New winter storage afloat and ashore rates are now available.

Winter Berth Afloat: 6 month contract from 01/10/2010-31/03/2011:

Normally charged at a rate of €170 per metre.

SPECIAL SEPTEMBER PRICE-BOOKINGS PAID IN SEPTEMBER CHARGED AT €140 PER METRE L.O.A.

Winter berth holders get 2 weeks storage ashore free of charge and a 20% discount on lift out, hull wash and launch during the period of the contract.

Winter Berth Ashore: 6 month contract from 01/10/2010-31/03/2011:

Normally charged at a rate of €240 per metre for Power boats and €282 per metre for Sailboats.

Haven was established in late 2008 by Leslie Buckley, one of Ireland's leading entrepreneurs and businessmen. Our vision is to tackle poverty and improve the quality of life of impoverished people in Haiti. We aim to do this primarily by building new homes for the poor, improving other homes and introducing development programmes to help our beneficiaries work their way out of poverty.

In October this year Malahide Marina Manager, Damien Offer, will take part in the inaugural Haven Build It week. Each participant is aiming to raise a minimum of €4000 towards the project. If you would like contribute to this very worthwhile project please contact Damien directly at damien@malahidemarina.net.

Conditions in Haiti are dire for the vast majority of its population of 8.5 million. Seven out of ten Haitians are living below the poverty line of $2 a day. One child dies every hour from starvation, with almost a quarter of children under five suffering from malnutrition. Unemployment stands at 54% and half of the population cannot read or write. And hundreds of thousands of people are condemned to live in shacks and slums.

Broadmeadows Bridge Update [09/21/2009]

Status as of Sept 21st 2009:

As you are no doubt aware, works on the railway arches are ongoing and impacting on our boatyard capacity. As a result our boatyard storage capacity this year is reduced by over a third.

According to the latest updates, the re-building of this section of the bridge is moving along well. Irish Rail are confident that trains will be able to safely use the viaduct within 3 months.

It is in all of our interests to ensure that the line is fully operational as soon as it is possible and safe to do so.

According to a recent update by Garry Keegan, Community Relations Officer, Construction Unit advised that “Efforts have concentrated on stabilizing the situation in the weir area in proximity to the bridge. These emergency works concentrated on constructing a ‘roadway’ in the water parallel to the bridge so that cranes and other machinery could access the critical areas and carry out the necessary works. Truck loads of large boulders and stone had to be transported into the area in order to construct this ‘roadway’ and stabilize the weir. Many of these boulders weighed between 12-15 tonne, they had to be this heavy so they would be not be swept out of position by tidal movements.

Regarding construction traffic, we consulted closely with the Gardai, Fingal Co. Council and Residents Groups, and have also being liaising with the Malahide Chamber of Commerce, which includes representatives of local yacht, sailing and boat clubs.

Our view on the timescale for the re-opening of the line is that it will be in three months. I expect that a formal statement on the date for this will be forthcoming in the near future from Iarnrod Eireann management. As the works programme for the next three months evolves, we will share this with local stakeholders by having regular liaison meetings. A dedicated Community Relations Unit has been established to deal with all inquiries and the project Freephone Number is 1890 25 35 55. You will of course appreciate that this work is taking place in a relatively difficult physical work environment and is subject to daily / changing tidal activity that imposes certain restrictions on our activities.

The amount of co-operation and understanding that we have received from local stakeholders (Residents Groups, Gardai, Fingal Co. Council, Water based clubs, Environmental Groups, Businesses, Commuters, General Public, Public Representatives) has been exceptional and is very much appreciated.”
