Monsters of Maldene

Miro — Mon, 19 Oct 2026 19:00:56 +0000

Okay, first this article isn’t about demons, just creatures of various types; I’ve just been looking for an excuse to show off that Maldene Tarot card. At any rate, you’ve seen a few of Maldene’s races, some of its critters, and perhaps a dragon or two, not to mention the Treblors, but there are quite …

Dalnosh Teyon: The Swamp Of Doom

Miro — Fri, 16 Oct 2026 19:00:46 +0000

The world of Maldene has quite a few sites both magical and dangerous, places of mystery, places of wondrous magic. But in all of Maldene, there is no place with more fearsome a reputation as that of Dalnosh Teyon… the Swamp of Doom. Located on an equatorial island that’s nearly all swamp, the Swamp …

The Olden Gods

Every culture of every world has its mythologies, and so does Maldene. But, no matter what the culture to be found on Maldene, be it Human, Elf, Thirdocian, or anything else, there is one mythology that comes before them all: that of The Olden Gods. Long ago, before any time currently known, the Olden Gods …

The Dragon Lord

Miro — Thu, 08 Oct 2026 19:00:23 +0000

Miro has many servants, including a few that don’t realize they are servants. One such of these is a character known only as The Dragon Lord. He is, shall we say, an interesting personality, prone to extremes of rage. He may think that he’s using Miro, but we all know better, don’t we? Residing in …

The Forests of My-Thov

Miro — Mon, 05 Oct 2026 19:00:49 +0000

The dalnmar (continent) of My-Thov is the biggest on Maldene by far, and doesn’t do anything in half-measures. For instance, The Great Desert is named that with very good reason; between Funnel Storms, innocent looking flowers that drawn all moisture within two dozen feet feet, 30-foot Sand Crab Beetles that hide beneath the sands ready …

The Mountains Of Frecaloth

Miro — Fri, 02 Oct 2026 19:00:43 +0000

The Coiled Dragon of the Greater Arcana represents restrained power, and what better visual of power than the sight of the highest mountains on Maldene, the mountains of the dalnmar (that’s ‘continent’ for you Earthers) of Frecaloth. In a world where there are ranges with mountains upwards of 20,000 to 40,000 or more in …

Maldene In Pictures– The Weather

Miro — Mon, 28 Sep 2026 19:00:31 +0000

The weather on a world as large as Maldene, with three moons no less, can be a bit tricky, to say the least, and deserves to qualify as a character in itself. So, let’s start these highlights with something that’s already been mentioned: the infamous Funnel Storm. Imagine all the worst features of a …

The Moons Of Maldene

Miro — Fri, 25 Sep 2026 19:00:42 +0000

The Moons is one of the three cards of the Maldene tarot’s High Arcana, but why do they appear as drawn? And why three? Well, there’s a simple enough answer. The world of Maldene itself has three moons, each exactly as colored on the tarot card. Largest Gamro is Yellow, the middle sized green moon …

The Streets of Maldene– A Quick Tour

Miro — Tue, 22 Sep 2026 19:00:11 +0000

As this card indicates, the characters in our story have a long journey indeed, Maldene being a big place and all, not to mention everything in their way. So let’s take a quick look at some of those places that the Long Road will be taking them through. The Harbor of the World is …

The Art Of Maldene: That Mysterious Symbol In Brackets.

Miro — Sat, 19 Sep 2026 19:00:23 +0000

There is a particular symbol you may have found squirreled away on my site, or perhaps crammed onto the edge of one of my graphics or at the end of the Maldene book trailer. You’ll even see it etched into that weird map found at the end of the first Maldene novel. You’ll find it …
