You’ll see the city’s impressive Gothic cathedral, looming over a beautiful lagoon. Then check out the stylish waterfront, with its glitzy yachts and glamorous restaurants. See the ancient windmills of Es Jonquet, which are the centrepiece of an old fishermen’s quarter that is now heaving with trendy restaurants and bars. Hop off at Bellver Castle, a perfectly round Gothic fortress that was built in the 14th century to protect Palma and looks as good as new. Stroll around the complex (admission is optional) and enjoy breathtaking views of the city from this vantage point and look out at the city and marina.

Explore the cobbled medieval quarter and discover a treasure trove of jewellery and antique shops, and sunny squares where tapas joints advertise their specials on outdoor chalk boards. There are many attractions such as Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Almudaina Palace, the Arab Baths, the former Grand Hotel, which is now an art gallery and sections of the old city walls that can still be walked.

La Serra de Tramuntana, que es nuestra cordillera, es el lugar ideal para disfrutar de la nieve. Subir con precaución, ya que los caminos pueden ser un poco peligrosos, y enseñar a los más pequeños a hacer un buen muñeco de nieve es una actividad que no te puedes perder.

Castillo de Bellver

Construido por órden de Jaime II en el S. XIV es el gran dominador de la Bahía. A tan solo 3 km. del centro de la ciudad ofrece unas vistas únicas.

El periodo que pasó Jovellanos reo en el castillo hasta que fue liberado en 1808 es una de las muchas historias.Se emplearon 9 años en su construcción y el maestro de obras fúe Pere Salvà y tambien participaron otros maestros como Francesc Caballer, Ponç Descoll, Pere Tallada, Arnau Llompart y el escultor Antoni Campredon.

Único en su estructura circular en toda España con sus tres torreones integrados y una torre del homenaje de 33,37 mts. dividida en 4 plantas comunicadas por una escalera de caracol.

La torre está separada unos siete metros del castillo y unida a él por un bello puente, de construcción posterior.

En el subterraneo se encuentra la famosa prisión de S'Olla Sus cuatro torres coinciden con la rosa de los Vientos y esta rodeado de un foso protector.

El castillo alberga en su interior un patio de armas circular, de dos pisos, formando galerías adornadas por columnas con arcos semicirculares en su planta baja. El patio fué construido encima de un aljibe con un pozo central.

Alrededor del patio se encuentran diferentes salas, varias de estas albergan el "Museu de la Ciutat", una intesante exposición de la historia de Palma, desde la prehistoria hasta la Edad Media, con cuatro areas:

The Seo, as it is called here, was build on the site of a preexisting Arab mosque. One night in 1229, as Jaime I was on his way to recapture Majorca, his fleet was struck by a terrible storm. He vowed the and there to the Virgin Mary that if he survived nature´s fury, he would erect a church in her honor. And after the storm had blown over, finding himself safe and sound, he immediately undertook the project. Recorriendo los pueblos de Algaida , Montuiri , en donde podrán admirar y comprar algún que otro presente en la fábrica de perlas artificiales Majorica , tras nuestro paso por Villafranca del Bonany , llegaremos a Manacor , tercera ciudad en nº de habitantes de Mallorca , importante por su industria bisutera , artesanía del olivo y sobre todo del mueble.

Seguiremos hasta Porto Cristo , donde se tendrá luego tiempo libre para visitar las famosísimas Cuevas del Drach , obra maestra de la naturaleza .

Muchas sorpresas nos aguardan en el interior , como el inolvidable concierto de música clásica sobre barcas en el Lago Martel , considerado como el mayor lago subterráneo del mundo de 177 m de largo.

Las Cuevas del Drac son en realidad cuatro: la Cueva de los franceses, la Cueva de Luis Salvador.
Las Cuevas que tienen una longitud total de unos dos Kms., fueron exploradas por el espeleólogo francés Martel en 1896, por encargo del Archiduque de Austria Luis Salvador.

Las estalactitas y estalagmitas invaden todas las cuevas, a veces uniéndose, formando caprichosas formas que recuerdan animales, imágenes, figuras humanas, etc.
