Malaysian Autos - Cars (Part 1)

Good day guys!

It had been a long time since the last time I put an entry in this blog.. I'm glad to have the time to share with you about my views on Malaysia I know..

Today I'm going to talk about Malaysian autos (cars). As a developing country, Malaysia had bloomed in the past 20 years to become an industrialised country. In those years, we manage to enhance our industry in automotive sector. And I'm very proud to share here of those success.

Well, it started in 1983, when our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir announced that Malaysia will produce her own National Car. Then, the first government-owned company, Proton immerged.

Since that time, Proton's engineers & designers are working days & nights to achive the goal and our first car - named Proton Saga - was released to public in 1985.

The first generation of Proton

I was in my secondary school at that time. However, people were sceptical to buy the car at that time. But gradually people were beginning to accept that Malaysians CAN DO IT! And starting from that time, our car industry began to explode..

Not long after that came the second generation, the Proton Iswara.

Followed by a few other models... like Proton Knight, Proton Putra, Satria etc.

Proton Wira.. I owned one of this... Mine is the 1997 model. Wira 1.5GLA.

For the young ones, they'll choose Satria model which is more sporty & trendy.

The Satria GTi model (right) which used Lotus technology in the engine.

The later & more stylish Satria Neo.

Now, Proton had produced more than a million units of cars in variety of models such as Waja, Gen-2, Persona & the latest MPV model - Exora

The Waja model is widely used as Police cars for its durability & agility.

So as Perdana V6 which is used as Government Executive Car. This model is also used for the MPs.

The sexy yet elegant Gen-2 model. Largely bought by newly appointed government servants for its compatetive prices.

When the newer version Persona came into the market, well they switched to this model for its agile handling & compatetive price - Our Pride & Joy.

For those who have a large family, Proton had launched a new MPV model, Exora in 2009.

The Twin Mosque

This is unique.. I think there's no other country (at least in Asean) that have a twin mosque like The Sultan Ibrahim Grand Mosque in Muar. This mosque has a history behind and popular among Malaysian. I like the unique design which shows the fusion of European and Islamic architechture.

The mosque is located on Jalan Petri, Muar near the Muar river-mouth. Its twin is located at the other side of the river and we can see both mosques at the same time and place. However, its twin is located at a quite hidden place - behind the Tanjung Agas Industrial Area across the river. You'll have to use The Sultan Ismail Bridge (the longest bridge in Johore) to get there.

I'm sorry if the picture is a little dark, because of the rainy season. It was drizzling at that time.

The Skies

I went to Cha'ah on 9th Dicember 2009, to meet a friend with my husband. Actually we're going to buy some oil palm seedlings from a nursery which located in Jementah. We took off at 6.40 am.. along the way we can see the beautiful pictures of morning skies when the sun was just about to rise...

The sun is hiding behind the clouds. Well, it rained last night.

The sun came out with a dramatic view.

Just look at the beautiful sunrise!!

I like to take pictures of the skies.. Everytime I go somewhare, I'll never forget to take pictures of the skies there. I'd like to share some of my experience with you, here... enjoy!

Cameron Highland

Cameron Highlands is located on the Titiwangsa Range at about 1500 metres above sea-level, the temperature here can drop to 16 ˚C or lower at certain times. A lot of nice and beautiful sceneries. People used to go there just to escape from hectic city life and indulge themselves in a cool and calming breeze. My family and I went there last year... just to get together and enjoy ourselves.

If you came from Kuala Lumpur, you can get there from Tapah (Perak) exit or Simpang Pulai exit of PLUS Highway, or use the long winding ordinary road. I suggest you use Simpang Pulai exit because it's more comfortable especially if you bring your kids along. If you came from the east, you can get there from Gua Musang new road.

On the way up the hills, we stop-by a strawberry farm and tasted the sweet and sour fruit..

My big family... at BOH Tea Plantation, Cameron Highlands

Some of the attraction in Cameron Highlands are the tea plantation. The most famous one is BOH Tea Plantation.

This is the other tea plantion (Cameron Bharat Plantation) or Cameron Valley Tea Plantation.

It's nice to have a cup of tea while enjoying the spectacular views, don't you think? It was drizzling at that time and the air was wet and cool.

The cool temperature in Cameron Highlands which rarely drops below 10°C or climbs above 21°C, and the fertile area is generous for vegetables growth. Flowers are also cultivated for sale nationwide and wild flowers bloom everywhere.

One of the orchid species cultivated in a flower nursery ready for sale. Some of the flowers cultivated here are exported overseas such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.

Most of the vegetebles cultivated here are for export to Singapore and local market. As you can see here are the spring unions, lots of them!

The markets, they sell a lot of fruits and vegetables freshly picked form farm. Those markets are run by the farm owners themselves.. Hmmm... yum.. yum...
