Well hello there Dollies!!! I know-I know, I am officially a bad Beauty-Blogger/Vlogger. However, I have been gone with good reason. I know not everyone will think it's good enough or even care, but for those of you who do, I will share. (HA, that rhymed!)

If you remember from my past posts, I have been dealing with really painful and deep acne. I tried everything available over the counter and also stopped wearing makeup all together--just to make sure it wasn't any of that. I finally gave up and spoke to my Doctor. She prescribed me some goodies which have worked WONDERS on my skin. At first the medication made my skin a bit sensitive, so I didn't want to use any cosmetics. I was determined to do what I could to better my skin. My face is by no means 100% clear, BUT I am thankful for how well it looks and to be pain-free.

So, other than just not having as much time as I wish I had to make videos and type posts, my skin issue has been to blame for my absence. I truly appreciate those of you have have stuck by my Blog, YouTube Channel, Beautylish and even Twitter! It made me realize how many of you are truly here for me, and not just for content. Thank you.

The Happiest Place on Earth, Indeed!!

This Summer has started off wonderfully and I thought I'd share some pictures of our recent trip to Anaheim!! No, it is not beauty related, but who doesn't love Disneyland pictures?! You will notice that we spent most of our time in FantasyLand and did not get on the "Big Kid" rides. That was simply because it was my little one's Birthday trip, so our day at Disneyland was all for him. Honestly, I never thought I could have so much fun riding only the kiddie rides! HAHAHA!!!

This was the wonderful Hotel we stayed at.

I absolutely love palm trees. They make me think of paradise.

We didn't get to ride this roller coaster this time around,

One of the new rides I was extremely pleased with was

The Little Mermaid. It was such a greatly engineered ride!

Mickey's Fun Wheel was a great ride to rest our feet on.

Plus the breeze up at the top felt so wonderful!

I had such a wonderful time with my family. There is truly nothing

better than spending a magical day with the people you love.

4th of July Nails in 5 Minutes!!

Although I'm a lover of beautiful nail art, I actually do not own any nail art supplies. The closest thing I have are some sticker stencils that came in my Wet'N'Wild Summer Bucket from CVS. They are no good, by the way.

I still wanted to join in the 4th of July nail art festivies, so here is what I came up with. I used the polishes from that previously mentioned Wet'N'Wild Summer Bucket.

IMATS LA 2011 (International Makeup Artists Trade Show) is first thing tomorrow morning! I have a bit of a drive to make, but it will definitely be worth it. I cannot believe it has already been a full year since last years madness. I am extremely excited to discover some new brands and revisit some old favorites. I thought about making a list of things I am looking forward to checking out, but I think I will just leave that for my next post. There I will share all the goodies I was able to purchase.

I will only be attending Saturday's show, which has already been reported as Sold Out! I can only imagine how hectic the floor is going to be! I hope to see some of you there!

Keep Your Receipts, Girls!

Not that long ago, I picked up Physician's Formula's Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer in Fair to Light, hoping to finally find a tinted moisturizer worth repurchasing. Well, I take the tinted moisturizer out of the box and check out the back, only to find out it's expired. YUCK!!

CVS will let you exchange products without the box, so long as it wasn't a clearance item they no longer carry and you have your receipt. My problem is that I'm already past the 30 days you have to return or exchange an item. Oh well! I'm glad I got this for only a few dollars.

Here is my question though, "Why is this still on the shelves when it expired in 2010?!" All I can think of is how disgusting this stuff must smell. I'm glad it came with a little foil seal. Again, "Yuck!"

Has this happened to any of you? This is actually my first time having a product I've purchased be expired. I'm glad I always check expiration dates on any product I buy.

As a Girl who's more obsessed with makeup than nail polish I have to admit, I truly appreciate a great deal on well pigmented polishes. No better place to find a fabulous deal than my local drugstore, right!?

Wet'N'Wild released an awesome little Summer Bucket of 8 colorful nail polishes, a 24 pack of stencil stickers with white stencil polish, a large nail file, and 2 toe separators. As you can see in the picture below, all this was only $10 US!

I'm sure many of you have heard of the extremely popular Clarisonic brand. They have had the wonderful and highly raved about Clarisonic Mia.

The main drawback to this product for me has been it's price tag. At $149 US, I was not really giving it a second glance. You can find it for a bit cheaper through Amazon or Ebay. However, now that Sigma Beauty has released a Cleansing and Polishing tool at only $39, I won't ever be looking back!!

Physician's Formula Extravaganza!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial weekend. I was lucky enough to spend each day with tons of family, so you can bet there was LOTS of delicious food! However, let's not forget what this weekend is meant for -- our service members past and present.

You Can Never Have Too Many Brushes!!

I'm sure I start many of my posts this way, but...

If you follow me on Twitter or Youtube, you have already seen a quick appearance of these beauties. If you don't have a Twitter, you can "Like" my Facebook Page. I have a Twitter app on there so you can read up on my everyday shenanigans. HAHA!

I purchased the Borghese Professional 10 Brush Set at my local Costco

for $23.99US a few weeks ago. It is a mix of natural and synthetic brushes.

I also talked about them a bit in a quick update video, but I really wanted

to take my time in using them before telling you my thoughts on them.

The Powder Kabuki Brush is extremely dense and soft,

as a Kabuki Brush should be.

The only downfall was the drying time of this brush when washing it.

Because of its density, it does absorb a lot more water.

The Angled Brush is wonderful for gel liners. When I first started using

MAC's Fluidline, the first brush I used with it was an angled one. It can

also be used to fill in the brows using eye shadows or brow powders.

The Angled Contour Brush is great when used to blend out harsh

crease color, as well as brow bone highlight colors.

It is not only angled, it is also round and completely flat-topped.

The Domed Smudge Brush fits perfectly in my crease, so I have been

using it for crease-work, as well as blending out the color. The size is

a bit intimidating, but if you know how to place it on your eyelid, it is a great brush!

The Eyeshadow Brush is a soft tapered brush. It's soft, but more flat than round.

It is great for distributing color all over the lid. I had been wanting to add a brush

of this size to my collection, so I was happy to have it come in the set.

The Eye Powder Fluff Brush can be used for blending shadows together

in large areas. I have personally been using this brush to highlight my

cheekbones. This brush is small enough to distribute highlighting powder

perfectly over my cheeks, while being fluffy enough not to create a harsh line.

The Concealer Brush is very well made. It's soft yet stiff, so it will feel

comfortable on the skin, while being able to apply thicker concealers well.

The Angled Contour Brush is a beautiful brush. It is a bit bigger

than my MAC and Crown Brush Counter brushes,

so I use this one for adding bronzer all over the face.

The Duo Fiber Blending Brush is one of my favorite types of brushes in general.

It can be used with many different products because of the fact that it's made with

two different kinds of fibers. You can apply a very natural layer of foundation

with it, or applying any liquid or creme products on the cheeks and face.

The last brush in this set is a very unique one to my personal collection.

It is the Round Foundation Brush. It is a domed shaped and fits perfectly

in my under-eye area, as well as around my nose. I have been using this

brush along with my flat concealer brush for blending out the concealer.

I don't think this brush is ideal for all over foundation application because of its small point.

It also came with a nice Brush Roll for when you travel. Makes it easy to

keep the bristles on your brush from getting bent and damaged.

So there you have it! Overall, for $23.99 I can not say anything truly bad about this set. All the brushes are useful to me in one way or another. The handles feel nice in the hand and are not heavy. The bigger brushes did shed before washing, but I have no had a problem since. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this set and they did not wreak of chemicals as past sets have. I am very happy that I got my hands on these and am already looking forward to the next one. Only a fellow Makeup Junkie can relate to that last comment. HAHA!

These brushes do appear to be available online (click the first picture) however, they are listed for $29.99 and there may be a shipping charge. Also, if you are not a Costco member, you may be able to purchase these but there may be an extra charge for that.

Don't have a membership? My advice is to find a friend or a friend's parent and ask them to take you to Costco and get them for you! Don't forget to offer to buy them lunch at the food court for their kindness. Even with buying them lunch there, a slice of pizza and soda is only like a $1.50!

I hope this was helpful to any of you who have been eyeing this set or are looking for a starter set.

Travel-Sized Giveaway!! Closed

Hey there Dollies!!! I hope that in some way or another, you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had a wonderful day with my Boys. They bought me a bouquet of roses, an adorable balloon, a wonderful lunch and a relaxing day. I think the best part of all were all the extra hugs and kisses I received all day.

On the way home from the festivities, we swung by my PO BOX

and saw that my very first Sigma Brush had arrived!

If you watch my Videos and follow my Twitter, you know I am not huge fan of purchasing things without being able to touch and test them out first. This mostly goes for new companies. Sigma Beauty has been very popular within the Youtube beauty community, but I needed to see these brushes in person first. As soon as I heard that they were going to be at IMATS LA this year, I knew that would be my chance to really test out their brushes and potentially stock up!!

I received their Travel Size E25 for review, BUT not just that!

I'll also be able to give one away to one of you!! YAY!!

This particular Sigma brush is a travel version

of their original E25 Brush, shown below.

If you're looking for a reference, I guess you could compare it to

MAC's 217 brush, except Sigma's E25 is a bit flatter,

feels a lot softer, and at only $9.00, it is less than half the price!

The Sigma brush could very well be softer because it's brand spankin' new though.

Either way, I am really impressed!

I tested this brush out the minute we got home (after disinfecting it, of course) and I truly adore it. It feels soft on the skin which is very important. No one likes a prickly brush, especially in the eye area. Overall, Sigma's E25 is the perfect brush for highlight colors on the brow bone as well as blending crease color out. Also, if you're ever in a rush and could only take one brush with you, this type of blending brush is the one.

Subtle Brightness

For those of you who follow my Blog, Twitter and YouTube Channel, you may have noticed that I took somewhat of a leave of absence. I had a lot of things going on in my life and did not have the energy or time for myself. I use Blogging and Videos as a form of relaxation. Makeup is something I have been passionate about for a long time now, so blogging and making videos about it is what I do JUST for me. As many of you may be aware of, Earth Day is this Friday, April 22nd. It is mainly a day to remember how precious our Earth really is and inspire us to be more environmentally friendly. As small as one single action may seem, everything makes a difference. I am an avid user of the reusable totes when grocery shopping. Some of them are extremely cute, so why not?
