day after having a blast internet connection suddenly on the next day you cant connect to the internet at all.

You havent exceed your data plan quota, you connect to wifi it works fine. You remove and place the sin on other phone the 3G works fine.

So you wonder what the hell happened? You cant format your phone cause you'll end up re-downloading all your favorite apps again.

That's suck right?

This tips only work on lenovo phone or if you have installed the following software.

In my case, the culprit of the problems is the antivirus or the security apps.

This is the security apps by lenovo. Sometimes people dont bother to read the command on the faq.

Theres some functions on this type of application that can block your phone to connect to the internet especially when you enable the firewall setting.

At some carrier like in Malaysia the mobile data has kuota limits. So having this type of application does help to control the way the phone uses the data.

If you tap on the mobile data icon next to the wifi icon. The application can stop or block any attempt by the phone to connect to the internet.

Its has an auto setting to do the blocking if younset the phone to block the mobile data when you had exceed the quota.

So next time, do care to check or read the faq before playing around with setting. Or you might end up formatting your phone. Happy new year. And thanks for stopping by my blog.

Its offer the same functions as the blogger app but with a smoother and minimal interface. You can download it from the playstore. Its free for download but you have the option to purchase the pro version. Which is i donno how different is it. Im fine with the free version. It does all that i need.

I have been trying a few time to do some blogging directly from my phone. Especially when reviewing application. Its easier to just take a screenshot and share it to the app rather than transferring the photo to pc just to start blogging.

I find it quite usefull but since my phone is just 5inch so viewing my typing is kinda hard. But the keyboard dictionary does help a lot. Another thing that give extra advantage compare to using pc.

There's nothing much when in the setting. Currently you can add blogs from blogger only for in apps reading. Other than that i havent explored yet.

Posted via Blogaway

the chinese Malware "DeathRing"

Malware authors are trying hard to create malicious software with more innovative ways to infect victims. A new mobile Trojan horse infection has been discovered by security researchers that comes pre-loaded onto low-cost Chinese-made Android smartphones popular in Asia and Africa.

Though the malware pretends to be a genuine ringtone app, but actually downloads SMS and WAP content from its command-and-control server to the victim’s handset, which gives it potential to phish user’s sensitive data through fake text messages.

"DeathRing might use SMS content to phish victim’s personal information by fake text messages requesting the desired data," the security firm LookOut wrote in a blog post. "It may also use WAP, or browser, content to prompt victims to download further APKs - concerning given that the malware authors could be tricking people into downloading further malware that extends the adversary’s reach into the victim’s device and data."

AFFECTED SMARTPHONE HANDSETS

DeathRing malware pre-loaded on a number of entry-level phones sold by third-tier manufacturers to developing countries and according to the security firm, the handsets affected are:

However, DeathRing is not the first pre-installed mobile malware spotted by the firm. Earlier this year, LookOut discovered another pre-loaded piece of malware called Mouabad on devices sold by retailers in China, India, and the Philippines. Similar to DeathRing, Mouabad is also somewhere pre-loaded in the supply chain and affected predominantly Asian countries.

As promise, here im gonna share the unboxing review. kinda like my first impression to this cheap and powerful Lenovo here.

So here is how the packaging look like. firstly i need to thanks the sponsor at Emart Batu Kawa for giving me the phone for testing. The phone price is RM100 but with a 1 year contract of DG SmartPlan 50. the monthly bill is at RM45 per month, free 100minutes and 100sms with a 2Gigabite mobile data plan. well i do the math and i find it a good deal indeed, postpaid internet are far more stable compare to prepaid line. One annoying thing is the seller doesnt mention the additional price that you have to pay. especially when registering with Digi postpaid. so you have to prepare at least RM200 for the phone and other additional charges such as the register fee, screen protector and the back case.

There are 3 more Digi prepaid package that offers cheap smartphone like the Lenovo A369i, Lenovo A7-30 and Acer Liquid Z208. i didnt have the chances to snap a picture of it but the most suspicious package is the Acer where i notice the indonesian flag on the box. weird huh? there's no information on it when i google it makes me wonder why?? Ok, lets get back to the unboxing.

As you can see on the picture, this is what you get inside the box. the phone itself, a charger with an USB cable and a 3.5mm jack earpiece. not forgeting the manuals. Well it does give you all that you need except there are no free SD, so remember to buy one. i would recommend to purchase the screen protector only, the most essential thing to have when having a phone. always make sure the screen is protected. that if you prefer your phone naked.

The manual provided in the box doesnt really help you on how to use the phone. it just show you on how to use the basic thing only.

A few things that really caught my interest is the phone has a bigger and sharper screen compare to the other phones that digi's offer. its a MTK quad-core phone so it has the speed and the A526 also has a dual sim and dual standby ability. when getting a dual sim phone, one thing to really understand is how the dual sim works. a few are dual-sim but single standby, so thats mean you have to change the setting or reboot the phone if you want to change the sims. but his phone can have both the sim ready to make calls and receive sms without the need to resetting or reboot.

So here is the size comparation with my old LG Optimus Black. the A526 body and screen is noticeable look bigger from the LG.

Now, lets go the A526 itself, let me talk about it and i let you judge if this phone suits your need or not. The phone screen sizes is 4.5inch. considering a 4inches screen used to be a big screen on the old days yeah it does feel good on the hand. The plastic built doesnt feel cheap at all. from where i see it the front glass is not thick at all, so i dont think it can hold great impact incase it falls. so try to be really careful not to let it fall down.

On the top part of the screen holds the ear speaker and the VGA front camera. the front cam is a fixed 0.2 camera. not really good for selfies. the view coverage is very narrow i guess it maybe because it utilize technologies from the old days.i'll be posting the picture quality on the second part of the review.

on the lower part holds the capacitive touch button for home, option and back button. a common button for any android devices. the mic for calling is under the back button. you can also see a place to open up the back cover of the phone.

Taking of the back cover reveals the dual-sim slot and the MicroSD slot. The battery is a Lithium Polymer Battery.There's no way to take out the SD without taking out the battery. so tranfering data would take a moment if you choose to use a SD adapter to tranfer file.

The phone offers cool features as it come with Android JellyBean. it can run a lot of up to date application and doesn't lag at all except for heating that is common with android devices. For the next part of the review, i'll talk on how the device performs on my daily usage. i have been testing it for more than a week now and im quite happy with it. it doesn slow me down.

Friends of mine email me this product yesterday. Its kinda like a smartband (Well, it has all the function a smartband should have) so that’s make it a smartband right??.

The BTLinker is almost the same as other fitness companions out there that offer the ability to track heartbeat, calories burned and track your position.

Currently there are only 2 version of it, the BTLinker T003 & BTLinker T005. I think u can guess why it’s called a BTLinker. For what I understand (predicted) that the device connect to your mobile by Bluetooth and not wifi or NFC. So if u have purchase this product and know how its actually operate and sync with your mobile, PLEASE INFORM ME. I really appreciate it.

I know, why talk about it if you’re not sure. Well I find it as a very attractive device. especially the pricing. Its crazy cheap.

The BTLinker T003 is priced at around $30 while the BTLinker T005 is a bit expensive.

For this post I will cover about the BTLinker T003.

In the specification sheet the BTLinker T003 is a very small and cute device. weight only at 22gram with a measurement of;
thickness x diameter x width: 0.2inch x 1.2inch x 0.5inch

The Smartband requires Bluetooth 4.0 and android 4.3 or later to operate. Good news is it also support Iphone (Iphone 4S and above).

Nothing in the specification mentioned any resistant to water or dust.

it doesn’t tell it has a processor or not but it has a removable battery which can only be open with a battery opening tool provided in the package.
Content;-
* 1 x Battery
* 1 x Watch
* 1 x Long Buttom
* 1 x Short Buttom
* 1 x Battery Opening Tool
* 1 x One-size-fits-all Sport Band Wristband，
* 1 x English Manual
To sync the band with your phone, you need to download an application from googleplay https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xinruizhi.btlinker&hl=en
for android devices and the appstore for IOS. The app is free for download so no additional cost accure.
The application will be an interface for you for synchronization, setup or review your data (sound familiar huh?)
Since it not a color screened so I think it will have a pretty average battery life?
• The Manufacturer claims the BTLinker:
• Monitor & Calculate the total time spent on walking, running, or cycling.
• Accurately record the amount of exercise, steps taken, distance travelled and calories burned.
• Detect total effective sleeping time and motions every night (including light sleep and deep sleep).
• Detect the ultraviolet light intensity, necessary to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
• Detect the indoor temperature as well as ambient temperature.
• Call / SMS notification: The speaker will sound to notify the user.
• Conveniently locate the final position of goods or the departure address of loved ones.
• Anti-lost function: Two-way anti-lost system that confirms the relative distance between the cell phone and the device; if the separation distance exceeds the safe distance, the alarm system will be activated.

The main features are really attractive.

Cons;
• Durability – nothing mentioning the resistant to water nor shock.
• Lifespan
• Battery Life
• Application Supports.

Year ago people really look down to china product but nowadays. Their innovation is beyond my expectation. Every company is trying to make a different by copying and enhancing the main player product. Its good actually. Nobody is really has the grip as leading market.

ANT+ or pronounced as ANT PLUS is kinda like a protocol design by the ANT+ Alliance. It is an interoperability function, an open access multicast wireless sensor network technology. As you know, Xperia X8 was also equipped with this ability. Nowadays it become so popular among fitness enthusiast especially since the NFC was introduce.

So what the hell does it do?

Well ANT+ is a wireless protocol that operates to collect and transfer data from the sensor and it’s also integrate a remote control systems. The main focus seem to be on sport and wellness but it was also for home care and remote control.

It can be used for data-transfer for a number of devices such as:-
• Heart Rate monitors
• Cadence sensors
• Foot pods
• Power meters
• Body mass index measuring devices
• Blood pressure monitors
• And tonnes of other things.

This technology keep growing and growing each day especially with the rise of the mobile devices. You can find it on Mobile, watches, bicycle, MP3s player, and other things that I also don’t know.

Trending on the world nowadays is more on general fitness tasks, medical and remote control functions. ANT+ is implemented on more than 35 applications and produced by over 27 different manufacturers.

The Company behind the ANT+ Alliance is Dynastream Innovations Inc, a subsidiary of Garmin Ltd.

Currently there are more than 300 members in the Alliance and most are the extremely popular brands like Adidas, Samsung, Qualcomm, Sony, Timex and etc.

Most Android Devices has ANT+ Plugins which enable the phone or devices to communicate with the Application. Well this part is more to development as to enable a device to work properly with the software certain pairing and decoding are required.

The ANT+ Plugins feature multi-app concurrency, where any number of apps may have access to the same data coming from the same sensor simultaneously, and any number of phones/devices may read data from the same sensor simultaneously. This opens additional use cases such as always-on background monitoring for multiple apps, group training, etc

If you still don’t get it. Lets imagine how your phone connect to Wifi router. To connect to a wifi network ur phone need to recognise the signal from the wifi and it needs to provide an IP so the router can recognise your phone and allow a connection to the router which will connect your phone to the internet. That is roughly called an internet protocol. The different is in ANT+ protocol your phone is just connecting to a device or application that can read your heart beat, your body mass index and etc.

If you study on electronic communication or computer engineering you will understand it easier. I’m sorry if I got it wrong but I’m trying really hard here.

Thanks.

This year they have expanded rapidly outside of China and have disrupted the market with its dirt cheap value for money proposition. According to a market research report by IHS iSuppli, Xiaomi is currently the third largest smart phone brand, overtaking Lenovo and LG. This is quite a giant leap considering they managed to reach #5 position in the middle of this year.

Since then, the company has grown consistently and has now become a serious threat for market leaders like Samsung and Apple. It has taken only four years for Xiaomi to grab the third spot. It is followed by other well-known companies like Huawei, Lenovo and LG. GforGames states Xiaomi took over the third position in China by beating Apple five months ago.

How much this young company has achieved in just 4 years is something truly remarkable. It now finds itself at the third position in the list of the top smartphone manufacturers worldwide. It is certainly something that would make all eight co-founders of the company more than just proud; the company not only rose through ranks at breakneck speed, but it also defied odds to start shaping up as a truly global company.

Ongoing price wars between international and Chinese makers have resulted in some seriously VFM smartphones being churned out; the One from startup OnePlus, and the Xiaomi Mi 4 are only a couple such examples. We’re hoping to see a lot more action from Xiaomi not only in South Asia, but also in Europe (where a lot of its devices inevitably end up thanks to resellers) and the US. Xiaomi does have a couple of things to take care before eyeing western markets though; the most important of which is the security issues it has been facing, and secondly, its supply chains which are often found lacking.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi even ousted Samsung and Apple to be the #1 maker by volume in its home country of China. Considering the rate at which it is growing, #3 worldwide is no surprise; but if you take into account the company’s background and the way it has operated, it certainly makes for quite a success story. However, Xiaomi still is better at its home games than away ones; according to sources, the 14.6 million out of the 15.1 million smartphones it sold this year were in the Chinese market.

In its home country of China, which happens to be the largest smartphone market in the world, there is fierce competition between different brands like Huawei, Lenovo, LG, Meizu, OnePlus One and Oppo to bag better market position.

The leap is mainly due to booming sales on its home turf. According to market researcher Strategy Analytics, 14.6 million out of the 15.1 million smartphones Xiaomi sold in the second quarter were in China.

Even in Malaysia, Xiaomi has prove their efficiency with their cheap phone price that give a very high quality product. Usually a Snapdragon Chipset phone is priced at above MYR 1k. but now u can have a quad-core snapdragon phone with just half of the price. who wouldnt want that. With the success stories of Xiaomi, other product from china is like raining down here, i dont even know where to start.

There are tonnes of review out there on all of this phone which u can search on google. Average user would understand what the website is talking about. Maybe i will find some time to explain the terms use in the website such as Miui and etc.

Hey wassup guys.

Hows it going? Im not sure if anyone is still following this
blog but I just want to say that my X8 is officially dead. Dead by mean that
I’m not gonna do any more modding on the phone. its unusable at this time. The
battery is dead. I try resetting the battery using all the methods that are
available on the internet but failed. I accept the fate of my phone and that the
battery has been around too long. I think its almost 6 years now. N the phone
cant handle higher updates as newer updates uses more rom spaces and need
higher speed ram. So yeah, I’m giving up on testing custom rom on the device.

My X10 has been dead for a few years now. The experiences
with Sony Ericson has falls to term called SUCK. Though Ericsson has done so
many wonders with sony’s technology but android has killed them. Sony has
improves their devices so greatly that they have been from the lowest brand to
the top 5 brand in just a few years. Well im not sure when I’ll be having those
monsters but hopefully I can get a hold on one soon. God please.

For future notice. I’ll just share updates on the android
scene. The mainstream and the underground development. A lot has happened in
the android world. As you know the pre-dev android version named “L” has just
been released under Lollipop name and it does taste sweeter than kitkat. The
developers promise better performance and most of the things is unnoticeable to
the user eye, so I guess normal user won’t notice much different. You wont
notice the major different like when Ice Cream Sandwich updated to Jelly Bean
era. In the last few years, android domination to the mobile world has gone
from underdog to the bulldog. U just cant say you’ve know it all. New thing are
release every hour of the day with the label of android. From smartphone,
cameras, watches, glasses, handband even ring. What else I don’t know. Its
crazy.

I was a bit lost when I started this blog. There’s tonnes of
blog on technologies and I don’t know where do this blog stands out if compare
to them. I have spent most of this recent years to study the trend of the
market and still I cant decide what to do with this blog. It’s a big commitment
but if I want to get this blog somewhere, I have to start from somewhere.

For my subscriber, thank you veru much. This is one of my
blog that have the most traffic after my UIQ
blog.

Keep on subscribing. I’ll post new updates later.

Sony has unveiled two new phones at CES 2014, the Xperia Z1 Compact, which as the name suggests is the mini version of the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1s for T-Mobile in the United States. Those that follow our blog will not be surprised by the Xperia Z1 Compact as it is basically the same phone that launched in Japan recently under the Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) name.

The Xperia Z1 Compact shares most of the same hardware of the Xperia Z1 including the Snapdragon 800 chipset, 20.7MP camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and IP55/IP58 dust and water resistance. It differs by offering a smaller 4.3-inch 720p display, 2300mAh embedded battery, a chassis measuring 127mm x 64.9mm x 9.5 mm. The handset will launch with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean globally in February 2014. (copy and paste)

I have been looking for this watch all over malaysia. u can get it online but i dont buy from website that is not secure and doesnt have a good rating. as you all know. Pebble seem to be built for IOS and no android, thats what i get from the reviews i see. on the v1 of the firmware. other than the pebble apps, we have to download a third party apps to get other features run on the pebble.

even the v2 update seem to be more promising. and recently has a "do not disturb" feature update, i still kinda worry that i'll get a different experience from the IOS users.

In April 2013, Facebook decided to expand its efforts in mobile with its new Android app launcher, Facebook Home. Although Facebook Home works on other Android devices, it debuted alongside the HTC First, a mid-level smartphone aimed at the average smartphone users.

Unfortunately for Facebook, both Facebook Home and the HTC First landed with a resounding thud. Although Facebook Home still exists, HTC axed the HTC First just months after its release, giving it the shortest smartphone life cycle since the failed Microsoft Kin.

Though most user complaint about the Home function but many are sticking to the facebook lock screen.

But you can still download the Facebook Home via an application from the google playstore.

Well, when something get trendy, we forgot other innovation to the mobile world. though screen size is getting larger. other thing are getting smaller.

i come across this really awesome gadget that may be the next thing in 2014

Currently this is still a project looking for funding and if you want to help them out you can contribute by going to this website Indiegogo

from the name of the website, you can see that the it was hosted by india. the project might originated from Chennai, India.

The built quality is great.

made from metal

waterproof

allergy free.

wireless charging

Battery

im not really sure about it but the developer guaranteed running time of 24 hours. the 22 maH battery has an estimated lifetime of three years. its warranty includes a free battery replacement!

Technical specifications

Bluetooth 4.0 - nRF51822

Measurements - 13mm Wide and 4mm Thickness.

Flexible Battery - 22 maH.

Surgical stainless steel body

I would like the ring to be my engagement ring if possible. haha. hopefully it wont be to expensive and be at a very reasonable price.

It shows a firmware running with a build version template of 10.4.X.X.X.XX and 3.4 kernel. The screenshots show a UI and home launcher very similar to that used with the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra. Sony has said that the Android 4.3 firmware update will start to land for a number of Xperia handsets this month, hopefully there is not too long to wait.

Docomo will launch the mini version of the Xperia Z1 this 19th December 2013. the branding name is kinda weird, with a small "f" at the back. i guess it represent "FUN". thats why it come with 4 colors i guess.

It still packs most of Z1 hardware including the Snapdragon 800 chipset, 20.7MP camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and IP55/IP58 dust and water resistance. It differs by offering a smaller 4.3-inch 720p display, 2300mAh embedded battery, a chassis measuring 65 mm × 127mm × 9.4mm and weighs 140g.

Hopefully an international version of it will be available for us who are not in japan. the colorfull back a bit reminds me of the window phone.

but let just wait and see right?

An unofficial CyanogenMod 11 build has landed. This is courtesy of XDA legendary developer mikeioannina who is supporting a number of devices including the Xperia arc, arc S, neo, neo V, mini, mini pro, active, pro, ray and Live with Walkman.

The builds only went live a few days back so they are only at an alpha stage, but despite this, users are reporting that the ROMs are pretty stable. The main features not working right now is 720p video recording, FM radio, HDMI and Wi-Fi hotspot. Wi-Fi is working but is buggy. Its main tenet is called CoverFeed that uses photos to connect people, apps and data in a single place. According to Facebook, the app is used three times more than any other Android app on average; users are inside the app for an average of 30 minutes per day.

The app itself will be available for download on April 12 from Google Play — loads when your phone starts up, and basically swaps out your home screen with its own interface. obviously would make your phone to a Facebook phone.

You can browse Facebook straight away, but if you tap your face icon, you see options to go to the app menu or messaging. The app launcher is customized, but includes Android apps from Google Play, or ones you downloaded from the Internet. (These are not Facebook apps, like the games you'd play on the Facebook website.)

Some Android phones will have access to the free software, but HTC and AT&T will release the first phone with Home pre-installed, appropriately named the HTC First. It will go on sale April 12, and is available for preorder now from AT&T. i wonder how about the launch on other part of the world?

The news highlights just how serious the company is with its Firefox OS ambitions.

The ROM can be installed on an Xperia E by using Sony Mobile’s Flash Tool software. You will need to make sure your bootloader is unlocked before using the software. Obviously the ROM is not intended for daily use, but may appeal to those who want to test this emergent OS. There is no radio connectivity in this ROM which means you won’t be able to make calls, or use Wi-FI and Bluetooth. Also, Sony says that the touch sensitivity is not fully calibrated.

This is not a custom hack ROM but was built by Sony Mobile themself to test out and maybe try to beat Apple-Google domination in the mobile world.
