Ileana attracts trouble again

Sensuous beauty Ileana seems to be in the news for all the wrong reasons. The latest being that Tamil producer, Mohan Nadarajan, has filed a complaint against the actress for not returning his advance of Rs 40 lakhs.

The money was paid to her to act in Deiva Thirumagal opposite Chiyaan Vikram, in January 2011. Ileana had also initially agreed to allot bulk dates for the movie.

However, at the last moment she withdrew her commitment and allotted the same dates to Nanban, the remake of 3 Idiots directed by Shankar. A miffed Mohan had to replace her with Anushka Shetty.

The producer states that Ileana has neither returned his money, despite his complaint at the Producers Council, nor has she answered the several calls he has made to her.

Now, Mohan has approached the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce and registered a complaint once again to resolve the issue.

Speaking to DC, he says, “Ileana was evasive in her reply in the beginning and later she started avoiding my calls. I had no choice but to resort to arbitration through industry bodies.

She is not a member of Nadigar Sangham, which she should be if she is acting in Tamil films. So, initially I complained to the Producers Council to get my money back. It was passed on to the new set of office bearers after the Council elections last year.

Now, I have requested the Film Chamber to intervene and take proper action against her.” Ileana is choosy about her Tamil projects and had done only one movie, Kedi, prior to Nanban, even though many producers tried to sign her.

It is also said that she prefers Telugu and Hindi projects over Tamil ones, as the pay packages are bigger there. Presently, the ‘size zero’ girl is busy with a couple of Bollywood projects, including Barfee with Ranbir Kapoor, and two Telugu projects.The actress was not available for comment.

The actress who is making her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu's forthcoming film Barfi has found her first Bollywood friend in Priyanka Chopra.

According to a unit hand, Priyanka Chopra who is shooting in Hyderabad for Krrish 3 got to know her Barfi costar Ileana is shooting next door for a Telugu film. She decided to surprise Ileana by visiting her on the sets.

"Ileana was surprised and glad to see Priyanka since they met after a long time. The duo not only spent time chatting but also hung out after completing their respective shoots," we were informed.

Well, let's hope their off-screen dostana is one for keeps.

A civil court in the city had ordered an interim stay on Karikalan's filming after K S Rajasekaran, aka, Nagaraj sent a notice to the team alleging that the film's story and title were his. The court had also issued summons to its makers and hero Vikram. But, now, the producers of the film are planning to file a defamation suit against Rajasekaran for involving Vikram's name in this issue.

When CT got in touch with S S Vasan, one of the film's producers, he said that it is grossly unfair to drag Vikram's name in this issue. "It is understandable when the producer and the director are issued summons in such a case. But, involving an actor in such a case is unfair. He is not part of both the script and title registration process," he says. He reveals that Vikram had spoken to him about the issue, and feels that this has caused mental agony for his hero. "It brings down his reputation and we are consulting our lawyers about filing a defamation suit," he claims.

Stating that they have adequate proof to argue their case, he says, "We have the documents declaring approval of the title from the producers' council, the producers' guild and the film chamber. They have a monthlong verification process during which they crosscheck whether the title applied for has already been registered or if there is any litigation over it." The producer says the next schedule of shooting will probably begin by next month once the legal issues and the FEFSI wage issues are sorted out.

Jacqueline Fernandez seems to have become too big for her own boots. The actress, who got her first big hit in the former of 'Murder 2' (courtesy the Bhatts), has now decided to walk out of Bhatts' forthcoming film 'Raaz 3'. This has obviously irked the Bhatt brothers no end.

It may be recalled that Jacqueline was signed along with Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu for 'Raaz 3' to be directed by Vikram Bhatt. Shooting of the film was scheduled to commence this month and Jacqueline began developing cold feet over some of the sexy outfits designer for her character. The actress felt that she wouldn't be comfortable wearing the said costume and hence expressed her desire to opt out of the project. Needless to say, producers Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt are shocked over this sudden change of mind on Jackie's part.

In the recent past, Jacqueline even walked out of film like 'Krrish 3' refusing to lip-lock with her co-star Hrithik Roshan. Meanwhile, the buzz is that the Bhatts have signed Esha Gupta as a replacement for 'Raaz 3'.

Ram Charan's fans get ready for the Raccha ragada. The film is currently in its last schedule. But, you will have to wait till Ugadi, though. Directed by Sampath Nandi, the film is currently being shot in Chennai. An action sequence was shot on the actor and many stuntmen recently. A song is pending.

Till recently, Raccha was shot in Ramoji Film City. Starring Tamanna in the lead, the film is written by Paruchuri Brothers, while music is by Mani Sharma.

Since Raccha is the actor's first release in a year (Orange was released in March, 2010), there is understandable hype around it. If cinematography is by Sameer Reddy and choreography is by Raju Sundaram and Shobi, the sights and sounds of Ceylon, China and Bangkok are expected to make Raccha a visual special.

The film is said to have an interesting premise and the very presence of Cherry and Tamanna, now hailed as an actress of mettle post-Oosaravelli, and an ensemble cast comprising of Prakash Raj, Mukesh Rishi and Ajmal of Rangam fame, goes good for the film.

I accepted the offer just because of the challenge in it." Recently, Vishal and Sunaina completed the first schedule of 'Samaran' in dense jungles in the south.

MUMBAI: The New Year, it seems, will be of filmy weddings as quite a few real life couples in Bollywood are all set to solemnise their relationships in 2012.

The year will witness Bollywood weddings of some celebrities who have been dating for a long time now. Those who have formally announced their marriage plans for next year include Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh-Genelia D'Souza; others have hinted at it.

Saif and Kareena, lovingly called 'Saifeena', have been dating for five years strong. The couple has declared officially that they will tie the knot in the beginning of 2012, after the release of their film 'Agent Vinod'. Reportedly, the marriage is likely to take place between February-March next year. "Both Saif and me are waiting for 'Agent Vinod' to release. Once it releases we will announce the marriage," Kareena had said recently. The action-thriller film starring Saif and Kareena, is likely to release in February. 41-year-old Saif has two children from his previous marriage and Kareena ended her three-year relationship with Shahid Kapoor, before she chose the Nawab of Pataudi.

Ritesh, 32, and Genelia, 24, chose to be secretive about their eight-year-long relationship. They have been seeing each other since their Bollywood debut, 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003. Ritesh, son of Congress minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, will seal their relationship with a wedding in February 2012. "It's an exciting new chapter in our lives and all your wishes and blessings make it even more beautiful and special for Ritesh and me," Genelia had written on Twitter after wishes started pouring in for the couple. The couple, who have starred together in films like 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' and 'Masti', will be next seen in 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' which is expected to hit theatres next year.

Apart from these two weddings, there is a buzz about John Abraham-Priya Marwah getting hitched next year, and so is about couples like Vidya Balan-Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan-Kunal Khemu, Dia Mirza-Sahil Sangha. Since his split with his girlfriend of eight years, Bipasha Basu, John has constantly been linked to investment banker Priya. Though the 38-year-old has not confirmed the relationship, their regular outings have grabbed eyeballs. In a recent interview, John said, "It is my wish to get married soon. I would love to settle down in life. It is human nature. There was a time when I did not want to settle down, but today, I want to.

Not just the audience, even Vidya was as surprised when the makers came to her to play a character like this. "I don't know how Milan could have thought of me for this film", confesses Vidya. But actor Deepika Padukone doesn’t feel the need to confirm or deny anything that’s anywhere close to her personal life, friends and family. The Aarakshan actor, says, firmly, that “people don’tneed to know if it’s (true) or not or what we do and where we go.”

“There’s a certain part of life I would like to keep to myself. And I don’t think I am answerable to anyone, whether I say yes or no to a guy. People are most welcome to speculate. It’s fun to read what people have to say or write about it. But you won’t hear anything from me on the topic,” says the model who debuted as an actor with Om Shanti Om girl (2007) with Shah Rukh Khan.

Currently, Deepika would rather talk about her upcoming venture, Cocktail, produced by Saif Ali Khan, who is also her co-actor in the movie.

“It’s great to work with Saif because he is one of the finest actors we have in Bollywood. And I am glad that people liked our pairing so much in Love Aaj Kal. Thanks to that, we’ve been paired a couple of times more,” says the actor, who played Saif’s love interest in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan.

After a long schedule in London, Deepika has wrapped up a reasonable chunk of Homi Adajania’s second movie.

“It’s almost complete. We have shot around 85-90 per cent of the film with a small portion left to be shot now. It will take only about 10-15 days to complete,” informs Deepika, who also has the Rajinikanth-starrer Rana in her kitty.

Talking of Saif, what’s her reaction to rumours about problems between her and the former’s girlfriend Kareena Kapoor?

“I don’t think there’s anything to react to. I share a professional equation with Saif. That’s about it. And I guess since Kareena is a part of his life, it’s (such talks) bound to come up. But that’s understandable,” she smiles.

Interestingly though, Deepika says that Cocktail has left her tired: “It has been emotionally draining for me. It’s one film that I am tired after working upon. It’s an intense love story. But I am happy that it puts me and Saif back together in one more love story after Love Aaj Kal.”
