How long have you been at Malibu Aerospace?

3 years in September.

What is your favorite part about working at Malibu?

I like learning about airplanes.  Even though we only work on PA46, I learn something new all the time.

What does Malibu Aerospace do that sets it apart from other maintenance shops?

We have great knowledge, especially with Chad here.  I guess you could call us specialist here in the shop because we only work on PA46, but Chad is the true specialist.  He knows a lot.  Here in the shop, we do great work and we are very particular.

How did you get into the aviation industry?

I was looking to make a career change out of automotive.  I saw an advertisement for this position and applied for it.  I am now finishing up my apprenticeship and will start prepping for the A&P exams.  I am excited to get it done, but as we all know life gets busy; especially with two little boys running around at home.

Have you ever flown?

I have flown with Chad.  Held the stick at least.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I have been to 17 Grateful Dead concerts all over the country… when I was younger.

What is your favorite thing to do outside work?

I like to hunt and fish.  Hunt for ducks mostly and fish for Crop-eyes and Wal-eyes!

Hobbies?  Golf, Softball and Hunting

If you could play a round of golf with one person, dead or alive, who would it be? Ah, Tiger. I’d hate to embarrass myself in front of him, but I’d say Tiger.

What’s your golf Handicap? Probably around a 14.

What position do you play in softball? 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, Short Stop and Pitcher.  This year mostly Short Stop and Pitcher.

What’s your batting average? Oh, I’d say a .500… it’s softball!

How did you get into aviation?  Purely accidental.  I was working at Uni-Systems as a temp and they put me on waivers.  Chad picked me up. Now I work here.

Do you/ Have you ever flown? Yes.  I have 3 minutes total time. 2 minutes in a JetProp and 1 minute in a RV.

What is your favorite part about Malibu Aerospace?  My BFF Ketti!  The people; the people are the greatest.

Why should people bring their plane to Malibu Aerospace to be serviced?  The mechanics incredible work and Chad’s incredible knowledge.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?  Gosh, I’ll be 60!  I’ll be retired and on a golf course in Florida.

Anything else you want people to know about you?  I’m the nicest guy Wilder knows!

Hobbies? “Hunting, fishing, knife making, skateboarding- just kidding, I can’t skateboard, gardening- I have the best raspberry bushes in Blaine”

How did you get into aviation?  “I went into the army and Helicopter maintenance was the best job available.  I have over 1600 hrs logged on a Black Hawk, flight instructing medics, Medevac, and combat ops”.

What was/is your favorite A/C to work on? Why? “The UH60/A… Black Hawk” Why? “I have lots of time working on it and they are really cool”.

Do you/ Have you ever flown? “Chad let me fly once”.

If you could own one A/C, what would it be? “A Beaver on Floats”

What is your favorite part about Malibu Aerospace? “The trust I have in my co-workers, these guys are great”.

Why should people bring their plane to Malibu Aerospace to be serviced? “Because of our willingness to work with customers and ability understand their needs.”

Do you have any funny aviation stories?  “I once flew naked for 2 hrs… but the whole crew was naked…it was hot out… that’s why we were naked.. we were in Iraq in July, its hot out”

If you were on a deserted island, what is one thing you would want with you? Besides food/water. “A Beaver on floats!”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “I don’t think that far ahead”

Anything else you want people to know about you? “I have the best mustache at Malibu; well it’s the only mustache.”
