I can say one of the reasons that we take our car to a mechanic for little things is because we don't have the tools or the knowledge. We can get the knowledge for free online or in a library book but not the tools. Well, now we have a free solution to that problem!

Auto Zone has a Loan A Tool program! They have over 60 tools for various car systems that are free to use. You just place a deposit, use the tool and then return the tool and receive 100% of the deposit back! That is it!

SC Johnson Rebate

This is one of the easiest rebates ever! All you have to do is buy 3 SC Johnson products (Glade, Windex, Raid and a ton more) between 10/1/09 and 6/30/10. Then just fill out the form and mail it in! Now the only down side is that multi packs count as 1 but that isn't really a problem;). It is a pdf that will need to be downloaded.

Combine this with a couple of coupons and a sale and I think there is a good chance we will all be getting free product!

All you have to do is buy any bath or lotion product, then send in the receipt (dated between 9/28/09 and 12/1/09) to get a free bath toy frog set. That is it! I like Sweet Tomatoes! It is a fixed price (that can be made better with their frequent coupons) for all the very yummy salad, bread and soup you can eat! What could be better? I recently went there with a friend for a girls night out (with passes I got for hosting this giveaway;) and it was so much fun! What I hadn't remembered were all the teenagers. There were soccer and track teams there along with families. I guess that is how you know it is a great financial deal;). Before we get to the giveaway let us talk about the contest.

The CONTEST and the COUPON:

On October 1, Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants announced the crEATe Recipe Contest (http://www.souplantation.com/create/) . Throughout the month of October, guests can submit their recipes for mouth-watering combinations made entirely from Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes menu items through the Web site, Facebook page, or by e-mail. Ten finalists will be chosen in November and all guests will be invited to vote for their favorite finalist in December. The winning recipe and chef will be announced in January and will win a year’s worth of free passes and the chance to be featured in an upcoming ad. Just for entering you will get a coupon!

Here are the create contest rules: The contest is open to restaurant guests in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas Utah and Washington. Guests must submit their recipe and a photo of themselves alongside the completed dish by October 31. The recipe must contain at least 2 to 5 Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes menu items only and will be judged based on menu and visual appeal, ingredient list, and creativity. Recipes and photos can be submitted online at http://www.souplantation.com/create, on the Facebook page, or by email to create@gardenfreshcorp.com

The EVENT and the DEAL:

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants are also announcing the Pajama-Rama event on Sunday, October 18th in celebration of National Pajama Month! Children are invited to roll out of bed and head straight to a restaurant location for the 3rd Annual Pajama-Rama and have a free breakfast from 9am to noon with the purchase of an adult meal. Breakfast items include Belgian waffles, French toast, egg scramble foccacia, cinnamon chip biscuits, potatoes O’Brien, make-your-own breakfast burritos and much more!

WFMW: Ask and Ye Shall Receive

We have all been there... You spy something in the store that could help you organize but it is not for sale.

It could actually be something that the store might be throwing out but you don't know how to get it. It can be the apple holders out of the bottom of an apple box that would be great to hold ornaments. Or in my most recent case, show boxes. So how do we go about getting them without embarrassing ourselves? I say suck it up and ask. I needed shoe boxes to organize some stuff. I was walking in Target and they had a big basket just full of shoe boxes so I decided to ask what they were going to do with them. The associate said they were just going to recycle them and that I should feel free to take as many as I wanted! I picked out specific sizes and everything!

Another time I was making chocolate cakes (4) for a baby shower and needed to transport them. I couldn't find the right kind of boxes any where so I called Vons. They let me come down and pay them just a couple of bucks and I got a whole stack of boxes!

The moral....If you see something a store doesn't sell and you want just ask!

About a week ago I went to Fashion Bug and got these cute pieces. I picked up all 3 for less than $35! Fashion Big was running 50% off the clearance and then I had a $5 off $25 that I got printed from a receipt at Walgreens. If you can't tell from the pic... I got a cute dress, brown top and a 3/4 sleeve denim jacket! Such a deal!
