That is the question playing in our minds after watching the following two videos. What is Split Personality Disorder? Is Anwar Ibrahim really suffering from Split Personality Disorder? Let’s try to find the answer together today.

According to Wikipedia, Split Personality Disorder is now better known as Dissociative Identity Disorder, Wikipedia describes it as;

…a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a condition in which a person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities (known as alter egos or alters), each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment.

In the following video, somebody said ‘split character’ (fast forward to 01:36) and ‘split character’ is a form of Split Personality Disorder. He did not mention any name but he gave us the impression that he was referring to Anwar Ibrahim. We cannot help thinking that way since the following videos are all about Anwar Ibrahim.

Could it be that Anwar Ibrahim is really suffering from Split Personality Disorder (Dissociative Identity Disorder)?

Signs of an imminent super volcanic eruption have been observed at the Yellowstone National Park. Are you ready for the biggest bang in 2009?

The Yellowstone National Park has been rocked with hundreds of minor earthquakes in the last 2 months (go and check with USGS geologists) and we all know that lying deep under Yellowstone is the Yellowstone Caldera, the biggest supervolcano on the American continent.

Are those small earthquakes signs of bigger things to come?

It is interesting to take note here that Christopher C. Sanders, an American geologist, has issued a warning on January 1st 2009. He has advised State officials stationed around the Yellowstone National Park to prepare for a State of Emergency. He also said that he has seen enough pre-warning signs of an imminent super volcanic eruption!

Do you know that you can have great romantic vacations or hold heavenly Caribbean weddings in Jamaica?

I have heard of couples enjoying romantic vacations and having Caribbean weddings in Jamaica before but I never really knew why they went there in the first place. Not until I stumbled upon this colorful site featuring Jamaica all inclusive resort. The resort is just one of many Superclubs line of all-inclusive resorts but that is another story. I’m here to briefly talk about Jamaica’s attractions.

I have been to various places in the world today but I’ve never been to Jamaica. Today I learned that Jamaica basically has two great destinations; Montego Bay on the northwest there’s a world famous waterfall at Ocho Rios, ever heard of the Dunn’s River Falls? It’s just nearby!

There are plenty of things to do in Jamaica. You can go fishing, go horseback riding, go cruising and of course shopping. Yes, there’s no doubt about it, I’m confident that I will have lots of fun in Jamaica but where can I find the money to go there? Ouch…

The elusive Magnapinna, better known as the Alien squid has been captured on video by an oil company (Perdico) ROV in the Gulf of Mexico.

Magnapinna squid sighting is very rare and so far only one has ever been captured (dead unfortunately). It is a very strange creature and I like the way the National Geographic News describes it; ‘an alien-like, long-armed, and—strangest of all—"elbowed"’ squid.

Well well well… The National Fatwa Council (Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan) has declared that Yoga, the pride of Hindus all over the world, is haram or forbidden in Islam and Muslims were told to stay out of Yoga. Good! I already knew long time ago that Yoga is not for Muslims but I do wonder why the National Fatwa Council took that long to see it!

To all Muslims out there who have questions about the National Fatwa Council’s Fatwa on Yoga (not Yogi Bear), please refer to the following Fatwa issued by IslamWeb on the 11th of December 2002:

Yoga is not simply a physical exercise, it is rather a form of worship to the sun instead of Allaah.

Collins defines yoga as: 'A Hindu system of philosophy aiming at the mystical union of the self with the Supreme Being:- a state of complete awareness and tranquility through certain physical and mental exercises'.

It is widespread and well known in India since early ages. The original name of this sport in Sanskrit is (Sastanga Soria Namaskar) which means "prostrating for the sun on eight places of the body". This sport has 10 known states among which the fifth stage where the person lays face down on earth touching the ground with his: both hands, the nose, the chest, both knees and the toes. By this one realizes prostrating for the sun on eight organs of the body.

The yoga exercises start with the first state which constitutes a bowing to the worshipped, i.e. the sun. These exercises must be accompanied by a number of words and phrases, which state clearly the worshipping of the sun and the orientation towards it. This is called (Mantra). It is said in a soft voice and regular tone and pitch. These expressions include the 12 names of the sun and here are some of the things they say:
1) Mitraya Nama which means: I bow my head for you O! Friend of everyone.
2) Rafayer Nama which means: I bow my head for you who is glorified by everybody.
3) Suria Nama meaning: I bow my head for you O! Guider of everyone.
4) Maritchay Nama meaning: I bow my head for you O! Forcer of the disease out.
5) Safitir Nama meaning: I bow my head for you O! Giver of life.
6) Bhasakaria Nama meaning: I bow my head for you O! Source of light.

Some of them add other expressions like:
Um Hram, Um Hraim, Um Hrum, …etc. This means: O! God.

When the Muslims were fighting Hindus, they used to say: Allaahu Akbar and the Hindus used to say: Um Hram (seeking Help from their idol). Longman dictionary defines "Mantra" as "a word or sound that is repeated as a prayer or to help people Meditate in the Hindu or Buddhist religion".

So, we conclude that yoga is not a kind of sport, it is rather an atheist form of worship that the Muslim should not indulge in under any circumstances. Some might wonder: what if the person practices the physical exercises without facing the sun or repeating the mentioned expressions?

The answer is: "If this sport becomes free of atheist expressions and free of facing the sun, bowing for it and greeting it, it is no longer yoga. It becomes some simple physical exercises practiced by all people and there is no harm to practice it provided two things are met:
First, re-ordering the exercises in a way different than the one in yoga and introducing some new situations in it to avoid similarity with yoga.
Second, avoiding practising these exercises in the times the Hindus observe it like at sunrise. The evidence for these two conditions is the narration in which the Prophet said: "Pray the morning prayer and then abstain from prayer until sunrise and the sun has completely risen, for it rises between the horns of Satan. That is when the unbelievers prostrate to it." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

So, since it is forbidden to perform the prayer at sunset or sunrise to avoid imitating the disbelievers, then doing some other practices that disbelievers devote themselves to do at fixed times is more entitled to be done in different times.

Know also that what some people advertise that yoga brings tranquility and calm is not peculiar to yoga. It is general to anyone who keeps on repeating innovative, polytheist expressions or words with the presence of mind and the concentration on something like a picture.

The scholars mention that the devils land on these people filling their minds and hearts with imaginations and illusions, making them feel a false tranquility which some followers of innovative ways and forms of worship, publicize.

In fact, the true tranquility of the soul and its purity are attained by following the Sunnah and adhering to it as well as remembering Allaah in the way He mentioned in His Book and in the books of Sunnah.
Allaah says (interpretation of meaning): {… Verily, in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find rest.}[13:28]. Allaah knows best.

IslamWeb has also issued a similar Fatwa on Reiki, the Japanese spiritual healing practice on the 21st of April 2005:

Reiki is similar to yoga, it is based on what they call 'Universal life force energy'. They claim that this force runs freely through every living thing when one is healthy, positive and well. However, during particularly stressful periods in our lives, the tension we experience slows down or restricts this energy flow in various parts of our body adversely affecting our health. The role of the practitioner is to direct the healing energy to the body in order to cure the patient.

In contrast, the cure is not certain at 100%. Furthermore, it is known that believing in this universal life force energy which runs through every living being and that it heals and affects our health is disbelief, because when believing so, one is attributing the dominion of this universe and life to other than Allaah. Allaah says (which means): {And whatever you have of favour, it is from Allaah.}[Qur'an 16:53]. Allaah further says speaking about the Prophet Ibraaheem (Abraham) (which means): {And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.}[Qur'an 26:80]. Allaah also says (which means): {And if Allaah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him. And if He touches you with good — then He is over all things competent.}[Qur'an 6:17].

Another verse reads (which means): {Say, "Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allaah? If Allaah intended me harm, are they removers of His Harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His Mercy?"}[Qur'an 39:38].

In addition to this, it is certain that the practitioner is practicing pagan rites in order to make this 'Universal life force energy' run through the body of the patient, and the patient may be ordered to perform some of these rites. Therefore, it is forbidden to practice this or to go to one of its practitioners.

Michael Jackson converts to Islam? What!? The Sun UK published a sensational story earlier today; it seems that 50-year old Michael Jackson has converted to Islam in a simple ceremony in Los Angeles. If we go by the news report, Michael now goes by the name of Mikaeel!

I have no way of confirming this so called sensational story, you have to dig for more stories on this to be sure. I’m not going to waste my time though. The whole thing sounds fishy, why did he choose now to become a Muslim? Is this just a bloody ploy to soften the heart of an Arabian Sheikh that has sued him?

I certainly not, especially here in Malaysia but over there in America, the Rent-To-Own industry has been around ever since the 1960s. The Rent-to-Own industry apparently was established after Americans living in the 60s demanded for debt-free methods of acquiring household items such as furniture, electric appliances and so forth. Thus, the Rent-to-Own or lease to own industry was born out of nowhere in America.

Mysterious fireball lights up Edmonton night sky

Something strange happened up in the sky across Edmonton, Canada yesterday evening. Many Canadians have witnessed a mysterious fireball that lit up the sky that evening; many described it as “bright orange flames” with a large and long tail. The exact location of the incident is not yet known as of time of writing but many in the areas of somewhere between Lloydminster, Alberta and Melfort, Saskatchewan have witnessed it.

Nobody knows for sure what that mysterious fireball was but some say that it was a fallen meteorite and there are those that say that it was a lightning orb. UFOlogists meanwhile sau that it was a fallen UFO. What!? Roswell all over again!? ;-P

MySuit: Made to measure suits

I just found something very interesting couple of minutes ago at SocialSpark. There is a company that has more than 40 years of suit-making experience. As matter of fact, one of its divisions is one of the biggest suit makers in the world!

I’m talking about MySuit, specializing in making custom made suits or in their own definition, made-to-measure suits. At a glance, MySuit doesn’t look different than any other suit making companies but a closer look revealed that MySuit is very serious about making custom made suits for their customers!

I have been thinking about getting a brand new suit and MySuit reminded me that I should consider getting a custom suit this time around. I prefer to have a 3-button jacket style, complete with pockets and sleeve buttons. I have no idea what sort of fabric I should use for my new suit yet, perhaps I should go for a light-colored fabric.

Oh well, let’s go back to MySuit. Can you see what my problem really is?

Yes, I do have some ideas but I really don’t know what is best for me. I have been reading Gadget Advisor for quite some time now and I believe that it has potential to be an authority blog on gadgets and tech news in the near future. Gadget Advisor is quite new but check out their short but well written posts on online backup services, universal remote control and network media player.

I have no idea who or which tech group is behind Gadget Advisor but they have done a very good job so far. Gadget Advisor is nicely designed and very much clutter-free, unlike my other silly tech blog that some of you may have visited in the past. Perhaps I should do a little redesigning myself and based it upon what I have seen at Gadget Advisor. :-)

Get this into your head okay. The Dow Jones made an unprecedented dive and closed below 10,000 points yesterday. Something that has never happened in the last 4 years!

Ignorant Malaysian suckers out there better watch out. You folks better curb your lavish spending and start saving money. The American economy is collapsing and it will send ripples to the global economy including our very own very soon. I’m not panicking but I want you folks to know that you can expect hellish time in the next few months!

Effective from 1st June 2008, the change means that Australians can now buy and sell domain names for profit resulting in a boom in virtual real estate speculation.

Domain names are the backbone of the internet and often aptly described as virtual real estate. Indeed, thousands of domainers around the world make their living from these online properties by buying, selling and even renting to people and businesses that have a connection to the domain name

Now, with this new legislation, the industry has arrived in Australia with a bang. The prospect of turning a $30 registration fee into a 6 figure sale is probably consigned to history but one thing is sure, with 1.2 million .au domain names already registered, supply of premium domains becomes tighter and tighter leading to a surge in domain name valuations.

The last time I blogged about this, the number of people hospitalized by those killer Chinamen milk products were 13,000. Today the number has risen to a staggering 53,000!

What the f*ck is wrong with those greedy Chinamen? Don’t tell me money is everything to them?

I don’t know about you but I will never ever trust Chinamen products again!

Muhammad Al-Munajid: What is the position of Islamic law with regard to mice? The Shari'a refers to the mouse as "little corrupter," and says it is permissible to kill it in all cases. It says that mice set fire to the house, and are steered by Satan. The mouse is one of Satan's soldiers and is steered by him. If a mouse falls into a pot of food – if the food is solid, you should chuck out the mouse and the food touching it, and if it is liquid – you should chuck out the whole thing. Because the mouse is i-m-p-u-r-e!

According to Islamic law, the mouse is a repulsive, corrupting creature. How do you think children view mice today – after Tom and Jerry? Even creatures that are repulsive by nature, by logic, and according to Islamic law have become wonderful and are loved by children. Even mice. Mickey Mouse has become an awesome character, even though according to Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed in all cases.
