Spectres

2011-06-21T19:21:00.000-07:00

As in vampires there are also ranks withing the Wraiths, Specters are the most feared, they have only pain and fear as their companions and wish to spread their misery upon all living and unliving entity they encounter.

Spectres
They can be divided into Castes, based on their function in serving oblivion.
From lowest to highest goes as follow:

Mortwights: Spectres who suffered horrifying disfiguring deaths, succumbing to Oblivion at the moment of their death. Mortwights are given less respect because they never chose to serve Oblivion. The Mortwights see themselves as greater servants of Oblivion because they were always Oblivion's servants and were never deluded by a desire to avoid it.
Haints: Spectres who died of famine, genocide, or some other atrocity, and enter the underworld as Spectres driven by insatiable hunger. Like Mortwights, the Haints are given lower status because they never chose to serve Oblivion. Mortwights and Haints are considered roughly equal.
Doppelgangers: The most common Spectres, they are normally indistinguishable form other wraiths, acting as Oblivion's spies and inside operators. The doppelgangers are seen as lesser servants of Oblivion because of their relatively recent conversion to Oblivions service, and because it has not yet begun to mark their corpus.
Apparitions: The evangelists of Oblivion, these Spectres seek to convert wraiths by preaching to their Shadows. Apparitions are Mortwights, Haints, or Doppelgangers whose corpus has begun to be re-wrought by the corrupting touch of Oblivion.
Shades: Spectres whose personality was destroyed by Oblivion and the Tempest, and who exist as near-mindless predators in its depths. Used as shock troops by the spectres, these beasts are given greater respect because they have already partly succumbed to Oblivion.
Nephwracks: The templars and high priests of the Malfeans and the bureaucrats and generals of the Labyrinth. Nephwracks are distinguished by corpuses distinctly and extensively marked by Oblivion.
Hekatonkhire: The so-called "Thousand Handed Gods," long-lived shades of Onceborn-like power but no usable intelligence. Used in an almost siege-engine-like capacity by the Spectres, 3 Hekatonkhire were present at the siege of Stygia during the 3rd Great Maelstrom.
The Malfeans themselves, God-Kings of Oblivion.

Wraiths

2011-06-15T00:00:00.000-07:00

When a mortal dies a violent death or has unfinished business, it is hard to let go of this world and so a wraith is born.

Ghosts. Phantoms. The restless dead. Call them what you like, these malingering spirits of departed mortals have been around as long as Cainites have, perhaps longer.
Wraiths are undead creatures that can be confused with shadows or mist, they are incorporeal but when in presence of mortals they feed upon the emotions that mortals have. Fear and Anger most likely since every Wraith has the Dark Presence about them.
Ever felt an uncontrollable fear for no reason what so ever?? sitting infront of your Pc and suddenly a shiver down your spine and a sense of Dread that comes with it? Thar is the Dark Presence roaming around and whenever you are close to a Wraith the Dark Presence follows.
When fueled by anger or fear a Wraith can manifest itself and interact with the living, The invisibly hurled plate, the sourceless whisper, the worm-riddled visage that flickers at the edge of perception all of these are powers that Wraiths possess, but when in contact with another supernatural being, a Wraith can try to consume it and pour all its hatred and malice on to it, all Wraiths are evil and wish for every creature in this earth to experience the pain and suffering they went and are still going through.

Wraiths manifest most effectively in "haunted" sites and places where great suffering or trauma has left a psychic residue (battlefields, torture chambers, the bridge where a suicide leapt, etc. ). In such places, the Shroud between the worlds of the living and the dead is weak

a Wraith is but the first step into something else, but no mortal can say if it is for good or ill.

Golconda

2011-06-12T12:50:00.000-07:00

The Angels cursed Cain that we all know, but God gave one last chance to Cain through the path of redemption, in the light of The Golconda.
Golconda is a state that a kindred can achieve in which he is in Peace with his beastial nature and can control The Beast, a Vampire is no longer held by the shackles of undeath but he returns to the mortal world, of course the Path to achieve Golconda is never easy, much of how it can be attained has been lost, and the Camarilla rarely speak of it, the Sabbat Shun it entirely. But the state of Golconda can be compared to achieving the Nirvana.
Searching for Golconda is by no means an easy task, it is dangerous indeed, for a kindred must repent for all of his sins, and then a test of the mind must be accomplished, not much is known of this "Test" but if a Cainite fails this test then he is forever lost to the Beast he falls into Wassail.

Wassail: Norse,"Be in Good health" Also: Drink, Revel, Party

The Wassail is the last frenzy a vampire experiences, after that Colossal Frenzy there is no turning back, the Beast takes over for good and a vampire ceases to exist, his mind is destroyed and all that remains is unchained aggressiveness and destruction, a Berserker state that never ends until, like a rabid dog he is put down. A Vampire in this state is known as a Whight.

Sascha Vykos

2011-06-10T15:32:00.000-07:00

Androgynous Sascha Vykos - Noddist scholar, Tzimisce scientist and Cainite monster - has long been a staunch supporter of Sabbat freedom. It is Hell's chief torturer and a musician with a scalpel. Sascha understands the nuances of every physical sensation and the nerves best suited to receive its ministrations. It is also a creature of learning, with a collection of books and artifacts to humble the halls of all academia.
Sascha's enemies, including the Gangrel Beckett and the Malkavian Anatole, believe it holds cult-status within the Sabbat, wherein sect members emulate its actions. In truth, however, Sascha is a monster beyond its own years.

Over the centuries, Sascha - for that is what Myca renamed itself shortly after leading an assault on the village of Thorns - has served its sect as scholar and warrior. In both roles, it acts as wandering priscus, though its manner of advising regional cardinals seems more akin to making strong "suggestions" than polite recommendations. As scholar, it maintains ancient libraries and repositories across the Balkan states. In this role, Sascha is an ally to the old-guard Sabbat who appreciate the strength of knowledge. As warrior, however, Sascha is also a frightening tool of retribution. With mastery over Vicissitude and Thaumaturgy, it can best most adversaries.

Lucita de Aragone

2011-06-09T11:55:00.000-07:00

LUCITA DE ARAGON: Generation 7th Clan Lasombra Antitribu

Thanks to her fierce independence and preference for the Camarilla over the Sabbat, she was considered antitribu.
Originally a member of the Aragonese nobility in northeastern Spain, Lucita was always a rebel. Her sire, Ambrosio Luis Monçada, embraced her in her early 20s, though she soon became disgusted with both him and her clan, the latter after the formation of the Sabbat. Despite her rebellious nature, she is every inch a noblewoman, and feels the Lasombra lack true nobility, something she also feels has gone from the mortal world.

An accomplished warrior, she has worked for the Camarilla as an archon, and is justly feared and admired by Kindred of all sects.
Kindred that live so long can manipulate the blood in their bodies to do their bidding, augmenting their Physical, and Mental prowess far beyond Human capabilities.

Her true loyalties however lie with her companions, the Malkavian Anatole and the Gangrel Beckett.
Later in her unlife, following the death of Archbishop Monçada, she became more attuned with the Sabbat, eventually abandoning her Humanity and picking up a Path of Enlightenment.

Many vampires that live long enough find that their humanity is numb after centuries of undeath the events that would shock a mortal makes no mark to an elder vampire, so to maintain the Beast in check they need other ways to ride the Beast, hence the Paths they take renders them no longer human but something else.

ANATOLE

2011-06-08T10:23:00.000-07:00

ANATOLE: Generation 10th (Originally) Generation 6th (via Diablerie) Clan Malkavian
Spiritual in life and a religious fanatic in undeath (he follows the Road of Heaven and possesses True Faith), Anatole has had visions of Gehenna for most of his existence. He originally sought to guide vampires to fulfil their part of God's plan, but in the Final Nights he acts more as a prophet of doom.
Anatole has comitted diablerie on many occasions, seeking to gain the knowledge of others. His last victim, Octavio, was a willing one; he wished to pass on his burden of being the mouthpiece of the demon Kupala. The remnants of Octavio's soul persist within the Malkavian's mind, whispering secrets of Gehenna, and the demon now speaks through Anatole.
The process of Diablerie can sometimes back fire if the mind is a weak one, by consuming the Essence of kindred one can have split personalities, the original Vampire and the just Diablerized one or worse, the original vampire is destroyed by the more powerful mind.

While second to his friend Beckett as a Gehenna scholar, Anatole possesses unique insights and seeks to rid himself of his own demons by finding the truth behind vampiric existence.
It is strange to find Mortals with True Faith, the power to repel the creatures of the night, and to find it in a creature of the Damned is stranger still. Clan Malkavian is always regarded with mistrust and fear, you never know what to expect from Kindred of Clan Malkavian.

BECKET The Scholar

2011-06-07T13:38:00.000-07:00

Becket the Scholar

BECKET Generation 7th Clan Gangrel
Known over the world for coming and going as he pleases and always appearing when "interesting" items, books, scraps or stories appear, Beckett is also notorious among Kindred scholars for his theory that the story of Cain and Abel is actually a myth, representing human civilization's move from hunter-gatherer into agricultural society. How this is connected with vampirism he is not sure, but if anyone can find the evidence and discover the truth, Beckett can.

His knowledge of ancient lore, linguistics and fighting skills is perfectly complemented by mastery of a number of Disciplines outside the usual purview of the Gangrel, and a more than passing knowledge of Thaumaturgy. His skill with the Gangrel trademark disciplines is such that he often travels like a wolf, and he was known to run the length of a football field under the scorching sun. He has cat-like red eyes with crescent shaped pupils that glows faintly.

Vampire Hunter Arsenal

2011-06-02T12:11:00.000-07:00

So we have established the weakness of kindred, but what does one use to bring final Death to immortals?
Fire arms?, Blades? Holy Relics???

Weaponry:

Shotgun: A gun is more of a nuisance more than a real threat, but a shotgun blast to the torso is a very different thing entirely.

Fire: Burn baby BURN!!!! Fire is one of the weaknesses that where bestowed to Cain and his childer, every kindred has a weakness against the Flame, so it is naturaly part of a Demon Hunters arsenal.

Blades: Knives, Machetes, Swords, Razors All are good, any kind of weapon that can cleave through meat is good arsenal against Kindred, although Vampires have no living organs regenerating damage by a Blade that was wrenched from its body is a grueling task, also Decapitation is pretty good to giving final death. But there is a Draw back if you are found patrolling the streets with a Katana Blade.

Wooden Stake: The mighty cliche of a stake through the Heart. Indeed it does work but partly. A stake through the heart only Paralyses a vampire rending him helpless and is easy game for any Hunter.

Holy Relics: A cross, The crescent, a Swastika, Any emblem that you consider Holy that could repel evil spirits may well serve you, for a Holy relic is nothing without the Faith of the person to back it up, The fire of Faith burns more brightly if you actually believe in it.

Sunlight: The best weapon for vampire hunters is The Sun, it is at that time that kindred sleep, but if one finds a kindred´s haven in the morning hours, well its time to kiss daylight.

Cain´s Law and Punishment

2011-06-01T17:04:00.000-07:00

It is very hard, my children
to prescribe for you the punishment
of burning.
of exsanguination.
of beheading.
of torture.
of paralysis.
of the sundeath.

You are my Childer, alone among the
rest of existence
you are my only companions.
Forever will we be locked
in the way that fathers are bonded to
their sons
and sons to their fathers.

And yet i will root out the bad
seed.

I will weed out the worst of you,
I will prune my dark tree
in the manner
that my Father. Adam taught me.

The Phantom of the Opera

2011-05-31T11:51:00.000-07:00

The Opera Ghost that haunted the opera house is based on the tragic figure of an unknown Nosferatu that dwelled in a theater, after falling in love with a beautiful maiden the Phantom instructs her in the arts of voices, many believe that the maiden was being targeted by the Toreador for embrace, so the Phantom tried to protect her, although it pained him to loose her, he wished for her to be pure and enjoy life rather than being cursed by Vampirism. The tale goes that the Maiden starts to fall in love with the voice in the darkness, and that the mask that the Nosferatu wore was a metaphor of the clan discipline of Obfuscate "The Mask of a Thousand Faces" that allows a vampire to reshape his figure and mannerism, so that they think he is some one else. The Nosferatu saved the Maiden from the Toreador clan that wanted to embrace her and revealed himself to her, after centuries past, a writer found her memoirs and published the story of The Phantom of the Opera.

Baba Yaga

2011-05-30T12:31:00.000-07:00

On dark nights, the Little Grandmother, the Iron Toothed Hag would fly across the skies of Russia on her magic mortar, and under her shadow milk spoiled and babies were born dead, or so they said.
For millennia, the creature Baba Yaga slept under the soil of Russia, perhaps from the time of Kiev to the time of Stalin. Baba Yaga is a Methuselah, a 4th Generation Vampire, although not an Antediluvian it is said that the Nosferatu are split in two, The Nicktuku, faithful to the Antediluvian Absimiliard who In retribution for, is said to hunt down all of his own childer (the entire Nosferatu clan). and the Nosferatu who where a branch that started with Baba Yaga. and are being hunted by the Nicktuku.
So the Shadow Curtain is created, it is still unknown how Baba Yaga created the Shadow Curtain but it prevented for any kindred who tried to cross it. Baba Yaga might have ruled Russia in perpetuity, but for the legend of Vasalisa, the little girl who completed three impossible tasks for the Little Grandmother. In this case, though, Vasalisa was a Nictuku who was sent to slay Baba Yaga achieving it in the year 2000 when the Shadow Curtain fell.

Rasputin

2011-05-28T15:19:00.000-07:00

Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin. A Russian mystic who is perceived as having influenced the latter days of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra, and their only son Alexei. Rasputin had often been called the "Mad Monk" In reality his dark powers came from the vampiric discipline Dementation, for Rasputin was a vampire from clan Malkavian hence his nickname The Mad Monk. It is said that Rasputin "healed" the severe hemophilia that Alexei had by feeding him his blood making him into a Ghoul.

There are many stories regarding the true nature of Rasputin, for some consider him of clan Brujah, Followers of Set and even a Ventrue ghoul, the truth may never be revealed but hints have been found that Rasputin tried to achieve absolute mastery of all the vampires by mixing the blood of every vampire clan, and attain the powers of every kindred in the world, that is why many believe that Rasputin descended from different clans, and most importantly the resiliency he demonstrated at being shot, stabbed, poisoned, bludgeoned, and drowning. As Rasputin entered torpor for the severity of his injuries he found final death at the stake by being burned and beheaded, ending him for good.

Dracula

2011-05-27T13:12:00.000-07:00

Lord Dracula

Vladimir Tepes III as he was known in life is as enigmatic in undeath as he was as a mortal, even more so for Dracula is one of various historical figures with ties with the kindred, in fact it is believed that Dracula as a mortal captured vampires from clan Tzimisce and drank of their blood, but when tragedy struck and her dear Elizabetha Dracula is the only other Mortal that transcended humanity and gained immortality as an undead, the other one being Casius Longinus. Dracula Cursed god for taking Elizabetha from him and forsake his humanity.

Order of the Dracul

Much of the Order believes that Dracula himself still survives into the modern era, possibly no longer a true vampire but progressed into something more.
At any time there are, of course, several Kindred claiming to be Dracula. Some are foolish ancillia seeking power, some are elders seeking the same but with much greater wisdom. A select few vampires have the age, power, and charisma to make believable claims. At present, there are three Kindred who might be the real thing.

Rotschreck

2011-05-26T11:36:00.000-07:00

Fear. It is in all of us, that sensation of unknown or going into a dark tunnel not knowing what to expect, or at night the evil presence, a fear that grips the heart without knowing why, where or who is responsible for it.
Vampires also know of this emotion and they are not immune to it, specially to the Rotschreck, The Red Fear.
The Archangel Michael clearly states, while cursing Cain, that he and his children will fear the flame and it will hurt them deeply, causing unbearable agony and pain; Vampires have been cursed not only by weakness to Flame but also fear of it.
The Rotscheck is a type of frenzy that is triggered by Fire, the fear of being consumed in flames, since it is one of the few things that is Anathema to a vampire and most importantly the cursed imposed by the Archangel Michael himself.

Being close to fire in different situations and depending on the will power of the kindred are the only things that keep the Rotschreck in check, the frenzy is similar as when the Beast controls the Kindred but it is in a fearful state instead of destroying everything in its path, a Kindred seeks refuge and tries to escape by any means possible from the source of his fears.

The Final Nights AGAIN

2011-05-24T20:55:00.000-07:00

It is said that the majority of vampires have a sense of impending doom during the Final Nights, though only a small handful actively pursue prophecies concerning the end times, such as The Malkavian Anatole or Beckett The Gangrel and Sascha Vykos. It should be noted that throughout the years leading up to and after the second millennium, these nights are called The Final Nights.

No one is quite sure of its significance or the reality nor gravity of these hard times ahead, but all prophecies state that the Antediluvians shall rise and devour their childer whole. others claim that Cain and Lillith shall wage a war for complete dominance of the kindred society and reign the world for a thousand years. Fear grows each passing night for the rise of Zapathasura may have been the first sign of the End of Times.

The 13 Antediluvians

2011-05-23T13:46:00.000-07:00

Antedeluvians, the most powerful vampires known a side from Cain. Rumored to be 10,000 years old, they are the founders, the Original founders of the 13 vampire clans, They are called Antediluvian because the escaped the great flood by burring themselves underground and waiting for the deluge to subside.

Brujah - Brujah; 'diablerized' by Troile

Cappadocians - Ashur

Gangrel - Ennoia

Followers of Set - Setekh or Suthek (Set)

Lasombra - The King of Shadows, when it bothers with a name at all

Malkavians - Malkav

Nosferatu - Absimilliard

Ravnos - Zapathasura, sometimes Ravanna or Dracian (in the West)

Salubri - Saulout 'diablerized' by Tremere

Toreador - Arikel

Tzimisce - Mekhet, The Eldest, again should it bother with a name at all

Ventrue - Veddartha

Many of these names may change for a vampire, since living for millennia an Antedeluvian may change his name, or is changed by the population, but one thing is certain, their power is absolute.
And this is how it came to pass that Cain´s Progeny endured for millennia to this day, many Antedeluvians have met final death, others are in Torpor awaiting for the Gehenna but one thing is clear, All of them either in Torpor or in ash are of great influence of their respective Vampiric Clan.

Tomorrow the Rapture begins

2011-05-20T14:05:00.000-07:00

So Tomorrow the rapture begins, so im just gonna chill around and wait for nothing to happen and see the world Rejoice again that indeed the end of times isnt here. Sorry that i didnt post anything regarding Vampires, Werewolves or anything related its just that every time that a False prophet comes into play stating that "THE END OF THE WORLD IS AT HAND REPENT OR BURN IN HELL" it gets my blood burning Ignorance must be punished. Oh yeah it is 21/05/2011 in Australia and i dont hear anything about the judgement day beginning.

Number 1: Interview with the Vampire

2011-05-19T16:05:00.000-07:00

The top of the list isnt an action film but it is the best vampire movie out there because you follow the accounts of Louis de Pointe du Lac a mortal that was seeking death after his wife pasted away in childbirth, he seemed cursed as no one would take upon the task of ending his life, none but a vampire accepted his call.
Interview with the vampire is the best vampire film because none other film captures the essence and torment of living centuries away from the mortal realm and feeling the slow decent into the Beast, feeling how it hacks away at your humanity until you no longer recognize yourself as a mortal but something else entirely.

,
Yes we are the Kindred Family

Lestat is the sire of Louis, Lestat tries to teach him the basics of "The dark gift" but Lestat has no compassion nor remorse for taking human lives, they are Cattle and as such must be slaughtered for the strong to survive.
While the movie develops you see Louis struggling to maintain his humanity drinking the blood of rats instead of humans, for he does not wishes to take innocent lives.

This fire turns me ON

After a few centuries Louis leaves Lestat (More likely tries to kill Lestat) and travels the world seeking other kindred, and then he finds Armand, a very old and influential vampire that wishes to teach Louis the ways of the kindred.

Many of you may differ about my choice on the number 1 spot but this is the best story you will find about the life of and tortures about being an immortal, and that is why its on number 1.

Number 2: From Dusk Till Dawn

2011-05-18T13:12:00.000-07:00

Robert Rodriguez´s Masterpiece From Dusk Till dawn has it all, Vampire, sexy ladies, vampire hunters and a humoristic reference to the Belmont clan in SEX MACHINE YEAAAAAAHHH!!!. Well the story starts nothing like your regular vampire flick, a Religious family goes on a trip south of the boarder and are boarded in their motor home by 2 bandits (Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney), they highjack the vehicle with all the family members and decide to go to a strip bar called "THE TITTY TWISTER" (best name for a bar ever) So they stay at the bar because Tarantino and Clooney are going to meet their boss there or something like it.
So the thing is the Bar is filled with vampires Masquerading to be human, so while the night goes along just as everyone is about Wasted the vampires attack, and all hell breaks loose in THE TITTY TWISTER.
vampire survival horror at its finest.

Satanica Pandemonium

This movie has just about everything a vampire movie needs, just look at Salma Hayek, dancing with a snake there, so the vampire hunters repel a first wave of vampires but need to retreat because they are overwhelmed and since THE TITTY TWISTER is a bar for truck drivers and many of them didnt deliver their merchandise they find themselves some pretty useless... gear like water guns and condoms, BUT WAIT the father of the family was a priest that lost faith but regained it when witnessing the horrors of hell first hand, believing that if there are devils then there surely must exist a God somewhere. So: holy water + condoms = HOLY CONDOM GRENADES. Hell yessss Castlevanias Belmont clan couldnt do it better.
This movie is a great flick to watch with practically anyone, great action, great babes (Salma Hayek rings any bells?) and a so so story line but with great character progression. A must see film considering this came out in 1996 and we are in 2011 and if you havent seen it, Dude whats your problem man???

Number 3: Castlevania Series

2011-05-17T12:29:00.000-07:00

I know this isnt a movie, but just humor me, this is a great game and it has 2 great elements Legendary Vampire Hunters and Legendary Vampire.
The story follows the accounts of the Belmont clan that swore to hunt the creatures of the night from the first known Belmont Vampire hunter Leon. The oath has been maintained as ever century Dracula rises from torpor to engulf the world in darkness, and every time he does so, there is a Belmont ready to take on the task to Slay vampires and demons alike.
The Belmont´s are shunned for their supernatural powers and abilities to channel their faith into holy relics and sacred weapons, particularly the Holy cross, Holy water and the legendary chain whip The vampire killer.

Gabriel Belmont

The castle it all takes place is a living entity that changes form with each reincarnation of Lord Dracula, in this universe Dracula is the living (or rather undead) representation of evil in the world and has such power that he commands legions of undead and even the Angel of death. But Dracula is vanquished by the will and power of the Belmont clan and in many cases claiming the life of the Belmont that destroyed him.

What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets

Dracula can be resurrected by mortals via a dark ritual in sacrificing a virgin at the altar where he was defeated. Amongst the vampire hunters that rise to slay him his own son a Damphir called Alucard (Dracula backwards) confronted him on two occasions, since Dracula despises humanity for killing her beloved Elizabetha when he was mortal and in his immortal life Lisa was burned at the stake for curing the sick, condemning her as a witch.

If you dont play the games at least read a comic or manga of this series, it is one of if not the best vampire series out there.
