30-9-2007 Bukit Tinggi Resort.

Took my two"goddaughters" from Johor Bahru for visit to the resorts since their "nanny" has left them "stranded" in Kuala Lumpur after their company function (she has to go back to Batu Gajah to visit papa and mama). We paid RM16.00 per head for entrance fees, but sadly there was really nothing much to shout about, except to snap some photos with this clown, who is trying his best to cheer up those very "bored" tourist. The resort is a one street "french inspired" buildings, lining up both side of the street, with mainly western food restaurants, and you can actually finish touring in 15 minutes, if not for the photo taking session.

There were practically no activity up here, and I heard that its worst during the weekdays. It is a far cry when compared to another tourist attraction located nearby, Genting Highlands, Malaysia, and you can visit the place for free. Foods and drinks are expensive and we practically paid through our nose for for three bottles of mineral water which cost RM13.20, after tax. That does not include the cost of petrol where they made you drive round up a big hill, before going up the next hill to the resort. Maybe they are trying to show to us how the rich and famous actually lived in their huge bungalows, perched on the steep hill slopes. Wonder what will happen to these homes if there is an earthquakes. Talking of being sour grapes.

If you want to get your caricatures done, this guy Basri (hope I got his name correct) is good. It is value for money, of course, capturing your image with a camera will be much much cheaper.

Well, my two "goddaughters say it all, "WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET".

The only consolation is that you are also allowed to visit the Japanese Garden located at another side of the hill. The garden is certainly well landscaped and very beautiful, offering you lots of greenery and opportunity to snap photos. Japanese kimonos are available for rental at RM20-00 (half hour, not half day okay). At certain designated hours, the Japanese Tea House display "Japanese Tea Ceremony", but who wants to pay RM20-00 per head for a cup of green tea (guess I am not that "cultured" yet).
