Earning Neopoints from referring other users to join Neopets can be turned into a black hat affair. Instead of actually referring other people, you can set up multiple accounts from your referral code and refer yourself. But you need to make sure that you don’t use the same computer if you refer more than five times as your IP address get recorded. So, you can use a different computer or use an anonymous proxy server to sign up to fake accounts.

The more people you refer then better the prizes you will receive. For example, if you sign up 40 people you will receive lots of codestones which can be used in the Training school. You may not believe this, but there is a high score table and the user who is at position one has referred 7534. I am not actually sure how this person has referred so many people. Although this person has been playing Neopets for nine years which could explain why the referral number is so high.

Moltara Worm Quest

There is a new quest available inside Moltara City where you have to collect worms. To start this quest you firstly have to visit the light shop called “Lampwyck’s Light Fantastic”. A random event will occur and you will find an Empty Lantern in your inventory. You have to use this lantern to collect the worms which are spread around the Moltara area.

I believe there are 10 worms in total, each of the worms have a different colour that have to be collected to fill up the lantern. The worms should not be too difficult to spot as they are coloured very differently from the background which makes them easy to spot.

Advent calendar reminder

This post is to remind everyone that the advent calendar is coming to an end fairly soon. Remember the advent calendar will only last for 31 days in December, after this day you will need to wait another year for the advent calendar to appear.

Everyday you can claim free prizes from the advent calendar. These prizes normally come in the form of a unique items or Neopoints. The unique items can be sold in your shop for a profit, or you can keep the items in your safety deposit for collecting.

Claiming your free prizes will only take a couple of minutes and you can end up with a few hundred Neopoints and some nices items.

Neopets Advert calendar 2009

Christmas is coming very soon. Every year at December the 1st Neopets release an advert calendar. This means Neopets gives away free Neopoints, free items and prizes, but remember you can only claim your prizes once. So, don’t hesitate claim your free prizes now!

This could be a potential Black hat Neopoint series where you could create multiple accounts, and sell the items you gain for a profit. You have to remember that if you get caught all your accounts could get frozen.

Block Ad in Neopets with Firefox

If you frequently use the Neopets then you will have probably noticed the amount of advertisement on the website. Lots of ugly adverts can be distracting to the user, especially is they blink or flash repeatedly. Fortunately, there is an add-on in Firefox that completely blocks all the adverts from the pages.

The Firefox add-on is called Adblock Plus, and like the name suggest it block ads. The installation of this Add-on couldn’t be simpler, all you need to do is click the ‘Add to Firefox’ button and it automatically installs the add-on for you. After, you will be prompted for a restart and where you get the option of apply filters rules. Filters are basically a list of know adverts that will automatically block. I suggest you choose the ‘EasyList’ subscription.

When you have finished setting up this add-on you will now have an ad-free page in Neopets. You will never get distracted by an advert again.

Make Neopoints from broken toys

An easy way to make some Neopoints is to buy broken toys or broken bags of Neopoints. Broken toys/Neopoints can sometimes be found in the underwater fishing cave, and can also be searched for in the shop wizard.

You may think that broken goods are completely useless, but you can actually repair the broken toys in the Toy Shop. When the broken toys get fixed you can sell your toys for a small profit.

However, many people know about the Toy repair shop, so when you search in the shop wizard for broken toys. You will find that the prices are usually high for broken toys. A solution would be to simply place your broke toys directly into your shop instead of getting them repaired.

Another tip would be to search for mispriced goods in the shop wizard. Newbie’s believe broken toys are worthless, so sell the items in there shop for really cheap. You can take advantage of this situation and make some Neopoints, but you better be quick because there are a lot of users on Neopets.

BHNS – Sharing Neopoints Interest

This is part two of the Black hat Neopoint series.

We all know you get daily interest from the bank depending on the amount of the Neopoints you have saved. If you have very little Neopoints saved in bank then the interest you will receive will also be very little. On the other hand, if you have tonnes of the Neopoints in the bank then you will probably receive a healthy amount of daily interest.

Here comes the sneaky part. You firstly need to find a group of people who play Neopoints. Then you place everyone’s Neopoints into a single bank account. This means that you will gain the accumulated interest of all the Neopoints from the single account. So, by having all your Neopoint account you gain the benefits of gaining larger amounts of daily interest payments.

Say, for example you have 10 friends or people you know who play Neopets. You need to deposit everyone’s Neopoints into a single account. If everyone has approximately 400,000np currently saved in there bank account then you would have roughly 4 million if everyone placed there Neopoints into a single account.

BHNS – Open multiple accounts

This is part one of the Black hat Neopoint series.

It is a Neopet rule that you can open up to five accounts per computer. This is because you may have other family members that share the same computer as yourself, and Neopets do not want to penalise you for opening multiple accounts. However, if nobody else in your family plays Neopets on the same computer then this loop hole can be exploited.

If you play five different Neopet accounts you can greatly increase the amount of Neopoints you will earn. I will list some of the main reasons below:

•In the games rooms you can play the games more than 3 times. If you have one account you can only send the score of a game three times, but if you play five accounts then you can send the score fifth teen times. For example, if you get an average of 2500np per game. You will get 12,500np when you play five accounts.
•The daily do’s tasks can be completed more than once.
•You increase your sources of income by a factor of five.

Why limit yourself to five accounts, when you can open up hundreds of accounts. By opening up another account you will increase you chance of gaining more Neopoints. However, you do run the risk of getting banned if you have more than one account, so be warned.

Black hat Neopoint series

There are many ways of making Neopoints the legit way, but I will write a series teaching some black hat methods of making Neopoints. I must stress that the methods used in this series are against the rule of Neopets, and if you get found out your account could get closed down.

The term ‘black hat’ refers to methods and techniques which are considered as unethical. The black hat Neopoint series aims at doing whatever it takes to acquire Neopoints whether it is ethical or unethical.

Meteor crash site

The meteor crash site is located in Kreludor. Apparently this meteor crashed in the Neopia moon. Every hour you can visit the meteor, you get the option of running away or poking the meteor with a stick. If you run away then nothing will happen, but if you chose to poke the meteor, it may open up and offer you a reward. There are forty different space items you can get rewarded with. Most of these items are useless pieces of junk, although there are some rare items. However, you can still sell these items in your shop for a small profit.

You can probably guess that most of the time nothing will happen when you poke the meteor. Though, if you poke the meteor too often you will normally get a message from an angry scientist.

So, is the meteor site worth visiting? This is a yes or no answer. Firstly, yes because it completely free and you can sell the items you get rewarded from the meteor. And, no because nothing really happens when you poke the meteor.

Neopoints through random events

An easy way to earn Neopoints is through random events. Random events occur when a page on the Neopets website loads. These events can either be positive or negative. Positive event are when you earn Neopoints or items like codestone, food, maps etc. The positive kinds of events are beneficial as you can earn some easy Neopoints. However, there are also negative events which are when your Neopoints get stolen or losing health. So, be sure you do not have a lot of Neopoint on hand because they could easily get stolen through a random event.

The question you are wondering is ‘How can I get a random event?’ This answer is simple, you need to search around the Neopets website as this will reload the page. I estimate that you should get around 1 – 2 random events a day depending on the amount of the pages you visit. So, if you visit more pages then you have a better chance of receiving random event.

If you are using Firefox there is an addon called ‘Refeshnow’ that refreshes the page within a predefined time. This allows you to keep refreshing a page automatically, in the hope of receiving a random event. But you need to be very carefully because Neopets.com doesn’t like it when you refresh a page too much. You need to use this addon with caution.

Snowager tips

The Snowager is a giant monster that lives in the Ice Caves in Neopia. When the Snowager is asleep you can enter the cave and retrieve some items. The only problem is that the Snowager is normally awake during the day. Below I will list the times the Snowager is asleep, please note these times are Neopian Standard Time.

6 – 7 am
2 – 3 pm
10 – 11pm

When the Snowager is asleep you will be able to pickup a prize. These prizes are normally: Plushies, Keyrings, Snowballs, or Scratchcard. However, it is very common that you will be blasted with an icy blast when you collect a prize. This mean the Neopet that visited the Snowager will lose some health. It is also common for the Snowager to wake up when you collect a prize which mean you will not be able to collect a prize.

Earn Neopoints with scratch cards

If you are feeling lucky you can earn Neopoints from scratch cards. To win a scratch card you need to scratch off 3 of the same picture. There is quite a high reward ratio as you can easily double or even triple your initial purchase of a scratch card. There are three different places where you can buy scratch cards.

The first place is the Ice cave Kiosk which is probably the most popular place to get scratch cards. The cost of a scratch card is 600nps, and you can get five different cards which are: Race to Riches, Terror Trove, Faeries Fortune, Peak O Plenty and Icetravaganza. The maximum you can win is 50,000np which is the Jackpot. The prizes of for these cards can be snowballs, plushies, level ups or Neopoints.

The second place is the Deserted Fairground Kiosk which is located in the haunted wood. The cost of a card is 1200np and there are six different cards. The prizes you can win are: snowballs, food, Neopoints, Plushies, level up, and random spooky item.

The third place is the Lost Desert Kiosk which is the least common place for scratch cards. There are six different cards and the cost is 500nps. You receive a lot more prizes for this particular scratch card and the Jackpot is even better.

Underwater fishing tips

Underwater fishing is very easy in Neopets. Simply visit the following link and click the ‘Reel in your Line’ button. Be sure to only click the button once every 24 hours. The underwater fishing should be part of your daily dos.

Every time you successfully fish something out of the lake. Your pet’s fishing skill increased by one level. This does not happen every time you visit the underwater fishing lake.

The higher your pets fishing skill the better the prizes you will receive. You can sell these items in your shop of profit. If you have a low skill level your prizes are completely useless, but you can still sell them in your shop. So, for the best chance to receive good prizes you should increase your fishing skill by visiting the underwater lake everyday.

Making a million Neopoints the quick way

Making a million Neopoints may sound like a difficult task to accomplish, but it’s actually quite straight forward if you look at it from a different perspective. There are 365 days in a year, so this means if you earned 2739nps everyday. You would earn one million Neopoints in a year. If you break up the amount of Neopoints you need to earn everyday then you will make the task of earning a million much easier. So, potentially you could make one million Neopoint in 6 months if you earned 5478nps everyday.

Of course, a lot of people don’t have time to play Neopoints everyday. The trick would be to do the minimum amount of work to earn Neopoints. Below is a breakdown of tasks for the minimum amount of work needed.

Faerie crosswords - I mentioned in a previous post about the faerie crosswords and the daily quiz. This is an easy way to earn roughly 950nps everyday.
Daily do’s – Do all the daily do’s and sell all the stuff you receive. You will probably earn roughly 50nps everyday.
Claim freebies – Remember you can claim 2000nps every month.
Play games – Play the games that give you a high Neopoint ratios. Try to earn roughly 2000nps everyday.

In conclusion, lets me show you your potential earnings from all of the tasks above.

Faerie crosswords: 950np x 365days = 346,750nps
Daily do’s: 50np x 365days = 18,250nps
Claim freebies: 2000np x 12month = 24,000nps
Play games 2000np x 365days = 730,000nps

In a year with the minimum amount of work carried out you would earn 1,119,000nps. Considering the tasks above take less than 10 minutes I believe this amount of Neopoints is very good.

Earn Neopoints from Faerie Crossword

An easy way to make 600nps a day is to do the daily Faerie crossword. The Faerie Crossword is located in Faerieland and basically the library faerie need help filling in the crosswords puzzle.

The rewards for the Neopoints are the following:

600nps for solving the crossword in less than 5 minutes.
400nps for solving the crossword in less than 15 minutes.
200nps for solving the crossword in more than 15 minutes.

In my experience you should be able to complete the crossword in less than 2 minutes by cheating, of course. Over at the thedailyneopets.com you can find a list of the solutions which are updated everyday. You can also find the solutions for the daily puzzle which is located in the pets central.

So, basically in a year if you played the crossword everyday you can earn 219000nps which is very good for 2 minutes work. Also, if you played the daily puzzle everyday you could earn 127750nps. In total if you played both the puzzles every day you would earn 346750nps in a year.

Don’t do any quests

A tip to save Neopoints is to not do any quests. In Neopets there are 10 different quests such as the Brain tree Quests and Kitchen Quests. The majority of these quests cost lots of Neopoints. A quest normally involves purchasing three items random within a specific time period. The items usually range from 5000-8000nps, but can cost anything upwards from 15,000np.

The reward for these quests can either be Nepoints or food item. However, the Neopoints and food items are normally worth less value than the cost of the three items you needed to purchase. So, basically there is no point as you are losing Neopoints. On the other hand, you sometimes receive rare items which you can sell for lots of Neopoints.

How long for a million neopoints? - Part 1

A common question is how long it takes to reach a million Neopoints. This question depends on how much effort you put into it, and also the method of making the Neopoints. For example, if you only played games to make a neopoints. You would need to make 2739nps everyday to make a million in a year. This doesn’t sound like a lot of Neopoints, and would not take you a long time each day to make 2739nps.

If you earn 5000np everyday from games then it would only take 200 days to reach a million Neopoints. If you made 10,000nps then it would take 100 days to reach a million. So, basically the more work you put in the faster it will take to reach a million.

Below is a breakdown of how long it would take to reach a million neopoints from playing games everyday:

2739np = 1 year
5000np = 200 days
10,000np = 100 days
20,000np = 50 days.
40,000np = 25 days.

So, it is actually possible to make 1 million Neopoint in one month.

Neopoints through referrals

An easy way to earn Neopoints is to refer people to sign up to Neopets through your referral code. Your referal code can be found at the ‘link to us’ button at the bottom of each page at Neopets website.

When you refer someone to signup you will receive a referral prize. A prize can either be Neopoints or a rare item, which you can sell. The more people you refer the rarer the prize you will receive. For example, if you refer 40 people to sign up you will receive ‘loads of Codestone’.

A white hat method of getting lots of sign ups is to ask all your friends to signup. Always remember to signup through your referral code or the signups will not count.

On the other hand, a black hat method would be to signup with multiple accounts using your own referral code. If you wish attempt this method, I recommend you do not signup 100 accounts in one session as you will get banned. Only signup 1-3 account every couple of week to avoid you getting banned.

Wheel of Excitement tip

The Wheel of Excitement cost 150nps and gives you one spin of the wheel. There are 16 different prizes that can be won, but only 5 of them gives you Neopoints. So, this means that you have very little chance of winning any Neopoints, not very exciting! Personally I think they should change the name to “Wheel of Un-excitement” Below is a list of the negatives prizes:

Skull gives you a disease.
Fire Ghost burns your Neopets making them lose Neopoints.
Dark Fairy lowers one of your Neopets abilities.
Pant Devil steals one of your items.
Lightning causes your Neopet damage.
Question mark gives you ridiculous low amount of Neopoints.

Apart from the negatives listed above, the wheel will land on the 10,000np exactly on the hour. So, 150nps can earn you 10,000np if you precisely time when you visit the Wheel.

Profit from mispriced items

An easy way to make a quick profit is to buy mispriced items from shops. People often don’t check the price of an item in the shop wizard, and just place the item for sale straight away. This is a major benefit as they could have completely misjudged the pricing of the item. For example, I was searching for ‘Bottled Dark Faerie’ the price of this item ranges from 3000 – 4000np. However, I found a ‘Bottled Dark Faerie’ priced at 500np. I quickly bought this item and sold it at 3500np, and made 3000nps profit.

Some people just don’t bother to check the price before they sell. So, a tip is to be vigilant when searching for items. Be sure to search a couple of times by selecting back button on the browser and searching for the item again.

Neopoint Ratio

Always look at the Neopoint Ratio before playing a game. The Np ratio is the amount of Nps you will earn for every point you score while playing. If the ratio is high then you will earn more Nps from playing a game. However, if the ratio is low then you will have to score more points while playing to gain Neopoints.

A tip is to play the games which give you high Neopoint Ratio’s. This will mean that less work is needed to earn Nps. An example of a low Neopoint Ratio game is ‘Ice cream machine’. This game has a ratio of 0.13, so for every 100 points you score you will only get 13nps. To put this into perspective you will have to score over 8000 points to get the maximum available Neopoints.

To conclude you should always look at the ratio of a game before you play it.

Soup kitchen

You can claim free food for your Neopets everyday in the Soup Kitchen, if you have less than 3000nps. This includes the Neopoints in your bank account, your shop till and Neopoints on hand. So, basically if you have just started Neopets and are really poor, you can get food for free.

You are probably thinking what free food has to do with making Neopoints? Claiming free food avoids you having to buy food from the shops which will cost you Neopoints. The Soup Kitchen is a short term option for poor Neopet owners. You will very quickly pass the threshold of 3000nps. After that you will have to pay for food.

A black hat method of claiming free food when you have over 3000nps, is temporary transfer all your Neopoints into another account.

The share – POWR – update

This is an update from the previous POWR post. I mentioned that it was dangerous and risky share, and that it could cash at any moment. This is exactly what has happened the share is no longer at the 500nps. It is at roughly 15 – 20nps which means that the people who have lots of Neopoints on this share have lost a lot Neopoints.

I think it will take a very long time for the share to go back up to the five hundreds. In fact, I don’t think it’s ever going to go up. I think that Neopets realised that people were making quick profits from this share, so decided to crash the share.

You will not make quick profit from this share, so I don’t recommend buying any of these shares. Also, don’t stockpile the share in the hope that it will increase in price.

Sell useless items

Quite often you may be give completely useless items either a random or from the Daily do’s. Examples of useless items are: Bottles of sand, Poisonous Jelly and Old rotten right sandal (my favourite).

Instead of donating these useless items or discarding them. You can sell the items in your shop for a small profit. Well, it may not be a large amount of Neopoints, but at least it’s something. You will probably only get 1 or 2 nps for these useless items.

You can also go looking in the money tree for useless item and sell them.
