on my hair. I had to part it into sections first so she'd not have a hard time evening them out. She applied it from bottom up to my crown. I waited about an hour before I rinsed it with a bucket-full of ice and water. She said this shall help relieve the burning feeling on the scalp and help with vibrance.

It still turned out uneven. My scalp was burning and super itchy. The hair from my roots turned yellow and the mid-shaft to ends turned yellow-copper-like in color.

The reason of the uneven effect? I shall tell you later...

Few moments after I towel-dried my uneven bleached hair, I asked her to apply cellophane. Cellophane is a hair-enhancing product/procedure that gives hair a more lustrous effect. I used a cellophane in a choco-brown color. This was also applied from bottom up, then focusing more on the roots where it turned lighter from bleaching.

I went to the mall for a dinner date with Jay but he was late and I just suddenly felt the need for a haircut and so I went to my fave David's Salon. My trusted and fave hairstylist Ms. Marissa was sooo busy I had to wait to be serviced till after 3 girls. I first had a shampoo and then went to the salon chair. Unlike my usual visits where my hair would be cut wet, the assistant decided to blow dry my hair first as it was terribly dry and knotted. It would have been a pain to get it combed and cut wet.

The assistant also told me why the color is uneven. He said, the heat from my scalp forced the product to develop faster than those from mid-shaft to ends. He said when bleaching, they were taught in beauty school to not apply it from roots instead leaving at least an inch away.

Then...Ms.Marissa took over and was surprised. She said she didn't recognize me and immediately knew that I bleached my hair without even telling her yet. She said... "Ang pinaka-pangit na pwede mo'ng gawin sa buhok mo eh i-bleach!" (The worst thing to ever do to your hair is bleach it!) waaaah! haha! I was both laughing and worried but I thought to myself, it's okay. It's just hair. She even mentioned that even though she's a Pro, she's stil scared to even do bleaching as it is very difficult to even out. So she went and did my hair a little glamming up and cut it to layers so it would look and feel lighter. When my hair has grown long and big, I always find myself complaining on how heavy it feels and my nape and back gets painful. (haha! it's that heavy)

There used to be a time when I tried to grow my hair to it's longest and avoided cutting it for over a year. It was gruesome and hard as I felt like it was growing too slowly. But here I am, just almost a month from having a Pro cut my hair, I'm again feeling the need for another haircut. My hair is too dry at the ends and the color is no longer pleasant looking. My original black with white and grey hair has grown to over an inch and is too obvious thus making my bleached hair too fake looking. The cellophane fades every time you wash your hair.

And because I knew that my hair's needing some TLC, I grabbed a pair of haircutting shears (borrowed from Agold) and started cutting my hair. This isn't my first time (though I'm not trained to do this so I'm not encouraging anyone to follow) but I am confident to get my look in mind. It's now a layered bob that ends just past my shoulders.

I bought two tubes of Bremod hair color in 7.45 Flowiness Red. I mixed it in equal portions with a 9% oxidizing lotion and then applied from mid-shaft up. Doing this allows the product to develop better color through the hair.

Then after covering all the bleached hair with the product, it was then applied to the roots. I waited for an hour to let it develop even more. Washed it and look like that in the right photo. ;)

It has a wine red sometimes purplish but mostly deep red color. I super love it!

And it turns super bright and vibrant when under the sun. I love my new hair. I'm proud I cut it myself again this time. It took me too long to finally share something about my hair as I was not the happiest about how it looked like the past weeks. There were days when I really thought it looked good on me. And a lot were saying that the color (after cellophane) made my skin look lighter. But this hair, the wine red layered bob is my most favorite so far.

Prenup: Mark & Elle

Mark is my (photographer) friend and so he commissioned me to help glam up her beautiful then-fiance Elle. =)

Elle is already naturally beautiful even before the makeup, but since the prenup would be outdoors and she prepared a handful set of clothes, might as well go for the full glammed up look. I gave her (of course) fresh flawless skin, daytime smokey, healthy looking flushed cheeks and a youthful lip color for the shoot.

A little side-note, I think she resembles Star Power Finalist K-La Rivera, right??? ^^

Elle's first outfit is that of the 1st photo. Side braids for the hair and a mix of fishtail braids and twists plus her cute jumper outfit makes for a cute youthful set of photos.

I just don't have a good shot from my own cam. But they've got a beautiful set and she changed up her clothes a couple of times and so I did different hairstyles too.

I helped style Elle too throughout the shoot. This is her 2nd look. Outfit's kind of Anne Curtis inspired, eh?

Love love love this vibrant hairstyle for her 3rd look. Half up - half down with a twist. ;)

I think this one's my fave from the bunch of photos I took that day. They just both look beaming happy and in love! I'm such a fan of the Mark-Elle love team! =)

And as for their 4th and final look, I changed up Elle's hair to an updo and brightened up her lips with some red-pink toned lips.

It was a fun-filled day and I was so glad to work with both of them...they were so sweet and soo in love. =)

And yes, I was there during their wedding too and I did Airbrush makeup for Elle. Will be posting that soon as well.

Nicole's Graduation Portrait

Today's makeup makeover features this super sassy gal named Nicole.

Nicole asked me to do her hair and makeup for her graduation pictorial. She told me that some of her classmates who were done with shoot did not quite like their makeup which were serviced on the pictorial site. Our house/office is just across DLSU-D so Nicole didn't think twice of asking for my help. *kilig*

Nicole hair's naturally sexy wavy but already a bit dry due to coloring. What I did was blowed it dry and gave her stunning big natural curls... vintage-inspired for that classic look.

To achieve Nicole's voluminous sexy curls, I sprayed some water, mousse and then blow dried it. I then applied some heat protectant spray, parted her her and started curling from bottom up using my trusty VS curling iron and set them with pins. While letting the curls cool up, I started doing her makeup.

Graduation photos are a classic memento that Filipinos love to keep. Remember those thick vintage wooden frames mounted with your parents' grad pic? It's a classic in Filipino homes that I think is a way to appreciate ours' and our parents hard work for letting us go and finish school, AND a way to preserve how young and beautiful we look once in our life. Hehe! Our house also has a wall dedicated for our family's graduation portraits. With that in mind, I was focused on giving Nicole a timeless makeup look that will just emphasize her features and not makeup her look like another person.

The makeup I did on Nicole was simple, even flawless skin with a little contouring to add dimension to her face. Her brows are naturally super thin so filling 'em in with a medium brown shade instantly framed her face. For her eyes, I used muted browns and ivory for a natural look, lined the upper and lower lash line and applied a few coats of mascara to open up her eyes more.

I applied a pinky mauve shade of matte blush to add that natural flush and finished up the look with a rose pink lip color.

Weee! The beautiful Nicole and me. (I don't wear any makeup at home. Super barefaced. hehe)

Getting Back Together on 2013

I know it has been forever. (That's too much of a statement but it feels like it. Haha!) A lot of things have happened. And gosh, a year has passed already. It is quickly past mid-month of January and I'm writing this as my first attempt to blog again after so long. It feels too long, for the past months and weeks have been somewhat an over-all whirlwind for me.

I remember saying months before the past year ended, that 2012 was a roller-coaster-ride of new and extreme events. Though I've been through trials and challenges, I know I've breezed through every single one of them and turned them into achievements. Of course I would not have done that without the help of a lot people; my family, friends, boyfriend and especially God. And of course you guys...whom I know some of you have still been visiting my little baby blog even if I've taken it for granted for a little while. It was a challenge for me to update this with anything as it was already a challenge to survive an extremely busy day during the past month. So, thank you from the bottom of my touched and humbled heart.

There were days when I wanted to just grab my computer and share something in here but whenever I get a free time, I just find myself resting. Haha! I did plenty of work that I even got super sick for over a week. I came to a point during the last days of December when I had a high fever even while on a makeup gig where I needed to do 6 people all by myself. I was praying through and through that the Lord guide me so I'd finish. And thankfully, my clients were still very happy after the makeover.

To this, I would just also like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients, especially my brides for trusting me to do their makeup especially on their big day. It is always a pleasure to know that people trust you to do what you love doing and they're up for making you part of that very special moment.

I know I have promised my clients that I'd be uploading the photos after New Year but sadly my Macbook charger just got busted for the nth time and I would need to purchase a new one. All my photos and other work files are there so please bare with me as there would be a little more delay. (I'm using mom's laptop for the time being.)

Meanwhile, I know it would be best to just push it, move forward and start up again, work with what I have and post a preview of exciting things that have happened and those that I'll be sharing with you guys in the coming days.

I swear I could not explain how happy I am as I finally, after over 3 long years, gained the chance to be back up on stage to perform as a singer. In this photo, I am with my fellow alumni members of DLSU-D Chorale and we did our launching performance as Minstrels of St. La Salle during the Madz Et Al Festival 2012.
Trivia: I did makeup for all us girls. Hihi!

And this... is just pure LOVE and HAPPINESS. =)

My family has always been so supportive of my singing career. haha! (Career talaga?!) Thank you Lord for my loving family.

ASEB is a local newspaper circulating within CALABARZON founded by my father and left to our family as a legacy. It would have been more successful if Dad's still with us but I know now that wherever he is, he is very proud of all of us. Kudos to the whole management for this momentous event.

And this... OMG! This is the most adventurous thing I've ever done to my hair. I have been sporting my natural jet-black hair ever since I can imagine. And having to just bleach my whole hair in an instant was quite big deal. I did this over a month ago so my roots are already showing. I'm excited to try new hair color, though. I'm thinking of bright reds and browns and gosh, I get excited whenever I think of it. I'm definitely going to post an update about my hair. :)

Dashing Bride - Joanne

It is another busy Tuesday for me. Our family is busy preparing for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of our publication's local weekly newspaper, AsianStar Express Balita.

I am very proud and happy to announce that Makeup and My World will also be published there starting from this week's issue. It will most likely have a similar content from what I post here in my blog too, it's just that it will be published and distributed locally. I'm definitely sharing more of that story on a different post.

Today's post though is another makeup makeover that I did. If you follow me on Instagram, you've most likely seen photos from this event already. :)

Flawless skin, naturally flushed cheeks and beautiful eyes. Those I think would be a very good description for how Joanne looked on her special day. She was very pleasant to work with and oh I agree to her photographer who said she looks like Jessica Sanchez. :)

I made sure to remind her that on her special day, her most important job was to keep smiling and be beautiful. I believe this is where hair and makeup artists play a big role into. Making the bride feel and look beautiful is very important. :)

My Favorite Muse - Shine

How's the first day of the week coming along for you? Mine's super pumped up. Been working non-stop since the past days and weeks. I kind of appreciate how busy I get to be lately. I feel like I always have my thinking-cap on. hihi!

I apologize if most of my blog posts are a bit delayed, but I will do my very best to make time and update you guys with lots of beauty-related, makeover posts.

In today's post, I am again featuring my super lovely and charming muse, Shine. You've most probably seen her in my previous posts and photo shoots. But this one's different, Shine represented one of her school's department as muse.

The hair and makeup I did for Shine is something that I know would work for a day ramp and even a special day event.

Since this was a morning event, I gave Shine a subtle shimmer of slightly smoked brown shadows for her eyes. She's blessed with wonderfully long lashes so I only needed to curl them well and run a few coats of mascara to emphasize her beautiful round eyes.

I actually anticipated that since this is a sports event and would be held at their gymnasium, I made sure to use face products that would give her flawless full coverage that would be long lasting and water-resistant. ;)

As always, fave combo for my clients that's proven and tested would be Celeteque Hydration moisturizer and Encara BB Cream. I also applied Revlon Colorstay to some parts of her face to build more coverage then I set this with powder to make it more long lasting.

The look was finished of with flushed pink cheeks and candy pink lips. I mixed both NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Candy Land and Dolly Girl.

I was thinking twice if I were to post this 'coz my face is too sweaty, eww! Haha! But if you would notice, Shine still looks fresh. We were at the gymnasium's parking area in these photos and it was terribly and extremely hot at that time, thus my super haggard face. Haha! But surely not on my muse's face. Posted it for comparison purposes. Hehe!

I tried my very best to take photos during the ramp but everything was blurred. So sorry about that. Anyways, this is how Shine looked like after the event, roughly around 4 hours after the makeup application. Makeup's still super fresh and the a little less matte but not oily nor sweaty. ;)

I am very happy that Shine liked this look on her very much. So excited to be working with her more in the future.

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? Now me, I'm doing great! I think this has been the longest time that I've not been able to update my blog for the reason of being ultra busy. Haha! Yeah! I mean ULTRA! I still get to update my FB, Twitter and Instagram a little so those who follow me there know what I've been up to recently.

But anyways, I'm back with blogging coz I miss it a lot! And what better way to be back than to share with you another makeup makeover.
So sit back and enjoy this roll of photos and makeovers. Yes! Makeover(S) because this post includes 3 makeovers. ;)

Meet my lovely debutante Shey...

Theme for her party was KPop... and as I was in the mood for some Korean inspired looks as I was that time also been working on new Korean cosmetics to release following the much raved Encara BB Cream, I still made my research and created this look for Shey.

Koreans are known for their wonderfully pore-less porcelain skin, especially the female Korean celebrities. They either look like they're not wearing any makeup on or they have a prominent eyeliner to make their eyes the focal point.

Shey already has wonderful skin to start with, but what I focused on is to making it look bright and radiant without being anything shiny. I prepped her skin with my all-time proven and tested combo: Celeteque Hydration moisturizer and Encara BB Cream. I set it with loose powder and FS powder foundation to make it more long-lasting. Then I slightly contoured her face to create dimension.

Even though she had full bangs, I made sure to define her brows carefully. I slightly created a somewhat straight looking brows as this is actually the trend. Google photos of Korean celebs and you'll know what I mean. ;)
As for her eyes, I prepped it with UD eyeshadow primer potion to avoid creasing, pat on NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk and dabbed on iridescent white shadow. Then to complete the KPop look, I created the winged liner which was a little thin from the inside corners and thicker to the outer corner of the upper lash line. I extended it towards the middle of her lower lash line. She then requested to put on her own glitter lashes that her mom and sister said is her fave pair. Cute!

To finish of the whole makeup, I then applied coral pink blush, pink lip color and gloss plus a tinsy bit of highlter on to the high spots of her face.

To finally pull-off the KPop-inspired vibe, I curled her hair to give more volume and ironed out her fringe.

Like mother, like daughter... Ms. Michelle also has amazing skin. I even asked about her beauty secret and she said nothing. hehe! I swear she looks super young and she resembles Angel Locsin too. ;)

And on to her makeover, I used browns and pinks for her eyes, flushed cheeks and gorgeous pink lips. The bright light pink lip color adds to the youthful feel of this look.

Her hair was curled to give volume and sophistication.

And this is Vangie, Shey's sister...
She too, of course has amazing skin. You can see in her smile how much of a beautiful and cheerful person she is. ;)
It's always easy to do makeup when your client is this nice.

Since her skin is already very nice, I only did applied the same basic skin stuff, subtle browns and purples at the corners of her lids for the eyeshadow, plus some thin lashes. I applied peachy pink blush to add a youthful glow on to her cheeks. I then give her a bubblegum pink lips to finish off the look.
Her locks were curled using a big curling iron to create volume and movement.

Shey's debut was really very special. Everyone had an amazing night especially the debutante and her family. I always feel proud when my clients are happy. It signifies how well we've done what we needed to. Being a makeup artist is truly a blessing for me. We hold such an important job and that is to always make our clients look and feel their most beautiful. :)

Teen Beauty Johara

I always love and enjoy sharing with you my makeup makeovers.

Today's post is another one I did yesterday. It's always hard to travel when the rains pour in like there's no tomorrow. But strong winds and rain did not stop me to go to my lovely client. Hehe!

Meet my beautiful teen client yesterday Johara. Jo, as her family calls her, is actually the younger sister of my student chef client Lei. (See that entry here)

Lei asked me to help her sister out and prepare for their school acquaintance party.

Considering that this girl's only 15, I made sure to give her very natural and fresh looking makeup.

Johara's lovely look for that night...

On her skin I used Celeteque Hydration moisturizer, Encara BB Cream, mixed two more foundation shades to add dimension back on to her face. I used a peach concealer from my 20 color palette and thinned it out using Encara, applied on to her under eyes. Everything was set with powder and did contour her face using deeper shade of matte brown powder.

Her brows was already full, so I only cleaned up underneath, brushed them with Etude House's Color My Brows in #2 to lighten the look, and defined the ends using my In2it brow powder. I soooo love using my new Sigma brow brush.

For her eyes, I used subtle taupes, browns and little shimmers to add natural colors and glow. I lined her upper lash line with Maybelline's gel liner, curled her lashes and applied a few coats of waterproof mascara.

On her lips, I applied a thin coat of Wet 'n Wild Megalast Lipstick in 904B Rose-bud and topped it off with NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Candy Land.

For her hair, she first requested for a messy updo. I showed her this style and she liked it better. This is a half up half down hair with curly ends and volume at the crown area. I think this style suits her more youthful look. What do you think? ;)

Yay! I missed having photos with my clients. I always forget asking for a picture after all the makeovers. Hehe! That's me, Jo and her sister Lei. :)

I think this beautiful girl resembles Kristine Hermosa's sister! I just forgot the name of that actress. Hehehe!

Brookfield's Female Chefs Makeover

Hello everyone! Remember when I said in my previous post sthat I've done lots of makeovers in the past days and weeks? Yeah..I wasn't kidding. :)
I feel really blessed to be able to share my passion for makeup and beautifying to more and more people.

Over a week ago, I posted the official photos that my photographer friend Ned released on his FB page. Those were Brookfield's Culinary Arts program's graduation photos. If you haven't seen those photos, click here.

Well today, as I know most of my lovely readers come back for this kind of posts, I'm sharing with you the makeover photos of the female chefs from that shoot. I did 10 in total, 5 ladies and 5 men. So this should be part 1. ;)

Before I started doing the makeovers, I was told that chefs aren't actually allowed to put on makeup when they're working on the kitchen in real life. Hehe! This shoot was organized so that the culinary students would have souvenirs for when they were still studying the course. Since that was the scenario, what I did was to give them the most natural look. If you've seen the actual photos, they look like they almost don't have makeup on. The goal was to achieve natural, fresh and almost-no-makeup look. :)

To achieve fresh and natural looking makeup, I made sure to even out their skin, highlight the parts that needed it and contoured. For their cheeks, I applied subtle pink/coral/mauve shade that would give them that natural flush and healthy looking face.

For the lips, I picked a color that would actually look like their natural lips, but better.

Since they were to wear a 'tok' (tall white chef's hat), their hair were just sleekly combed to look more neat.

I super had fun on this shoot! I was actually telling them I wanted to go enroll there too. I want to learn how to bake and do pastries too. Hihi! Maybe someday...

FOTD: Current Fave Sexy Smokey Eye

If you've seen my recent post about mom's pin-up inspired makeover last Saturday, (if you haven't Click HERE), you've probably noticed I got my makeup trolley set up at home. When mom left, I had to think twice if I were gonna fix my things already or... yes, you guessed that right! I just couldn't resist playing with them and putting makeup on myself too. Haha! (Sayang naman! Nasa harap ko na lahat o!) Plus, I had to try out how well my new Sigma brushes work. hihi!

Today's FOTD is my current go-to smokey eye makeup that I do whenever I want to feel sexy... ;)

I do not know why but just very recently, I'm kind of more into browns and black for my eye makeup. I never used to like black pencils but I'm loving them now. Applying a thin or thick black liner on your lash line and blending them is an easy starter for a good smokey eyes. Then I pat on deep browns to slightly intensify the look. Apply lighter shades but with the same tone on the crease to create dimension. Make sure to blend out the edges to achieve a seamless smokey eye makeup.

Pin-up Inspired Makeup for Mom

Happy Sunday beautiful people!

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I've been doing lots of makeup makeovers recently, that today I'm sharing with you my client for yesterday. And she's no other than my beautiful mom, Whelma! =)

Mom attended a friend's 25th wedding anniversary at Manila Hotel last night and as usual, I did her hair and makeup. I always here the phrase "proud mom" but hey, this time I'm the proud daughter. Mom looks super gorgeous, I betcha! You need to read more and see the photos for yourself! ;)

This is how my makeup station looked like yesterday. I actually posted this photo on my FB page coz I wanted to immediately share to my siblings (who are not living with us anymore), who just got off my beauty chair. Hihi!

She just had her nails painted red, her purse is red and I believe her shoes was actually red. She just was not able to wear 'em yet when I took the outfit pictures. :D

So, Mom specifically requested for red lips. And being a good daughter, I exclaimed a loud "Sure!" hehe! Since I was imagining a bold red lip for her, I thought of downplaying the emphasis on her eyes. After defining her brows, I applied primer on her lids and just pat a matte light powder foundation on them. I used a medium matte brown shadow and lightly blended it on to her crease to give a subtle contour and slightly lift her hooded eyes. I used black gel liner to achieve an almost pin-up inspired eye look, except the winged lines. I brushed a few coats of my current favorite mascara, the Deer Eyes Volume Mascara. Though mom requested for falsies so I cut a false lash into two and glued them on her outer lashes lines.

Oh and before that, I used my all-time favorite face combo on her... that's Celeteque hydration moisturizer and Encara BB Cream. I mixed a good few foundation to build a little more coverage and then set it with powder. I contoured her face to give it a look with dimension and flushed pink cheeks. And for that eye-catching puckers, I used NYX slim lip liner in Orange and topped it off with Wet 'n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Stoplight Red. That was it and voila! Ultra sexy makeup that I really think, Mom rocked! Don't you agree? :D

Oh and after all that, I sprayed a few sprits of my new love Urban Decay All Nighter makeup setting spray. :)

I actually planned to immediately blog about her makeover right after she left but I thought I'd just wait for the pictures from the event. She and her friends did a dance number during the reception. She said they danced to J.Lo's On the Floor. That's just so cool! :D

Mom came home super happy! She look just like when she left, makeup still intact and her lipstick was still full on. I asked her if she did retouch. She said she just blotted her nose and forehead as that's where she usually gets oily a lot. And she loved the lipstick! She said it was still intact even after they ate dinner. Yay! She just very lightly reapplied coz she wanted it brighter. Hehe!

Fresh Makeup for Entourage Beauties

Today's post is another set of makeover(s) I did over a week ago.

Meet my college friend Kimmi, who I've always been told looks so much like me. We've been called and mistaken to be the other one a number of times. We recalled how his then-boyfriend-now-husband who was also my classmate in one subject, got surprised I look so much like her. Haha! It was fun reminiscing and seeing her again with her lovely family.

Enough with my blabbering and let's get on with the makeover. ;)

Kimmi requested for curly hair and as I'm loving side-swept hair at the moment, I did a curly side-swept for her hair. I used a 1-inch curling iron to achieve tighter curls.

As she will be attending as a bridesmaid, I gave her a fresh looking makeup but with still lively colors. I initially groomed her brows into shape to frame her face and make it look more awake. Doing so (correctly) instantly lifts your face up. Grooming was the most challenging part but filling them in and defining it was easy. Then I applied my favorite water-based moisturizer which is Celeteque Hydration and then I used Encara BB Cream to even out her skin tone and give it a brightened up look, especially on her under eyes.

I used plums and browns for her eyes, lined them and highlighted the inner corners. I curled and coated her lashes with a good 2-swipes of mascara to open up her eyes even more. I swear she has the longest pair of lashes I know and have ever seen. I contoured her face and applied blush with iridescent shimmers to give a light glow on her cheeks. Used a peachy pink color for her lips for a glowing youthful look.

I also did makeup for her little angel, JL. Hihi!! They're such a cute mother-daughter tandem. This lovely kid was candidly excited about getting her makeup done. Since most kids rub their eyes often, I only used a coral pink shadow over UD primer potion. Applied coral pink blush so she'll have that fresh natural flush of color too. She loved her pink-mauve lips the most!

Aside from Kimmi and her daughter, I also glammed up Tita Baby. She's Kimmi's husband's aunt. :)
I did her hair makeup but I forgot to take a photo of the hairstyle. It was a half-up, half-down with volume at the crown area. :)
Super fresh makeup, gorgeous glowing skin, defined brows, neutral colors and defined eyes, flushed peachy pink cheeks and bright pink lipstick. :)

I feel so blessed to have the nicest clients ever. Thank you Lord!

Makeover for Alyssa

I know I'm lacking up on posts but I hope to make it up to all of you with this wonderful makeover. ;)

Two Fridays ago, my niece Alyssa once again asked for my help to give her a makeover as she was joining a pageant for school. This girl's ultra talented in dancing and bagged the Best in Talent award.

I'm such a proud Tita! When I last glammed her up months ago for their grad ball, she was named "Star of the Night"(blog here) Certified award-winning beauty and talent! Hihi!

It used to be that Alyssa was too shy about her hair as she was teased by her peers because it's this frizzy. But I remember always telling her that this will be her trademark and she should be proud and just rock it. I've seen this kind of hair in hundreds of Beyonce's videos, may it be on her or on her dancers. It's just too hot to not notice! ;)

As she later embraced her lovely locks, it indeed became her trademark and added more impact to her dancing skills, I dare say. hihi! :D

We did a couple of hairstyles and I taught her a few ones that time as I could not join her during the pageant. I knew she'd do well and she really did. ;)

High pony with bun at the crown

Her skin I believe because of all the stress you get in college has a few breakouts. To spot conceal those dark spots and also lighten and brighten up her under eyes, I used my ever trusted Encara BB Cream. I then custom-mixed a few foundations to add dimension to her face . Contoured and set her face with Fanny Serrano 2-way powder in Chino, Organza and Rajah.

Smokey brown shadows for her eyes' crease, smoked out black liner at the roots of her lashes, highlighted inner eye corners and beautifully groomed brows. This gives an instant pop of sexiness that's not too over-powering. I used UD eyeshadow primer potion, 26 colors BH palette for the browns, Tropez highlighting color, Nichido black kohl pencil for her eyes. For her brows, I used my currently trusted combo: AVON Ultra luxury brow definer in Dark Brown and In2it brow powder trio and finished it off with Etude House Color my brows in #2.

TO complete this sophisticated look, I finished it up by lining her lips using AVON Ultra Luxury lip liner in Wild Berry and filled them in with Jordana lipstick in Radiant Red.

Last Monday, I was privileged to render my services for the graduation pictorial of the chefs and students of Brookfield College's Culinary Arts Program.

Wish List Haul: Urban Decay, Make Up Forever, Sigma

They always say, wishes are only for kids and they only happen in fairy tales. Well, what I'm sharing today is truly a dream come true. Hihi. I've wished for these things and have listed them on my "To Own List" for the longest time and they're finally mine now. Hihi. Though not like in fairy tales where a magical character surprisingly answers your wishes, to get these things I've worked for the hardest (blood, sweat, tears and all! Haha!). And I'm still extremely happy like a kid! =)

Last Saturday after doing Tita Perla's makeover for her Renewal of Vows (makeover post here), I went home with a package that I've long been waiting for! I've finally decided to cross out some of the top things in my wish list. :D

And then a week later, just yesterday, another big purchase came...something I've always for the longest possible time I know wished to have and own.

1st package includes: Urban Decay Naked Palette, Urban Decan Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Professional Size, Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray 4oz, Make Up Forever Powder Blush in #92

The All-Nighter spray I've used a lot already because I've had lots of makeup gigs the past week and it works! =) Will try this on myself soon and I'll definitely do a review on it.

This is pure LOVE. :)

I've read, heard and watched gazillion of reviews about this ultimate nude palette and they always say it looks creamy, soft and fine. I've not touched this yet but looking at the shadows from the pan very closely, I can really notice how this differs with my current palettes.

I've tried my best to capture the true color of this shade but I can't. My camera's not giving justice to how much of a matte brilliant purple this is.

The 2nd package which arrived yesterday includes the Sigma 12pc Essential Kit - Professional Brushes plus a free travel-size E25 blending brush! Yay! And Make Up Forever Powder Blush in #75

I love how this set has variations in terms of purpose. I've tried a few last night and oh my...they're lovely! I feel like I can really be a better makeup artist with this set. hahaha!

This color's coming off too neon in the photo but in real life, it has more of a purple tinge but is still also bright. :)

My current wish list is still very long as I want to upgrade my Pro MUA kit and fill it in with the highest quality products. But with these few tidbits and pieces of addition to my collection, I already feel really happy and blessed. Thinking how much I've worked for them to be finally mine. :)
I am definitely eyeing to get more things before the year ends and I'd gladly share them with you.
Like all hauls, I'm not showing these to brag what I have or anything. I just wanted to share them to inspire everyone. ;)

Renewal of Vows: Bride - Perla

Good morning beautiful people! =)
I have been truly busy with work the past week thus the lack of post. I'm being blessed to have more makeup work than I'd imagine and I am very thankful.
Last Saturday was a pleasure as I was tasked to help Tita Perla to prep up for her and Tito Monching's 25th Wedding Anniversary and Renewal of Vows. :)
She's my long-time friend Ingrid's mom. It was fun going back to their home, after over a decade. I used to always go there whenever we'd have projects to accomplish and dance and plays to rehearse. We all couldn't even believe time passed by that quickly.

Tita Perla, or Nanay as her children lovingly calls her (I swear I'd love my future children to call me that too, hehe!), has amazing skin to start with so doing her makeup was effortless. I prepped up her skin with my favorite combo Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer and Encara BB Cream. For added coverage, I used Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation in some areas.

Since it was a morning wedding event, I opted for the neutral browns and subtle rose pinks for her eyes, flushed coral-pink cheeks and a little brighter pink for the lips.

Lovely smile! =)

Tita looked radiant on her cute haltered white dress and silver sparkly sheer bolero.

I should have taken a photo of her shoes too. It was sparkly and amazing!

And as for her hair, I did a half-up, half down do. Teased the crown part to add more volume and parted on one side. I curled the ends to add a more romantic feel to it.

Nanay and Tatay ♥

I sooo loved it when the whole family lined up and walked down the aisle for the procession. I am still very happy to have witnessed this family gathering full of love and joy. Ingrid (on silver dress) being one of the nicest and jolliest persons I know sure proves how awesome their family is and how well her parents brought her up and gaaaah, I'm missing my Dad even more. I was near crying taking this picture. Hihi. The event was very intimate as we were probably more or less than 20 who went there including the family and guests. Definitely a memory worth keep for a lifetime.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to your family, Tito and Tita! May you have more blessed years to come. =)

80s Inspired Makeup for GoGreen Models

I've shown you a preview and today I'm finally sharing you all the before and after photos from my recent makeup work with the Go Green Models. =) (See Preview photos here.)

My peg for that day was 80s inspired makeup. During the first two sets of outfits, the models wore 80s polkadots on big skirts and colorful dresses. When I think of the 80s, all I can imagine is a flash full of bright colors.

Nowadays though, I think it's only on shows like these that someone could actually sport thick and dark brows, bright shimmer teal and hot pink eyes, strong pink flushed and contoured cheeks then finished off with bright purple-pink lips all at once. This looks so dolly and Barbie-like to me. Hehe! I actually love what I did on these beautiful girls. :D

What's even more surprising is the lipstick I used, I've had it for quite awhile and it's always a revelation whenever I get to use it again. :D

What is it? Ever Bilena Pro Lipstick with Shimmer in Berry Rose

I did makeup for a total of 14 faces and it took me almost 4 hours to finish.

My body got sore, haha! But I had a lot of fun!

What's On My Desk Today

I just wanted to share with you all what my desk looks like today. ♥ ♥ ♥

I am not yet telling anyone what all these are specifically but I just thought I'd share with you what's been keeping me busy the past days and weeks. ;)

Korean beauty loot! =)

I've been trying out a whole new lot of products. Been testing out which ones are actually good enough to share with you all. Once I finally do get a fair time using and testing these out, I'll most definitely do a review and share with you how to get your hands on them.

Some are already becoming standouts so watch out for it! =)

I've actually already told some of my blogger friends about me holding a lot of things to test out, and this post will be a teaser for everyone as to what products to expect we'd come out in the next few weeks.

After introducing to you the now much raved and loved Encara BB Cream (Review HERE), we now have this.

Coming very soon is a new batch of carefully chosen products that I believe most, if not all of us would love.
